The Kanto Challenge: Chapter 1
The following contains some M/solo pokepr0nz. This is the first chapter in a new story that I'm working on currently. I'm going to try and get the chapters finished as soon as I can, but with undergoing my last semester in college, it'll be difficult to keep the writing up. Regardless, I'll try to have subsequent chapters up hopefully not months apart.
If you're played Pokemon Gold/Silver, then you know that you can get 16 badges in the game, and so this story starts in the middle of Gold/Silver after this new trainer has gotten 8 badges in the Johto Region. I've taken some liberties with the story just for fluidity's sake, so if something's out of line, it's most likely that, but feel free to point it out if it's bothering you and I'll explain myself.
Anyway, enough description from me; enjoy and leave feedback if you can =)
"Dragonite is unable to battle. The victory goes to Luna."
Those words played over and over in her head every day. She couldn't believe it when it happened, but once those two glorious sentences were uttered, the realization that all of her hard work had finally paid off hit her. It had been a tough battle; in fact, it was the closest battle she had ever had that she actually won. Both she and Lance used all six of their pokemon, and it was the quintessential example of a climactic ending where both pokemon struggled with all their might to stay conscious, until finally one of them fell; and to Luna's euphoria, Lance's Dragonite was the one who fainted, leaving only her Meganium standing.
Shortly after the call from the official was made, her Meganium's legs gave out and she collapsed onto the ground in exhaustion. The rest of that day was a blur, but she remembered bits and pieces of it. She remembered running forward and hugging her Meganium before returning her to her pokeball. She remembered Lance congratulating her. She remembered seeing her name and her dream team entered into the computer system, forever to be preserved as a mark of their accomplishment in the Hall of Fame.
She was greeted by Professor Elm in the Hall of Fame who escorted her back to her home in Newbark Town. He had relayed the wonderful news to Professor Oak that Luna had successfully beaten the Johto champion. Professor Oak was so thrilled to hear about her success, that he personally offered to take her back to his laboratory in Pallet Town and let her partake in the Kanto Challenge. She had never been to the Kanto region before, so she was excited to see more of the world and to beat this new challenge.
Everything in the few days following her victory over Lance went by so quickly. She saw her mom for a day and got a chance to relax before Professor Oak showed up. He spent the day in Newbark Town talking with her and Professor Elm and catching up on old times with his research partner. The next day, she and Professor Oak left, and before she knew it, they had arrived at his lab in the unfamiliar town.
"So, what do you think of the place?" Professor Oak said as they stepped through the doors of his research facility.
The laboratory was very similar to Professor Elm's: all kinds of machinery that she never thought she would ever know what purpose they served, a few small pokemon walking around, and the table that housed the three starter pokemon for new trainers. It took a second for the question to register in her head due to her looking around at all the similarities, but it still amazed her that they had access to all of this equipment and could research pokemon in whatever way they needed to.
"Umm... It's very nice. It reminds me of home."
"Ah, yes, I can see how it would. Alright, now let me explain the Kanto Challenge. Be warned though, no one has ever completed it."
She smirked in confidence from her recent success and responded, "I think I can handle it. What do I have to do?"
"Be careful. It's good to have confidence, but overconfidence will surely be your downfall."
"I'll keep that in mind, so what's the challenge?"
He couldn't keep from smiling broadly at her. The last two trainers he had sent off had become the two most legendary trainers in all of Kanto, and both of them possessed the same poise that she was showing. The image of seeing those two trainers leaving for the first time ten years ago was one that he'll never forget, and he was thrilled to witness a similar event again. He shook his mind clear of the past, and answered her question.
"The Kanto Challenge is very similar to the one you successfully completed in Johto. You must obtain eight gym badges from across the region, and then you must defeat the Kanto champion."
"That doesn't sound too hard. When can I start?"
"Patience. There are still some rules. There are many gyms in Kanto, but in order to face the champion, you must obtain eight specific badges and in a specific order. These badges are the same badges that he obtained when he was first starting out as a trainer. Once you get these badges, you must proceed to Mount Silver. There are many powerful pokemon and trainers in there, so be cautious. Once you reach the summit, there you will meet the Kanto champion.
"He will take your eight badges as a sign that you wish to challenge him. He will then face you in a six on six battle. If you beat him, you will be victorious. However, there is a catch. If you face him and lose, you can't battle him again without going back and getting all eight of the same gym badges again. Because of this, almost every trainer who has lost to him, has given up entirely.
"The Kanto Challenge started seven years ago after the a trainer (much like yourself) defeated the Elite 4 here along with the previous champion. He spent the next couple of years traveling around to the other regions, battling as many different trainers as he could, ever increasing the strength of his pokemon and his battling intelligence.
