"So what are you doing in this expanse? the pyrenees priestess asked.
"T' kill the Xians." Maya said.
"Then you intend to fulfill the prophecy." the girl said.
"In a manner a' speakin." Maya said. "Ah'm gonna kill the dickheads, but y'all should know ah'm not supernatural, ah'm flesh an' blood same's you. Ah don' wan' yer worship, an' Ah certainly don' deserve it." she paused then "Ah killed a lot a' people...evil people granted, but people nonetheless.."

"Ah bin forced ta' 'fore.." Maya said. "But if'n Ah fahnd X..." she paused. "Well when Ah took this contract iot seemed so simple...but nukin' X...it aint somethin AH wanna do....If there was any way t' save the innocents Ah'd go fer it."
"I see >" the girl said. "Well that is commendable, but in your place I cannot say I would do the same."
"Ah hate the dickheads much as anyone." Maya said. "But 's a mother mahself Ah Aint fond a' the idea a' killin innocents."
"Respectfully Admiral, with the Xians, THere are no innocents." Molly said. " THey are born with the genetic knowledge of their parents, and thus the belief that all life should serve them.:

THe next morning Mike and Erika joined the others in the hotel. Mike formally resuming command of the Jackson's away team.
"THis mission whether it succeds or not, is looking like a one-way trip." Jim said. "I mean no disrespect Admiral Maya, but as it is we may as well paint a giant bullseye on our hulls."
"Ah don' thank so." Maya said. "Ah caint promise ya it'll be easy, but s' long 's we stick together we kin stop 'em....Ah reckon...Ah caint be sure but we gotta try."
"Why do you care?" Larry asked. "I mean, well we are not your people...Earth is about a million years behind you...so why risk your life and the lives of your shipmates for us."
"Cause Ah see humanity as we once were." Maya said. "A thousand years ago we too fought ourselves in petty disputes...but we never stopped learnin an' growin...an' thats the potential yer species shows." she paused. "AN' cause the Dickheads wont stop...even if'n they destroyed yer world, enslaved yer people, they'd keep comin...enslavin mah peiople an ever'one else too."
"Then if Mike or I were captured..." Jim asked.
"Ah'd expect ya t' say nothin t' yer captors, an' take strength knowin Ah'd git ya out." Maya said. "We had this discussion a few years ago, fore we left Earth orbit...an' Mah decision stands."
"Thank you Maya." Mike said. "I guess we're kind of like a big family out here." he paused. "I mean...we're all in this together....and we look to you for guidance."
"Agreed. AH feel the same." Maya said.

"Is somethin' wrong daddy?" May asked Tom.
"No...not really princess...'s just well I'm used t' relaxing to the sound of the engines." Tom said.
"I know what you mean." Belle added. "Sitting on our paws like this while the Xians expand is unnerving." she paused "Still, it /is/ relaxing."
"Ah reckon so." May agreed. "Gods Belle, Ah wanna' bury mah tongue in yer sweet honeypie, an' mah nose pressed tight t' yer sweet butthole..."

Molly watched curiously. She was in love with Tom of course so she did feel a little jealousy, but nonetheless she got hot watching them. she mainly loved watching Tom pleasure May of course, but mainly she was intrigued. Molly noted the young kuvasz pup seemed to have a thing for rough collies, females anyway, as much as she had a thing for Tom in fact, and Tom was certainly eager to accomof\date. He was clearly as enthusiastic at watching May and Belle pleasure eachother as he was in making love to both of them in every hole. Hank was understandably extatic. Before the Xian war, and before his joining the Aces he had never really conmsidered himself much of a historian, but now, being here, seeing these canids at roughly Earth technology, he couldn't help thinking how curious, and yet nieve humans were. Before the Mammilians landed, extraterrestrials were regarded as myth, fantasy, and problems were focused on those at home...but then after First contact, a lot of eyes had been opened. Now he was curious to learn about these primitive canids and their culture, as it was similar to that of early 21st century Earth.

"I understand the Admiral is busy, but I have finished." Tina said. "THe formula for planetary annihilation...radiation...all that is needed."
"Good." Kara said. "All we have to do now is find X."
"And then we can blow the hell out of those bastards for what they did to Earth." Maxine added. "Make them wish they had never messed with Dixie."
"I have no interest in politics, Earth or otherwise." Tina said. "But yes you are correct."
"Assuming the Admiral approves, when we find X., we will enter a polar orbit, while the Lee takes up equatorial orbit and the Jackson takes the southern pole." Kara said. "From those orbits we can blanket the planet with autocannon fire."
"Sounds reasonable." Maxine said. "But I would like..."
"To pilot one of the fighters attacking X" Kara resoned. "Of course, providing Maya approves." she paused. "I understand your need for revenge...and I respect that, but ultimately it is Maya's decision." another pause. "That said, I am sure she will approve."

Maya lit some candles, and asked Tom to join her in meditation.
Tom agreed of course. Even before he left Earth to join Maya he was no stranger to enlightenment, and now he was even more inclined to follow the path. To that end, he relaxed, allowing Maya to guide him in deep meditation.
Sometime during the deepest point of this meditative state, Tom felt a strong presence. She appeared to him as a black and white badger-marked maremma sheepdog, identifying herself as Kayla, the goddess of Holy Estrus. She gave Tom her blessing on overcoming his species' taboos and courting young May, and claimed she would bless them with many children. Tom couldn't be certain it was anything more than a sort of waking dream, but he was more than openminded enough to consider the possibility it was something more.
Later, when he and Maya had returned from their meditative state, Tom explained what he saw, and Maya said: "A vision a' the goddess Kayla is very powerful....Ah only bin s' fortunate once...when she said AH'd fahnd ya...well she said someone interestin, but Ah know she meant ya anyway...Ah'd take it t' heart...make love with May in every hole, an' take comfort knowin the good thangs t' come." Maya said.

While Maya and the others took the time to relax, Molly used the opportunity to study the culture of the planet. The fact that May had been there before was intriguing but moreso was the culture. The planet held true to the most ancient Canid customs, and yet they held a deep sense of reverence for Maya, despite her insistance she was merely a traveler.

some days later, the shore-leave was over, everyone returned to their ships, and resumed course deeper into the Expanse. Though Excalibur had taken on another new crewman. Hira, She was a sheltie like Sam, but her reason for joining Maya's little fleet was because she had fallen in love with Hank, and while Hank had until recently maintained that he was Karen-Exclusive, he could not deny that he had feelings for the little sheltie.
Karen wasn't jealous of Hira, Just the opposite in fact. She found the newcomer sexy, and encouraged Hank to embrace the freedom of Canid sexuality the way Tom did. "You can admit you love Hira." she told Hank. "It does not mean you love me any less....or are you saying the human heart is too small to permit such feelings?"
"Not at all." Hank replied. "Its just...well...my people are naturally monogamous....it is difficult for me..."
"Understandable." Karen said. "But I love Hira too, you should give in to your feelings, and allow her to join our family."
"Sure honey." Hank relented, relieved Karen was also in love with Hira. "But you are my true love."
"As your Alpha that is understandable." Karen said. "As it should be."

Her first day aboard Excalibur was far from uneventful. After taking a blood oath and being sexxed-in by Maya, Hira spent the majority of the day in sick bay, as Doc Natalie subjected her to all manner of medical exams from bioscans to vaginoscopy, colonoscopy, and rectal ultrasound to confirm healthy ovaries, and everything in between. Hira did not enjoy these tests, but it was a small price to pay to be a part of Maya's crew.
