Older short series that I was working on, may revive it if enough people show interest in the intro and character build up.

"I did exactly what you asked me boss." Said the twitching little Imp. "I got you the bodies' boss."

I loathed demons... they were always butting in. Offering ultimate power that I already possessed. Trying to make deals with the mage that defied Death and defeated his reapers. I was beyond even the greatest of their number, stronger than the devil. No... a god. My magic raised the dead and bent the will of the living to my every whim, including the wills demons. Lesser demons made decent slaves, less cocky, more agile than the undead, had more useful skills than the living but were still just as easy to control. However, they lacked the finery that my omnipotence demanded.

"What have I told you Kogg?" I ask as I give him a disgusted look. "I am your master, your lord, your god on Earth."

"I... I'm sorry my lord!" Kogg says as fear descends upon him. "Please, please don't kill me!"

"I have no intention of killing you, Kogg." I say as I turn away from him.

"Oh thank you master!" He exclaims as he falls to the ground and bows. "All hail the Magus Aren! By his will alone do we live and die!"

"Indeed." I say with a smile. "Vorsha... Ixem... your dinner is served."

At my command my precious abominations step out of the shadows. The snarl and ungulate other terrifying noises as the begin circling the tiny imp. Shining claws and fangs of black steel glint in the light. Quivering flesh; rotten, singed and smoking lumbers on dead bones. Eyes of white hot coals that burn into the very soul. Tails of jagged bone and metal waiting to tear through the skin.

"MASTER! PLEASE NO!" Kogg says as tears roll down his face. "You said you weren't going to kill me!"

"Yes, and I don't believe I will be the one that does." I say as I scowl at the crying demon. "I am your god after all... don't think of it as death. Think of it as judgement."

I snap my fingers and my pets' spring upon him. They tear him asunder while his demonic shrieking and their powerful snarls echo through the halls of my castle. The other demons present grimace and cower at the sight. I must admire my own work, they are glorious creatures and are very effective tools. I observe, even as they choking down the last bits of the useless imp.

"Grig." I say as my pets lick the tiny demons blood off the floor.

"Yes my lord?" The tiny imp says as he steps forward, being careful to avert his gaze.

"You're now my personal assistant." I say in a monotone voice. "You are responsible for all of Kogg's former duties."

"I... I am honored my lord." The imp says as he bows.

"Follow me, we have work to do." I say as I leave the chambers. "I need you to prep the bodies for experimentation."

"Of course master." He says as he takes flight. "It will be done immediately."

"Grig." I say sternly.

"Y-Yes my master?" The imp says as he turns slowly.

"I shouldn't have to tell you not to fail me." I say as I look him in the eyes. "But that is an inevitability. You will help me memorize your replacements name... you all look alike to me and I doubt I would recognize them by appearance."

"... Yes... Master." The imp says with a terrified voice.

He flies away quickly and I smile to myself. Fear... is such a precious thing to behold. Dead to my left, demons to my right and mortal slaves toiling away where they can. All were either raised or bent to my will and every whim. I was granted this amazing power in order to rule, not as a man, not even as a king, but as an all-powerful god. Soon my army would be complete and the world will feel my sweet malevolence wash over it. I would be feared and adored as life and death.

"All hail Aren! Magus Necrosis!" I shout at the top of my lungs.

"All hail Aren! Magus Necrosis! We live, die and rise again by his decree!" Shout the souls within my keep.

I laugh, like the vengeful, tyrant god that I am. No mortal has stood against me and not been swayed to my side. The dead raise from their crypts and tombs whenever I am near, without my even desiring so. Demons were easily bent to my will and feared me as if I were the Devil himself. Even after defeating a dozen Reapers, it seems that Death himself fears my glorious power... Truly, nothing can stand in my way.

"Remember thou art mortal Aren... His power is great and he may fancy himself a god, but this only a false dream. Fear him? Why should I? Not once have I been afraid, nor shall I start now. You might ask about my Reapers, well not even they are beyond my icy grasp. Nay, not even Aren as you will see in the following pages. Nay, not even you reader... For I come for all souls. And upon the blades of Death these words appear:Quando video opera die, gaudeo... When I see the works of god, I rejoice.
