A while back my good buddy, Kiba, proposed this idea. He would write a short prologue and I would write the rest of the story.

The prologue can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22692656/

A lot of work went into this. It got re-written several times, but I finally had a version that I liked and was proud of.

The next morning a light blue van parked on the edge of the meadow that held the fair. The passenger side door flew open and Jay jumped to the ground. He dusted off his long blue mage jacket before planting his wooden staff firmly on the ground and slinging a large diaper bag over his free shoulder. After taking a brief moment to gaze over the fairgrounds he opened the second row door and reached in to unload the cubs.

The first car seat to be unbuckled belonged to Dan. Jay unbuckled the pup and gently picked him up before setting him on the meadow's grass. As he did for himself Jay brushed the car lint from Dan's green tunic and made sure his black boots and gloves were still comfortably on the pup. Afterwards, Jay checked the black belt and upon seeing the pup was good to go he handed Dan his beloved toy sword.

As the pup excitedly sized up the fair Jay removed the next cub. He pulled Kiba from the van and placed him next to Dan. The kangaroo rat knelt down and fastened Kiba's massive trophy belt. Then he wiggled the wolf pup's grizzly hide cloak, which was actually a repurposed teddy bear sleeper, to make sure it wasn't sliding off the cub. Satisfied that the cub's cloths were on correctly Jay handed Kiba his toy axe and little wooden shield.

Once Kiba was armed he and Dan began having a friendly duel while Jay pulled the final cub out of the car. Stretching his arms out Jay gently grabbed Mark and hoisted him out of the van. He gave the kit's light blue robe another pat down, trying to remove any dust still clinging to the fabric.

Mark's mother had dropped him off but she hadn't provided the kit with a costume. Not wanting the little one to feel left out Jay searched through his closet and found a light blue mage robe meant for a toddler. The robe had originally been meant for Dan, before the pup had chosen the path of a warrior, but since the pup's decision it had sat in the back of Jay's closet collecting dust.

With his group now assembled outside of the Van jay poked his head back in and confirmed their pickup time. Soon he pulled his head out and shut the van's two doors before waving goodbye as it drove into the distance. Now that everything was in order it was time to have some fun.

Jay walked his group down the grassy path to the wooden gates of the fair proper. Waiting at the gates were none other than the fair's royal family. Four ornately dressed lions: a king, a queen, a prince, and a princess. As the group approached the queen stood to greet them.

With an elegant voice befitting one of her stature the tall lioness spoke. "Hail, good travelers, welcome to our fair."

Jay gave the queen a formal bow and replied. "Hail, your majesty, we've heard tales of your legendary fair and wish to experience for ourselves."

The queen smiled and returned Jay's bow. "It's always a joy to see new faces at our fair. Please, tell me about yourselves."

Stepping forward Jay firmly announced. "I am Jay, arch convoker and leader of the group!" Reached down Jay urged the raccoon kit forward with his paw. "And this is my apprentice, Mark!"

Giving the two a glowing smile the queen commented "Wonderful! It is my hope you can learn something from the wizards of our court. Or perhaps you can teach them something?"

Giggling, Kiba ran forward with his arms in the air. The wolf cub blurted out "I'm Kiba! Imma Viking! Rawr!"

Feigning astonishment the lioness took a step back. "Goodness! What a fiery spirit! Make sure to keep your ferocity in check!"

Responding to the queen's change in tone Kiba spoke. "Don't worry miss queen! Imma good Viking!"

A gentle smile returned to the queen's face. "That is wonderful to hear! Make sure to enjoy the fair, young Viking!"

Finally, the queen turned to Dan. Realizing the monarch was looking directly at him the pup was overwhelmed by nervousness. He lowered his chin into his chest and focused on the ground.

Wanting the cub to have the best experience possible the queen improvised. "I sense a very brave and gallant soul before me."

Jay stepped forward to confirm the queen. "Aye! This is Sir Dan! The most accomplished knight in our lands."

The queen looked at Jay, and then back to Dan "indeed?" she asked. In response Jay gave an assured nod.

"Well! If a mage of such stature is willing to speak for your greatness I believe that you should be formally commended in our kingdom as well!" The queen cheered.

"Oh noble knight, step forward and be recognized!" The queen pronounced in a raised tone. The wolf pup remained motionless, staring at the lioness with a mix of awe and confusion.

