A Different Kind of Training - part 14
#15 of A different kind of training
It's certainly getting up there with the chapters of this, huh? In this latest chapter, Ronan and the gang head off to Vermillion City while Ike adjusts to his new life and friends. I won't say too much because I don't want to spoil anything, so read on and enjoy the story.

POV Ronan
After showering up from my encounter with Draco, I took Nengan and Ike over to the pokemon center where the others were. I sent Nengan down to the Basement, while I stayed in the actual center to get Ike checked out. I walked over to the Nurse Joy at the reception counter. No matter how many cities and pokemon centers I visited, it always seemed so weird how all the nurses looked exactly the same. It made me wonder whether they were some sort of clones or something. Ignoring the disconcerting similarities, I greeted her, "Hi."
"Hello, how may I assist you?" she said in her ever-cheerful voice.
I brought out Ike's ball. "I was recently given this eevee, he's a rescue from what was assumed to be an abandoned criminal hideout. I was hoping that you could give him a full check-up, make sure that he's healthy and ensure that there's no cause for concern."
"Oh dear," Joy murmured. "What a terrible thing, having to endure criminals like that. Of course, I'll examine him for you." She took the pokeball and began heading to the door that leads into the back room.
As I followed her, I informed her, "He was being cared for at Silph Co.'s rehabilitation floor. He was being extremely paranoid about anything that they presented him with and refused to eat or drink. Apparently, he thought that they were trying to poison him or something. The only way I was able to get him to eat or drink anything was by trying some first to prove there was nothing wrong with it."
"Do you work there?" she asked curiously.
"Not exactly," I replied. "My name is Ronan Oshiro, the son of the current owners of Silph Co. I was just helping them out." We arrived at the examination room; the standard medical equipment was inside along with a couple of chairs and one of those tables that also functioned as a scale. I sat down in one of the chairs there.
"Alright, let me have a look at him," she said calmly. I brought out his pokeball and released him onto the table. He looked around at his surroundings, a confused expression on his face. "Hey there, little guy," Joy said softly. "I'm just gonna check to make sure that your all healthy, okay?"
Ike looked over at me, his eyes catching mine. It seemed as if he was unsure whether to trust the new human or not, so I nodded in hopes that would get the message to him. He sat down on the table silently. Joy grabbed a chart and began writing on it. She first took his weight, blood pressure, and I'm assuming his size, too. Joy looked at me and asked, "We should take some of his blood to test it, is that okay?"
"Yeah," I replied, "do whatever you think is best." Outwardly, I appeared calm, but on the inside, I was nervous. I couldn't help but worry about what they might find. I had no idea what the criminals did to him, but it was worrying me. As she slid the needle into him and drew the blood, I noticed that Ike didn't even flinch, as if he was more used to needles than he should be. It might've just been because pokemon are tougher than people making it so little pricks don't faze them as much, but it still worried me.
As she pulled out the needle, she said, "There, all done. I'm going to get this down to the lab and put a rush on it. I'll be back soon." She left the room, closing the door behind her.
"Ronan," Ike asked as he looked around, "what is this place?" He didn't appear fazed by any of the equipment or Joy, but that could just be his placid personality.
"This is a pokemon center," I replied. "It's where they heal pokemon. Have you ever been in a place that looked like this?" I knew it was a bit of a risk to prod him for information about his past, but I really wanted to know what happened to him and if there was anything that the criminals did to him that could be treated.
Ike shook his head. "No, not like this." He sniffs a bit as he looks around some more. "Smells clean."
"Yeah," I said, "they're very cleanly here. They treat injured pokemon here, so they keep this place as clean as possible to ensure that the pokemon's wounds don't get infected." Ike gave a small nod in acknowledgement. He stayed quiet as he sat on the table. To passersby, he probably just appeared like a very well-trained eevee, waiting for the nurse to come back.
Ike looked at me with his calm and gentle stare. "What are you going to do with my blood?" Ike asked curiously. "What kind of tests do they plan on doing on it?"
"Well," I said, "they can learn a lot about you by your blood. It's mainly to make sure that you're healthy by checking everything that's in it. They can also use it to check if you're sick with anything or not." I spoke slowly and calmly, watching Ike's reactions. I wanted to make sure that he understood that pokemon centers were a safe place for healing and that he could trust the nurses that worked here. His expression didn't change much, but he nodded along, so I assumed that he understood what I was getting at.
It wasn't long before Joy came back into the room, closing the door behind her. With a smile, she said, "I sent the bloodwork into the lab and put the priority rush on it, but it'll still be awhile. Are you going to be staying in town long?"
"I was planning on leaving in the morning," I said honestly. "Would I be able to leave a number for you to call to give me the results?" She nodded and handed me a short form to fill out, which I swiftly did before handing it back to her. "Thanks. Any estimation of how long they'll take."
"Some will be done by tonight, but others could take a few days," she replied. "We'll call you as soon as the results are in. Until they're all in, keep Ike out of any battles." She said the last part sternly as if I would ignore her advice if she didn't.
"Don't worry," I replied with a smile, "I'm not one of those trainers who forces their pokemon to fight. I'm more of one of those sappy idealistic ones who treats pokemon as equals."
