Nanaue
#22 of Quickies
I read the Nanaue mythology ages ago. Naturally a guy transforming into a shark was right up my alley. Ending was kind of a downer though.
I decided to put my own spin on things, and while it didn't come out quite as I originally intended (the short description I had on hand was completely different from what was actually there, and I used none of my reference pictures at all), I kind of liked how it turned out: the start of a bit of a weird older/younger guy relationship which, for all its obvious problems and awkwardness, might actually work out.
tl;dr fucking a shark guy is awkward
"I want it to blend in," Dr. Hind declared, thumbing through Frank's sketchbook. The old man looked up, shoving one finger deliberately back at the hotel. "Not like this eyesore!"
Frank grinned. He'd always dreaded getting a Hawaiian job: his head was full of fond childhood memories, until his parents had whisked him away. Coming back, you'd almost always see how things changed, and they never seemed to be for the better. It was a bad way to ruin the gloriously vibrant memories of a happy childhood.
"Leave it up to a Kama'aina to get me to come back," Frank thought, a broad grin spreading across his face as he listened to Dr. Hind berating the hotel. Still baffled as to why, if he hated the hotel so much, that he'd chosen to arrange their meeting here, Frank decided to ignore the impulse to intrude and inquired, "Do you see anything you like?"
"You've got a good eye," Dr. Hind noted. Seeming to want to get back on his original train, he growled, to Frank's amusement. "All these rich people have ruined a lot of Hawaii. Grabbing up bits and pieces of it for themselves, then aren't even here most of the year, and when they do, they don't even try to get involved in the community!"
It wasn't as if Dr. Hind was exactly poor himself. Frank had initially only come as an excuse to revisit his old stomping grounds after turning down the enigmatic offering. But Dr. Hind had reminded him so much of his grandfather - he hadn't asked, but they'd probably known each other - that he'd stuck around, sketched up some ideas from some photos and videos of Dr. Hind's land, and meet in what they both thankfully agreed was a particularly hideous hotel.
Frank was supposed to design a private museum-slash-archive that would try to keep bits of the "old Hawaii" alive for as long as the Hind Trust lasted, along with a pretty sizeable chunk of land that would be essentially opened to the public, while still being worked as a ranch by one of Dr. Hind's sons and some locals.
"I should probably let you get to the airport," Dr. Hind mumbled, handing back the sketchbook. "Let you see what's become of, Hilo was it?"
Frank breathed out heavily, correcting the old man. "Kona." Just saying it popped up the memories of him, as a little boy not even ten years old, tagging along with Dad to this or that construction site. This odd-in-retrospect parenting choice seeded Frank's developing mind with what would be his future career.
"You've got the directions?" Dr. Hind asked. It would have been natural for Dr. Hind to have escorted Frank there himself, but the old man's daughter was getting married on the mainland and was going to be away for a couple of weeks. "One of the younger boys will probably come over and get you, but you can't rely on young people these days, can you?"
Biting his lips to stop from laughing, Frank nodded.

The flight from Oahu was pleasantly fast; Frank stood outside of Kona International, amazed that it looked more or less the same as he remembered it, at least on the outside. Inside things were a lot more stringent, of course. He frowned.
Glancing at the street, Frank wondered whether he should call for a cab when he caught sight of his name on a piece of paper being held up by a young man who was at least a little bit native Hawaiian: short-cut black hair, brown skin and even browner eyes, a wide, handsome nose, and plump lips that he was biting. He had a nice shape too. Frank found himself trying to imagine what was exactly underneath that casually-buttoned collared shirt that formed a nice V-shape from his broad shoulders down to his hips, and the slightly-dirtied black belted suit pants.
"Come on," Frank chided himself. "You're here to work, not play around with cute young guys." Waving, he approached the young Hawaiian man and offered his hand, "Hi, I'm Frank."
Dark brown eyes snapped on to Frank. They gave him a chill: they were almost black. There was a nasty looking glint in his eye: most people, Frank guessed, probably wouldn't have picked up on it. But then, most people hadn't had the life Frank had had. This guy was interested in something, but Frank wasn't too sure he wanted to know exactly how. "Cool," the young man finally said, obviously not believing it, "I'm Nan."
"Nan?" Frank repeated. He thought, "Funny name for a guy, probably a nickname or something."
"If you were expecting Kamanawa," Nan explained, trying to transfix Frank's eyes with his sparkling dark ones, "my cousin's the epitome of the lazy islander trope."
"No, no," Frank insisted, "I wasn't sure who to expect. I just want to make sure I get your name right."
"Not exactly Frank, is it?" Nan stated, his voice having a curious edge to it.
"Not in most places," Frank replied coolly. He thought he'd figured a little bit out: Nan didn't like haole very much, and Frank wasn't interested in playing that game. "I know you'd probably like to get back to the ranch soon, but I'd like to drop my stuff off at the hotel and grab some shave ice."
Frank got the reaction he'd been fishing for: Nan's eyes narrowed just a bit, now that he wasn't so sure of himself. "You've been here before?" Nan asked, finally turning to head towards a pickup with a dirty undercarriage.
"I used to live here," Frank clarified, "when I was a kid. In Kona, actually."
"No shit!" Nan replied, on eye opening in surprise.
Frank loaded his stuff into the back of the truck, while Nan got it started. The radio seemed to be in the middle of a news report, which Nan shut off abruptly.

Whenever he travelled, Frank found it was always best once he'd been "checked in" to wherever he was staying, formally or informally. You then had a base from which to work from, a place to relax and unwind.
It didn't matter too much where he stayed on the Big Island, since everything was more or less a couple of hours' drive away. Hilo was, technically, closer to the ranch, but Frank plumped for a hotel in Kona over Hilo. Even though he fully intended to spend time in the main city soaking up the current culture, Kona was, however, a more personal choice. He planned on seeing who had moved into his old house, poke around at some of the places his child self had been intimately familiar with but had probably changed beyond comprehension.
He eyed the shower hungrily, before quickly locking what he wasn't taking with him that afternoon. Bathing would have to wait: Nan was waiting downstairs.
An intense image flashed into Frank's head; he quickly focused, waiting for his arousal to subside. Nan was - going by the fact he drove - at most seven or eight years younger than him. If it was going to go anywhere, it'd be a fling, and that could lead to a whole mess of things.
"Ugh," Frank grunted, dissatisfied. "Those dark eyes, though." Frank had had a thing for very intense men for as long as he could remember. Nan was attractive, and pushing all of his buttons. Had circumstances been different, Frank might have done something. But this would be appropriate.

