Tale 2 - Dezzy's First Trip
#2 of Chronicles of the Gracious Gut
Newcomers are always nervous their first time. Dezzy was no exception. Thankfully, the Gracious Gut has a great deal of experience in easing the fears of those who have never traveled by belly before. He was assigned a veteran, a green dragoness named Rosetta, who would take him where he was hoping to go, and get him there quicker than the usual route.
Though shortcuts usually came at a cost, often meaning greater danger.
This is a YCH story commission for Dezzy Kitsune.

The term 'word of mouth' tended to take on a different connotation around the Gracious Gut. Usually it was used as something of a joke, referring to a good review from someone you had eaten recently. It was still just as effective as when it wasn't part of a joke. It was one of the main methods of drawing in new customers.
Dezzy was no exception. The fox had been wanting make a trip to a town that had been too far away for him to travel safely on his own. When he had heard of this odd guild, initially he was hesitant to give it more than a passing thought. But the reviews about their service certainly qualified as 'glowing'. It slowly emboldened him to explore, do a little fact finding.
The slightly timid fox found himself standing in the entryway to the large guild hall. He could see all manner of people going about what were the usual goings-on for such a place. Seeing people willingly feed themselves to someone larger left him with an uncertain feeling in the pit of his stomach. There had to be something to all of this, otherwise the guild would have been shut down long ago, right?
"Hey, you new?" called out a voice belonging to a large bear in possession of a heavy, gently squirming gut.
Dezzy jerked his head towards the voice with a start. His eyes looked the beast up and down before taking to stare at his belly.
"Y-yes... I'm... I'm new. Is there somewhere new people go?" the vulpine bit his lower lip as he watched the hypnotic movement in the ursine's middle.
"Yeah, you looked new. You've got that 'just seeing the world for the first time' look. There's a first-timer's reception area back towards the back. They'll help get you sorted out. And don't worry, you'll be just fine." the bear smiled, continuing to walk.
The big fellow dropped a heavy paw down on top of the fox's head, giving his hair a bit of a ruffle in a kindly gesture on his way out. He had places to be and people to transport after all. Dezzy straightened out his hair and looked deeper into the hall. He spotted what he thought might be the area he had been directed to and ventured forth. As he passed by the various waiting areas for travelers looking to journey to different destinations, he caught sight of many of them disappearing into their various designated 'travel buddies' as some preferred to be called.
It was difficult to not stare, and it tickled something deep in the fox's gut. He was actually starting to find something about this rather alluring. The guild guaranteed safe passage, and to do so concealed inside someone like that sounded rather intimate. He found that idea appealing. When he reached the newcomer reception area, he encountered yet another large creature, a bull, sitting at a table, looking through a stack of papers. He looked up as the vulpine approached.
"Hello, welcome to the Gracious Gut. I take it you've not traveled with us before?" his deep baritone voice was soothing.
Dezzy fidgeted a little as he was addressed. The bull seemed kindly enough and had a friendly smile. The fox's eyes darted from the bovine to the other large folks doing what the guild had hired them to--eat people.
"Y-yeah. It's my first time. I'm... uh... I'm not sure what to do." the vulpine fought to keep from stammering.
"That's pretty normal. Don't let what you see shock you. It's all completely safe. Where are you looking to go?" the bull turned away from the table to face Dezzy properly.
For a few moments, the fox wasn't quite sure what he meant. His mind ran to all sorts of possibilities. He had seen people being swallowed, shoved under-tail, and even pushed into some very tender regions indeed. He started to blush as he tried to force himself to answer.
"I... um... well... I don't... it's just." Dezzy lifted a hand, pointing at a few examples of different methods of entry as someone slipped into someone else.
The bull chuckled and shook his head, lifting a hand to catch the nervous fellow's attention.
"No, I mean where do you want to travel to? That's going to dictate who you'll be traveling with." he flashed his winning smile again.
The fox blinked, realizing his mistake and nodded. He fumbled with the word for a moment before finally managing to get it out.
"I'm trying to get to Portsmount. That's not too far away is it?" he asked.
"No, it's not too far away. It's a bit longer than the usual route, but it's still within reason. It does limit you to one particular person who can take you." the bull lifted a hand and turned his head, glancing over at someone to summon them over.