Joy gave a bit of a chuckle and said, "Well, I'd prefer a sappy idealistic trainer rather than a heartless one." She looked at Ike and gently petted his head. "You got lucky getting Ronan as your trainer, Ike." He quietly purred at the soft strokes of Joy's hand and slightly nodded in agreement. Then she directed a question to me, "So, why choose to become a trainer?"
The question caught me a bit off guard. "What?"
"Why a trainer?" she repeated. "I mean, if it was just about being around pokemon, there are several other things you can do, and most pay better than the gambling that training comes with."
After a few moments of mulling it over, I gave my answer. "I grew up on watching the pokemon league battles, both on TV and in person. I saw the power that they could obtain, yes, but that's not what enthralled me. I saw the bond between the pokemon and their trainers. I saw the companionship, the trust, and the love that was shared between the team. I envied that. So, I decided to see if I could forge it for myself."
Joy smiled at my little story. "I'm glad to hear that you are one of the better trainers." She gently scratched Ike behind the ears and said, "Alright, Ike, you be a good boy, now, okay?"
Ike looks at me with just a hint of a nod and a smile before asking to be recalled into his ball, which I accept. "He seems to really like it in his ball," I observed aloud.
"Well," Joy mused, "he was likely left alone for long periods of time. In a way, he might be overstimulated by everything going on. His ball is a place to relax while he's still adjusting to his new life."
I thanked her for the insight and went on my way. The rest of the day consisted of heading back home, after everyone had finished with their fun in the Basement, of course, playing some old board games, which we tried our best to teach my pokemon to play, and eating a pleasant homecooked meal, and all the while Masu and Yari intentionally embarrassed me, which my dad just loved. By the time night rolled around, I was more than ready for bed.
We had set off south the next day. I thought we might try our hand at the thunder badge. I knew that we might have a type disadvantage with Masu, but he claimed that he could handle it easy. I wasn't so sure, but I figured that we might as well give it a go and see were stood against him. So, we went on our way, and, luckily, my home was closer to Vermillion than had I started from Saffron, so much less time traveling. But it also meant that we had to travel through the forests again instead of the road. That wasn't too much of a problem, though; it just meant more of a workout for us. Mostly me, since I had to walk the entire time, while the others could choose to just ride it out in their balls.
Apparently, the forests between Saffron and Vermillion are popular places for trainers. I wasn't entirely surprised when I saw the huge pokemon population. Most of the pokemon simply scurried away whenever I walked near; clearly, they knew that most trainers were willing to randomly attack them just for training. I wasn't that kind of trainer, although, I did have Nengan and Masu take out some nasty, territorial beedrill that attacked the moment we walked near their tree. I never did like bug pokemon much, anyways.
The trek was long, and even just a couple days in I had a lot of trainers challenge me. Some I lost, but I won a majority of them, along with a fair amount of cash in winnings. I wasn't entirely sure what I'd use it for, but I had an inkling.
It was the sixth or seventh day of the trek to Vermillion, I couldn't remember which, and it was nearing dusk. I had just started preparing supper, Nengan was lazing on a nearby rock, taking in the rest of the sun while he could, Masu and Yari were goofing around, chasing each other like children, while Ike just watched them with an amused smile on his face.
I still hadn't gotten called about the rest of Ike's results. They called me about the standard stuff, glucose level, t-cell and b-cell counts, all that kind of stuff was within normal ranges, as they put it, but they had said that they were still waiting on the results for other tests and would call me as soon as they were done. Still no call, though. I wasn't exactly worried for him at the moment, he looked and acted as normal as he is. He was quiet and introverted just as he'd been since I got him. I just wanted those results back to know for sure. We were still keeping our carnal activities away from Ike for now, which wasn't too hard since he really enjoyed his quiet time in his ball. I planned on telling him as soon as I got that call that they're taking their damned sweet time doing.
"Dinner's ready!" I called out as I began dishing up the now-finished stew for everyone as they rushed over to get their meals. Ike looked up at me as he saw that he was still just getting plain pokemon food. I sighed, "Sorry, bud, but still no call."
He nodded before eating his meal. I had been keeping him on basic food until I got the all-clear from the center. Better safe than sorry, I figured. He didn't seem to be jealous that the others were getting other food, but moreso curious as to how it tasted. Ike seemed to be getting used to his new life a bit. He started staying out of his ball more, and he seemed to really be enjoying walking through the woods and seeing all the other plants and pokemon.
As we started eating, I struck up a conversation, "So, Ike, what do you think of the pokemon battles?" The others perked up, seemingly very interested in hearing Ike's opinion.
After Ike swallowed his food, he said, "They seem interesting." He was still speaking with a soft voice, whether that's how he just normally spoke or he was conditioned to keep quiet, I wasn't sure, but it fit him well.
Nengan smiled at his answer and urged him to continue. "What do you find interesting about it?"
"The attack power," Ike said shortly. He had a tendency to do that; saying just the bare minimum to answer the questions. I'd been trying to get him to speak up more so he can voice his opinion whenever he wanted to.
