Equestrian Stories Book 1 Chapter 9 Loss Of Love

Luna reappeared outside of the canterlot city ruins and immediately tries to stand up. "Come on... come on...." She said as she manages to stand up on her own and begins to try and limp her way back to the ruins but feels a wing stop her "Who... sister!" Luna says as she turns around and sees Celestias wing on her "You are back to normal. Alex did it I see. Where is he?" Celestia asks Luna whos eyes begin to water up. "Back there... where the explosion happened... i tripped over a large rock and sprained my wing and leg and Alex teleported me away from the blast but he got caught in it.... please.... i need to go see if hes ok... please!" Luna begs Celestia who smiles softly and helps her sister walk toward where the explosion happened.

They finally get to where the explosion happened but Alex is no where to be found. "please.... dont be dead.... please...." She says with tear filled eyes, she notices some of the rubble was off and immediately goes over and begins to use her magic to remove the large rocks and uncovers Alex in pegasus form underneath them. "No no... please no...." She tries her best to pick him up as tears begin to flow from her eyes. Alex slowly opens his eyes and smiles softly as he lifts a hoof up gently and rubs her snout "My... princess... of... the night...." He says weakly before his hoove falls down and the light in his eyes faded away.

"No no no no no... please no.... NO NO NO... NNOOO!!!!" She begins to screech and sob uncontrollably as she holds Alexs body close. "Sister.... please.... there has to be something we can do... please..... i... i dont want to lose him.... please....." Luna cries as she looks up at Celestia. "There might be a way but it is risky little sister... are you.."

"Please!!" Luna begs as Celestia nods and looks over to see Twilight and Cadance approaching. "Good you brought Cadence as well." Celestia says and Twilight nods, Cadance looks at Luna who held onto Alexs body tightly and her heart sank at that... her being the princess of love feeling the emotional heart break that Luna was feeling right now for losing someone she loved. "Lets do this. We must not waste anymore time. The longer we spend the greater the chance his soul will be gone forever." Cadance states as the other 2 alicorns nod. "Luna put him on the ground gently." Celestia instructs and Luna oblidges and gently puts Alexs body on the ground.

Celestia, Cadance and Twilight approach Alexs body and put their horns gently on Alexs body and begin to channel their magic into his body to heal it and revive him. His body shines from the magical energy off all 3 alicorns and he is fully healed. They all back away and Celestia looks at Luna who begins to lightly shake Alexs body "Wake up.. please... wake up...." She said as the tears began to flow again as Alexs body didnt move. Luna begins to sob uncontrollably.

Celestia walks over and begins to move Luna away from Alex. "We tried little sister.... Im so sorry.." She says as she hugs her crying sister and holds her close. "he has my heart big sister.....i... i cant lose him...." Luna sobs uncontrollably

Within the darkness

Alex slowly floated, his pony form shedded as hes in his human form "Am i... dead? No... i cant die...." The darkness begins to engulf his mind until it was like he didnt exist.... Then suddenly he heard Lunas voice.

"He has my heart big sister.... I... I cant lose him..."

"Selena.... no.. i cant give up... i... i.. CANT GIVE UP!!!" He yells as he begins to fight againt the darkness trying to get ahold of him. His human form shatters and he becomes a pegasus again and begins to flap his wings hard pushing the darkness back and begins to fly toward a glowing light "IM COMING BACK!"

Luna keeps crying as the other 3 alicorn princesses try to console her. They begin to walk away with Luna who sobs as shes moved away. Luna soon takes off and leaves the others behind. She begins to walk toward a cliff and looks down and looks back up as she begins to sob again. "I... I... cant live.... Its my fault.... hes gone.... my fault..." She sobs uncontrollably as she ties her wings to her side to stop them from coming out when shes... falling....

Cadance is looking over Alexs body and notices it twitch and then groan. "You.. Your alive!" Cadance exclaims as Alex begins to slowly get up on shakey legs "Wheres... Selena..." He asks and Cadance looks at him "Luna? She took off down that way." Cadance points and watches Alex stumble his way in that direction. She immediately runs to his side and helps him stand up straight "We... have to stop her..." He weakly said and Cadance just tilts her head "Stop her?" Alex nods "Shes.... going to kill herself!"

Luna looks down the cliff, having tied her wings up. She then closes her eyes and jumps off the cliff as tears continue to flow down her snout.
