Clever Always Wins

Kobolds are a popular thing these days, aren’t they? I certainly have no problem with that, the world can always use more popular sexy reptiles. Still, while others have their preferences, I like my reptiles to be bigger than the humans they dom...thankfully, fantasy worlds offer many ways to make that happen!

“Look, Grin, I guarantee you, crafty is better than strong. You can put forth any argument you want, but you're not going to win."

A mountain of a human, fully seven feet tall and built like a golem, shook his head vigorously. “That's where you're wrong. You may think yourself clever, Calus, but you know I'm no dope. Pure power is better. Few things are more intimidating than raw strength."

“Oh, but there are things that are more intimidating, such as a complex bluff that leaves your opponent truly baffled," replied the kobold across the table from the human. In kobold terms he was also quite a mass, four and a half feet tall and relatively burly, though still easily dwarfed on both terms by Grinnon. “Size may intimidate, but it's a known quantity...it's the unknown that really strikes fear in the hearts of your targets."

“Bah! Weak argument. With enough strength, you could move mountains!"

“True, but with enough craftiness, you can make mountains move of their own accord. Or make others move them for you. Or bypass them altogether. All far more easily than trying to move them."

“Strength means being able to carry more. You can't be well-supplied for a journey or a delve into a dangerous cave or dungeon without the power to carry it all. How many adventurers die because they run out of vital supplies?"

“Yet, a crafty person can survive for longer because they can replenish their supplies along the way, and make the most use of what they can carry by learning tricks and techniques for increasing their longevity."

Grinnon was scowling now, and stood up from his chair, leering down at Calus. “Well, maybe enough strength will allow me to hold shut that slick tongue of yours, you little lizard rat!"

Calus didn't back down even slightly standing up and glaring defiantly up into Grinnon's face, his snout almost touching the human. “And maybe I'm clever enough to get you to shut your trap without so much as touching you, odiferous skin monkey!"

Other patrons in the tavern were starting to look at the pair with nervous expressions, wondering if a fight was about to break out. There was a good few seconds of tense standoff between the two, until the expressions finally cracked, and they both busted out into jovial laughter. They rocked back into their seats, laughing uproariously while everyone else stared. Finally they returned to their own matters, still not sure what had just happened.

The nervousness of the others could easily be excused, but there was never any danger - Grinnon and Calus were best of friends and rarely if ever came to blows. They had been traveling together for years, ever since meeting in the middle of a vast cavern system, both hunting the same kobold thief who had stolen a rather valuable emerald scepter from a local royal. Calus had impressed Grinnon with his surprising strength, much more than he would have expected for someone so small, and the two had gotten each other out of several scrapes by the time they'd reached the thief, who had taken one look at them and surrendered. They both knew how great a team they made right off, and the decision to stick together was easy...and since then, they'd been almost inseparable, able to tackle almost anything, or at least get out of places alive together.

They did have one running disagreement, though: the argument over strong versus crafty. Calus was plenty strong for a kobold, but being as small as he was meant he still had to fall back on traditional kobold cleverness quite a bit. Thankfully, he was quick-witted, not at all the dumb brute stereotype one might have taken him for at first glance, and his sharp mind had gotten them out of as many scrapes as his sharp tongue had gotten them into. Grinnon, while being no dim bulb himself, certainly favored brute-force solutions, although he had the musclepower to back most of them up. Carrying an axe that was almost as big as Calus was with ease was generally enough for most people to get that he wasn't one to be messed with.

They had been at odds on the question for a long time, but never with any real hostility. Even when drinking, as they were now, there was no friction between them - in fact, both of them saw it as a fun debate, albeit one that each was convinced they were correct on.

“One of these days, Grin...one of these days, I'm gonna convince you once and for all that clever always wins." Calus knocked back a slug of ale, the stuff had the usual kick for his small body but he had the constitution to handle it. “I don't know when or how, but I will, I promise you that."

“Ha! That'll probably be the same day you put on a pair of pants, my friend." He grinned down at Calus, who was indeed naked in the strictest sense of the word; he wore no garb, although his body was adorned with belts, the largest strapped over his shoulder to hold his greatsword, and several trinkets here and there.

“Oh, you have that little faith in me? I'm wounded!"

“You have a lot of work to convince a stubborn brute as myself! Would be far less work to dress yourself in something, you should try it sometime."