I sat down in front of him with my meal and softly stroked his back before placing a finger under his chin to make him look up at me. "Ike," I said softly and soothingly, "do you remember what we talked about? About elaborating on your answers?"
He nodded and looked over to the other pokemon, "The different attacks that you use, the special ones with elements, how do you do them?"
Nengan chuckled a bit and admitted, "You know, I never really thought about it." As he tried to form figure out a better answer, Masu interjected.
"Instinct and concentration," Masu said with a cocky grin. "Those are the two keys to elemental attacks. You merely have to focus on what you want to do, and your instincts will guide you to do the rest." He seemed proud of himself for figuring out the best way to explain it before the others. He then continued to tell Ike about battling in detail, from element types and their advantages and disadvantages to how certain moves can cause special effects and just about everything in between. Apparently, his love for battling made him the perfect tutor for it, with the exception of higher strategical thinking. That definitely wasn't his strength. He basically monopolized the entire dinner conversation with his lecture about battling, not that we minded much. I honestly found it sweet just how much effort he was putting into teaching Ike. By the time we had finished supper, Masu had effectively taught Ike a good amount of information about battling, enough for him to have a working knowledge of it.
Nengan laughed as Buizel finally finished his impromptu lecture. "Well then," he teased, "who knew that mister territorial savage would turn out to be such a good teacher?"
"It is a bit of a surprise," Yari agreed. "I mean, we know you can fight, but being able to pull a lecture out of your ass like that is something else." He chuckled a bit before going to lick his bowl clean of any remaining stew.
"Hey," Masu said proudly, "if there's one thing I know a hell of a lot about, it's battling." After a few moments, he growled at Yari, "And who are you calling a savage!?"
"Oh, please," Nengan said casually, "you attacked us after we took only five steps into your territory. No warning, no giving us a chance to leave. I think that qualifies as territorial savage."
Masu crossed his arms and stared Nengan down. "That was then," he defended. "I'm definitely not a savage now."
Yari smiled and wrapped an arm around Masu's shoulders. "That's right," he agreed with a grin, "you've definitely grown out of that. Now you're just a beastly battler."
Masu smirked proudly at the praise. "Got that right," he agreed. "I'm the best damn battler here!"
A voice from nearby but out of sight calls out, "You wanna prove that, dick breath?!" We all looked to where the voice originated from, but couldn't find the speaker.
Masu growled angrily and called out, "Big talk from a coward hiding in the trees! Show yourself so I can kick your ass!"
From behind the trees and lone quilava walked out on just his hind legs. He appeared pretty ordinary with the exception of the very noticeable scars running down his face. There were three of them, two over his eyes and one right between them; they looked like claws marks from a much larger pokemon. He had a smug grin plastered on his face as he retorted, "I'd like to see you try."
Masu grinned as he saw his opponent. "Oh, I am so gonna thrash you, quill-boy!" He laughed confidently. "You picked the wrong guy to mess with."
"We'll see about that, first-stager." The quilava's burners flare up as he rushes forwards on all-fours at incredible speed, catching Masu off-guard with a quick attack and sending him sliding back a few feet.
"Need direction?" I offered to Masu.
"Not a chance," he replied. "I got this." He sent out a powerful water gun attack directly at quilava, but he was easily able to evade it, countering with a swift attack. As the energy stars materialized above quilava's head, Masu switched to that as well, countering every star with one of his own. Quilava rushed in for another quick attack, but Masu was prepared this time. He jumped up and water surrounded him as he basically rocketed through the air with his tails acting as a rotor, his aqua jet attack that he had recently learned. He went headfirst into the quilava's quick attack, sending them both stumbling backwards and shaking their heads from the impact.
The quilava groans, clearly more affected from it than Masu. "Damn water type..." he muttered.
"Giving up already?" Masu replied smugly. "Shouldn't overestimate yourself you punk-ass fire-type." He grinned cockily as he crossed his arms satisfied.
"Neither should you," the quilava retorted. His flames flared up brighter and larger. Large balls of fire shot out from them into the sky before they descended back down in an arc, a lava plume attack!
"Shit!" Masu growled as he sprinted to avoid the incoming attack. While he was busy with that, the quilava stood up on his hind legs and reached up. Above him some kind of energy was forming. It was a multi-shaded blue color. It took me a moment to realize that it was an aura sphere attack, which quilava's do not generally have. I would've told Masu, but he seemed determine to either win or lose on his own. Masu barely got a glance over at the quilava before the aura sphere exploded against him, sending him back into the log that we had been using as a bench.
Yari went to him and urged him back up. "C'mon, Masu, you can take him!" he rooted. "Kick his ass!" Masu got back up and shook it off.
As Masu was getting over that last attack, the quilava was forming another aura sphere attack, but it flickered a bit before fizzling out. "Damnit..." he muttered before trying to form another. Masu grinned as he shot out a highly-focused water gun attack, catching the quilava by surprised and hitting him square in the chest. He got pushed backwards, rolling a bit before coming to a stop. Masu shot out another burst of water, but this time formed it into a whirlpool, surrounding the quilava with spinning water.
Masu gives a soft chuckle and said confidently, "I believe that wraps that up." He gives a high five to Yari and then smiles to Ike. "Did you like the demonstration, Ike?"