Dezzy turned to look to see the person in question. As soon as she stood, the fox could see she was rather tall. That was normal for those who worked for the guild. What was out of the ordinary was her build. She was slender and graceful, wearing simple clothes that left her stomach uncovered, no doubt so she wouldn't have to worry about anything ripping. She wore a badge near her left shoulder denoting her station as a member of the guild.
"Rosetta, you've got one." the bull called out.
Rosetta--as it turned out the dragoness was named--waved back and began making her way to the table. She was a pale green, very spring-like, with long gently wavy locks of white hair. A pair of spiraling horns stood out from her 'mane'. Her tail swished slowly behind her as she approached, the end curled upward to remain near one of her shoulders. As she got closer, Dezzy could see why. The end of the long, slender limb was a second head, looking very much like a snake's. Its eyes remained fixed on the vulpine with a look of curiosity.
"Just one?" the lady asked, her voice pleasant, lacking disappointment or contempt. She simply wanted to make sure.
"That's right. And it's his first time. This is-" the bull paused as he turned to look back at their guest, "I'm sorry, I didn't get your name."
"Dezzy. It's... it's a pleasure." the vulpine extended his hand towards the lady.
She was more than a meter taller than him, possibly close to two. She reached out with a hand covered in a lacy fingerless glove and took his with a soft squeeze.
"A pleasure. So you're going to Portsmount?" Rosetta gazed down at him, again, lacking any contempt or scorn. She was simply trying to do her job.
"Yes ma'am. I guess it's kind of an odd route from here?" Dezzy went back to fidgeting as he stared up at the lady. He couldn't help but think her rather pretty.
"Oh please don't call me ma'am. If you're going to ride around inside me, formalities are out the door. Just Rosetta. Heck if you're so inclined, you can just call me Rosie." she smiled, sharing the friendly expression of the bull.
"Rosie? Okay... thanks. So, Portsmount isn't any trouble?" the fox asked.
"Well, it's a little tricky. Most people go wide around it, like through Shirebrook down to Gilder. There's a shorter way, but it's usually too much for most folks around here to bother with. I can't blame them. It takes a special sort to get through the bog." the lady replied as she pulled out a chair to sit.
"The bog?" Dezzy tilted his head, "Oh, well I guess someone big and heavy would have a hard time getting through a bog."
"Aww, is that your way of saying I'm skinny?" Rosie grinned, clearly giving the vulpine a playful tease.
Dezzy blushed and cracked a little smile.
"Well... I'd be lying if I said you weren't." He liked this dragoness.
"You're sweet. But yeah, that's part of it. The usual guild member is a particular build that makes getting through bogs tough. Then there's also the fact that it's not exactly healthy for most people. The air there is pretty toxic. But you won't have anything to worry about it. Good ole Rosie shrugs that stuff off without any trouble. And you'll be safe and sound inside me. You just gotta pick a spot." the lady grinned, proud of her accomplishments.
"Hold on," the bull said, "Before you get that far along, we've got a little paper work to do."
For something as simple as being eaten, there was a bit of a to-do about it. Dezzy opted to skip signing up for membership within the guild for the time being. It was his first time after all. He didn't know how he might feel about the whole affair after his trip was over. The rest was to inform the guild of who to contact should something happen. It only lightly listed digestion in what could possibly occur. It was more about wildlife or aggressive encounters that could result in injury or loss of life. It provided a mix of comfort and discomfort.
When everything was signed and filed away, it finally came down to the big moment.
"Since this is your first trip, I think we'll keep things simple and just go with the standard stomach-ride. Is that alright with you?" Rosie asked.
"That should be fine by me." Dezzy stood still, his tail curled around himself.
He had already undressed once everything the guild needed was handled. His clothing and belongings were already stowed away in a very curious pouch that didn't show any sign of what it might contain. Rosie had moved to sit down on the floor so they were closer to eye level.
"Then let's get this show on the road." the dragoness reached out, taking hold of Dezzy's sides.
She pulled him close and gave him a fond little kiss on the forehead. She had found that was a fine way to ease fears for first-timers. And it did the trick. The fox relaxed his posture as she worked her jaws a little. The lady then opened her mouth and began slipping the orange-furred fellow in. Normally, the green drake liked to go slow and really appreciate her passengers, but that was only with repeat customers who trusted her. This was the vulpine's inaugural trip into her belly. Speed was usually more appreciated than 'attention to detail'.