“And break with the traditions of my forefathers? Perish the thought! Our scales are our pride, to cover them is to signal shame!"

Grinnon sucked down the last of the ale in his tankard and slammed it down on the table, summoning a waitress to have it refilled. “Your kind may be proud, but they're going to be awfully cold. I'm sure we could find some furs like mine in your size. It's got to be more comfortable on a cool night than the wind against those scales of yours, even if they are tough."

“I have the trinkets that help ward the cold, you don't have to worry about me. Personally, I find it easier to just go as I am than fuddling with strange garments all over yourself. And cheaper, too, how often do you have to get your shit replaced because you find something better or it gets damaged?"

“Bah, it's worth it for the protection from the elements and the weapons!"

“It's cumbersome. Protection provided by lightweight, low-coverage trinkets allow for freer motion, and they're just as effective in blocking damage!"

“Until you get disenchanted, and then what?"

“Then I'm fighting a wizard and hides won't help me anyway." Calus snickered as he downed the last of his ale, just as the server returned with more for both of them. “But hey, I understand why you need them. You don't have tough scales like mine, and I understand you have sensitive bits just flopping all over the place."

“Hey, that wasn't my call," Grinnon said with a grin; behind him, the waitress had flushed furiously and was trying not to let that on to anyone. “Yours seem much better protected, I'll give you that. If I had an ear of the gods, I'd tell them to maybe think about a design change."

“One can only hope. Cheers!" The two clacked tankards and drank them down in one go, chugging furiously almost as if it was a race. Grinnon finished first and slammed down, letting out a triumphant laugh as Calus struggled to finish up.

“What's the matter, can't hold your ale?"

“It's rather a lot for me to try to hold, if you haven't noticed." Calus finally set his tankard down. “I think I've probably had my fill...shall we retire?"

“Sure, I'll drink you under the table again tomorrow."

“Yes, under the table, I'm sure." Calus grinned in that weird way he got when Grinnon knew he was planning something clever. He'd have to watch out for whatever it was the kobold was thinking of...he could be a bit of a prankster sometimes, good-naturedly so but still a prankster. Grinnon got him back on occasion, but he was definitely behind in that score.

The tavern was connected to the inn they were staying at, so their rooms were just a quick jaunt upstairs...but even as they were climbing the flight, Grinnon was feeling woozy and weighed down. “Ugh...that ale really gets to your head…" he moaned as he struggled to ascend the stairs.

“It's pretty heavy stuff," Calus agreed, sounding utterly unbothered; why was he doing fine, Grinnon wondered, when his smaller body should have been more affected by the liquor? “Do you need a hand?"

“Bah...I'd probably fall on you and crush you."

“Oh, come, you're not that heavy. You've seen me lift greater."

“Ah, I suppose, but I feel like a dead weight. Maybe I weigh twice what I usually do."

“Oh, I'd daresay that's not the case." Calus was waiting for him at the top of the stairs as he finally reached it...was it Grinnon's imagination, or was he standing taller than usual? He was about to ask when he stumbled a bit and had to catch himself...he'd tripped over his boots, they were feeling loose on him. He was still dizzy, his axe felt like a huge weight on him, and his clothes were starting to fall off of him as he tried to make his way to their room. And Calus was grinning at him, and he wasn't having to look down nearly as much…

“You fucking scaly devil. What did you do?"

“What, me? Oh, nothing too serious...just a dose of a little concoction in your last ale when you weren't looking. Little, as in shrinking tonic. Better get inside, before you fall over under that monster axe of yours."

“Gah, you…" What he really wanted to do was belt the kobold, but it was getting very hard to move, so he rushed as quick as he could into their shared room. Calus closed the door and locked it behind him, then watched the show as Grinnon finally dislodged the axe belt from his body, letting the weapon fall to the ground with a loud thump. He then struggled his way out of his clothes, which he was quickly swimming in, the escape getting harder the smaller he got.

He was panting when he finally emerged from the fabric, completely naked and much smaller than he was used to being. In fact, he had to look up at the kobold, something he never had to do normally. His head had halfway cleared, though; the fog must have been an effect of the magic that turned him like that, and he was glad it was gone so he could express his dismay properly. “You fucker, and here I thought you were planning something for tomorrow."

“Why put off until tomorrow what you can do tonight? After all, we've a long-running question to resolve, and this, I think, may be the winning argument: clever always wins."