Ike was just about to answer, but was interrupted when Masu suddenly got thrown about ten feet past us and into a tree by the quilava to had broken through the whirlpool with a powerful flame charge attack. He gave Masu no quarter, quickly following up with a swift attack pinning him down and then another one of his aura sphere.
After the aura sphere, I stepped in, "That's enough! You won already!" I went over to Masu, grabbing a healing potion for him. He looked alright, just a few cuts and burns which I quickly applied medicines to.
"Damn," Masu groaned, "thought I had him." He turned his head, cracking it a bit. "Ah, that's better."
The other came over, too. Ike in particular seemed curious. He had yet to see Masu lose a battle. Ike asked, "Is that what the phrase 'getting your ass handed to you' looks like?"
Nengan, Yari, and I laughed. His innocent and curious tone just made it so much funnier. "Yes," Nengan replied, "Masu totally just got his ass handed to him."
Masu could only groan out his reply, "I'll murder you all in your sleep." It was an empty threat that made us all laugh even more.
The quialava suddenly appeared next to us. He looked pretty tired and beaten as well; the battle seemed to done a toll on him as well. He looked at Masu and asked, "I didn't go too hard on ya, did I?"
Masu rolled onto his back and looked at him. For a minute, he seemed to be staring him down, but then he gave a weak grin and replied, "No such thing, right?"
The quilava smiled back and offered Masu a hand. "Leon," he introduced himself.
"Masu," he replied as he grabbed it, getting pulled to his feet. "You are one tough son of a bitch."
"You're pretty strong, yourself," Leon admitted. "Nearly had me for a minute there."
Masu chuckled and then introduced us, "This is Yari, Nengan, Ike, and Ronan."
Leon nodded. "I know," he replied, "I've been watching you since you for a while now. You guys are a great team."
"Wait," Nengan said, "you've been watching us? Why?"
"Simply put," Leon answered, "you guys intrigued me. Never met a human who could speak pokemon before."
I tapped the device in my ear, "My parents developed a translator. Still in testing, but they're letting me use one. Incredibly handy for trainers such as myself."
"I bet," Leon murmured as he eyed the small ear-piece. "Definitely makes more sense than a human learning the language of pokemon." He paused and then looked over at the food. "Think you could spare some food? That battle wiped me out."
I chuckled and began walking back over to the stew. "Not a problem." Leon and the others followed me back. Leon smiled happily as I placed a bowl of the lukewarm stew in front of him. He gratefully began chowing down on the offered meal.
Yari sat back on the log and asked, "So, you've gotten the battle that you wanted, now what? Just gonna head on off?" He decided to lie on his back with his arms behind his head, looking up at the sky lazily.
Leon swallowed his food and licked his lips before answering, "Actually, thought I might tag along. Would be fun to kick Masu's ass again."
Masu growled competitively, "You got lucky this time. I'll gladly take you on again after we rest up."
Leon smirked and cheekily retorted, "It's a date, then. In fact, I'd love it if I could spar with each of you. After a nice rest, that is."
Nengan, who had taken a seat close to the fire, yipped excitedly, "I'd love to give it a whirl sometime! Never fought another fire-type before."
Yari chuckled, "Considering how I'm the only one of our team that's managed to beat Masu, I'd have the bett-" Yari sputtered as he got interrupted by Masu shooting him off the log with a water gun attack. After the water stopped, Yari stood up and beckoned with his fist raised, "Hey, what was that for!?"
Masu smirked smugly as he replied, "See, it's not fair when someone doesn't play by standard battling rules, huh?"
Yari growled in irritation as he took a fighting stance, "Still on that? Alright, let's settle this right here, right now!"
Masu crossed his arms and turned his head, "Oh, that's real fair, let the new guy weaken me up, and then challenge me to a battle." In the most sarcastic tone he could manage, he continued, "That's totally a fair fight, huh?"
Leon looked at me a bit confused. "What's that about?" he asked curiously as he watched their little argument.
"Their first fight got interrupted by me when I captured Masu," I explained. "It's been an arguing point for them ever since." I smiled as I watched their once-hateful argument now being done in jest and near-empty threats. "I guess we've just been a bit busy and never got around to settling it with another battle."
Leon grinned, "Oh, I need to watch that happen!" After a small pause as we watched the two's argument, he asked, "So, think I could tag along?"
"Not at all," I replied. "I'd love for you to join us actually. You're clearly a strong fighter, and you seem like a good guy. Sure put Masu in his place, too." I quickly shielded my face as Masu shot me with a non-damaging water gun. I chuckled as I teased, "A bit predictable, don't you think?"
"Ah, shaddup," he retorted.
At that moment, my pokegear began ringing. I swiftly pulled it out of my pocket and checked the caller ID. Pokecenter Associates. "You guys stay here. I've got to take this." I head off a ways and out of earshot before picking it up. "Hello?"
"Is this Ronan Oshiro, trainer of an eevee named Ike?" a woman on the other end asked.
"It is."
"Hello, Ronan," she continued, "my name is Doctor Summers, a specialist that works with pokemon centers across the globe."