"How do you know Papa Hind?" Nan asked, finally breaking the more-or-less one-sided conversation Frank had been having at him. Beautiful purple and white flowers bloomed on bushes off the side of the road, blurring together slightly as Nan drove around, the windows down.
"I don't," Frank confessed, "at least not especially. I probably would have heard of him, if I was old enough to pay attention."
The drive was odd: everything was, more or less, how he remembered it. He didn't remember the drive to Hilo very well, but after a shave ice detour, they took a route that went as close to Frank's old place without going out of the way. The big problem was the "less" part: the cars felt all wrong - too new - and the people talking and texting on their phones.
"What about you?" Frank asked absent-mindedly, trying to focus on the side of the road. He remembered playing in a small, very isolated park somewhere. But that "somewhere" could have been anywhere on the island.
"My mother," Nan stated, very quickly and matter-of-factly. "I think she's distantly related to Papa Hind, but then maybe not."
If he was trying to hint at something, Frank didn't pick up on it. He had other things on his mind: mainly about how much - or rather, how little - he seemed to remember. He'd been looking for the initials written out in white pumice that you could see from the road, but couldn't remember exactly where, and there were a lot of areas covered in volcanic rock, so geography wasn't going to help too much. He asked about the beach near the J C Penney's, but Nan gave him an odd look.
Frank frowned: they stopped for a shave ice, since he'd asked for one, but his interest in nostalgia had taken a serious hit. He hadn't expected Hawaii to sit still without him, but it felt pretty shitty to be a stranger in a place you grew up in.
"Just one more stop," Frank stated, chucking out the half-finished cone. "I promise."
He knew his family's old house was still there, decades after he'd last been in it. He didn't know who lived there now, and only barely remembered the name of one of the nearby streets, using Street View to track down the exact address. Leaving Nan in the truck, Frank walked a little ways up the driveway, and saw the state of the house and the lawn. Turning back, he stated, "Yeah, let's go."
The rest of the trip was silent. Frank felt unstuck. "I shouldn't have come back," he thought. The house was the last straw: that was the first home he ever remembered. His parents always kept it so neat and clean. He remembered it all perfectly clearly, and the house more or less looked the same. Whoever had it now didn't seem to care. His fingers curled around the door, wind sweeping over his fingers as his grip tightened, denting the metal frame.
Thankfully, the rest of Hawaii, including the Hind estate, wasn't familiar to him at all. It made it a bit easier to disconnect and calm down. Nan was either fine with silence, or was socially clued enough not to push on an issue. Turning along the drive, they went past the main house, heading along to a small cluster of more modest houses farther along the drive. "Hope you don't mind," Nan replied, "I need to get changed and get back to work, so I'm going to drop you off at Mom's. She can take you up to the house if you want."
"Fine," Frank nearly growled. Nan glanced at him curiously, but kept driving. The smaller houses were quite nice: they weren't architectural masterpieces of any kind, but they reminded Frank a lot more of home than his childhood house had.
"I really shouldn't get angry," Frank chided himself as he followed Nan past big hibiscus plants that someone had been looking after for a while.
"Mom, we're back," Nan announced as they approached the small house.
"Hey Nan," Nan's mom answered. An odd stirring tingled through his mind as she walked out, kissing Nan as he walked in. "Who's we?"
Frank introduced himself, which got a big grin out of Nan's mother. "No way!" she exclaimed, hugging an awkward Frank. "Now you probably don't remember," she explained, "but I taught you at preschool!"
The light of recognition finally stopped flickering and turned on. "Oh yeah!" Frank replied. "I thought you looked familiar, I just couldn't place where." He chuckled, "I'm really surprised you recognised me at all."
"Ha ha, no," she answered, "you're a lot bigger than when I saw you in person. But your grandma always kept in touch, so we had a lot of pictures."
"Of course," Frank groaned slightly, feeling his face blushing red. Somehow, even after she'd died, his grandmother was still able to embarrass him with her bragging about her special boy.
Nan had disappeared into the house as the two caught up. He must have changed quickly, emerging from the house in labourer's gear. Frank licked his lips: it was kind of awkward to lust after the son of your preschool teacher, especially when she was standing right there in front of you. He coughed awkwardly, using it as an excuse to turn his head away as Nan's nice, firm butt stopped waggling in front of his face. Pulling on some boots, Nan half-ordered, "Can you look after him, Mom? I gotta get back to work."
Nan's mother looked at him with narrow eyes, and said, "Sure, be careful, and I'll see you later."
"Yeah, yeah," Nan answered, eyes lingering on Frank for a moment, judging him, before heading off.
"You'll have to excuse Nan," his mother said as he stomped away. "He's, well, he's a very intense boy."
"I definitely got that impression," Frank answered. "Though I'm pretty sure he's good, really, Mrs, uh, Miss...?"
"Just call me Kalei," Nan's mother suggested. "I haven't been your teacher for a long time. But maybe just don't let on to everyone else that it's been that long!"
Frank laughed, as Kalei walked with him up to the main house. It was nice, after the experience that he had, to have someone who actually remembered the Hawaii he knew. Just knowing he wasn't imagining things made him feel less crazy.
When Frank explained why he was back, Kalei chuckled. "I seem to remember, now, having to yell at you for drawing where you weren't supposed to."
"Guess I didn't really grow out of that," Frank quipped, smiling. He could see it now: sitting with another little blond boy that he'd been friends with - his name gone into the mists of time - drawing fan art of Danger Mouse or some other cartoon that was popular at the time. More memories popped into his head. One had him looking out at the camera as his dad took a picture of him on his first day at pre-school, walking down the wooden steps onto the driveway. She also got him in trouble when he went skipping past the classrooms. There was something about ants in the play area.
"So you're working for Dr. Hind, then?" Kalei asked, after the jokes had cut off for a bit.
"Yeah," Frank answered. "He wanted me to design a place that would let people know about the 'old Hawaii', as he puts it."
"Not many people care about that any more," observed Kalei.
Frank nodded, although he thought she was keeping something from him. "People have to keep moving with the times, but I guess most of us want to keep the good times alive. Just that most people don't have Hind money to be able to afford to."
They talked about some of Frank's other jobs, and on Kalei's post-preschool-teacher life. She'd met Nan's father - a very handsome native Hawaiian man calling himself Kamo - had rescued her while out swimming. The two of them had a brief fling, getting married. "It got a bit complicated after that," Kalei concluded mysteriously. Frank nodded, satisfied with that ending: he'd been in love before when things had gotten strange, so knew when an incomplete answer was enough.
