The Crew of the Star Ship "Sojourn"

This is my first attempts at writing and I know I need to put more detail into the descriptions especially when it comes to characters. The problem is I don't know how to do this to well yet and it makes me hesitate on doing the scenes that involve yiffing. Any feedback and helpful advice in this will help me a lot, just please don't be to harsh if you can help it.

Chapter 0. "Disaster Strikes Home"

Looking upon on the massive ship in the hanger going through its final upgrades and maintenance the young cheetah Marcus was only able to stare in aw with his mouth wide open. It had been a long road to travel in such a short time but he managed to earn the position of first mate aboard the to of the line cruiser the "Sojourn". As he walked toward the service hatch that would give him a direct path to the bridge so he could report for duty he paused to survey the various personel on site which were the intended crew. He still needed to go over half of the personal files and thus was only able to make out a small number of those he could still remember from file photos. One of those he spotted was the crew's cook, a beautiful young female rabbit with purest white fur he had ever seen but she seemed to radiate an aura of sadness that her smile could not hide. At this point he wondered what could be wrong but had no time to run 5 levels down to find out. To his surprised he found the captain of the sojourn waiting for him at the service hatch with the other members of the bridge team.

" Now that we have the last of the bridge crew we can introduce ourselves and get on board." Captain Mathews began "As you know I am Captain Mathews of the Sojourn and the new arrival is going to be my first mate, Marcus.".

The first to speak up was the skittish looking mouse maid "Hi, uh my name is Marian and I will be your nav systems officer.".

"Echo here though it doesn't really matter, I will be you com systems officer till I meet my demise." the bat that also appeared to be the oldest of the group declared.

All this did was get every one to stare at him with an odd assortment of facial expressions. After a few moments of silence gray furred squirrel responded with " Sir, Billy chief engineer reporting for duty sir.".

Next was the head helmsman Mara who introduced herself "Mara here, it is a pleasure to meet all of you.". Marcus immediately locked eyes with her and was unable to look away from the beautiful snake's deep blue eyes. Noticing this Mara quickly began to blush brightly and winked at him. This of course caused Marcus to blush equally as bright as Mara.

They were snapped back to attention when Mara's co-pilot began to speak "Sir, naval officer Tesarr here. I will be in the co-pilot's station.".

Last was a female wolf by the name of Terra who promptly introduced herself "Weapon's System officer Terra sir. It is an honor to meet all of you.".

Mathews then reported the status of the ship to the bridge crew and to the chief engineer and the arrival time of the rest of the crew. He also showed them to their quarters and the bridge stations.

While the crew in the bridge was reviewing their equipment Alice was slowly setting up the kitchen putting the check list down when she was done. She then began making an adjustment to her uniform when she pulled a picture out of her pocket and gazed deeply into it. The picture showed the last happy moment she had with her parents before the tragic attack that killed them. She was like this for five minutes before she was greeted by one of the security members she met on the way in. They seemed to be equally in hard times and spent a time talking with each other. Alice and Amy both swapped there reasons for being here and the story of that led to it though Amy was very uncomfortable about the saying the details. In the end she only elaborated on the horror she lived through. Replacing the picture in her pocket Alice said her good-byes and that she would see here at the quarters they apparently shared and went over her check list once more.

Suddenly the captain came on the intercom" The rest of the crew has just boarded so be prepared for lift off at 16:30.". Alice looked towards the clock which showed 16:20 on the display. With one last check she reported all clear and ready to go.

In his quarters Mathews was going over some schematics when an encrypted message was received on his com screen from high command under a priority line. As he read the new last minute additions to the crew his blood ran cold when he read the next passage. The swarm have breeched the front lines and a force of thirty ships would reach earth within the hour.

"Sir, we have some personal requesting to board. They are saying that they are part of the crew sir. What do you want me to do?" Marcus chimed.

Mathews responded quickly " Let them on board and switch us to code red status! This is not a drill son so just do it! I'll explain the details shortly!".

