Chapter 2

Kiyo and Sakura were walking for a few minutes in silence until Kiyo finally decided to speak up first. "So where are you from" he asked politely.Sakura didn't feel too comfortable answering his question but knew if he was to be her friend he would need to know. "I'm from Eclipse a city on the border of Canada and Alaska." "Its populated husky and wolf furs which is why you probably have not heard it," she said answering most of his questions at once. She could feel pain, sorrow, and anger building up at the thought of her hometown. Kiyo could sense her grief and could tell that she was holding in a lot of pain. "Are you okay?" he asked. Sakura stopped dead in her tracks and looked at him straight in the eyes. "No" she said with a slight growl. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"No" she said again clenching her fists.

"You might feel better if you do" Kiyo said calmly taking step back incase she decide take a swing at him.

"Why do you even care?" she said with a snarl. "Because I don't like seeing my friends in pain." he shot back. Sakura's eyes narrowed as looked straight into his.

"Do you really want to know?" She said in a serious tone. Kiyo nodded as sat down on a near by log. "I'm all ears," he said giving her his full attention.

(Flash back)

"Congratulations on your newborn daughter Lord Ken and Lady Marin I'm sure Julie will be very happy to have a little sister," the nurse said as the two alphas left the hospital. It did not take them long to get home. "What should we name her?" Marin asked. "We should name her Sakura because her eyes are cherry blossom pink." Ken answered. "I also thin she should was sun glasses out doors". "But she isn't albino".

"True but it wouldn't look good on us if the pack found out that our daughter had a genetic mutation. We are the alphas the leaders of the whole pack. If the others found out about her eyes our image and reputation would be ruined." Ken said. Marin agreed.

(Sakura's point of view

Sakura relaxed a little and took a deep breath started to tell him her life story.

"Growing up I was never popular the other kids never did not want anything to do with me.

They always teased because of my looks. The adults would always compare me to my sister Julie. Julie was the town beauty queen. Males would drool over her. She was the family favorite too. She was the best in her class. The only way you could tell she was part wolf was if was if you looked at her yellow eyes. She always would look down on me like she was superior and, as far my parents were concerned she was. When I turned sixteen, I met this male husky named Kane and soon we were dating. I loved him with all my heart and I thought we would be together forever but I was wrong. On the night of our three-month anniversary, he asked I would take off my sunglasses. I did not want to at first but I trusted him so I did. When he saw my eyes, he called me a freak of nature and said I should be in a science lab. When I got home that night, I went straight to my room and cried myself to sleep. The next day my mother sent me to get some books from her friend's house. That friend also happened to be Kane's mother. She must have known I was coming over because she left the books on her porch. While I was heading home, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I could not believe what I saw Julie and Kane were together kissing. Julie spotted me and walked over." When I ask for an explanation, she just told he did not want to be with a freak and that I should just go home and die. I punched Julie right in her muzzle and knocked her flat on her tail. She got up and tried to hit me but I blocked the punch and punched her in the head knocking her out instantly. I saw Kane looking at me with a terrified look thinking he might be next. He told me I was a demon and no canine fur should be that strong. I looked at Julie who was still unconscious and saw blood coming from mouth and notice that the side of her head was also bleeding. At that point, I did not care at that point. When I got home that night, my mom told me that Julie was getting stitches in her head and when she came home, I had to apologize. When she did come home, I simply growled and went to my room. Julie and I hated each other after that. I could not stand how parents acted around her. It was as if I was trash in their eyes. One night Julie and I had an argument. She hit me in my muzzle and gave me a black eye. The other furs said it was an improvement. Julie moved out and went to collage to become a doctor three years later. I have not herd from her since. My father set me up with a male wolf from a nearby pack. He told me I had to honor the family and bear this male's pups. I knew this male had reputation for abusing his females and was not about become another toy for him to play with as he saw fit. When I refused him, my father told me that I should never have been born. Three days later, he had me enslaved to a human in order to pay off some credit card debts and as they putting me in chains my mother just stood there shaking her head in disappointment. The last thing I herd her say to me was "Why couldn't you be more like Julie?" My owner beat me daily and even had me fixed. When he final got tired of me cast me out on the streets fend for me. I traveled across the country doing odd jobs here and there until I came here where I found an abandoned house to sleep in."

(End of Flash back)

"Now you know why I don't like talking about my past," Sakura said as she started to cry.

Kiyo could believe what he just heard he knew many slave furs were mistreated their owners but this was beyond cruel it was just evil. Now it all made since why she did not trust him at first and why she does not like talking about her past. Others have judged her whole life and used her as a political tool. He felt terrible for even asking and was about to apologize when she beat him to it. "I'm sorry for getting angry at you," she said looking away. "You have nothing to be sorry about it is my fault asking" Kiyo said looking down in shame. "You were right though I do feel better now that I've talked about it so doesn't be sorry Master Kiyo." She said with a toothy grin

Kiyo looked at her confused. Sakura decided to explain the canine code of honor to him.

When he finally understood he was shocked. "You can live with me on one condition". He said.

"Name it" She said.

"You are free to do as you please and leave whenever you want". He said

"Deal" She said with smile and tail started wagging very fast as they started to walk back to the cabin. Kiyo knew his life would never be the same from that moment on.
