Scales in the tempest
I come bearing text.
It's been 2 weeks and I haven't really been up to anything.
This is just a short single-part story. I intentionally gave very little backstory so as not to give any context for sequel.
I will definitely post another story this year, it's a promise.
Like always, don't hold back on comments, suggestions and criticisms.
And like always, pls tag.
But soon the night grew silent…
The storm was raging outside. Such weather was not unheard of but still, preparation was necessary. But what one can do living in a humble house in the mountains, miles away from civilization. The nearest city was forty days of travel away. Forty days! That’s over a month. Such a waste of time.
Andrew was sitting in a soft armchair and reading a book, his face illuminated by a nearby oil lamp. His eyes were following the text but his thoughts were elsewhere. It was soon time again to go to the city for supplies, he was running low on burning oil, brandy and a few other necessities. He had to visit the market of Ghu’tanath at least once every two to three years, that was the price he had to pay for living in solitude. It has been over twelve years this way. Instead of running business like his father wanted, Andrew took his share of vast family fortune and settled away from bustling cities. He despised people, who only had one way of living, the infamous motive of “Be born – earn and spend money – die”. He was disgusted by the over-rationalistic and materialistic views of his family. Although he remembered his mother crying when he told her he’d leave permanently, it was his choice to make. Oh, and just before he left, she had already bought a new dress and planned a party for that night. Her son leaving for ever did not affect her the least bit. Andrew shivered with cold and stood up to stoke up the fireplace when he heard a loud thud from the porch outside. He silently jumped towards the table in the corner of the living room and grabbed under it – he had a sword stashed there. Times were harsh and a decent weapon was a must-have thing in every home. Bows required extensive training to use and crossbows were clumsy and took ages to reload. Just as he approached the front door, Andrew heard someone smashing his door. Smashing, not knocking. It sounded like the hand used to land blows on the door was iron clad. He hesitantly yet quickly opened the door and pointed the blade towards the intruder and… got scared to his near death. A dragon. Thankfully, a small one. Still, big enough to kill him in one blow if it were to jump him on sight. The lightning reflected on its silver-white scales. But aside from the rain the fierce beast was soaked in blood. Its own blood, judging from the deep gash coming from its shoulder almost to its thigh. The beast’s eyes burned with rage, or, perhaps, desperation. He heard a low, rumbling growl fueled by pure anger.
“FINISH ME!”
Another furious growl and a claw swung towards the door frame. It left small gashes on the wood.
“I SAID FINISH ME!”
Dragon’s front claw landed just near his foot as it approached. He swung his sword and saw the beast relatively calmly close its eyes but he hit it in the head with the handle of his weapon. The dragon collapsed, unconscious and Andrew’s first logical thought was “What do I do now?” – he was lucky to leave this unusual encounter unscathed, yet his hands were trembling, his grip on his sword barely strong enough to keep it from tumbling down, and his heart was racing faster than he thought possible. He was facing death, after all. But the dragon was still alive. Although its breathing was weak and occasional convulsions shook its scaly form. “Well, I don’t think there is another way” – he thought as he grabbed the unwanted guest by its shoulders and dragged it inside. “This will be a hard night” – he thought as he pulled his illness kit, as he called it, from the wardrobe.
The dragon woke up when Andrew twitched his hand whilst applying bandages on the beast’s wound. First he didn’t notice that his guest had opened a single cyan eye and pointed its look to him. A small rumble resonated from the beast’s throat.
“I… I said finish me, not help me.”
“You can kill yourself when I’m done.”
He was annoyed by the reproof – a thank you would suffice.
“Why would you… Why would anyone do this?”
“Do you mind?”
“I wanted to die. I still do.”
The female dragon, as he assumed from its voice, was trembling slightly, making his already difficult work even harder. He wasn’t a skilled doctor, barely good enough to treat people, dragons were a whole new area. Yet the anatomy was fundamentally the same.
“I said, you can kill yourself when I’m done.”
“Wouldn’t it be easier to do as I requested and put me out of my misery?”
He couldn’t take it anymore – his prolonged solitude resulted in decrease of his social skills. When he spoke, his voice was louder than he’d like.
“Do you even realise what are you asking for? I don’t want your death on my consciousness so just shut up and let me do my thing.”
Her trembling intensified, and she let out a loud roar of agony.