A rush of jumbled and confused thoughts ran through my mind. It took me a moment to form my question. "A specialist? I don't... I don't understand. Why is a specialist calling me?"
"The pokemon center in Saffron City thought it best that I take a look at Ike's results," she explained.
After a moment of processing and dozens of questions racing through my mind, I asked, "What do you specialize in?" It seemed to be the best question to get what I wanted to know quickest.
"I specialize in evolution," she answered calmly, "specifically evolution with the assistance of evolutionary stones and the radiation that comes from them."
"If this is about having Ike participate in trials or testing or the like-"
I was interrupted as she replied, "No, nothing like that. Well, not something that I'd do. I actually think something like that may have happened already." I was about to ask what she meant but she cut me off again. "Was the chart correct in saying that Ike had been imprisoned by some unknown criminals?"
"Yes," I answered, "at least, that's what I was told. Did something happen to him while he was with them?" I had started pacing without even realizing it. It was something I did when I was on the phone for a while or nervous, especially if the two overlapped. "What do you mean you think it already happened? Why do you think that?" I must've sounded very panicked and concerned.
"Sir, please calm down," she said still as calm as ever. "Allow me to explain. Firstly, there doesn't appear to be any negative side-effects from whatever treatment that were giving to him. I'm not entirely sure what they were hoping to achieve, but I do know that most of his levels are normal and that he should be fine." I breathed a sigh of relief as that helped calm me down a lot. "The reason that I was brought in on this case is because his blood shows signs of being exposed to multiple types of radiation that is given off by evolutionary stones."
"Wouldn't he have evolved after being exposed to the first one, though?" I asked.
"Normally, yes," she answered. "My first thought went to everstones, the stones used to ward of evolution for pokemon. That definitely wasn't the case, at least it shouldn't be, since they also would keep the blood pure of radiation that they give off."
"Alright, so what happened?" I demanded. "What gave him the weird results? What did they do to him?"
"Mr. Oshiro, please calm down," she said loud enough for me to hear over myself, but still as calm as ever.
I sighed and sat down with my back resting on a tree, "Sorry... I'm just worried is all."
"I know," she replied. "This all must be very confusing and difficult for you. I'm still unsure of exactly what they did to cause this sort of anomaly. I'll continue studying this and see if I can figure out the cause and what the intended effect was meant to be." She paused for a moment and then said, "There's just the matter of compensation."
"Of course," I said, "give me one moment, please." I quickly switched to the messaging app and informed my parents about the situation. After receiving a quick text simply saying for me to send them the bill, I told the doctor, "If you get in touch with Silph Co., then you can arrange a fee with them. And thank you for taking this case."
"Of course," she replied. "This is actually quite fascinating. I'll do everything I can to understand what they did to Ike and what its effects are."
I nodded despite knowing that she couldn't see me. "Thanks. If you could keep me informed, I'd appreciate it. Both texting and calling are fine."
"I'll do that. Do you have any other questions that I might be able to answer?'
"No- wait, yeah. He expressed an interest in battling. Is he fit to do so?"
After a brief moment of silence, likely considering the question, Summers replied, "Yeah, he should be fit to battle, as much so as any other pokemon that is. Just be cautious about his opponents. Don't let him take on opponents out of his league."
"Alright," I replied. "Thank you for informing me of this. At least now I know why it took so long to get back."
"Yeah. I won't take up any more of your time tonight," she said. "Good evening, Mr. Oshiro."
"Good evening," I said before hanging up the phone. I sighed and thought to myself, 'What happened to you, Ike?' I looked over at the group of pokemon who were chatting and getting to know each other. I paid particularly attention at Ike who seemed as normal as he usually was, a bit quiet but kind and courteous. "At least he seems healthy and happy," I murmured to no one in particular.
POV Leon
It was later in the night with the crescent moon high in the sky. Ike and Masu had already gone to sleep, deciding to sleep in their balls for the night. Ronan was asleep as well, his sleeping bag staving off the slightly chilly night air. The rest of us, however, had decided to stay up a bit later as we were having fun talking with each other.
I was just finishing up regaling the two of them with one of my more amusing battles. "So, this zebstrika must've decided that he was done 'going easy' on me, because he just starts trampling towards me with electricity buzzing around him like he's got a whole heard behind him to back him up."
"So, what did you do?" Nengan asked urgently, very eager to hear the rest of the story.
I gave a chuckle before continuing, "Naturally, I set out a smokescreen to get him to blind him. Now, you'd think that without being able to see properly that he'd stop charging blindly, right?" The two of them nodded in agreement. "Well, this idiot must've though, 'oh, this guy probably won't move an inch to avoid me since he set out this smokescreen,' because he charged right through the smoke and headfirst into the biggest and thickest oak around, cracking the trunk and knocking himself out cold!"
The two of them burst out laughing and I join in after a moment. "I think we have a winner!" Yari declared. "Getting someone to knock themselves out on a tree." He laughed again. "I certainly can't beat that."
"Not even close," Nengan agreed. After a few moments to come down from the hilarity of Leon's story, he asked, "So, Leon, I have a question for you. Why were you following us in the first place?"
I chuckled a bit. That was definitely an interesting story...