Jay grabbed Dan's paw and guided the pup to the feet of the queen. The queen fetched a very realistic toy sword from the side of her throne shouted "HEAR YE, HEAR YE, LET IT BE KNOWN TO ALL SUBJECTS OF THE CROWN THAT THE BRAVE SOUL BEFORE US SHALL HENCEFORTH BE KNOWN AS."

The queen paused for a moment. Her cheeks flushed a rosy red as she looked around. After ten seconds the queen coughed and softly asked. "Dear, what's your name again?" The wolf pup cheerfully screamed out "DAN!" in response

"Ah, yes" the queen commented before finishing her proclamation "SIR DAN!" with that the lioness softly tapped each of Dan's shoulder blades with the plastic blade of the sword. The pup's eyes lit up and he giggled excitedly.

"Sir Dan, you ready to go inside?" Jay's voice caused Dan to turn around. His face still glowing with pride Dan shook his head up and down. The group said their goodbyes to the royal family and made their way into the fair.

Once inside a spectacular scene surrounded them. A landscape seemingly plucked out of medieval Europe, with hundreds of furs dressed in costume, doing their part to set the atmosphere.

Jay had made a mental map from previous years on where the group would go first, but he quickly found his plan foiled by the awestruck toddlers trying to run off and gaze at the most extravagant armor and robes the fairgoers had put together.

The group ended up spending most of the morning walking around the fair admiring the costumes. Every time the cubs seemed to be losing interest a new fur wearing a suit of runic armor would cross their path and the admiration would begin anew.

It was late morning before the three finally had their fill of costumes. Winded from all the walking Jay stopped the group to watch the royal jester's show. At the moment the jester was doing slapstick and physical comedy that the cubs were able to follow easily.

While the cubs laughed their heads off at the jester's act the kangaroo rat took a breather. They watched for the next half hour, until suddenly the jester decided to try a standup routine. Immediately he began talking about his wife and their home life. Knowing what was coming Jay rushed forward and scooted the cubs on to the next activity.

It was midday now and the food stalls were cooking up a storm. When the smell of freshly smoked meat and freshly roasted vegetables hit the group they were drawn to the irresistible aroma. Jay asked the cubs if they were hungry and the three nodded in unison. The kangaroo rat led the cubs to a wooden picnic table and sat them down.

"Alright Sir Dan, what looks good?" He asked the pup. Dan thought for a few moments before raising his paw and pointing at the red and white tent prominently displaying a wooden sign featuring a delectable looking turkey leg.

"Good choice!" Jay encouraged, he turned to Kiba next. "Kiba, what would you like?" Like Dan, Kiba pointed at the turkey leg tent. Jay gave Kiba a thumb up. Finally he turned to Mark. "Mark? What looks good?" The kit shuffled his shoulders before asking. "Can I have what you're having?"

"Sure!" Jay responded. Then the kangaroo rat stood up and walked to the turkey leg stand, turning every few seconds to make sure the cubs were behaving back at the table. When the tiger behind the stand acknowledge him Jay ordered two smoked turkey legs.

The tiger looked behind Jay and saw the two baby canines sitting. "Are you certain? Good sorcerer. My wares may be too much for little ones?" The vendor asked. Jay dismissed the vendor's comment with a reaffirmation. The tiger took a deep breath and presented two paw sized cardboard box plates.

After disappearing for a few seconds the Tiger returned to view holding two massive turkey legs. He placed one into each box. Jay's eyes widened at the size of the legs. "Turkey? Are you sure this didn't come from an ostrich?" he questioned.

"No sir, just the finest turkeys in the kingdom" Jay paid for the food and carried a box in each paw to the table. He sat the meal down in front of the two puppies, whose eyes were glowing and mouths watering at the approaching meat. The second Jay removed his paws from the boxes the two pups dug in.

For Mark and himself Jay ordered two ears of fried corn from one of the adjacent stalls. By comparison the corn wasn't even half the size of the turkey legs. Returning to the table with the corn Jay saw Dan and Kiba still happily chowing down. As the group ate three minstrels began filling the air with music.

The group relaxed to the music while enjoying their meal until every spec of food was gone. Jay had to take a handkerchief to wipe Dan and Kiba's faces as streams of succulent oil snaked down their chins. As soon as he put the handkerchief back in his pocket the minstrels stopped. After a split second of silence the roar of several trumpets filled the air with a heroic theme.