Pulling out his tools, Frank went to work while Kalei decided to watch. He sketched the area, taking measurements with tape and making notes by his drawings. Dr. Hind had supplied him with geological and historic meteorological reports, all inputs into Frank's process.
Taking a break, Frank offered to sketch Kalei; she was a little vain and worried about looking old and haggard, but Frank managed to convince her to agreeing to a basic sketch she could have a final say over. "I didn't really notice before," he observed, "that Nan has your face; elements of it, anyway."
"Nanaue takes after him a lot," Kalei mentioned, sighing. "It worries me sometimes. I guess it's a mother's right to." Frank nodded, knowing not to press the issue too much.
Kalei had some chores to do, so Frank decided to make more sketches of the property, trying to get a feel for it. "I like it," he decided: a beautiful place with a solid design from whenever the Hinds first settled here, with enough modern touches to maintain its liveability without sacrificing on the old aesthetic.
Continuing to hunt for inspiration, Frank wandered over towards the fences cutting off the residential part of the estate from the agricultural. His stomach rumbled as he looked into the distance of the sloping hills as cattle try to graze on the short grass. Licking his lips, he prowled along the perimeter, scratching at himself, suddenly sweaty and itchy from the wet warmth in the air.
"Looking for something?" a stern voice asked. Frank jolted, as though the fence was suddenly electrified and he had grazed up against it. Nan glared at him, bounding as gracefully as a deer as he walked down the hill.
"Inspiration," Frank confessed, trying to pull his mind back from wherever he'd let it wander. "I've seen the pictures, but there's difference from seeing something and feeling it."
"Maybe you ought to just stick to seeing things," Nan suggested curtly. "Animals can be dangerous if startled."
Frank tried and failed to suppress a grin, which turned into a laugh. Nan's seriousness faded into confusion; clearly it wasn't the response the young Hawaiian man was expecting, which struck Frank the right way, intensifying his laughter.
~ * ~ * ~
Skulking around in his hotel room, Frank felt the towel's fibres rubbing up against his naked waist. Since he'd returned from the Hind estate, he had been too wired to concentrate.
Everything about it felt wrong. Nan was serious, far too serious for his age. Then there was his age, or moreso the gap between it and Frank's. Adding on the fact he knew his mother, although very tenuously. Alarm bells were ringing in his head, even though Nan had been the one that had suggested meeting up that evening. It wasn't a date as such - Frank had learned not to make that assumption long ago - but the younger man was intriguing, and Frank felt almost compelled to at least see if Nan would be interested in something a little bit more than a "get-to-know-you" dinner.
Just thinking about him made Frank's cock push out the towel, the coarse material heavily stimulating the tip underneath. After the flight over, Frank had intended on "relaxing" when he'd returned to the hotel, but on the chance tonight might change into something else, he'd wanted to keep his energy up.
Moaning, Frank looked down at the shirt he'd had carefully laid out on the bed. Picking it up, he checked out how it looked in the mirror before sliding it on. He frowned: had he really put on that much weight? Frank couldn't button up the shirt fast enough.
Undoing the towel, he draped it over the chair, admiring his cock. Even though his body might disappoint, this was at least substantial. It wasn't ridiculously enormous, but it was nice and thick; just the right size and shape to be fun and, more importantly, enticing to play with once you got to see it. Slipping his feet through the holes in his boxer shorts, he pulled it up, tucking his cock inside. The fabric bulged pleasantly, and Frank let out a contented sigh before he put on his jeans.
The hotel's phone on the desk blared. "Shit!" Frank swore, looking down at his bare feet sinking gently into the carpet. His eyes gleamed as they scanned the room for socks as he walked over to the phone. Sure enough, it was one of the lovely local girls from reception, letting him know that he had a guest waiting for him down in the lobby. "I'll be right down!" he promised, thanking the young woman before hanging up.
A frantic search later, and Frank was hunched over, feet disappearing into the blackness of his socks, then dipping into the loosened openings of his shoes. As he did up the laces, he wondered if perhaps he was overdressed: it was hot outside, but it had been some time since he'd dated, that it felt right to dress up in a more formal way. "Besides, you need to show the young guys how it's done," his brain added, icily. "Shove it," he told himself, leaping to his feet. Checking his pockets for his phone, wallet and keys, he headed towards the elevator.
Frank tapped the bulging contents of his pockets as he waited for the elevator. His stomach felt all nervous, his heart pounding in his chest. All he could think of was the remote chance Nan would be interested in going further; then he might finally get a glimpse of his obviously toned body. With a manual labourer's job, he could already see those brown, taut abdominals flexing as Frank's imagined version of Nan pulling off his shirt.
As the elevator doors swung open, Frank's thoughts had wandered tangentially as he stood aside for a party of handsome, young surfers spilled out of the elevators, tanned toned torsos, lean and fit, exposed, a mixture of tattooed and clean arms clutching on to their boards. Hawaii's weather was pleasant enough that you could get away without wearing a shirt. Why hadn't he seen Nan shirtless? Surely it would have been faster for him to change, and get back to work, if he'd removed it while walking into the house? "Maybe he's just shy, or self-conscious?" Frank wondered. He licked his lips, thinking about how much fun you could have with a shy guy. He certainly had some fond memories at that age.
Nan was pacing around in the lobby when the elevators opened up. It wasn't fast or nervous-looking: Nan moved deliberately, almost like he was gliding across the floor. "Hey, Nan," Frank called out with a wave and walked to intercept him.
"Hey, Frank," replied Nan, who was dressed in a loose-fitting shirt, jeans and flip-flops. "You're a little overdressed."
"Sorry, I wasn't sure where we were going," Frank explained.
"There's a rocky little beach that I know," Nan said, "A nice snorkelling spot. Not a lot of people know about it at all. I've got stuff in the pick-up."
"Sounds great," Frank nodded, mind imagining a nice, romantic little picnic, possibly followed up by some moonlit skinny-dipping. Following Nan out to the truck, he coughed and asked, "So, Nan, uh, about tonight?"
"Yeah?" Nan responded.
"I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page about tonight," Frank confessed, "and, uh, whether we're both expecting the same thing."
"I know what you want," Nan replied, the truck doors unlocking. "You didn't hide what you were as well as you think." Frank's hand froze for a moment, but he opened the door and got in anyway.
"So, uh," Frank wondered, "does your mother know about, eh, this evening?"
"Do you keep your mother apprised about everything you do?" countered Nan.
Frank observed, "Mine's not waiting for me back in the hotel room."
"She knows I'm going out," Nan answered. "Doesn't know with whom. Doesn't know where. Probably doesn't care too much, as long as I'm back home tomorrow morning. Don't worry, I'm not going to tell her about you. Although it seems I don't need to, since you two seem awfully chummy already."