It had been a few months since I'd visited Draco, so I was pretty eager to see him again. However, I wasn't particularly fond of walking through the streets of a human city where a trainer might decide to try to capture me. I'd gone through the place enough times to know where the best places to avoid and to hide were, so it wasn't too much of a hassle anymore, thankfully. It was getting around dusk when I snuck into the alleyway behind Draco's home. He'd told me dusk was a good time to come since he'd still be in the lower part of the building and would be finishing up the evening shift, whatever that meant.
I knocked on the backdoor of the building a few times before it was opened. Draco opened it, standing about twice my height while I'm on my hinds he had to look down at me. He smiled happily when he saw me. "Leon!" I laughed as he picked me up and hugged me, which I happily returned.
"Hey there, Draco," I replied cheerfully. "I've missed you, bro." He and I were raised like brothers even though there was no blood between us. But as the saying goes, family doesn't end at blood. After he set me down, I asked, "So, how've you been? Anything been happening lately?"
"Not too much," he admitted. "There's always those punk kids who come in thinking their pokemon can beat me, so I gotta keep 'em in line." He puffed out his chest a bit and unfurled his wings to show off.
I chuckled, "Really? 'Cuz it looks to me like you've just been chowing down on too much food to me." I patted his belly teasingly with a cocky smirk on my face.
He gave a light scowl and retorted, "Oh, hush, ya runt, or else you can be my next meal." He licked his lips hungrily for emphasis, chuckling to himself.
I was never one to pass up an opportunity, I slyly shot back at him, "You already want to eat my meat? Such an insatiable dwaggy." I snickered as he rolled his eyes. "And here I thought that you were already mated. Is your trainer not cutting it these days?"
Draco frowned as he caught the slight distaste in my voice when I mentioned the title 'trainer.' "Still have it out for trainers?" he asked.
"With good reason," I paused and then. "Maybe we should go upstairs to chat. Not exactly fond of being so near to where trainers frequent." Before he could even reply I started walking towards the stairs.
"Yeah, sure." Then he called out to the other room. "I'm taking a break." He began following me up to his home. "You know, not all trainers are like that."
Draco had to open the door at the top of the stairs for me since the handle was just out of my reach. "I know that you got one of the rare exceptions, but not all trainers are like Tido." I head into his apartment and make myself at home, bounding onto the couch and getting comfortable, lying on my back with my head on the armrest.
Draco sat down beside me. "Not just him, though. You remember how I've told you stories about Ronan, right?"
"Rich kid, son of the couple that your mate likes to bang?" I asked crudely. He'd told me about how Tido and those two have this semi-casual relationship with since before they had met. Apparently open relationships like that were much rarer for humans than for us.
Draco chuckled a bit, "Yes, that kid. He actually decided to become a trainer as well. Started with a charmander and now has a kecleon and a buizel as well. They all seem really happy together and get along great. They all said that they enjoy traveling with him."
I smirked a bit and teased, "This is the kid that couldn't keep his hands off you while you were a charmeleon, right?" He had told me stories of how he and Ronan used to play-wrestle for fun, and it was always fun to tease him about it.
The 'zard chuckled and shook his head. "Do you ever get tired of phrasing things in the most perverse way possible?" He had a slightly annoyed tone, but that was overshadowed by the amusement in it.
I placed my hands behind my head and laughed. "Not a bit," I replied. "It makes conversations funnier and more interesting, don't you think?"
"Maybe," he mused a smile widening on his face, "but you know very well that it wasn't like that with Ronan." His wings ruffled a bit. I cocked an eyebrow as he did that because he usually only did that when he was lying or uncomfortable with the situation.
I sat up and moved next with him with the smuggest smirk on my face. "You suuuure?" I pressed playfully. "Because, it seems to me that there might be a little something more that you're not telling me." That was a total bluff. For all I knew, his little ruffle was because his wings were cramped, but I could never resist teasing my big bro like that. I could see the faintest of blushes sneak onto his face. I smirked victoriously as I could just tell that he just needed a little more coaxing to fold. "C'mon, bro, what happened to no secrets between us?"
He gave a light sigh and conceded, "Fine. So, Ronan stopped by earlier today to grab some lunch for him and his family, and he seemed a bit... different."
"Oh? Different in what way?" I placed my hands on his leg closer to me as I looked up at him eagerly waiting for him to give me the details.
His dragon-like wings shuffled a bit, most likely out of his nervousness. Whatever he was about to say was definitely worth my prying. "Mostly things that could easily be dismissed or because traveling has given him more energy and life. One thing has been sticking with me, though." I grinned and twitched my ears a bit. "He kinda looked at me different. Not so much as 'happy to see you after so long' and more 'I wonder if he would be open to trying new things.' And he seemed to be blushing, but that could've just been because of the heat."
I grinned and playfully teased, "Sounds like somebody's got himself another admirer." I snickered and poked his tummy trying to get a rise out of him.
He blushed a bit and said, "I guess I might." He batted at me with his tail in response as well.
"Hmm?" I grinned eagerly and prodded, "Do you like him as well?" He didn't reply, which was just as good as one. "Dude, you should totally go for it!"