The first good gulp dragged his shoulders into her throat, pressing his head deep into her neck. The dragoness stretched with ease around him. The warm, slick walls hugged his form and rippled around him, working to drag him deeper. It was an oddly comforting experience so far. Another swallow pulled his chest into that humid interior and sank him down into the woman deeper still. Her heartbeat filled his ears, remaining slow and steady. She was a veteran, not to be shaken by such a routine exercise.
Dezzy himself was still a little out of sorts. He was being eaten. That usually came with a certain degree of finality to it. And yet he was assured he would arrive unharmed in a few days. The instinct to struggle was very strong, and he fought with all his might not to give into it. When his hips passed the lady's jaws, he couldn't help but squirm at least a little. She didn't seem too disturbed or distracted by it.
His inward progress stopped as soon as his head reached the lady's stomach. The chamber gurgled quietly around him, forcing him to start curling up. Out the dragoness' belly began to swell as she continued to devour him. His thighs passed without trouble, as did his knees. In but a precious few moments, she was gently guiding the fox's paws into her mouth and gulping them down.
One final swallow sealed the new passenger away and Rosie sighed happily, giving her middle an affectionate pat. It continued to stretch as more of the fox descended, landing inside after his slippery trip. Dezzy was still panting, though not the full panicked gasps of someone feeling they were in danger. He had not descended into irrational terror. A quiet burp surrounded him as Rosie let him settle, rubbing over him fondly.
"Mmm, you're tasty. Come see me anytime you wanna go somewhere. I'd be happy to take you wherever you wanna go." Rosie smiled down at her bulging gut.
"Y-yeah? I'll... keep that in mind!" Dezzy called out, thinking he had to shout to be heard.
"Woah, easy there. I can hear you just fine honey." the dragoness chuckled.
"Oh, sorry," the fox blushed, "So um... what happens now? Do I need to do anything?"
"Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Get some sleep if you want. I'm told I'm pretty good for insomnia." Rosie grinned.
Dezzy chuckled a little, understanding why that might be the case. It was very warm inside her, and the slick, spongy walls cushioned him very nicely. He couldn't have guessed he would be as comfortable as he was, but he was experiencing it first hand. A yawn escaped him as he finally let himself relax completely. If something dreadful was to happen, he wouldn't be able to do anything about it, so he saw no point in worrying. And the dragoness had been very accommodating so far.
As Rosie sat there, stroking her now nicely full tummy, she felt his movements slow until she could feel the gentle, steady rise and fall of his breathing. He had fallen asleep quickly. That was probably for the best. First timers rarely enjoyed staying awake for long once they were in. The now occupied lady lifted herself to her feet and stretched, arching her back to push her very visible tummy outward. She loved having someone inside her. It felt rather marvelous carrying them around with her wherever she went.
The dragoness collected her things, including the pouch Dezzy's belongings were nestled inside, and waved to the bull. He would take care of any paperwork left undone for her. She could go ahead and leave immediately, but she decided that wasn't necessary. Rosie stopped by her favorite tavern for a quick meal before heading out. She read through the latest edition of the town's newsletter as she gingerly and daintily nibbled away at her lunch. Having two mouths made the trick of staying fed while transporting someone much easier for her. The snake head at the end of her tail happily ate whatever it was fed.
"You've got a cute one in there this time," the snake said, "Think I'll get a chance to try him?"
"I dunno. It depends on if he likes this." Rosie replied.
That was another practical upside to all of this. She could have conversations with herself. The two chatted idly as the snake ate for the both of them. Rosie paid for the meal, then took her leave. This time, she aimed for the edge of town and just kept going once she got there. Her hands remained glued to her belly, rubbing tenderly in steady circles over the firm swell. She really did enjoy her work quite a lot.
It didn't take long for her to leave the other travelers behind, striking out down a road most everyone avoided. The weight didn't slow her down. She was used to hauling someone along with her as she trekked up the rough path leading through the mountains. It was at least a day's walk before she reached the point where most turned around and went back. Rosie stopped to make camp for the night, curling up protectively around her belly as she slept.