"Well, she knew me when I was a kid. She probably knows my family better than me specifically," argued Frank, worrying that the "date" hadn't been going terribly well. "My grandmother still has a lot of friends on the Big Island."
"When did you leave?" asked Nan.
"Back when I was eleven or twelve," Frank replied. "We moved to the mainland, mostly around a bunch of small rural towns in the Pacific Northwest while my dad built houses for wealthy people around there and in California."
"Hawaii not got enough rich people wanting houses built?" Nan probed.
Frank thought before answering. He was starting to regret having come out on this date. As hot as Nan was - and he certainly was - his attitude wasn't particularly inspiring. The night felt more like an interrogation, and he was starting to feel uncomfortable.
"I guess not," Frank lied. He glanced over, seeing something - a slight smile, perhaps - on the corner of Nan's mouth that was there one moment and gone the next. "So, where's this beach, or wherever you're taking us?"
"It's a bit of a drive," Nan confessed, hand gesturing out towards the sunset-coloured sky, "but it's not much farther." The conversation petered out for a while, and the two drove in silence, until Nan decided to turn on the radio. The music was certainly a welcome distraction, allowing Frank's mind to come down from being on edge long enough for him to relax again.
Eventually, Frank felt compelled to talk; after all, he thought, it was supposed to be a date, and asked, "Have you done this before?"
"I go swimming there at night all the time," Nan answered, sounding surprised to be asked.
Frank grinned, "I meant, going out with someone else."
"Oh, that," Nan considered. He thought for a while, then replied, "Not really, no."
"Really?!" Frank exclaimed. "I would have thought you'd be in demand. You're very attractive: you've got a nice body from what I've seen so far, and you've got a handsome face. I'd have thought the guys and girls would have been all over you." To Frank's surprise, he sensed Nan squirm. "Finally caught you on the wrong foot for once," he thought, smiling to himself.
"I'm not really a people person," Nan explained. "I don't really fit in."
"No shit," joked Frank. He sighed and went on, "I'm not either, really."
They'd pulled off the highway, the truck's beams illuminating the gravel path they turned off of. Frank felt apprehension rising up inside him, clawing at his throat, making it difficult to breathe. He was suddenly nervous: he was sure he could take care of himself if things came to that, but uncertainty grew in him as they travelled down the dark road.
They didn't travel far after turning off, though: it was only a few more minutes before Nan was pushing down on the brakes, the truck rolling to a halt. Before them sat the ocean, a glittering golden pool, darkening shadows creeping in from the edges as the sun sank further down below the horizon.
"Here we are," announced Nan, his face impassive but his eyes almost glowing with excitement. With one smooth movement, he'd unbuckled himself, opened the door and slid his feet onto the ground below, quickly taking off his footwear to leave behind.
Frank hurried to catch up, since Nan seemed as close to excited as Frank had ever seen him, and he started to hope his mood would improve. Following Nan's example, he took off his shoes and socks, rolling up his pants legs until they rested comfortably above his knees. Shutting the door behind him - Frank noting Nan didn't seem to care about locking the cab, or even taking the keys out of the ignition - Frank stepped carefully over the rocks, shimmering with wetness, as he tried to catch up with Nan over the unfamiliar rocks.
There wasn't really much of a chance: Nan obviously knew this area intimately, and had reached the water's edge. Frank watched as he crouched, expecting the young man to remove his shirt and finally show off the nice firm body Frank had been yearning to see. Instead, he moved straight onto his pants.
"I hope you don't mind my asking," Frank put out into the open, "but do you have scars or something?"
"Scars?" Nan wondered, two lovely brown buttocks springing into the warm night air as he squatted down to remove his pants. "Probably a few, but nothing major. Why?"
"I just wondered," Frank explained, following Nan's example and disrobing, although he started with his shirt, "why I haven't seen you shirtless before now."
"We only just met," Nan pointed out, standing up. Frank was slightly distracted from the answer: they had only just met but he was looking at the side of a thick, wide uncut cock and a pair of oddly-smooth balls hanging in a sack that had started to pull up against his body in anticipation of going into the cool water.
"Oh, no," Frank laughed, after he realised he probably shouldn't have his tongue hanging out too much like a thirsty dog quite yet. "It just seems odd, I guess, for a guy as attractive as you to want to hide your body so much. I thought, well, maybe you got scarred up somehow."
"It's more like a birthmark," Nan elaborated, genuinely smiling, although with a slightly sinister edge. He walked to the edge of the water, feet disappearing as he stepped easily over the slippery rocks.
Frank unzipped his pants, looking at Nan's behind as he continued to step out into the water, then suddenly disappearing as he reached the edge of the rocks and slipped completely under the water. Wobbling out of his underwear, Frank crept down further, feeling his cock stiffen after having been freed. It felt so wrong, in so many ways, but that just added to the strange appeal.
"Nan?" Frank called out; he'd expected the young man to resurface almost immediately, but he'd stayed submerged. The apprehension returned: Frank new even expert swimmers could drown, and although he was sure Nan could swim expertly - he lived on Hawaii after all - he might have gotten careless with the company. He yelped a bit as something bobbed up to the surface, though laughed when he realised the billowing thing was just Nan's discarded shirt.
Although Frank was a confident swimmer, it had been some time since he'd been out in the ocean, so inched forward, the folds of extra weight on his body creasing together as he squatted and tiptoed, feet searching for the edge.
At least, until something grabbed Frank's foot.
He hissed, jumping backwards on the stones. The thing that had grabbed him had definitely not been human: its skin was too coarse for that, and the fingernails too short. While Frank backed up, crawling across the stones, his heart started to pound faster. Too fast. He felt the panic eat away at his natural reserves, kept at bay by a thinning wall of self-control.
The inhuman head that bobbed up to the surface smashed through that wall like a wrecking ball. It launched out of the water, wide and gleaming. Huge black eyes stared almost sightlessly as Frank continued to scramble back up, away from the water, teeth gritting together. The head was huge, the large, toothy mouth easily able to swallow a human whole. The pointed end looked almost like a nose, but Frank had seen sharks enough before not to make that mistake.
He hadn't expected the shark to have arms though.
As they popped out of the water, webbed and almost clawed with jagged fingers, the creature's massive chest of smooth, thick muscle came into view. The shoulders looked distended, probably to make way for the large pale throat that ran down into the massive torso that rose up. Frank didn't need to see the huge, threatening dorsal fin slicing out of the water as the creature eyed him hungrily.