"Attention patrons of the royal fair! The King's Tournament of Heroes starts now!" a voice yelled out in an exaggerated accent.

Jay turned to his little bro and gave the pup a smile. "Ready to watch the knights duel? Sir Dan?" The pup screamed out an enthusiastic "YEAH!" and jumped to the ground. Kiba and Mark followed suite, and the group made their way to the tournament grounds.

Arriving at the tournament grounds Jay saw several stands filled with eager spectators. He marched his cubs down to furthest stand, wanting to make sure that his charges had room to move around and walk the wooden planks.

The group took their seats just as the first match began. Before they had a chance to fully situate themselves they were interrupted by the clashing of steel. In the center of the field two knights fully covered in plate armor and wielding colossal two-handed blades swung ferociously at each other.

In their well choreographed fight the two swapped blows, pushing one another back and forth. Each time one seemed to be gaining the upper hand the other would quickly dive out of the way. The lack of a counter-balance to the swinging knight's blade would cause the warrior to stumble forth, giving the other the precious time he needed to stand back up and prepare a new attack, bringing the battle back to a stalemate.

Jay saw Dan and Kiba watching the two fight, their eyes not blinking, their mouths hanging open in awe. Chuckling to himself Jay leaned over and said. "Make sure you two study their fighting style closely! These guys are the best of the best!" However; the pups seemed to completely ignore the kangaroo rat's existence.

Finally the duel ended. One of the knights was able to disarm the other. The disarmed knight held up his paws and knelt down. The stands erupted in cheers as the victorious knight made his way off the field. Afterwards, the defeated knight stood up and hung his head. Letting his sword drag behind him the poor fellow moped to a small side exit.

Again, loud trumpets thundered through the air. The next combatants entered the field to a round of wild applause. Dan stood up to clap and cheer as loud as he could, but before the cheering had stopped a deep 'Blorp!' came from deep within the pup's stomach. Causing Dan to quickly go quiet and sit down. The king shouted "BEGIN!" and the two knights charged towards each other.

After ten seconds of near-miss broad slashes the duelists blades' met. Following a split second pause the dueling knights jumped away from each other simultaneously. They began slowly circling around the field, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. In the absence of the clanging metal a tense silence fell over the crowd. For Jay, the silence was broken early. His attention was turned away from the tournament by soft whines coming from his left. He turned to see Dan squirming uncomfortably.

Dan held his paw over his abdomen as a series of gurgles and growls escaped from his stomach. The sounds accompanied a bubbly, slightly painful sensation that the pup knew well. Dan let out a soft "mmph" followed by a "ngh" before standing up and placing his toy sword on the bench. He placed the thumb of his free paw in his mouth and began softly sucking.

The little pup stood up began to toddle towards the edge of the stands. Halfway through his short trek a small puff of gas escaped from under his tail. Jay's ears picked up the nearly silent noise. It was all the confirmation he needed.

The kangaroo rat began scooting to the edge of the bleachers as Dan cautiously lowered himself onto the ground. When Dan's feet were firmly planted on the ground the pup removed his paw from his tummy and placed it on the edge of the stand. Now firmly balanced against the wood Dan squatted down and hiked his tail into the air.

Dan closed his eyes and started sucking on his thumb harder. He felt a paw gently lay on his head before making its way to his ear.

"mng...nggh" Dan felt a weight shift in the pit of his tummy. His tail flagged up, and another toot escaped. Dan squatted, and with the comforting sensation of Jay's paw helping him relax the little pup gave a big push.

A lump became visible in the pup's diaper, followed by another lump, and then another. "Ngh!" Dan exclaimed, as a soft crackling sound filled the air. Soon the three little lumps disappeared into a single large lump as Dan's diaper began sagging.

Streams of drool had begun to form around the pup's thumb as he unwrinkled his face. "Mrrrr..." Dan blissfully purred, as a shiver ran up his spine and the bubbling pain in his belly was replaced by a pleasant empty sensation. His tail returned to its former position and his diaper shifted downward under its newly found weight.

Dan opened his eyes just in time to see Jay's paws flying towards him. The kangaroo rat's paws slid under the pup's armpits and Dan found himself briefly hoisted in the air before settling down in the soft hold of Jay's arms.

