Desire: Pain and Courage
Hello all. This is the next story I've been working on. I actually started this one a while back, and just finished the first chapter. I hope you enjoy it, however it does contain suggestive language. There will eventually be yiffing in this one, but not yet.
Desire: Pain and Courage
Devlin walked slowly towards his home. School had ended an hour ago, but he had to stay after for math tutoring. His teacher had been kind enough to offer him free after school tutoring to help him get his grades up so that he could graduate with the rest of his class. The German Sheppard was good in sports at six foot and 210lbs of pure muscle he was very athletic. However, he wasn't good with books. He was an average student at best. As he walked his thoughts drifted off of the topic of math, and onto more romantic thoughts. He was fairly popular with most all females, especially since he was both a senior in High School and a member of the Football Team. He had been with several girls, as had most of the guys he knew. In fact, he had even been with a few of the guys he knew. However, each encounter left with an empty feeling. He was left with the conclusion that it wasn't a physical need causing this, it must be something more.
Before he knew it, Devlin arrived at his house. His mom waiting patiently on the front porch of his two story home. He lived a mile from school in a nearby suburb. His mom was a homemaker and his dad was an engineer. His dad made enough money to provide for his family, giving them everything they needed, and most of what they wanted. "Evening Dev, how did school go today?" This was the same greeting he received every day. While he was grateful that his mom was interested in his life, school sucked. That's all there was to it, but he would never vocalize this to his mom. His parents had high hopes for their son. Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer they had it all planned out for him, and their plans changed almost daily. "It was good mom, Mr. Hammond helped me after school again with my math. I still don't understand some of it, but I'm getting there." This upbeat attitude would usually satisfy her for the day, as it did in this particular instance. He couldn't help but to feel alone in the world. His parents had plans for his future, his friends were jerks and only wanted to get laid, and his current girl friend wanted a senior jock as a boyfriend. But he pushed these thoughts out of his head as he climbed the stairs to his bedroom. Today was Friday, meaning no school tomorrow. Ordinarily he would be going out with his friends, but he just wasn't feeling it tonight. If he went to a party, he would just end up drunk and miserable. Spring training had began a week ago for the upcoming season, but he was about to graduate and had no interest in training next year's fresh meat. No, tonight was his. A nice evening of blowing shit up on Halo 3. He might even get on Xbox Live and destroy some noobs for fun if he got board from the missions. As he walked into his room and deposited his book bag on his bed, he noticed that he had gotten a call from his girlfriend, or make that ex girlfriend. Jessica was just using him, and he had told her so. He had no interest in seeing her again, especially after he caught her sucking off one of his so called friends in the gym locker room at school. The voice message she left was full of the usual "I'm so sorry, I never meant to hurt you," which was then followed by some tearful BS about wanting to make it up to him. No, he was though with it. There was only one person he would even consider seeing at the moment. That would be Leigh Ann, she was a wolf who was in his grade. She was beautiful both physically and emotionally. She had always captivated him, but he lost any chance with her after half of the football team started spreading rumors about her because she wouldn't sleep with them. Before that, she had actually started speaking to him. But, his friends killed any chance he might have ever had. He had actually worked up the nerve to call her Tuesday after he got home from school. He left a message, but no reply. To her he was just another airhead jock who only wanted sex. There was no way to make her see what was underneath the surface. Just as he settled down in front of the plasma TV in his room to start his night long marathon, the door bell rang and he was called by his mom. Getting up from the floor, he began grumbling to himself. He had told everyone to leave him the hell alone this weekend. His attitude suddenly shifted as he walked down the stairs and saw Leigh Ann standing at the front door. His heart skipped a beat, and he thought momentarily that he was dreaming. He had asked her to come over Friday evening, but he assumed she declined the invitation after not receiving a response. She was really here, he couldn't believe it.
"Hay Leigh Ann, its good to see you. I didn't think you would come."
"Hay Devlin, I almost didn't. But, some friends of mine told me I should."
At this his mom told the two to have fun and excused herself to the kitchen where she had been baking a cake for the next day's dinner.
"Well, I was just about to start a Halo marathon. You ever played."
Her eyes light up at the mention of the game.
"Yeah, I've played a bit. I've got to warn you though, I don't play fair."
"Good, neither do I."
With this last exchange the two ascended the stairs back to Devlin's room. His mom stepped out of the kitchen at hearing the two go upstairs. She knew Leigh Ann's mother and had called her and told her to send her over. She knew how much her son had went though, and although he would never tell her about any of it, the parents she knew talked often about going's on at the school.
As Devlin and Leigh Ann took their seats in front of the TV, Devlin thought he couldn't be any happier if he had to be. She wasn't exactly warm towards him, but she was here and that was something.