Then Frank felt the weird surge - a surge he'd been repressing for so long that he'd almost, but not quite, forgotten it - and what he hoped was to the great surprise of the shark-man clamouring out of the water towards him, asked, "So, you going to show me your shark dick now, huh?"
A shark's eyes aren't particularly expressive, but Frank could tell there was definitely surprise in the human parts hiding behind them as he seemed to disappear into the darkness. His body itched, his fur growing in quickly. He yawned, curling his fingers as he felt his nails push out. A giddiness washed over Frank, who kept laughing, stretching himself as he eased into his transformation, snarling as he reached down with his clawed hands, stroking his cock as it continued to thicken under his touch.
Frank's body was burning now, eating through some of the weight he'd put on over the years that he'd hated. "Here, fishy, fishy, fishy," he taunted. The shark-man had frozen, sinking back slightly into what Frank guessed was no doubt the comfort of its home waters, watching as lengthy white whiskers started to poke out of his swelling upper lip, a long-ignored feline muzzle pushing out of a distorting human face.
For a while, the two monsters just looked at each other.
~ * ~ * ~
"What are you?"
"That's a pretty loaded question," Frank noted, emerging from his hotel room's shower, looking a lot less feral and feline. Turning human again hadn't abated his erection any, though, especially with a fully-naked Nan sprawling on his bed. "Coming from you. And since you were the one who was going to surprise me deliberately, you get to answer first."
Nan turned over, showing off the large, currently-closed, shark's mouth that stretched across the top of his shoulders. "My dad is Kamohoalii, the King-Shark," he answered.
Frank offered a mocking bow. "Your highness," he joked.
Neither of them had felt quite like talking on the drive home. Nan had started turning back into a human once he realised Frank wasn't exactly normal, either. There was a lot of confusion - and some relief - but they both seemed to silently agree that going somewhere safe, private, and relatively neutral would have been best. Besides, they were both getting cold and Nan was dripping wet: as was Frank's shirt, which Nan had taken, for obvious reasons, on the ride back.
Nan shot him a dirty look. "My full name's Nanaue. You might have heard of the old Hawaiian legend?"
Frank shook his head, "I was brought up a lot more on the werewolf legend stuff, unfortunately."
"It seems my father has a thing for beautiful women named Kalei," Nan observed. "The previous Nanaue was real. He inherited a shark-mouth, just like I did. He... he ate people."
"And you were going to eat me?" Frank wondered, towelling himself off and drawing closer to the young man on the bed.
"I don't know," Nan shrugged. "When I was growing up, I just started feeling this, I don't know, hunger, I guess."
Frank smiled, tussling Nan's hair playfully. "Don't worry, I know all about insatiable, unnatural hungers that you can't really satisfy."
"So, how come you're a were-jaguar?" Nan asked, turning over to lay on his back.
Looking down at Nan's firm, smooth muscles - his hairlessness made much more sense to Frank now - he grunted, trying to keep a hold of himself. "At least from what I understand, I'm part nagual. That's the word my mother uses, anyway. Some of my distant ancestors on my my mother's side were Aztec, or Spanish invaders, or something. It'll skip a generation or two, but the family kind of pass on info about it in case it crops up."
Frank leaned back, lying beside Nan and letting his arm rest on Nan's back. Letting his fingers run over Nan's muscles, Frank continued, "Maybe it's all just bullshit, I don't know. All I really know is that, around the time that young boys start finding hair growing in new places, I was getting a lot, lot more and it wasn't staying around. I was also getting a tail and going through a few other changes. My parents didn't think it was a good idea for them to be raising Cat-Boy on a small island, so they moved me around a bunch of places where I could get out all of my transforming energy, moving me away any time I got seen or caught in cat-form. I killed a few sheep and cows here and there, which made things fun."
"What about people?" Nan wondered, turning up as if it'd let him better hear the answer.
"I came close," Frank confessed, hands shaking a little at the memory. "Eventually, I grew to control it. I haven't actually transformed like that for a while. Have to say, it feels kind of good."
"Do you want to do it again?" Nan asked.
Frank glanced over, suddenly very aware that he wasn't the only one feeling aroused. Nan's seemed to be coming from a different place, but Frank was feeling too relieved, too tempted by the situation to pay it too much mind. "Indulge in our wild sides, you mean?" He closed his eyes; he suddenly felt unusually bristly all of a sudden.
"Why not?" Nan declared with the certainty of youth. "I've never met anyone like me before."
"I don't imagine there's a lot of shape-shifting demigods fish-men running around the Big Island," Frank joked, "have you tried Honolulu?"
That earned Frank a short jab to the side. "I can't even talk about this with my mom," Nan snorted. "She knows what I am. She worries about me a lot. I think having you around could help me a lot."
"Well," Frank responded, "let's try and see how things work out."
~ * ~ * ~
"Okay," Frank thought, the truck's headlights bouncing off of the stones and scattering over the water lapping the shore. The moon slowly dragged itself up into the darkened sky. "Let's try this again."
The return trip to Nan's secret inlet had been just as quiet as the first overall. However, that had been awkward silence whereas now it was anticipatory. The conversation had been less awkward as well, each sharing stories of their transformations bringing them close to the edge of danger. Frank added in some advice he'd learned about self-control.
"It might be good," Frank suggested, catching Nan before he could escape the truck's cab, "if you don't let your mom know about this. After all, you did almost kill me, then I took you back to my hotel room where we laid on the same bed together." When Nan's eyes looked mortified, Frank chuckled, "Hey, she knew me as a little boy, alright? It'd be weird."
"Don't worry," Nan responded, his own smile forming, "I'm pretty sure I can keep a secret."
They undressed slowly, leaving all of their clothes in the truck, having learned the lesson from their first visit that leaving a trail of clothes from here to the water made for a pretty soggy home trip. Frank moaned, feeling the satisfyingly thick sproing of his erection swinging up into the air, finally escaping from his pants. Nan had borrowed some of Frank's clothes, and he looked relieved to be getting naked again as well.
"I'm going to get in the water," Nan added, his shadowed body stretching. "I've changed a few times when I wasn't in the ocean. Not great."
"I can imagine!" Frank thought, following him down to the water's edge. "I'll join you, as long as you can promise you won't eat me."
"Deal," Nan promised.
Frank followed him carefully, since the terrain seemed different with the changing of the tide. His feet splashed into the water, dark ripples circling outwards. It was a little uncomfortable, but Frank was willing to withstand it: any cuts or scrapes he got now would be gone before the evening was out anyway.
Nan jumped, body arcing and disappearing below the waves. This time, he reappeared quickly, still human and tread water. "I'm ready," he stated.