He blushed a bit and rubbed his neck. "I dunno," he muttered. "What if we're wrong and I'm just imagining things?"
I hopped onto his lap, easily balancing on his legs. "Oh, how could he not be?" I urged. "Such a strong, sexy dragon like you? I'm surprised he didn't try to get with you before." I traced a claw along his collarbone and his chest, knowing full-well that I was starting to turn him on. "Not to mention kind, caring, and loving." I locked lips with him and kissed him licking at his lips for entry. The char was more than happy to open up and let my tongue explore his maw once again as he placed his claws on my sides to keep me steady.
The kiss was brief before I pulled back and licked at his snout playfully, staring at his shimmering eyes. His chest rumbled in pleasure as he murmured, "Should've known this was what you're after."
"As if you'd deny me," I countered with a grin. He smiled and licked at my face, smirking as he did so. "So, how long has it been since you've gotten any action, aside from that damn skilled mouth of yours?"
"Too long," I admitted. I was already grinding my sheath against his belly. "Now, are you gonna be a good big brother and let me at that ass of yours."
"For you," he purred before giving me a kiss on my forehead, "of course." I purred happily as I heard that. I could already feel my sheath begin to bulge as my tip protruded from it. "My, my," he teased as he felt my tip poke his belly, "already out? Usually you need a bit more coaxing than just me agreeing." I yipped in pleasure as I felt his clawed hand grope my sheath, his thumb rubbing against my peeking tip.
"Mmmrrr," I moaned, "like I said, been too long since I've gotten some." I thrusted into his hand as he brought the rest of my eight-inch shaft out. I smirked as I removed his hand and began grinding at his genital slit. It was already heated up and a bit slick, but his cock still hadn't erected from it yet.
"Hey!" he snapped, grabbing me by my scruff and holding me in front of him. "How many times do I have to say 'no entry?'"
"C'mon," I teased, "aren't you in the least bit curious what it'd feel like?" I thrust my hips towards his face lewdly, my dick bobbing a bit with a drop of precum forming on the tip. He frowned a bit and narrowed his eyes. "Afraid you might like it?" I asked, trying to lighten the mood.
"You sure you wanna be teasing the guy that you're trying to mate?" he asked with a smirk. It was an empty threat. I knew he wanted this just as much as I did, and he wasn't petty enough to deny both of us just because of a few jabs like that.
"Of course I wanna tease you," I replied. "It's how I show how much I love you." I thrusted towards his maw again. "So, are you planning on lubing me up, or did you want me to go in dry?"
He gave me a sideways look and chuckled a bit. "You know, you're lucky I love you so much." He brought me forwards a bit and lapped at my cock with his draconic tongue.
I moaned softly and bucked my hips. "You're so sappy," I teased. I stroked his head a bit and urged him to take it into his maw. I knew he could take the whole thing, but he always enjoyed taking his damn sweet time. He only took the first couple inches into his muzzle before stopping and slurping on it noisily. I groaned eagerly and tried to hump into his face, but he kept me at a distance. "Arceus... I know you love to tease, bro, but I _really_need to get off. I'll let you tease me as much as you want later, but I'm so fuckin' horny right now and I need that ass of yours."
He pulled off for a moment to say, "Aww, such a needy little quil. Well, I suppose I can take that deal, but you might regret it later." He flashed me a devilish smile before engulfing the entirety of my cock in his muzzle and coating it in as much dragon saliva as he could. As soon as he was satisfied with lubing me up, he pulled me back and set me down on the couch. "I missed that spice of yours," he cooed.
"Well, soon you'll be getting a buttload of it," I replied, grinning ear-to-ear. "Now, let's get to the bedroom. This couch isn't exactly big enough, huh?" He nodded and we headed into the bedroom. I quickly climbed onto the soft bed. Draco lay down on his belly in front of me with his tail curling over his back as he looked back at me from the corner of his eye with a smirk. His tip was also visible; it was starting to slip out of his slit and was pointing down at the bed covers. I whistled at the sight as he presented himself to me. He knew that I loved seeing him like this, his big, scaly ass all mine for the taking. "Damn, you're as sexy as ever, Draco!"
He gave a happy rumbling growl as he replied, "Aww, you're so kind."
I growled dominantly as I climbed on top of him, grabbing onto his tail and perching my paws on his legs. It was a bit awkward, but we'd gotten used to it from my numerous visits. I hastily lined my tapered tip up to his tailhole before shoving it in. He felt a bit tighter than normal making me moan and him growl in pleasure. "Damn," I murmured, "when was the last time you got a proper ass-fucking?"
"Been about a week," he admitted. "Tido's been in a bit of a submissive streak. Definitely not complaining about that." He grinned as he watched and growled lustfully. I could smell his strong musk, signaling that his dragon dick had likely fully emerged from its hiding place. I could taste his strong spice in the air and it drove me to thrust even faster, instinctively showing my dominance over him.
"Such a tight dragon," I murred as I practically hugged his tail base for support, thrusting into him roughly. "Gonna fill you up nicely." I licked and nipped along his tail playfully. "And you're gonna love every second of it, aren't ya?" He growled lustfully in response, flexing his hole around me and making me moan. "Yeah, that's the stuff. Sure know how to make me feel special."
