My name is Theodor, but everybody calls me Ned, because I have an older brother Edward and his nickname is Ted. So I stuck with the Ned (New Edward, if you ask him. So don’t.) Then we turned to the lion still watching me. As I looked in his eyes I couldn’t see any human emotion in it. It was like I was looking out on a window to another word I won’t understand. “He and the two girls are our newest guest. They arrived yesterday.” Abioye explained so I had to broke away my attention.

“Girls?” I did not understand but he just waved to the direction. There were two lionesses in the shadow next to the entrance of the cage a few meters away. They were passive, just lying on the ground and sleeping.

“They are beautiful.” I sighed.

“If you say so. I like lions too but they are dangerous beasts. Just a blink and you caught yourself on bleeding out as they tore open your throat… if you are lucky.” He explained.

“If you aren’t, then they will eat you alive. One will pin you down and the others will start the feast. At your soft parts. Next day I thought I will visit that lion again and maybe I can see the lionesses too. The only problem was that Ted was angry with me so he left me home with my parents. I wasn’t in the mood for obeying to his words;

“Bloody hell!” I sighed as I looked up. That wall was at least 8 meters high. “Good plan Theodore! You forget you can’t fly.” I scolded myself. Then I saw a tree not far from the wall. So I thought maybe I can climb it then I could easily can jump across, right to the wall. It’s wide enough and there is a meter gap between the wall and the back of the cage.

“Thank you. Your majesty.” I told him. He was watching me. No! He was study me. Like I would study a little lizard in a terrarium. It was strange. Then I realized I heard someone speaking near at me but there were only the lions. I drop my jaw in this realization and as the lion saw it he cooked his head a little.

“You…” I swallowed. If he can speak and I accuse him, maybe he will kill me. Obviously it’s a secret. But if I shut my mouth he can also kill me because lions do that. I was thinking. “Please don’t eat me alive or mutilate me.” I said instead. Then I slowly got myself on feet. But then something happened. “You must step forward and approach him. Do not do anything to scare him.”

“Understood Captain.” The lioness whispered back. But they didn’t even open their mouth. They talked each other with only thoughts.

“What the bloody hell?” I was shocked. “I heard your voice inside my head.” I said then I was panicked as I debunked myself. The previously mentioned lioness drop her jaw.