"Okay," Frank breathed out, trying to gather his courage. He stepped forward, anxiously expecting the stones to give way, or worse, that he'd slip over and land painfully on the rocks. "Aah!" he yelped as his foot sank unexpectedly. "Shut up!" he swore at Nan; Frank could tell the little shit was probably having a nice, quiet laugh at his expense. Breathing in, he pushed off.
The cold water closed around his head quickly; Frank quickly began to kick his legs until his head bobbed up over the surface. He felt Nan's body swimming up towards him, the dark outline of his head moving in front of him. "You ready?" he asked. Frank could hear how excited and nervous he was.
"Yeah!" he answered. He felt the same way: neither of them had ever been this free with the truth about themselves with anyone else before, and this was exciting uncharted territory. He put his hands on Nan's body; it was too dark to properly see each other transform, so they only way they could really feel what was happening was through their other senses.
Nan nodded. Frank felt it at first, invisible sparks of power coming off of Nan's body, who turned around as the shark mouth across his back began to open up. Frank's finger traced across the opening maw. Despite Nan's promises, he wasn't silly enough to put his hand anywhere inside the tooth-filled mouth.
There was enough interesting stuff happening around it to intrigue Frank, anyway. Once the mouth opened, cold sea water pouring inside, the skin around it started to feel rough and course between his fingers. Spreading beneath his touch, Frank traced across the border. He could picture it now: the brown skin paling in the water, turning a bloodless white or a steely grey. Reaching his arms around, he drew closer, feeling the edge of Nan's shark-flesh scraping against his chest.
Kicking his legs like the blades of an egg-beater, the way he'd learned to stay afloat at school, Frank let his hands meander over Nan's torso. The smooth, still-human muscles felt as firm and smooth as they had looked while they lay around in his hotel room. His body seemed to forget the reason why they were swimming naked here, as his cock grew hot and hard, despite the cold water around it. The gentle rubbing of Nan's firm buttocks against it only encouraged him further. He breathed hard, the cold water trying to steal the energy out of him, but this new situation was too arousing to be bound by the laws of physics.
The scales spread, and Nan's back began to push out as his changes advances. Frank felt the jab of the tip of Shark-Nan's snout as it slowly oozed out of his back. Sliding his hands up from Nan's firm abdominals and round pectorals, his hands touched the neck that was stretching out from the shoulders up, his body becoming more stream-lined. As his hands slipped over Nan's shoulders, Frank wondered whether Nan would appreciate a shoulder-rub while he transformed.
Still moving his hands upwards, Frank checked curiously at Nan's face. His mouth had closed, lips feeling small, and the nose seemed to have flattened as well. "Weird," thought Frank, his own transformation seemed far more like-for-like than Nan's; he wondered if it had anything to do with Frank's other self still being mammalian, whereas Nan had a much deeper change. However, Frank knew well, from his own experience, what questions would never get answered in a satisfactory way. This was one of them.
Nan's eyes had closed as well; Frank wasn't sure if they had started to disappear, or whether Nan just enjoyed the darkness as he changed. Frank's skin scraped, the shark-flesh spreading further, and he started to chafe. He shifted his hands again, tracing over Nan's head. Hair sloughed off under his fingers, as he moved smoothly from the human head to the shark one; the latter growing to overwhelm the first. Muscles bulged from Nan's back: thick abdominal-like bulges, trailing down in a line above his buttocks. Over the shoulder-blades, which seemed to soften, thick pectoral muscles ballooned out under the encroaching shark flesh.
Suddenly, Frank heard a crack reverberate through Nan's body. Exploring him with his hands, his fingers ran across large welts that had appeared along Nan's "neck". "Gills," Frank thought, feeling an odd surge. Sharks were so foreign and weird, and he still couldn't quite understand why Nan changed this way.
Nan pulled them down into the water abruptly; Frank drawing in a short breath before they were plunged underwater. Hands suddenly reached backwards, grabbing on to him, harsh skin scraping against his buttocks. He felt long, pointed fingers trace lines across his rear. The grip changed, the webbing between each finger growing thicker, pinkies and thumbs seeming to change places. "Sharks don't have bones," popped into Frank's head, "they have cartilage." He couldn't remember if that was true, or whether that applied to Nan. Regardless, Nan's hands were beginning to change around; his elbows had already clicked and re-aligned, muscles allowing them to move the other way.
Just when Frank thought he was going to have to pull away, his lungs burning with the need to breathe, Nan dragged them back up out of the surface. Gasping as his head popped out of the water, he noticed the moon was risen into the sky. This let him see the outline of the huge shark's head, big black eyes staring out into the world. For the first time, he felt breath blast across his chest from the huge shark's mouth.
"That was intense," Frank gasped, "but try not to drown me, eh?"
"Fine." Frank noted even Nan's voice had changed distinctly: it was far more breathy, and definitely sounded incredibly hungry. It was a dangerous voice, but for some reason that turned Frank on a little bit.
They splashed back up to the rocks, Frank happy to climb out. Nan leaned over him, huge muscles glistening in the moonlight. His hands curled around two rock, a loud hiss escaping his giant, rapacious maw. His massive body rubbed up against the edge, pinning Frank against the edge. Noticing two thick tubes hanging over the spot where Nan's ass had been, before it had started to flatten, Frank felt suddenly curious. "What are those?" he asked.
"My dicks," Nan wheezed. "Or close enough."
"You have two of them?" Frank looked down, amazed as they wriggled against his legs, his butt digging painfully into the rocks.
"Yeah," Nan grunted again.
Frank grinned. "You dirty little fuck," he laughed, "you've been holding out on me. Want to turn around for me?"
Nan obliged, swimming out a little into the water. The switching of at least the top half had more or less completed: Frank couldn't tell where Nan's human head had been at all, now he looked completely like the shark-man that had emerged from the water, frightening the life out of him. Now, though, he was intrigued, almost aroused, as the dorsal fin cut through the water.
Having turned upside down, Frank got a good look at the thick tail that still seemed to be growing out of Nan's body, and the feet which looked flat, the traces of Nan's brown human skin evident as it contrasted against the white or pale grey of the rest of his body. He figured that his legs hadn't quite changed yet, since his feet seemed to be pointing the "wrong" way for Nan's current body's configuration.
While Nan disappeared under the water's surface once again, Frank kicked his legs in the water. That had been very interesting; the two "dicks" thing was definitely intriguing, and he was wondering how, exactly it would feel like to be fucked by a smart-ass shark-man.
Water rippled, spray rained down, and Nan's face appeared. "Your turn," he rasped, swimming in place easily.