“Rf. So this is clever?"

“Indeed. After all, I dosed your drink while you weren't paying attention; it's sneaky, but sneaky is a form of clever. You've said so yourself, have you not?"

Grinnon knew he had, in fact the last time hadn't been that long ago. “Okay, you have a point there, but how does this settle things?"

Calus grinned slyly at him as he dropped the sword belt off his body, approaching the shrunken human. “Because, with cleverness, I've taken away your strength...but all your strength can't take away my cleverness."

Grinnon wasn't sure he liked the look he was getting. “Eh? I still feel pretty strong, if you think you can beat me in a fight like this…"

“Oh, pound for pound, you're as strong as you ever were. But you have a lot fewer pounds now...and I think I have more." Without warning, Calus tackled Grinnon, and rather quickly the human found himself pinned to the ground under the lizard, his struggles shifting his position but not getting him out of it. He'd never fought Calus like this, they were of course far too different in size to wrestle effectively, and he'd never really learned how to deal with Calus's spry body in this manner...clearly, Calus was more ready for him than he was for Calus.

It wasn't long before the kobold had Grinnon face down on the ground, one arm pinned behind his back. “Do you concede victory?"

“Oof! Fine, yes, I concede!"

“Excellent. I think, then, that I'll be taking a victory lap."

“What are you-!" Grinnon froze as he felt something slick and wet against his back and rear. He didn't have to guess what THAT was… “That's a victory lap?!"

“But of course." Grinnon could swear he could HEAR the giant grin on Calus's lizard face. “How many more opportunities will I have for this, now that you'll be wary of it? I'll admit, I've always wanted to do this, but it never seemed right with you at your normal size...not many kobolds who like to overpower their partners, most of them would be happier taking it than giving it anyway. You can try to escape if you'd like, but I think you'll find that challenging."

“I can see that." If he really tried, he might be able to break Calus's grip, but Grinnon know the reptile was absurdly strong for his size, it was far from a guarantee. And truth be told, there was a bit of curiosity...he'd never been on this end of the equation with another male before, he'd only been on top - in fact, even an encounter with a kobold, which he and Calus had teamed up with. They had a reputation as being rather slutty, but sex was a way for them to get through a world that was a lot bigger than they were, and they were good at it and seemed to take pride in it...except Calus, he liked the other side. And he'd earned it, Grinnon supposed…

But his curiosity took a bit of a turn when he felt the fullness of that hot organ against him. “What...the hell is that?"

“What, you don't know? You've seen it before, Grinnon. Nine inches of prime kobold, ready for action."

Grinnon's eyes widened. That was bigger than he was at his proper size! He had seen it before, but it hadn't seemed so imposing then...and it had been a lot farther away from him. “Gah! You want to stick that in me?"

“Oh, relax. If I can take a troglodyte cock as thick as your regular-sized forearm and half again as long, I think you can handle this."

“You...wait, you...I didn't think you were into that."

“I'm not. And I didn't say I had offered. Doesn't mean it didn't happen. Don't worry, I'll go easy on you."

That was the magic phrase, the switch that flipped in Grinnon's brain. The revelation was one thing, trying to ease his mind into the idea, and partially effective...but if there was one thing he hated, it was foes who held back against him. Maybe Calus wasn't exactly a foe, but going easy? Oh, he'd show the lizard. “Don't you fucking DARE go easy on me, lizard rat! Fine, I can take it, pound me like that trog did to you!"

It came as a bit of a surprise to Calus, but his grin returned as he gripped the minute human tight. “Well, if you say so...I think I can come close, at least." That was all the more warning Grinnon was getting, as he drew his erection down his partner's skin of his back and ass, setting it into the cleft and bringing the tip towards that tight, unmarred pucker. He shifted his legs, bracing them hard against the floor with his claws hooking into the wood, and with a hiss slammed himself in to the hilt in one fell swoop.

Grinnon's jaw clenched down so hard he thought it might break. That hurt! There was no way he could've been ready for it, it felt so long and thick...for his size, the kobold was a monstrous size, and it put strains on his body in ways that nothing ever had before in his life. But he kept his protests down to a loud, deep grunt as he felt the lizard hilt into him; like hell he was going to wimp out now, if Calus could handle it, Grinnon wasn't going to be outdone. And though the pain was sharp at first, it quickly ebbed away to a dull, thick ache that was more manageable...he still wasn't sure how it was meant to feel good, but perhaps that would come in time.