"You're definitely special to me," he murred. "Not many people I'd let at my ass like you are." He shook his rump a bit.
I chuckled and gave his rump a quick, playful swat. "Keep this big, beautiful ass of yours still," I ordered greedily, "I'm not done with it yet." He chuckled as my thrusting increased in speed. The heat and tightness of his hole felt heavenly on my invading cock, and it wasn't long before his passage was getting very slick with my precum.
Draco growled as my thrusts increasingly hastened. "Fuck!" he moaned, gripping the sheets. "You weren't kiddin' when you said you were horny." He lowered his head a bit and moaned from my eager breeding.
I could already feel myself getting close, and I didn't feel like making round one last longer, so I let loose, thrusting even harder into him. I grunted from the exertion as I moaned out, "Not... a... bit!" Each word was accentuated with a powerful thrust, and only a few seconds later I could feel the dam breaking. I didn't slow down as I shot Draco full of my cream. On the contrary, my pace got faster and more erratic. "Damn, that feels so much better," I purred as I pulled out of him and hopped off him.
He rolled onto his back with his tail flat on the bed. His beastly shaft was standing tall and had some precum trailing done it. "At least one of us got off," he huffed. I knew he was only a little irritated since I'd always made sure he got off one way or another.
"Oh, relax," I replied. "You know I never leave you blue-balled. Or whatever the equivalent is for 'zards like you." I stood over his tail base with my legs on either side of it as I looked over Draco's cock. I could never get over just how beastly it looked. The knot at the base was fucking huge, although the ridges did look like they would be pleasant. The heat radiating from it and the musk wafting from it were what really drew me, though. The strong scent made my head a bit foggy in the good way.
I immediately went to work, grabbing his shaft with my furry hands to keep it still while I ran my tongue along it. Draco murred happily as he watched me work. "Damn, you've gotten good with that tongue of yours."
I licked some of the pre from the tip of his before replying. "I've had lots of practice." I took the first couple inches into my muzzle and starting bobbing along him. The taste of his pre was strong and spicy, similar to my own which made it all the more enjoyable sucking him off.
He reached down and began petting my head as I tended to his throbbing member. With a bestial growl, he said, "Arceus, you're such a fantastic cocksucker!"
I blushed heavily at the compliment. Part of me enjoyed being praised like that from him, but the other part preferred being the dominant one. So, I decided to split the difference and show him that just because I was giving him head didn't mean that I was still in charge. My member hadn't softened much from my first orgasm, and his strong, heady musk brought it back to rock-hard. So, while I was still suckling on his tip, I lined myself back up to his sloppy tailhole and hilted him in one sharp thrust.
I smirked as I heard the 'zard let out a growling moan of pleasure as both his cock and hole were being pleasured. The hand that he was using to pleasure me got a little more insistent, urging me to take more. I acquiesced without hesitation, happy to make my adoptive brother squirm with pleasure. And squirm he did as I took more than half of his thick shaft into my maw and down my throat before my jaw wouldn't open wide enough to fit any more.
"Fuckin' hell that feels incredible!" Draco growled. He tried to thrust more into my muzzle, but it was just impossible to fit more. I placed my hands on his hips and pushed, signaling for him to stay still, and, once he did, I began to bob my head along all that I could. Each time I got to the tip, I would give him a light suckle, and each time I took all that I could, I swallowed around the section that I took down my throat. All the while, my thrusting started at a steady pace of slow and powerful thrust. By now, I had swallowed more than my fair share of dragon precum; he was leaking like a broken faucet, but he tasted deliciously spicy, so I didn't mind much.
"Legendaries!" he cursed from my well-practiced talents. He lay directly on his back and his clawed hands had moved to grip the sheets rather than my head. I knew that he was just about to blow, and I was getting pretty close as well. So, I gripped his hips tightly and went all out, thrusting at the peak of my speed and strength, ravaging him as best I could despite my comparably diminutive stature.
It definitely did the trick. It was only a few moments later when I heard him give out a give a half-snarl half-growl. "Fuck!" he exclaimed loudly as his first shot was delivered straight down my throat. I was able to swallow another couple jets of his seed before I had to pull off to catch my breath. However, that earned me a large gush being forced all over my face before I could redirect it to land on Draco. The rapid tightening of his hole brought me over the edge as well. I buried myself ball-deep into him and delivered my second load of cum into him.
By the time we were both finished, we were panting tiredly. I pulled myself out of him and crawled onto his chest before lying down, not caring that I was lying on his spent seed. I smiled at him before kissing him sweetly. After several minutes of just lying there, I asked, "So this Ronan fellow, he's traveling all over?"
He looked up at me curiously. "Yeah, why?"
"And you're sure that he treats pokemon right?"
"He got them each their own personal pizza here," he chuckled. "If that's not showing that you truly care about pokemon, I don't know what is. What are you thinking?"
"Just that it might be time for me to stop traveling alone."
Back to the present
I looked at the others who were waiting for my reply and I answered with a smile, "Let's just say someone convinced me that it might be a good idea to join your team."