"After his travels, he came back here and decided to issue a region-wide challenge to anyone. He laid down the rules much like I've said to you, and he holed himself up in Mount Silver awaiting anyone who was daring enough to try it. As I've said, the challenge has been going for seven years, and no one (including the best trainers from Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, you name it) has ever been successful."
She grew more excited with every word he said. Her whole body tingled just from the thought of completing something that's never been done before. "So when can I start?" she asked happily.
Professor Oak smiled again. He loved to see her eagerness to begin, and now that he had stated all of the rules, he was almost ready to send her on her way.
"I like the enthusiasm. I'm sure you will not give up until you've completed the task ahead. You have the same determination that the champion had when I gave him his first pokemon."
She was caught off guard by that last statement a bit and responded, "Wait... You mean you gave him his first pokemon?"
"Oh yes. That was ten long years ago."
"What was his name?"
"I'll keep that a secret... at least for now. But, I will say that if you manage to collect the eight badges and face him, then you will have faced the two most famous (and strongest) trainers in all of Kanto. The two of them both started from this very room on the same day so long ago."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small book and a red electronic device and handed the two items to her before continuing, "This is an upgraded pokedex for you since yours is specific for the Johto region. It's used the same way as your other one, so don't worry about having to figure it out. And that book tells you where you need to go along with some information about each of the eight gym leaders you'll have to face."
She accepted the two gifts graciously, and immediately began thumbing through the book.
As she read its contents, she saw that it listed the eight cities along with the gym leaders. It had details on each of them, places to eat inside each of the cities, and a full map of Kanto with a suggested route to take. On the last page was a map of Mount Silver and exactly where to go to find the champion.
Professor Oak spoke again, "Well, as you might have seen, your first gym leader to face is Brock in Pewter City. If you leave now, I'm sure you can get there before the end of the day. Good luck!"
She closed the booklet, nodded to him, and turned toward the exit. She pocketed the two items, and began walking outside.
"Thanks Professor. I'll keep you updated."
"Can't wait to hear from you. Take care."
"Thanks again. Bye!"
And with that, Luna left for Pewter City, starting her new journey. She was a unique trainer. Most trainers keep their pokemon in their pokeballs most of the time. She, however, preferred to have all of her pokemon out in the open. She had left Newbark Town by herself when she started her Johto journey, and she had always let her Chikorita walk with her just to keep her company. As she traveled and caught more pokemon, she just got in the habit of keeping all of them out of their pokeballs when she was alone. She hadn't had them out since her victory over Lance, so almost immediately after she had left the lab, even before she left Pallet Town, she reached for her belt and released her six pokemon.
In the flash of lights from the pokeballs, appeared her victorious team: Houndoom, Raichu, Skarmory, Vaporeon, Scyther, and her strongest and first pokemon, Meganium. She had never really shown them her appreciation after they won, so she hugged all of them, telling them how proud she was of the hard work they put in, and they returned her affection as best they could.
After they were ready, the group of seven headed off toward Pewter City for their first battle. She knew from the map and from what Professor Oak had said that they could arrive in Pewter City before the end of the day. But even though she was eager, she had had enough excitement recently, and she hadn't gotten to spend the time she wanted to with her pokemon, so she walked slowly, relishing their company, and they hers. She talked to them the entire time, and even though she couldn't understand them, she listened to what they had to say to her and to each other with open ears. She wished that she could understand the pokemon language, but she was content just knowing that they were able to understand her.
Before she knew it however, night had fallen and they were still in the middle of Route 1 (at least according to the map she had). Not only did she leave her pokemon out of their pokeballs whenever she was alone, but she also let them sleep outside. It made her feel safer each night knowing that she wasn't sleeping by herself, and she knew that they enjoyed not being cooped up.
All of them had their own personalities as to be expected, and although they enjoyed spending all of their outside time with her, they would often take advantage of the nights to chat with each other and wander around. This night was no different from the others, and as soon as they were certain that Luna was asleep, the six quietly tiptoed away so that they could talk without waking her up. Not that she would be able to understand what they were saying, but they still were courteous enough to let her rest.
Once the group was out of earshot, the Vaporeon spoke up.
"So tell us about the end of the fight Carina."
The Raichu commented as well, "Yeah, we wanna know what happened."
"Well," the Meganium started proudly, "it was a tough fight. I honestly don't know how I won because that Dragonite was strong, and he knew a lot of attacks that I didn't even know existed."
"Eh, you probably wouldn't have been able to beat him if I didn't weaken him first." The Houndoom said bluntly.
The vaporeon countered, "Oh come on Sirius. We know you're strong, but even though you're a fire type, you still have trouble besting Carina."