When morning came, she rose early. This was the tricky part of the route. The air quickly turned foul, smelling of rotten eggs. A hazy yellowish-brown mist began to color the air as she descended into a basin amidst the tall peaks. It would take some time to get through, a full day's walk at least. Thankfully, she would have plenty of time to get out before it turned dark again. Unfortunately, she wouldn't be able to stop to eat until after she reached the other side.
The unpleasantness in the air tended to make everything taste horrible. It wouldn't bother her stomach, but she didn't plan to eat if she didn't have to because of the foul taint the sulfur bogs coated everything with. And the longer one stayed, the deeper it sank in. She would need to bathe thoroughly and wash her clothes a few times to get the smell out. But it meant a trip of only three days as opposed to a week and a half. Dezzy would appreciate that on his first time.
There was no proper road leading through the bogs. It was best guess picking a place to put a foot down. Rosie was familiar enough with the terrain to know where to step and what direction to go. She moved carefully, not lingering but not being too hasty about anything. She certainly didn't want to fall into the muck. Besides the awful stench, it had a tendency to burn unpleasantly. It wasn't anything she couldn't handle, but why deal with it if you could avoid it?
Thankfully, she reached a clearing where the ground turned more solid, providing a less winding path to take. Unfortunately, she wasn't alone.
As soon as she made her way to 'the island' as he called it, she heard voices. Angry, uncivilized ones. She cursed under her breath as she hunched down and slipped behind a sizable rock.
"I don't care what you say! We ain't had nuffin' ta eat fer four whole days! I'm starvin'! I want food!" screamed one of the voices.
Rosie recognized the dialect. There was only one sort of fool dumb enough to spend any more time than necessary in the sulfur bogs. She peered out from behind the rock just long enough to spot the very thugs she had identified. They were wrapped in shoddy, torn, decaying furs and skins. The nasty air in the bog tended to make clothing wear out faster. There were three of them, and they all brandished large clubs. They were reptilian, but not dragons, and their gnarled hides gave them a disgusting, diseased appearance. It was because they didn't have the good sense to get out of the bog.
"Well we ain't got no food! You're just gonna hafta be hungry! We ain't leavin'! I claimed this spot and it's mine! I ain't lettin' no one else take it!" shouted another of the primitive beasts.
"Maybe I oughta just kill and eat you!" the first one shot back.
The sound of something hard hitting flesh thumped very quickly after.
"No one ain't gonna eat no one! I ain't lettin' you be that stupid! Now sit! If you want food, then wait for it ta come wanderin' through!" the first one commanded.
Rosie suppressed a growl, trying her best to sneak her way through without being seen. She kept her distance, taking cover as frequently as the terrain allowed. There was no way she was about to get in the middle of that if she could help it. Unfortunately, there was one aspect to all of this she had not counted on.
"You smell that!?" hissed one of the thugs.
"I do! Smells fresh! Find it!" bellowed the one that had to be the leader.
The dragoness cursed again, now properly mad at herself. There was no way Rosie was going to outrun them. Dezzy wasn't the concern. The bog was. She would get to the edge of the island--which wasn't that far away--and have to go back to her careful footing. These lumbering oafs would probably just thunder right on through and send her splashing into the muck. Then they would have her.
It was time for a different tactic, so she took a breath, put on her best seductive smile, and stood up. She strolled casually out from behind the rock she was hiding behind, making sure to give her gait a sensual quality to it. Sex always beat out hunger for these lowlifes.
"Well hey there boys. I was wondering when you were gonna notice me." Rosie lowered her voice to give it a husky tone.
All three of the primal reptiles screeched to a halt as they caught sight of her. Their eyes widened as they drank in the vision before them. It wasn't hard to be the pretties thing in such a place, and she excelled marvelously. She ran with it and it was working well for her.
"Oooh, it's one'a them smooth ladies!" said the leader, excited, "She's mine! I claim her! She's in my territory so she belongs ta me!"
Rosie didn't falter or waiver in her scheme. She knew she could get away if she could just stir things up a bit.
"Oh now don't say that. There's enough of me to go around. Why wouldn't I want to make all three of you big, strong, strapping boys smile?" she gestured to the trio.