Frank smiled, standing up and shaking his body off. He'd never performed for an audience before, but was definitely keen to show off now that he'd seen Nan. "I have to say, that was pretty weird," he confessed, feeling the surge of power that triggered his change. It was more intense than last night, since now it wasn't partially out of fear, but fully out of arousal. That always seemed to add an extra little spice.
"Weird," Nan grunted. His new voice, Frank thought, didn't seem to do well at expressing confusion. Either that, or he was being moody again.
"Ugh, I'll explain it later, Mister Two-Dicks. Anyway, my turn. Keep those big black eyes on me," Frank said through gritted teeth, feeling the first tingles of fur prickling out of him. "Night's probably not the best time to see me."
"Go stand in the headlights," Nan suggested, dicks poking out of the water as he floated on his back.
Frank turned, stepping carefully up the stones. His head burned, bones cracking and knitting again, changing the shape of his face slowly, giving enough time for his muscles and skin to catch up. Sweat trickled down his body, muscles burning. His feline form, he'd forgotten, was incredibly muscular. He'd forgotten the rush of transforming, how hungry he'd be before and starving afterwards. When he'd been a teenager, his body had been so hot. "I need to change more often," he thought, wincing as he reached the headlights, turning to stand proudly in the light, wondering what Nan thought of the fuzzy silhouette casting the long, broken-up shadow across the black rocks.
Breathing out, he licked his lips, tongue sliding over the long feline whiskers that had started to grow. Running his hands over Nan during the transformation made him curious about how his own change made his body feel. Hands brushed over his body; a little of the sensation of touching fur was lost since his fingers was changing, but it was still intriguing to feel the changes happening.
Bending over, claws sprung out of his fingers, trying to dig into the ground. His muscles twinged, a weird shudder passing over his body. The tingling reached his rear, and he gasped as a short length of tail sprung out of him.
Standing up, he glanced at his hands: black fur and claws on the back, thick padding on the palms. The bones in his fingers crackled as he curled them. "I wonder what it'd be like to have them swap over like Nan's," he thought. Thinking about the young shark-man stirred his cock into action. His muzzle pulled back, baring his long yellow fangs in humour.
Frank had completely forgotten about this extra little titbit, that Nan's double-dick wasn't the only one to have a bit of strangeness happening with their cocks. The sharp barbs curled out of the tip of his shaft as it pushed out into the air. From what Frank had read, he was glad he got to roughly keep his penis size throughout the transformation. Cats weren't exactly known to have huge cocks.
Resting his hands on the front of the truck, Frank shifted the weight further onto the balls of his feet. His claws and padding had already come in, but now it was time for the main event. The muscle-stretching and bone-snapping became most intense near his legs, since they were the parts of him other than his head that became the most feline. Suddenly, it was like riding a bicycle; all those memories of skulking around in the woods flooding back.
Posing for his audience in the light, he slipped down on to all fours, bounding across the rocky ground with surprising agility, Frank's fur making him disappear into the darkness. Looking out into the water let him see more of Nan: through a mixture of having cat's eyes, and the rising of the full moon, his outline was sharper. He felt a throb through his cock: tonight was going to be a fun night.
"What do you think?" Frank asked, noting his own voice had changed too. The whole thing felt so surreal, it was almost like being as young as Nan was again, changing shape out in the wilderness, prowling in the darkness while he let his inner monster out.
"Weird," Nan answered.
Frank growled, laughing and the absurdity. "At least I don't turn back to front."
The two monsters looked at each other, each slowly feeling a sense of relief at having found each other. "Can you swim?" Nan asked.
"Uh, I think so?" Frank responded. As a human, he'd learned to swim like everyone else in Hawaii at the time, and he hadn't forgotten. In his current form, though, he'd never had the chance. "If things get rough, I might need to turn back."
Nan rasped something incoherent, disappearing below the waves. Frank watched him, a large shadow surging just visibly under the surface of the water. He resurfaced, body shimmering - with Frank suddenly reminded that they hadn't actually had the picnic Nan had promised, and he was starving - and suggested, "Want to ride on my back?"
"Kinky," answered Frank, padding his way down to the water. "Won't you - eh," he paused, suddenly realising how absurd his suggestion was. "If you're sure you'd be comfortable with that."
"We can give it a try," Nan suggested. "Just don't claw me or anything."
"I promise," Frank answered, dipping his paws into the water. Nan wasn't exactly designed for being ridden, especially with a huge dorsal fin knocking out a lot of Nan back real-estate, and Frank worried about falling off. Eventually he figured out a way, clinging to Nan's front part with his arms, somewhat bunched up to allow his ass to rub up against the start of the dorsal fin.
Then Nan kicked, and they were off. Frank quickly realised just how strong Nan was. Despite the extra weight, he powered through the water. His tail was thick, and when added to his legs and arms, the ocean flew by. Lights from the buildings in Kona glistened off to the side. Salt air rushed up into his face.
"This is fun," Frank thought. His mind started to wander as he watched the ocean surge around him, Nan turning around to take them back in. You couldn't really make out with a shark. When someone's mouth could swallow you whole, it'd be impossible, even if he'd still been human, to lock lips. A feline muzzle really wasn't designed for this type of thing either. Licking, however was a different story. As he rode on Nan's back, his strong body charging through the waves, he opened his muzzle, sliding his tongue along the top of Nan's nose, the tang making him wonder what other things tasted salty.
Nan slowed down, treading water as they got close. Frank carefully slipped over his front, fur soaking in the cold water. Paddling like a dog, he made his way to the rocks. Climbing out was a little trickier than it would have been if he were human, but he managed just fine. Shaking himself off, he turned around, shivering slightly.
"So," Frank asked, "what do you want to do now?" He stretched out on the stones, his fur padding him from the worst of the sharpness and cold. His leg swirled the water, balls looking like they were floating on the surface with how close he was sitting. He hoped it was a subtle - but not too subtle - was to suggest to Nan what he thought they should get up to next.
Frank waited, watching as Nan swum around, diving down to do whatever it was that Nan got up to underneath the surface. He felt something brush past his legs as Nan slowly broke through the surface, arms resting on the rocks. Frank ran his rough tongue over his black lips, a purr catching in his throat, slowly turning over to look into the big black eye on this side of Nan's giant, fearsome head.
"I have an idea," Frank suggested, leaning over, his rough tongue sliding against the slightly coarser surface of Nan's skin with closed eyes. He slowly leaned back, allowing his eyes to open and his tongue to roll back into his mouth, leaving just a sliver of pink showing through.