"Sir Dan needs a change." Jay commented.

A look of disappointment washed over the pup's face. "But... I wanna watch the knights."

"Sorry little guy, this isn't something that can wait." Jay said while wrinkling his nose.

Dan didn't protest. As jay gathered Kiba and Mark the pup rested his head on Jay's shoulder. The group departed from the tournament grounds. Despite knowing the fair somewhat well Jay didn't know where they kept their diaper changing stations.

He searched the fairgrounds with no success. All the while carrying Dan in his arms in such a way that the mess wouldn't squish against the pup's rear. A side effect of this, however, was that anyone who looked their way could see the tell-tale bulge drooping from the seat of the little knight's diaper.

Having no luck finding a changing station on his own Jay reluctantly approached the currently patron less turkey leg stand. "Excuse me; are there any diaper changing stations on the fairgrounds?" He asked.

The tiger managing the stand didn't respond immediately. He looked at the messy bulge in Dan's diaper before turning to Jay and cocking an eyebrow.

A little smirk came across the tiger's face and he pointed to the west away from his tent. "The privy is that way." With that the tiger turned his back stepped out of sight. Jay felt miffed that the vendor had decided to give a silent 'I told you so' but the kangaroo rat had more pressing things to worry about.

Jay hurried to the large wooden building housing the fair's toilets. The diaper changing stations were separated from the restrooms themselves. Jay walked the width of the building until reaching the last door marked with a silhouette of a diapered infant.

Opening the door Jay took a look inside. The 'stations' were really just one long counter separated by tiny wooden walls, not too terribly different from a bathroom stall. Before entering Jay looked down to make sure the other cubs were still with him. Mark was still by his side, but he didn't see Kiba.

A brief panic went through the kangaroo rat as he turned away from the door. The panic quickly faded when he saw the little timber wolf pup a few feet back. Kiba was standing still with his eyes closed and his tail tucked between his crossed legs.

"Kiba? Are you okay?" Jay asked.

"Mmph... I'm a Viking! I'm always fine!" the pup responded with a forced confidence.

The wolf pup sprinted towards Jay. With everyone together the group entered the changing room. Jay found the nearest free 'stall' and rolled out a mobile changing mat before carefully laying Dan down. He rolled up the sleeves on his jacket and placed the diaper bag in an empty space on the counter. With no further preparations he untapped Dan's diaper and got to work.

Kiba let out a light whimper as another harsh cramp hit his belly. Normally the wolf pup had no problem with messing in public, but he was a fearsome Viking right now, and he didn't want to spoil the image. Looking back and forth the wolf pup searched for a good place to hide and let go, unfortunately the room offered no respite.

Rapidly running out of time Kiba looked towards the group. Jay had just gotten Dan's diaper off and was beginning to clean the puppy. Mark was standing on the other side of the kangaroo rat staring at the floor and sucking his thumb. Maybe the group wouldn't notice him?

Out of options Kiba hurried as best he could to a dimly lit corner of the room. As he reached the corner he turned to see if anyone was watching thankfully the coast was still clear. Kiba squatted down and relaxed. "mmph!" he softly grunted as he gave his bowels a firm push, shortly following he felt the mess begin entering his diaper seat.

"Ngh..." Kiba grunted giving his bowels another push as the wolf pup's diaper began to slightly sag.

Mark, who had so far patiently waited next to Jay, was beginning to feel pangs of boredom. He looked up at his babysitter and saw that the kangaroo rat was still in the midst of cleaning Dan. With a slight sigh the raccoon kit looked around the room and spotted Kiba squatting in the corner.

Walking over to his friend Mark began talking. "Hey, Kiba, did you see..." the kit cut himself off as a rank smell hit his nose. Covering his nose with his paws Mark exclaimed "Pew!"

Kiba turned to his friend and blushed slightly. He didn't want anyone to see him, but he was far too into it now to stop. "pppbbbhhhtttt" The wolf cub farted as more of the mess came. At this point the bulge in Kiba's diaper was causing not only his diaper but his costume pants to droop downwards. Thankfully, Jay had the foresight to make sure the pants were loose fitting and flexible.