“Please, I beg you… I can’t take the pain anymore…”
He wasn’t all that affected but he sighed in displeasure.
“Just bear with me for a while. I’m nearly done. Then I’ll give you something for the pain.”
He finished wrapping the bandage – he couldn’t make stitches – with scales it was nearly impossible. So instead he applied recovery-incenting medium and wrapped it all over. Just as he finished tying her up, he pulled a bottle of high-quality brandy from the cupboard. First he took a sip himself then gestured an offering for the dragon.
“This may taste unusual and somewhat unpleasant, but it effectively dulls the senses for a short time. Dizziness and nausea is a side effect.”
She clumsily grabbed the bottle and took a few sips. Frowning dragon was a sight to behold – her throat was probably burning, although not literally. Sometimes, their throats burned literally when they breathed flames. She destroyed a significant amount of his liquor and mumbled a thank-you before handing him the bottle.
“I will leave soon. Dragons recover from injuries very rapidly.”
“Do as you please.”
She hesitated for a moment before speaking again.
“I am sorry for scaring you earlier and for being stupid and saying stupid things moments ago. I should have appreciated what you do for me.”
“It’s fine. Don’t bother yourself.”
“No it’s not. But thank you for saying.”
“Do you have a name or is there another way you want me to address you?”
“My name is Tanya. Any other dragon would be insulted by your question. By tradition it is impolite to ask a dragon for their name. You ought to wait until they decide to tell it to you themselves. I don’t mean to reprove but I thought you should know.”
“Thank you, I will consider this useful if I happen to meet another dragon. My name is Andrew.”
“I don’t think I have the right to ask but I would prefer some time alone.”
“Sure. Just call me if you need anything. You are my guest now, regardless of whether you want this or not.”
Without waiting for her answer he left his resident to ponder her thoughts.
The next day storm reached its apex a few hours after noon. Andrew left for just a moment to close the shutters and when he returned he was completely soaked. The trip to the city will have to wait – this storm may last for up to a few days. His thoughts wandered, and he imagined himself flying on the back of a silver dragon. What a stupid idea. Tanya was barely big enough to carry him on her back if she wanted to, but certainly not fly with him. And she’s a sentient, intelligent being. They do not carry humans for their pleasure or otherwise. Or she could make the trip alone and buy him the things he needs. But she’d probably steal his money and never return. Yet again, what a stupid idea. Andrew sat in front of the fireplace and stripped to dry his clothes and himself. The flames were roaring in a somewhat pleasant low-pitched sound. He never thought that sound might be enjoyable, but apparently it was. He just sat there, thinking over the bizarre things that happened recently. He met a dragon. Had a brief and imminently violent encounter, actually. Then had a chat, patched her up and had a drink with her. Thinking back, Andrew now considered that scaly beast a great anti-solitude medicine. He was locked up here, with the storm raging outside. Leaving would be a literal suicide. She might turn out to be hostile, though. But still, he saved her life, so if she had at least a droplet of decency, she will reconsider her violent ideas, should they arise in the first place. He thought he should probably get her something to eat as she hadn’t eaten anything since they met, aside from that half a bottle of brandy. On an empty stomach, the effects would be nothing short of unpleasant. For humans, at least. Andrew stood up, accompanied by such thoughts and since the house was pretty well warmed up, he had little discomfort traversing the rooms wearing barely anything. Only his undergarments, to be exact. If one would say that he was well-built, it could be considered an understatement. Andrew remembered some of his old acquaintances saying he could shatter boulders with those abs. He was proud that living alone forced him to involuntarily work on his body shape. It was either that or quick death here in the mountains. He reached the kitchen and scooped up what little raw meat he had. His thoughts wandered off again, thinking if dragons ate raw meat. Well, he can cook it, if anything. He knocked at the door and heard his guest say “Come in”. As soon as he entered, Andrew felt an immediate presence of an earthy aroma that wasn’t present when he last was here. It wasn’t unpleasant, though. He observed the winged lizard staring through the closed window, like if she could see through. When he spoke, she still seemed distracted, as if not hearing him at all.
“I assumed you would be hungry. Do you prefer your meat raw?”
Only now she turned her absent gaze towards him.
“It doesn’t really matter. Dragons only eat cooked food when staying at their clans.”
She focused her eyes onto his form and frowned slightly, then spoke after a short pause.
“Why are you not wearing almost any clothes?”