As usual, it was hard for Frank to read Nan's expression, but there was no mistaking the movement of his hand to the inside of Frank's thigh. His large head turned, black round eyes staring into Frank. Frank wondered what type of hunger Nan had in mind to satisfy with this gesture, but he'd learned how to give as good as he got, regardless of what happened next.
Frank took the initiative, sliding along the rocks until his legs were once again on either side of Nan's body. Coaxing with his arm, he suggested, "Can you push yourself up a little?" Nan did, his bulk pinning Frank against the rocks. Making sure his claws were all retracted, he slid his feet around, saying, "Thanks. Let me know when I get to a good place for you."
Gently moving around, Frank used his feet to explore close to where he believed Nan's nether regions to be. The cold water and his unfamiliarity with Nan's anatomy made it difficult, but he at least knew what a moan - rather, a hiss - of pleasure was when his furry feet made in contact with two thick protuberances.
"Mmm, you like that, huh?" Frank purred, almost able to feel the glimmer of naughty light twinkling in his eyes.
"Oh, yes," Nan breathed, Frank's feet sliding up and down. The shark-man's body writhed up against his, letting himself be carried off by the pleasure. Frank wondered if Nan had ever done anything with anyone before: certainly not like this, but he got the impression Nan was a virgin in his human body as well.
One of Nan's "penises" suddenly shot through the gap in his feet. Frank yelped, surprised as something struck him in the leg. His fur had protected him from the brunt of the impact. He thought that it was worth it though, almost a little kinky. Besides, any minor injuries he got now would be gone when he turned human again; he'd forgotten how useful that could be. Dirty, extremely deviant ideas suddenly became more acceptable to Frank, who licked his lips appreciatively.
While Nan humped against the gap in Frank's feet, gyrating further, his pale hand lingering over Nan's shaft. Frank quickly opened his mouth, "Watch out for..." It was too late: the shark-man's fingers jerked back, as though he'd gotten a shock. "Sorry," Frank apologized, "there's a lot of prickly barbs on there." He reached down, guiding Nan's hand to the base of his sheath, promising, "I'd like it if you rub me there, and it should be safer."
"Hmm," Nan pondered, trying his best to delicately massage Frank's sheath. His hands weren't designed for delicacy though; they were designed to tear through flesh. Fortunately, Frank didn't have that happen to his sensitive bits, but he was enjoying giving Shark-Boy a footjob, and Nan was clearly happy to be on the receiving end.
So happy, that Frank yelped, the tips of Nan's talons stabbing into him as he tried to move his hand out of the way. "Sorry," Nan blurted out, diving below the waves, Frank's legs tugging down as Nan's dick slipped out from them.
"I'll be fine," Frank insisted, worried Nan would be traumatised. Moments passed by, the water calming as much as the ocean could. Frank was about to do something when he felt something graze by his feet, a thick jet of water and something else firing beside his toes.
If there ever was a time a shark looked sheepish, it was when Nan resurfaced. "Sorry," he apologised, "I couldn't breathe."
Frank smiled, "I take it you've finished yourself off?"
"Mmhmm," Nan gasped. "But I liked what you did."
It wasn't exactly how Frank had wanted it to go either. As monsters, they would have to work pretty hard on figuring out what worked sexually. Maybe things would work better as just humans, but that would be for another time. "You know what I'd like you to do?" he asked, the lusty glint returning to his eyes.
"What?" Nan asked.
Frank spread his legs apart, grabbing hold of his cock. The padding on his fingers protected him from the worst his barbs had to dole out; that and this not being anywhere near the first time he'd jerked off in this shape. The coincidence of his transformation and puberty had given him some benefits.
"Open wide," Frank growled, quickly starting to masturbate, "and I'll show you how us mammals do it." Nan was willing to oblige, his large maw opening up.
For Frank, it was like shooting at the broad side of a barn.
~ * ~ * ~
"Do you really have to go?"
Frank smiled bittersweetly, looking at the bed. Nanaue was sprawling on it, the angle of the morning light somehow perfectly coming in through the window to accentuate his muscles. He'd started thinking of the young man as "Nanaue" now, rather than just "Nan". He seemed far more at ease with himself, more confident. Frank also hoped it made him less likely to turn homicidal, but then again there were certain people he'd like to dig his claws into sometimes, and it seemed hypocritical to turn on the only other monster he knew.
"It's just for a couple of months," he restated. "I've got the Hind account to work on, so I'll come back here for a little while. But that won't last forever. The sooner I can figure out how to get a constant stream of work here, the sooner our whatever-this-is can become permanent. The Hind project will play a big part of that, so I'll need to focus on getting everything perfect on it."
Secretly, he felt torn. Nanaue was, in a lot of ways, a miracle: someone whom he found immensely attractive, in either form, and someone that shared his darkest secret. It was as close to a perfect pairing as he could manage. However, Frank had lived in the world a lot longer, and worried that he'd throw away the life - a rather unsatisfactory, but still comfortable life - for someone who was, despite their shared secret, very different. He needed some time to figure all this out.
"That's assuming you'll even still want an old guy like me," Frank added.
"Old?" Nanaue laughed. "You certainly didn't go at it like an old man last night."
Frank chuckled, "That was different." He patted his stomach. It definitely felt flatter than it had been, and when he'd gone into the bathroom earlier, he even looked a bit younger. But then, he had no way of knowing how long either of them would live. Nanaue's namesake had been murdered, but was supposedly a demigod. He knew even less real info about his own fate. Trying to shake those thoughts away, he joked, "Besides, you know how cats are always hungry for fish."
One of the pillows from the bed flew through the air, smacking Frank right in the crotch. He looked over; Nanaue seemed to be trying to hypnotise him into staying with his deep, dark eyes.
"Hey!" Frank complained. "Besides, we've got phones and emails and such. We can come up with code words to discuss our 'shared condition' when we do talk. I don't think either of us wants the government to find out."
Nanaue shook his head, agreeing with Frank's opinion. Suddenly, his face went expressionless again, and Nanaue apologised, "I'm sorry if I hurt you, and I'm sorry things didn't, uh, go like you wanted them to."
"Not many guys at my stage of life can say they got to have sex with a hot young Hawaiian," Frank grinned, flopping down on the bed beside Nanaue. "There's a lot of stuff we'd need to explore, and learn about. You'd be surprised at how hard it is to find detailed info about shark dicks online."
"You mean, claspers?" Nanaue corrected him.
"Yeah, yeah," Frank swatted him away. "Anyway, we can figure something out. But if you find a nice merman, or some were-dolphin closer to your age, you don't have to..."
Nanaue grabbed the back of Frank's head, silencing him with a kiss.