Mark scampered over to Jay and began tugging on the caretaker's long blue jacket. Now powdering Dan's bottom Jay didn't turn to face the cub. "Mark? Please wait for me to finish changing Dan."

"Mr. Jay! Kiba is POOPING!" The kit shouted out, causing Jay to look up suddenly. At the same time the wolf pup let out a light "yip!" as he realized what his friend had just done. Kiba felt Jay's eyes fall on him, and the wolf pup's face flushed with embarrassment when he heard his babysitter exclaim "Whoa!" upon seeing Kiba's expanded pants.

Jay taped up Dan's diaper and set the pup on the floor. He dashed over to the corner of the room and picked Kiba up in his arms. The poor wolf pup was blushing beet red gently sucking on his thumb.

Jay laid Kiba on the counter and began slowly undoing the lower part of the pup's costume. Unfortunately Kiba's costume was a great deal more intricate than Dan's forcing Jay to slowly navigate around undoing the links on the pup's trophy belt all while trying not to spread the mess.

Finally, the belt was removed and Jay put it to the side. He opened up Kiba's diaper and exclaimed. "Wow Kiba, you don't have to be ferocious in everything!" Kiba's eyebrows shot up and he locked eyes with his babysitter.

Jay grinned inwardly. "I mean, most Vikings are just fearsome in battle. But you? You're a fearsome fighter, eater, and even a fearsome pooper! What are you, some kind of super Viking?"

Kiba smiled and began to giggle at Jay's unique praise. Hearing the kind words instantly lifted the pup back to his old, cheery self and the pup happily waited while Jay cleaned and powdered his rear.

Once finished Jay set Kiba on the ground and commented. "The warriors are ready for action again." Dan and Kiba nodded at Jay before turning to each other and raising their toy weapons. Now fully refreshed the two pups began gently play dueling.

Thinking that their time in the changing room was done mark began toddling towards the door. The raccoon kit made it a few steps before he felt a sudden draft as the backside of his robe was lifted into the air. "Let's see if I'm three for three." Jay playfully commented before pulling back the waistband on Mark's pants and peeking in.

"I...I didn't poop..." Mark protested. Jay removed his finger from the kit's waistband and let the robe fall back in place. "I can see that. Well done, apprentice!" Mark smiled and uttered a "fanks" before trying to walk forward again.

Rather than walking forward Mark found himself being hoisted into the air. "but! It looks like all your stars are gone! Did you miss-cast a water spell?" The kangaroo rat teased.

The two pups continued their play duel as the kit took his turn on the counter. Once finished Jay put the kit on the ground and put his supplies away before large diaper bag over his shoulder. He led the cubs out of the musty changing room and back into the fresh air of the fair.

The sun was beginning to hang low in the sky as Day started to turn to dusk. The group returned to the tournament grounds to see only a two combatants standing. During their time away the dread black knight had attacked the tournament and defeated every warrior, save for the former grand champion, the dragon knight.

The group reached their seats just in time for the two to engage each other. They slashed at each other with such force that a circle of fire bloomed around them. Their clashes and parries seemed to shake the ground itself, and the cubs ate up every minute of it.

Finally, after what seemed like hours of intense fighting, the brave dragon knight ran the evil black knight through, and the ground erupted into applause. With the main show over and their ride arriving soon Jay took the cubs to fair's smith and bought each a new weapon to remember the day by.

For Kiba he bought a large, plastic, obsidian battle axe. In case the little wolf ever wanted to try a two handed weapon. For Dan, Jay purchased a finely cut wooden sword, sanded to perfection and lovingly painted to look as real as possible it would make a fine addition to the pup's collection. Finally, the kangaroo rat got his newly found apprentice a magic wand. Covered in plastic feathers and fake gemstones it would be a useful tool for a new user of the arcane.

Jay led the tired cubs to the edge of the meadow where they had started their journey. The four sat in the grass and discussed the day until a familiar light blue van drove up. The van came to a stop and the middle row door opened. Jay diligently secured each of the cubs into their car seats and hopped in the front passenger side.

Buckling his seatbelt Jay turned around to speak, only to quickly silence himself upon seeing the three boys barely hanging onto their consciousness. The kangaroo rat held a finger up to his lips, letting his friend know that the two adults needed to keep quiet and let the little ones sleep. His friend nodded, and Jay relaxed in his seat as the van began the trip home.