Sirius retorted, "And you have trouble beating me Titan. Type advantage isn't everything and you know that. I managed to knock out a Tyranitar and an Aerodactyl before I got to Dragonite. But that Dragonite was strong... stronger than any pokemon I've ever seen, and I don't doubt Carina's skills, because they're impressive, but, no offense Carina, even she isn't powerful enough to take that Dragonite down on her own."
Carina said, "Thanks for the compliment Sirius, and I agree that I would have been destroyed if you hadn't been in there first. Hey Gamma, how'd you do?"
The Raichu answered, "I didn't do too well actually... I had to go against the stupid Tyranitar that Sirius had to finish off for me apparently."
Titan commented, "Ouch... why'd Luna send you out to face a Tyranitar?"
The Scyther who was normally the silent type spoke up, "I guess that's my doing. I had to face a Gyrados after a Kingdra, and I knocked him out, but not after taking some heavy damage, so I passed out after I saw him fall down. I guess Luna had to choose someone to send out and she just chose poorly. Not her fault."
Gamma said back, "Yeah... I guess you're right Comet. Hey Cygnus, you're pretty quiet over there."
The Skarmory who had hung off to the side with his eyes closed, merely listening to the conversation before him, raised his head up and stared at the group. He was the newest addition to the group, and was still getting used to his new diverse collection of friends. He knew he was the weakest member of Luna's party (which slightly irritated him, but it was just because of a lack of experience under a trainer that the others had). He thought it was slightly ironic considering he was by far the largest pokemon of the six, but even Gamma did better in battles than he did.
He didn't know why - maybe Luna was just trying to give him more experience - but he always seemed to be the first one that she sent out in battles, and he didn't have the best record with his matches. The group knew that he probably didn't do well, but they were trying to get him to at least talk to them more. He was quieter than Comet was (which was saying something), and they were trying to break him out of his shell.
He shrugged his shoulders at Gamma and then tilted his head back down toward the grass. Normally the group would just ignore him when he answered passively like that, but they were determined to eliminate some of his introversion tonight.
Gamma pushed further, "Well, how'd you do in the last match?"
Cygnus raised his eyebrow and muttered quietly, "I lost."
Desperate to keep him talking, Gamma continued, "Who'd you lose to?"
"A Charizard."
Titan answered, "Oh, I faced him first before I had to go against the Kingdra. You must have weakened him considerably, because I knocked him out with just one attack, and there's no way that he was that weak from the get go, even with the type advantage."
"I still lost. If it had been a one on one, Luna would have lost the match."
Gamma tried to make him feel better, "Hey, I lost too. We're a team, and we all won that match together."
"I guess. Anyway, I'm going to sleep."
With that, Cygnus turned his back on the group and went back to where Luna was asleep. The remaining team said their collective good nights and waited until he was out of sight before continuing their conversation.
Sirius said, "What's his deal?"
Comet replied, "He's just quiet like I am, and he's still new. Just give him time and he'll warm up to us."
Carina said, "I hope so. He seems nice, and I think if he just gets more confidence, then he'll open up."
Titan yawned before adding, "Yeah... I hope so. But he did have a good idea. I think it's time that I went to sleep as well."
The rest agreed and they went back. They arrived to the sound of Luna and Cygnus snoring fairly loudly. As they got closer, Titan whispered, "How in the hell did he fall asleep so fast? And why is he always the last one up in the morning? He always goes to sleep before we do."
The others shrugged their shoulders and gathered around, getting comfortable in the plush grass before drifting off to sleep themselves. As they fell asleep one by one, Cygnus cracked an eye open to survey them. He actually enjoyed the group's company immensely, even if he didn't outwardly show it. He still enjoyed his alone time, which he could only get now after everyone else had fallen asleep. So every night since he had been captured (at least when Luna let them out of their pokeballs), he feigned sleep until he was absolutely certain that the others were passed out.
He would then sneak off to have his alone time, and Arceus knows that he loved every second of it. He was too shy to ever openly ask someone else on the team to experiment with him, but that didn't stop him from enjoying himself whenever he could. He tiptoed away from the snoring bunch until he was certain that he was well out of earshot. Once he was far enough away, he let his legs relax and sat down as best he could. Being the flying type he was, this was not something that his body was made for, and he definitely had to make due with what he had in order to enjoy himself.
Due to the position of his wings, he didn't have the luxury of other pokemon when they needed to take care of their primal urges. Instead, he had to divine his own way to cope with the sensations that built up on a regular basis in his body.
He let the underside of his nether region touch the plush ground, and he let his genital slit be tickled by the tips of the blades of grass. Almost immediately, he sighed in contentment as he felt a surge of momentary pleasure course through his lower body. In no time, he could feel his member growing inside of him, and he knew it would only be a matter of seconds before he was fully aroused.