"She wants us all ta have her!" said the one that had been quiet until then.
"I'm the chief! I say she's mine! You don't get none!" shouted the leader.
"Oh but it's so boring being stuck with just one of you. Can't you share? Or maybe one of you can rescue me from him!" Rosie leaned forward, pressing her arms against either side of her chest to accentuate her bust.
The act was performed carefully. If she leaned too far forward, she might fall right onto her face. One of the down sides to being a member of the guild. It made seduction more difficult. Usually. She never much cared for using her looks to get out of trouble, but then this was an exception.
"I say we share!" cried the quiet one.
"She's mine!!" bellowed the leader. He swung his club, bashing it against the other's chest to send him sprawling.
It didn't take much to get them going. That was why Rosie was comfortable enticing them. It wouldn't lead anywhere near her having to do anything more than say a couple of lines. The downed reptile climbed to his feet, screeching angrily as he tackled the 'chief'. The fight quickly clouded their minds to the point where the lady was forgotten, allowing her to make her escape.
Rosie raced to the edge of the island and began very carefully, very delicately hopping and stepping here and there. She moved as quickly as she dared, trying her level best to get out of sight before anyone could realize what she had done. The mist would conceal her once she was far enough away. And there was another island--smaller and more barren--that she could rest on.
The dragoness reached it faster than she had planned to before encountering the ugly monsters, so she took a moment to stop and collect herself. They hadn't even noticed she was heavy with a passenger. And that was a good thing. She rest her hands on her tummy and stroked the dome with care.
"Sorry for the rough patch there. I had to make a quick get away. Hope I didn't wake you up." she called down to her stomach.
A soft stretch came under her hands, but other than that there was no change. Dezzy had remained asleep in spite of the encounter. As she began walking again, a signal reached her thoughts from behind. The snake hissed loudly and coiled back in fear as one of the reptiles lunged at her. Rosie sidestepped and spun to face him as he landed face down in the grimy dirt.
"I'm hungry!" he bellowed as he clawed his way back up, "The chief and Grog killed each other! Now I'm in charge! And I'm gonna eat ya!"
The starved beast lunged again, forcing Rosie to dodge again. She wasn't able to move as quickly or as gracefully as she would have liked. She was going to get caught at this rate, and that would mean all sorts of bad things for both her and the fox in her belly.
"Okay! Okay! You've got me!" he cried, holding out her hands to hopefully get him to stop.
It worked better than expected. The beast relaxed his posture, looking confused.
"I do?" he asked with a puzzled tone.
"Yes! You've got me! And lucky you, I taste really good! But before you eat me, don't you want to do something else first?" Rosie waggled her eyebrows, gesturing to her figure.
"Somethin' else?" the hungry creature echoed, still confused.
"Yeah, you know... something else? What do you do with a beautiful woman? Something you can't do if you eat her first?" the dragoness stepped in closer to him, slowly draping her arms about his shoulders.
The thug's eyes widened as it finally dawned on him and he grinned a hideous, jagged-toothed grin.
"Ooooh! Somethin' else! Yeah! Yeah! Somethin' else!" he was like an excited puppy who had just learned how to talk.
"Good, because it would be a real shame if you missed out just because you were hungry. Now, close your eyes and pucker up." Rosie batted her eyes at the beast.
He nodded rapidly, letting his lust override his hunger. He closed his eyes as he was told and pursed his lips together in a disgusting display of expectation. Rosie grimaced and looked over her shoulder, gesturing with her head. Before the thug could open his eyes, not realizing he was being deceived, the snake at the end of Rosie's tail lunged, mouth open, hissing loudly.
A scream filled the serpent's throat as it consumed the ugly creature's head in one swift stroke. He tried to struggle, but found he couldn't do much to slow or stop his fate. In seconds, he was encased in flesh all the way down to his chest. Panic began to set in, making him drop his club. Rosie grimaced again, sticking her tongue out as her snake continued to swallow the monster. Lord he tasted terrible. If only she could get away with not having to share the experience of what her tail tasted.
There was nothing delicate or gentle about the operation. They both wanted it over as quickly as possible, both Rosie and the snake. A number of unpleasant, greedy gulps dragged the primitive reptile out of sight, taking only a few moments to leave him as nothing more than a large, struggling bulge in the green dragon's tail. She huffed and shuddered, making another noise of distaste.