Calus gave him a bit to adjust; hard as he was planning to go, he still didn't want it to be torment for Grinnon, he wanted the human to enjoy it as well. Once he felt that wickedly-tight ass start to relax around him, though, he went all out, yanking himself out and driving back in with a force that seemed almost too great for his body to provide, and this time he didn't stop. Loud slurps and spluts issued from their joining point as he rocked in and out, squirting pre in to make the process even easier. His muscles strained with the force, the sheer speed and power pushing them to the limit.

As far as Grinnon was concerned, Calus was fulfilling his part of the deal - if this wasn't as hard as he had gotten in the past, Grinnon certainly couldn't tell. But as rough a fuck as it was, it was starting to feel a lot better...his body was adjusting to the size and intensity, and as the ache ebbed pleasure was starting to overtake him. His own dick was stiffening as he felt that thick kobold shaft slam against that spot in him that he'd only heard about second-hand. Oh, that felt good...and it was making everything else start to take on a different tone, the rough, intense ache and strain on him was starting to become an asset, heightening the sense of euphoria from all the pleasant sensations. He was starting to push back into Calus, not nearly matching what he was getting but signaling his receptiveness as clearly as he could, his panting, moaning voice not able to form any words.

But Calus got the idea plenty, it was just what he wanted to see. He kept at it, drilling the human for all he was worth...the throb in his cock was coming too quickly, he was enjoying it so much but wanted it to last longer, but at this rate he wasn't going to be able to keep from blowing quite rapidly. His hissing and keening intensified as he barreled towards his climax, trying to push Grinnon over the edge before he lost his chance.

But Grinnon was a lot closer than he thought. The human let out a heavy groan and tightened down on him as he started to shoot all over the floor, a surprisingly robust load despite his shrinking. It streaked the floor underneath him, and a couple of shots even landed on his chest when his dick flopped up from the impact of Calus's hips against his body. Feeling the force of the human's climax was enough to unleash the kobold's, and he let out a caterwauling cry as he pounded in and fired off his thick seed into Grinnon's bowels. Oh, it felt good to be spending himself inside Grinnon...there was something so satisfying about making the human take him in, his long-time partner and occasional fantasy. He'd have to return the favor someday, but at this point he needed this, to be the one on top and letting loose.

And Grinnon couldn't help but enjoy the sensations as well. A hot, wet, sticky warmth was permeating his insides, spreading quickly and flooding him deeply, so far inside he thought it might start trying to come out the other end. That never happened, he just felt it collect deep inside as well as slide back around Calus's dick and squirt out his ass, giving him even more pleasure as it soothed the burn from the wild fucking. He kept pushing back into Calus, and the kobold was returning the favor, the two moving in time with each other to maximize the length of their climaxes.

Finally they settled, Calus laying on top of Grinnon, the two panting, sticky bodies rubbing together. He rubbed a clawed finger over the contours of the human's muscles. “Heh...did you enjoy getting rut like that?"

“Ngh...heh...yeah...you know what, in the end, I did. Hurt like a motherfucker at first, though."

“The hurt makes the pleasure better at the end, I think...my personal feeling. I'm glad you liked that...now, do you concede the argument?"

The human let out a bit of a groan. “Fine...you win. I give to the superiority of cleverness."

Calus grinned. “That's what I told you. Clever always wins."

“Yeah, yeah...okay, how long am I stuck like this?"

“Hm, with the dose I gave you, it should be roughly...three or four days, depending on your resistance."

“Gods, are you serious? I can't go out of here like this, I don't have anything to wear! I'm going to have to stay stuck in here for three days at least?"

“Relax...we're in no rush, right? No active business, and we were planning on a bit of a break anyway." Calus's hand trailed down to the human's flaccid member, groping and rubbing it a bit. “And it'll give you time to appreciate the power of cleverness...and the real horniness of a kobold."

“You're going to dominate me as often as you can these next few days, aren't you?"

“But of course...I'll take care of cleaning up at the end of it, but you should be prepared to get messy many times these next few days. Perhaps I'll order a bit of a concoction to help you keep up with me."

“I think I may need it." But Grinnon had to admit, he didn't think he was going to mind being stuck like this the next few days if this was the payoff. He was still going to make his case for strength whenever he could, but if this was clever winning, he was all right with that.