Upon this Marcus could only say "Sir, yes sir." and hit the alarm.

At this point Terra was the first to yell out "What the hell is going on?!? Why did you put us on red alert status?!?".

" I don't know ok! Ask the Captain when he gets here!" Marcus stressed.

Moments later captain Mathews arrived on the bridge yelling to the crew " Lift off right now and bring our shield and weapon systems on-line!" he then keyed the intercom and began to speak to the whole crew" This is captain Mathews here. The swarm are on there way to attack earth and the front line is all but destroyed. The enemy is about thirty ships total and we will be among the twenty-two ships that are serving as the planet's last line of defense.".

At this point Marian and Echo both reported at the same time an unusual energy signature and erratic com signals. "Holy Shit!" was all Marian could say before she was able to elaborate " Swarm class warp gates are opening up just above orbit at five different points around the planet!".

Echo finished her assessments with " Incoming missiles off the starboard side!!!"

They could only watch as the near by city disappeared from view and replaced by a burning ruin. No one said anything till Marian identified about thirty-seven swarm drop ships landing in the ruins of the once glorious city. The Sojourn quickly lifted of and fired a few salvos at the enemy drop ships effectively cutting the number in half before they reached high orbit. The surrounding space was utter chaos with star fighters of both sides fling around trying to shoot each other down. Captain Mathews noticed that something didn't look quit right about the current situation and ordered a full sensor sweep of the area. It was as he thought, the current combatants were not swarm class cruisers but the highly maneuverable chitin class battle frigates. The sensors were suddenly disrupted by a powerful energy spike just before a bright flash of light cut across the heavens. When they could see again half of the defense force burned away before there very eyes.

"Status report now!!!" cried Captain Mathews. Running through a quick check then Marian reported all clear as did Echo and Mara.

Terra though had more dire news " Something is wrong with the shield stability control and half the weapon systems have gone off-line!".

Billy was suddenly heard shouting over the com "What the furry fuck was that!!! A spatial energy burst has really strewed our energy out-put down here! If we take another hit like that and we won't last no more than three minutes tops!"

Echo didn't have anything better to report about the dog fight" Sir, over sixty-five percent of our fighters are no longer transmitting and have been conformed KIA! Sir, what do we do now.".

"Call back the remainder of the fighters before they are all killed and prepare to fire the main gun." Mathews said solemnly " And tell me of the status of the rest of our forces and how the ground forces are doing.".

Marian , Echo, and Terra went strait to work and the result caused Marian to start sobbing out loud. Echo responded for the poor girl who's brother he had known to be a pilot aboard the star ship Spitfire " Sir no other ships are left and our shields are almost at forty-five percent. The Spitfire sent a final transmission before it and the last of the crew were either killed or captured. The transmission is for Marian from her brother.".

At this she point the trauma was to much and she passed out. Marcus was quick to catch her and propped her against himself as he manned her station.

Echo them continued saying the rest of the report " The ground forces are all gone sir."

"Shit, incoming!!!" Terra yelled "The main gun is functioning at about half power but our shields are just about gone!!!". The ship rocked violently and Terra confirmed multiple impacts on multiple sectors across the ship.

"Sir, Mike here on deck 19b. Me and my team are inspecting the projectile, we are a short way from the mess hall and would like to get some back-up as soon....." his voice trailed off for a moment before there was a hissssss over the com. For a moment more there was no response, but then the sound of weapons fire and dieing crew men flooded the com "Holy shit, these things are boarding craft quick secure all levels around each of these bastards before ahhh....." the crew new Mike was no more.

"Get security at those locations on the double and arm yourselves! Terra target the projected course of the enemy's last attack and fire!" At this the captain gave Marcus the bridge and left to join the security teams on this level.