"Blech!!" Rosie complained.
"That was awful!" the snake agreed, "Next time, you eat the disgusting monster that wants to eat us first!"
"Deal." the dragoness said.
The angry bulge slipped down her tail until it reached her backside. There, it began to disappear into her, pushing her stomach out further than it already was. She moaned and leaned back as her tummy grew far too heavy for her to contend with normally. She squeezed and kneaded at the exposed bulge once the primitive creature was sealed away properly.
"Sorry for the rude neighbor, Dezzy. He's just there temporarily. At least you don't have to share a room with him." Rosie cooed to her wobbling gut.
She slumped down into a seated position, moaning as her impromptu meal continued to upset her stomach. She hated doing that, but there hadn't been any alternative she could think of so quickly. It was a good thing the 'tribe' had been so stupid.
When the green dragoness had done away with the unruly creature, she checked her tummy to see if Dezzy had been disturbed at all. Thankfully, he had not. She climbed back to her feet and resumed her trip across the bog. The island she had encountered the reptilian fools on was something of a halfway point, much to her great relief. The rest of the trip through the awful, rotten, feted swamp passed without incident. She reached the far end just as nightfall arrived.
She grumbled as she came to accept that she would have to wait until morning to bathe. At least her passenger couldn't smell her at the moment.
The rest of the trip passed without any remarkable occurrence to trouble either the dragoness or her vulpine ward. She reached Portsmount in the three days she had expected it to take and headed straight for the guild hall. With a little effort, she gently woke Dezzy and helped him up and out.
He didn't seem to mind the act of climbing out as much as he had going in. And going in hadn't been that bad, now that he had a chance to reflect on it. The vulpine's head emerged from the lady's open jaws and a pair of hands reached in to help lift him the rest of the way out. He was covered in drool and needed to clean up, but as promised, he was no worse for the wear. It had been a remarkably relaxing trip for him.
"Wow, that was... something! I don't think I've ever had a better sleep. I hope I wasn't too much trouble." Dezzy smiled up at the dragoness. He couldn't help but feel strangely drawn to her. She had a maternal quality about her that he had enjoyed so far.
"Oh you weren't any trouble, honey. There was a little snag on the way through the bog, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle." Rosie smiled down at the fox, tugging him in close for a warm hug. She wrapped him up in a towel to help keep him from shivering as he dried off.
"There was?" he asked, a little concerned.
Rosie spent the next half hour regaling her passenger with the tale of her trip. The incident with the reptilian thugs left the young fellow with wide eyes as he leaned in from the suspense. He apologized heartily to her for having to put up with such a thing, but she waved it off. She explained it wasn't the first time, nor would it likely be the last. Payment was made and the two went their separate ways, which was to the market for Dezzy and to the nearest tavern for Rosie. She and her snake were going to get a proper meal this time.
A couple of weeks passed and Rosie found herself back in the guild hall, waiting for someone who needed to be taken across the bog again. That was her specialty in spite of going wherever the work might take her. She reclined at a table similar to the one the bull from before her recent trip had been using, reading over the town's newsletter. There was mention of Kentaro the lynel being awarded honors for his work in starting up and stabilizing the new route. She grinned to herself and made a mental note to go meet him. He sounded interesting.
"Hey Rosie!" called a familiar voice.
The dragoness turned to see Dezzy smiling up at her, his bushy tail swishing behind him happily.
"Hey there! What brings you by?" she returned his smile.
"Well... I was hoping you'd be here. Would it be possible to hire you to take me somewhere?" he asked
"Need to get back across the bog?" Rosie turned as she put the newsletter down.
"No, I was thinking somewhere else. You said you'd take me wherever I needed to, right?" Dezzy stepped a little closer, hopeful she might say yes.
The dragoness just smiled and pulled the fox into her lap, resting his cheek against her chest as she gave him a little kiss on his forehead.
"You got it. Just say the word and my tummy's yours for the filling."
Traffic across the bog was usually rather slow. Most preferred the long route, usually because of the stops along the way. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to be kept on retainer for this cute little guy. He was just starting to get into the experience after all.
