Chapter 3. Choice
Choice. . .
"W-Wait. How can you be me when your there. And I'm here?" I questioned.
"That. . . Is for you to figure out." The man stated.
"Alright then can you tell me this? You said that the dream I had was a supposed memory. How long ago was this so called memory?" I asked, hoping to get a straight answer this time.
"Now that," he started, "I can answer. That memory was just about 18 years ago."
"You're kidding me. But I'm 17 now. So you're telling me that all that happened before I was born. And that THAT was me?" I asked confused.
"Indeed it was." He said calmly.
"Hold on. I was just noticing how you looked exactly like that one guy in my dre-, memory. Apparently that guy in my memory could control the wind. . . Hold up. If you're me. And at the same time that guy from my memory. . . Than that means. . ." I trailed off. I was just about to ask another question to him when someone came walking through the door.
"Hey I see that you're finally awake. Feeling better?"
I just stared at her as she talked to me. "You look just like someone that I saw in my dream. Well actually I was told that it was a memory. You're Aky." She looked just like she did in my memory. A wolf with pure silver coated fur and pure white wings because it was dark out.
"Well you are correct with my name," she started, "but who is this that you're talking about that told you that your dream was a memory?"
"Oh, it was hi-," I turned and went to point at the man that I had been talking to the entire time, only to find out that he wasn't there. "Where did he go?"
"Marc. You were the only one in here the entire time. No one else came in, or out of this room since you've been out." She said to me in a soothing manner to help calm me down.
"But I could have sworn. . ." I started to say but stopped. I thought about what the man had said. "That wasn't a dream. That was a memory." Or something like that. But still, if that was a memory. And I was that tiger guy. How am I here now like I am? And why am I not still like I was. And to top it all off, why don't I remember any of this! Aky noticed that I was stressing out over all of this.
"It's ok Marc. I may not know why you got changed into a human. Or why you lost your memories. But I do know how to change you back, but as for your memories. . . That's all on you to get those back." She told me.
"You know how to change me back?" I asked in a surprised tone. "How!?"
"Easy," she started to say, "like this." And with that she flicked my head and I fell backwards. Only, I didn't stop falling like you would think. I mean, I was on a bed, but I just kept falling, and falling, and falling. Like a never ending pit.
I shut my eyes as tightly as I could and when I opened them, I was standing in a place where there was just white in every direction. Every direction was filled with white as far as you could see except directly in front of me. Right in front of me stood two doors. I walked behind them and noticed that all they were were just a door with the frame around it. The only placed they led to was to the more open space of the whiteness. What the hell is this place? I thought to myself.
"What or where this place does not matter." A man said. "What does matter though, is that you chose the right door to go through."
"Hey," I started, "you're that guy from earlier that was in my room."
"Again, I am you. So where ever you are I will be there too." He responded.
"Right, right. So what am I doing here anyways?"
"You are here to pick which path you want to go through for your life."
"Huh?" I said confused.
"Basically," he started again, "which ever door you chose to go through, you will live the rest of your life out with that choice."
"Oh. Ok then. So then how do I know which door to go through?"
"Well, the door on my left," he said as he pointed to the door, "will take you back to your normal human life that you have lived for the past 17 years. You will never have to see me again, nor any of those memories that you've already seen. You'll go back to your normal life."
"Ok and the other door?" I asked almost ready to go through the other door anyways. There wasn't a chance I was gonna go back to my old life. I didn't have anything left in that life. I had already run from home to get away from my stupid father to try and make a better life for me anyways. Maybe the other door will be my way out.
"Well," he started once again, "this door on my right will lead you into the life of that memory that had. You will live out the life you originally started. The life of magic if you will."
"You're kidding me right? A life of magic?"
"Yes indeed. You remember your memory don't you? All of that happened. It's just that you don't remember because you were transformed into a human and had your memories erased. "So," he asked for his final question, "which door shall you chose?"
"Well that's simple. I'm going through the door that will lead to a more interesting life. My life as a human sucked. My dad was always drunk and beat me whenever I came home. I had already run away from home and didn't have anywhere to go anyways." I said all this as I walked the door filled with my new life of magic. The man stopped me though right as a reached it.
"Do remember, as soon as you go through one of these doors. There won't be any turning back. You'll be stuck there, forever."
"Good. I don't want to return to my old life." That was my final sentence as I stepped through the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm truly sorry that this story is fairly short and not to interesting but, I promise you that I will make it up to you in the next chapter. It's just that this chapter was extremely annoying. Anyways, enjoy.