Down in the kitchen Amy was barricading the door way and reassuring Alice ,who was in the corner shivering, that every thing was going to be ok and that she would protect her. A sudden tapping noise caught Amy's attention and she raised her weapon point to the door. It was all too quiet for the next five minutes so she lowered her gun and turned around to go to Alice when the door exploded into the room with such force Amy was sent fling into the wall. Alice went to her friends side and tried to wake here up, Amy's blood starting to stain her white furred paws. Still sobbing heavily she turned to face the five insectoide creatures entering the room with what seemed to be some kind of bindings.

"Stay away from us! Go away!" Alice screamed hoping that something would happen to save them though that seemed really stupid to her she tried any way.

The elite troopers only looked at each other for a moment and began to advance to the two females. Yet something seemed off to Alice about the way they were moving and then she saw it. The swarmer in the rear of the group produced a set of deadly blades and was not looking at her or Amy, but rather the other swarmer troops. With a blinding flash of speed he decapitated the other four and turned to the door where he peered around the corner as if making sure the coast was clear. He quickly took a defensive stance in front of Alice and Amy, to her surprise, and with one of his four arms he handed Alice a small medical looking device. Needing no encouragement she attended to her friend when three more swarmer troops entered and engaged the one defending her. Amy began to come around but was startled by what she saw. The intense three on one fight was going for several minutes and in the end it was one on one. The two exchanged some words before the final blows was struck the defender stood victorious, but when the defender began to walk towards the two women he collapsed to the floor blood flowing from many wounds. Amy could never forget the swarmer that saved her aboard the Over-Run and seeing him here protecting her yet again.

Alice was helping Amy to her feet when Amy pleaded "Quick Alice, help me stop the bleeding!" next she yelled over the com " Amy here, I'm in the mess and I have a man down and in major need of medical attention!".

Rose, the chief medical officer was the first to respond to this. When she arrived with Adam and Camerun of the security team they just froze at what they saw. The mess hall was a mess with blood all over the floor and seven elite swarmer troops dead and Alice with Amy bending over the eighth swarmer that was alive but barely conscious. What surprised the three the most was that Amy and Alice were furiously trying to keep him from bleeding to death.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING!!!" screamed Adam, but the only answer he got was " He saved our lives, and killed those other swarmers himself!!!" Alice yelled back between sobs.

This response only confused the three more but Rose went to work " He has received multiply deep gashes all over his body, and has suffered major blood loss! Call Christie from the science division quickly, I am going to need her help to treat this thing!".

"Please explain to me why we should help him?" asked Cameron.

"He is the same swarmer that saved me when I was captured aboard the Over-Run, if you need more proof look at the security camera feed!" Amy snapped.

At the same time the mess hall was assaulted a major battle was raging in the engine room as the remainder of the elite swarmers tried to disable the engines. As captain Mathews was reloading his blaster he saw Billy take a hit and slump over. He was still alive thank goodness but he was out cold.

They were slowly losing ground and so Mathews reluctantly gave what he knew would be his final orders "Marcus, this is captain Mathews, I want you to engage the warp drive with an emergency random coordinate jump!" .

"But sir?!" Marcus began saying before he was cut off "Marcus you're the captain now so keep the crew alive." was the last words Mathew's spoke before he cut the com channel. "Captain......CAPTAIN MATHEWS!!!" Marcus was yelling has he tried to get the com back.

Mathews began giving commands to the crew to take the wounded out of engineering and to lock the emergency bulk heads behind them. While the others did this he ran to the emergency purge button and pressed it before any one could stop him. Tony, Billy's apprentice was the only one to see the captain and the thirteen swarm troops sucked into the vacuum of space through a security camera feed on the side of the closed bulkhead.

"It has been a week since I became the Captain of the Sojourn and to my regret I must report the fall of earth and that our current location is unknown. As well, we will also be mourning the loss of half of our crew that died in the fight with the swarm forces. Also I want a guard posted in the infirmary at all times, I'm not taking any chances with our guest, now back to your posts and lets find a safe planet to settle down for some supplies and R&R. Captain Marcus over and out." Marcus keyed off the com and went about the task of helping to restoring the weapon and shield grid systems with Terra.