Tanya’s voice sounded fairly irritated, as if she despised him because of his relatively exhibitionistic act.
“Well, it’s warm inside and I got soaked while closing the shutters. I worked my ass off today and I was too tired to go upstairs for new clothes as I set my garments to dry.”
She sighed with relief, presumably, and even slight displeasure – her sigh was almost a growl.
“Yes, I am hungry.”
Andrew nodded in silence and put down the platter on the nearby table and set to leave when he heard her ask –
“Did you have yours?”
“Yes, I did.”
“And how was that?”
It was something different about her tone of inquiry, like if she was intentionally driving away from the topic while still talking about the same things. Like if she was putting effort to keep her thoughts elsewhere.
“It was good and plenty. I will return for the empty platter shortly.”
But she was already devouring the food and did not hear him. Or didn’t want to. Andrew’s head was in chaos. He had no idea how to interpret her behavior or even what to think of it. It seemed like he plopped down onto his armchair seconds ago when he heard a muffled burp and slight clattering of metal from her room. He stood up and simply went there, trying not to taunt the dragoness or enrage her otherwise. Without a single word he picked up the platter and turned to leave when he heard her growl. Of anger, presumably. They both turned to each other and Andrew saw her eyes almost red with anger.
“Why… why do you keep coming? Can’t you just sit there for a minute and wait? Do you need this metal disk so badly? I’ve had enough!” – her growl was growing louder by the minute – “Do you have any idea how inconsiderate it is for you to come here half-naked and… and look so damn good here?! As if I don’t want you badly enough. I’m just sitting here, burning up in my arousal, in my lust and…”
She seemed lost in her words, but that was more than enough for him to estimate the current situation.
“WHAT?!”
Her anger disappeared without a trace.
“Oh snap, I actually said that.”
She was quite unfortunate to be born silver-white because her blush was obvious at the very least. Well, saying she blushed was an understatement – she looked like someone spilled some red wine on her snout and cheeks. Tanya darted under the bed with the speed and grace of a feline.
“Please leave now.”
Her voice was silent and calm but Andrew knew she was embarrassed as hell. Against all odds and his common sense telling him to do as she says, he sat down on the bed she was hiding under and simply said –
“No.”
“Why?”
“Tanya, are you in heat?”
“No, and that’s the worst part…”
“Why?”
“Because that’s why what happened is my fault. It is my head controlling my words and actions, not my instincts.”
He smiled at her wit. She was damn right.
“You know, humans have a proverb – you cannot control the path your heart takes.”
She peeked her hear out from under the bed.
“I know that but I still can’t and won’t forget myself for insulting you.”
“Insult? You told me you want me. How is that an insult?”
“Because if we were to sleep together, as you humans say, we would be exiled from our own kinds.”
“Well, I already am.”
Tanya now completely withdrew herself from her hiding place.
“What, you slept with a dragon before?”
“No, it was my choice not to return to the amongst of my kind.”
“I assume you had your reasons.”
“I did. Now if you would tell me how did you end up half-dead on my porch?”
She instantly looked away, like it was her fault that she nearly died, like it was a stupid stunt of some kind.
“Humans did that to me.”
“I assume they had their reasons, right?”
“The fact that I’m a dragon is a reason enough to them.”
“So, you really didn’t do anything to anger them?”
“Well, I stayed in a cave near their village against their request. They asked me not to occupy that cavern because they had something planned for that, but it was clear that they were just afraid of me. And I had nowhere else to go.”
“And what resulted in your desires for a particular human, then?”
“You helped me, and you look good. All the humans I’ve seen are either obese or otherwise degraded.”
Andrew sighed. He realised he was standing at the crossroads – he had an important decision to make. Either turn this beast down and ask her to leave or risk getting scraped badly and possibly have some good time with her. After all, she wasn’t disgusting or anything. He thought of his own desires. He hadn’t had a woman to enjoy for almost half of his life – that was the price of living like a hermit. A dragoness might be nice.
“You know, I thought about what you said before and…”
“You don’t need to remind me of my perversions. I consumed enough of your hospitality, I am leaving now.”
“Yes, but I thought of taking up on your offer, that is, if you ever made one.”
“Wh… Are you sure?”
“No, but I am curious at the prospect.”
She blushed again, this time not as intensely but still more than enough to be visible.
