Out in the Meadow
Out in the meadow is where two lovers lay,
Looking up at the sky, watching the moon make its way. One stares into the infinite depths of the heavens above, while the other watches her love. Bright lights, like pixels on a display, the stars in a vast array. The moon shines down upon the field, fireflies lighting up their tails. The shadows of a wolf and cat fall down upon the field, few gaps between the two. The wolf looks over and kisses the cheek of the cat, then goes back to watching the heavens unfold. An innocent kiss, just a show of affection, yet like a heart felt confession. No words are needed to describe their love. Nothing more than the sight of those two. Just sitting and waiting, in each other's arms.

Dawn comes and the two lovers are still there. Heads lay together, so peaceful and benevolent, the actions of the two. As the sun is almost fully risen, the wolf soon awakens. He tilts his head away from his kitten, and stares forward up at the sky. His cat wakes up slowly, and stares along with him. The wolf continues to gaze into the sky, his face expressionless, ears perked forward. His eyes show longing of something invisible. He stares at the heavens, but nothings there. The freedom he searches for has disappeared. The freedom to spend the rest of time with his lover...