He shifted his lower body in a circular manner, making sure to keep constant contact between the ground and his slit. As he continued his movements, the end of his cock poked out of his body, and he shuddered as its sensitive tip was directly stimulated by the foliage. He shifted gears and began rocking his hips back and forth across the ground, leaning forward slightly to increase the friction that he loved.
It didn't take long before his cock was extended as far as it would go, and he also knew from experience that he would not be able to finish by his current movements alone. After he had humped the ground for a little longer, he stopped and leaned his body back a bit. His member stood proudly erect and was as hard as steel as it desperately longed for more stimulation.
Although he was cursed with having wings that he couldn't use in this manner, he was blessed with having a very long and quite flexible neck. He leaned his head down, and easily brought the front of his silver, beak-like mouth to the end of his member. He brushed against the tip of it with his nose, taking in his wonderful aroma of arousal. When he had a nice deep breath of his intoxicating scent, he opened his maw and lowered his head onto his needy member.
As he closed his mouth gently over his flesh, the stimulation made him moan quietly. His moaning only added to his pleasure as his entire member buzzed with the vibrations of his voice. He wished that he could just stay that way forever, enjoying the gentle trembling that coursed though his nether region, which sent his body into an ocean of euphoria. However, he knew that his feral needs would get the better of him the longer he kept up the stimulation, and eventually he would lose control of himself as his body cascaded down a waterfall of urges.
He turned his moan into a low hum, and slowly began moving his head up and down the length of his shaft. From his first movements, he felt a small twitch of approval from his cock, releasing a small amount of pre into his mouth which he lapped up quickly. He had grown to love the taste of his natural lubricant the more he pleasured himself in this manner. When he had first done it, the taste had actually been so foreign to him that he was almost turned off by it. It wasn't necessarily that it was a bad taste, because now he relished every drop of it, but it was just so weird to think about what he was actually tasting.
Now, however, he was swirling the sticky fluid all around the inside of his mouth, almost desperate to taste every bit of flavor contained his the glorious substance. When he was satisfied, he lightly swallowed, and continued work on his now twitching shaft. He slurped up the steady flow of pre, and he increased his pace as he started to lose complete control of his body. His hips began thrusting the little bit that they could, and his tongue danced over every bit of his flesh, coaxing him toward his climax.
Within no time, he felt the familiar sensations slowly overcome his body as his groin prepared for his inevitable release. He had grown to love the taste of his pre, but he was still hesitant about tasting his cum. He wasn't exactly sure why, but whenever he was getting close to finishing, he would tell himself that tonight would be the night that he would lap up his seed as eagerly as his pre, but whenever he reached the point of no return, he always chickened out at the last second.
Tonight was no different; he sporadically bobbed his head up and down his length until he felt his seed flow into the base of his cock. He used his jaw muscles to give his member one final squeeze before he lifted his neck and released his member from his maw. His whole body shuddered and his cock tensed up in the open air before it pulsed strongly, releasing his seed onto the ground in front of him.
His cock spasms sent shivers of bliss throughout his body, and he moaned in satisfaction as his cum rocketed out of the tip of his member, arching through the air and dampening the blades of grass. He began panting lightly as his orgasm finished and the last bits of seed spurted out before him. He smiled in contentment as his member slowly began shrinking back into his body.
As his cock disappeared inside of him, he sat for a while merely enjoying his body's post climactic relaxation. Before he got too tired though and risk falling asleep away from the group, he stood up and slowly and quietly walked back to where Luna and the others were. He found the group exactly where they had been, and he took his spot from earlier and got comfortable.
When he was happy with his position, he glanced around at the sleeping group one last time. He knew in the back of his head that they meant well, but at the same time, he missed his old life. He used to be free to do what he wanted, he didn't have to sneak off like a thief whenever his bodily urges called to him, and he wasn't constantly forced to fight when he didn't want to.
But whether he liked it or not, that life was gone, and he would have to get used to this one. Who knows? Maybe one day he would grow to like it better than his old life, but at the moment, he just wanted to be left alone so that he could think. He stopped his wandering eyes on Luna one last time before he sighed heavily and closed his eyes, trying to get some rest himself. Tomorrow will be better... That's what he told himself every night, and it was the only way that he could keep a positive attitude, even if he appeared to be negative to everyone else.
Sleep descended fairly rapidly on him due to his post coital exhaustion, and in no time, he was snoring along with the others. Everyone in the group seemed to have a partner to sleep with each night except for Cygnus: Comet was lying on his back, resting his head on Sirius's side, Gamma had curled her body up next to Titan whose tail was draped over the sleeping mouse's body, and Carina lay huddled up close to Luna whose arm was lightly draped over the side of her first pokemon. As the moon slowly made its nightly path across the darkened sky, it moved below the trees, casting a peaceful, moonlit shadow over them as a plethora of dreams danced within their heads as their bodies prepared for the upcoming day.