“Thank you.”
“We still haven’t done anything.”
“What… what are we supposed to do?”
Tanya was shy, it was very not-dragonly of her. Andrew assumed that dragons would be the most straightforward creatures to walk this earth. But here she was – blushing and speaking with a shaky voice like a teenager girl having “The talk” with her mom about sexuality and other teenager-related concerns.
“Just… do as I say, okay?”
“I’ve never done this before.”
“That’s exactly why you should do as I say.”
“Okay.”
Her voice grew silent, barely audible even. But at least her red cheeks faded. Andrew cupped her head and only now felt that her scales were smooth, almost like hide. He pressed his mouth into her snout and heard her purr of contentment. After almost a minute they pulled away from each other and he saw her eyes sparkling – she definitely liked that.
“I saw humans do this once. What is it?”
“Human courtship ritual. An introduction before something more fun.”
Like having read his thoughts, Tanya lied down on the bed, her belly facing upwards, and he got on top of her. She looked at him, her tail swishing with anticipation, as he straddled her hips.
“Is there anything else to do before the main… thing?”
“There is, but I’d rather leave that to your second time. The first time should be as intense as possible.”
“Ooh, are we going to do this again later?”
“By saying your second time, I had in mind you with another dragon, certainly not me.”
“But if I want you, just for now?”
“So you get me, just for now.”
He got rid of his underpants and his already erect shaft pressed against her moist slit. Andrew realised that the scent he picked up earlier in the room was her arousal, as the same aroma was now thick in the air.
“Ready?”
Her low growl was his answer as she clenched her eyes tight and tensed her muscles.
He slowly and sensually rubbed his hands along her entire form and planted a soft kiss on her chest scales.
“Relax, it will be so much easier for both of us.”
Tanya took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as her muscles relaxed and her wings dropped to her sides. Andrew placed his hands on her shoulder blades and pushed in slightly, his stiff manhood parting her soft folds. She was warm, almost hot, and very wet. He felt her gasp at the contact and grip him tighter. Slowly but surely Andrew continued his journey down her cave of love and as soon as he hilted her he felt her draconic form relax. He lifted his head and their eyes met – hers were bright cyan color and shining with pleasure.
“It feels… so good.”
“That’s just the beginning.”
He seemingly collapsed on her chest and withdrew himself slightly. When Andrew rammed back in, he felt her paws on his shoulders, her thighs pressing against his hips and her tail coiled around his legs. Wherever they made contact, he could tell that her scales were quite smooth. He kept slowly moving back and forth until he heard her low growl, then he stopped only to feel her grip tighten even more.
“Don’t stop!”
She was now moving with him, her limbs still caressing him from all sides. Her eyes were closed, but not clenched shut like before. Now they were in almost dreamy, tranquil state. Her vent clenched hard on him, forcing a grunt from him.
“Sorry…”
“That felt nice, actually.”
Instead of squeezing him inside herself, Tanya now applied constant pressure and thus intensified his sensations. Andrew now pounded her pussy with forceful and quick thrusts, effectively working towards their grand finale. Without a clear consent she pressed her snout to his lips and felt his hands cup her head again. He felt his impending orgasm approach and somehow knew that she was close too. Just before they came she clenched her vent around his shaft and wrapped him with her wings, without breaking their fiery kiss. Tanya knew she will enjoy the feeling of being filled with his cum and braced herself, yet again strengthening her grip on her partner’s body. She let out a loud roar of passion when Andrew spilled inside her. What he felt was nothing short of getting struck by lightning – his head was dizzy and breathing constricted. When everything settled down, both were panting heavily.
“I… don’t think… I need to say anything…” – Tanya managed through her ragged panting.
“I thought the same thing.”
Their gazes met again and moments later, so did their mouths. Andrew felt her tongue enter his maw and wrap with his own. When they pulled away, she made clear effort to make him stay wrapped by her limbs. She licked at his neck affectionately and looked into his eyes again.
“Do you mind if I stay for a while?”
“No, I don’t. But if this goes on, I will run out of food soon.”
“You mean, if we keep making love, you will run out of food faster?”
He laughed at her joke, she was making him very happy.
“No, that happens if you stay. Can you hunt?”
“Yup.”
“That’s settled then, we go hunting tomorrow.”
“And now we go to sleep.”
“Stay here, will you?”
“Oh, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.”
