Cindy's Truth
#1 of Truthverse
So, my darlings, it's been a minute since I brought my gallery here up to date. This story marked the beginning of the Truthverse. It was meant to be just a one off, but the client fell in love with it, and it snowballed into her offering me a full time job writing for her. Now I spend almost every Friday in the Truthverse, bringing my patron's dreams to life. This story will go down in my memory as one of my favorite things I ever wrote, not just for the content, but because it landed me financial security, an amazing boss, and a good friend.
Cindy stared at the doors to the school, heart pounding. People like her weren't supposed to do this, weren't supposed to want this, but she'd dreamed of it every night for years. When the first blush of puberty had washed over her, she'd gone wild masturbating as she'd imagined it over and over. She'd put it off, told herself that she would outgrow it, that it would go away if she just ignored it long enough.
But it hadn't. The urges, the need had only gotten stronger. She'd made her decision over the summer. She knew how she wanted it to happen, she'd dreamed of it often enough. And she only had a couple years left to live out this particular fantasy. So she was going to do it.
She was going to be prey.
Cindy stepped into the doors of the school, fighting to control her grin. The first day of school the cafeteria always had to put out multiple calls for prey to serve for lunch, since the prey had gotten out of the habit of thinking of themselves that way. So she knew that she would have no issues getting in. She marched through the hallways, her cunny tingling as she thought of how she would be ending the day inside her fellow students. She slipped up to her locker and stuffed her backpack into it after pulling out the books she would need for her first and second class. There wouldn't be a third.
"Cinds!"
She turned and grinned at her friend Bethany, the young wolfess trotting up to her with an answering smile. "Hey, Beth!"
Bethany bumped her hips against her friend's forehips. "First day, already can't wait for the last day."
Cindy laughed. "I will never understand why you hate school so much."
Bethany rolled her eyes. "Ugh. Says the captain of the spirit squad."
"Yes, and?"
Bethany cocked a hip. "And an apex predator."
Cindy shivered, her heart twisting. She couldn't help the accident of her birth that put a willing prey soul in a taur body, and she wasn't going to let it stop her.
"Y-Yeah, right." she grinned and shoved her friend gently. "Like you're not an apex pred yourself."
Bethany grinned and nodded, conceding the point.
"That's another thing to hate about school," she said, reaching into her pocket. She pulled out a little plastic card with her face and a bunch of information on it.
Cindy's eyes widened and she pulled her friend into a hug. "That's awesome! When did you get your hunting license?"
The wolfess giggled. "Two weeks ago. God, it's amazing, going down to the green district, and just...taking someone down, knowing they're ok with it. Eating right there. And now," she said with a slightly sour face, "the prey will be presented on a platter."
VIsions of her best friend tackling and eating her made her wet in all the right places, but she put them out of her mind. Bethany would never agree, and she had dreamed of being served to the whole school since first grade. "Nothing wrong with prey being served up like that. And it stops things like half the school being eaten on the first day."
Bethany grinned, wrinkling her muzzle. "You and your prey positivity."
Cindy blushed under her fur and opened her mouth to answer, when the bell rang. The two girls exchanged startled looks and ran their separate ways for class. Cindy grinned as she slid onto the bench at the back of the class room for taur students, her heart light. The next time she saw Bethany, she'd be skinned and served.
The first class passed in a haze of daydreams and staring around at her predator classmates, imagining them sinking their teeth into her, their claws ripping her apart. It would be a cafeteria worker slicing her apart, not teeth and claws, but it was a common fantasy, and she didn't exactly need to take notes.
The second class, though, went by agonizingly slowly. Her stomach was a knot of nerves as she questioned her decisions. She hadn't told anyone. No one would know if she back out. And she knew from years of cafeteria food that it was going to hurt. That scared her most of all. She wanted to enjoy the experience, not pass out from shock and wake up gagged and bound.
It seemed like an eternity before the bell rang, followed by the daily announcement.
"First call for cafeteria volunteers. First call for cafeteria volunteers."
She stepped out into the hallway, clutching her books to her chest. She could go to her next class. She could turn away from her fantasy, again. She was an apex predator, no one would ever eat her without her express consent. There was no pressure to go through with it. She could even just wait, come back to it another day.
But if she waited, prey would start to get back into the mindset of prey, and the cafeteria requirements would fill up. By the end of the week, there'd be no way to get to the cafeteria without someone noticing and questioning her, and she desperately wanted to do this fait accompli. And her loins clenched so hungrily as she thought of being on the cafeteria line with the other boys and girls feeding the school. She felt a smile stretch across her muzzle and knew: she wouldn't wait. She couldn't miss this chance.
She slipped through the crowded halls, relying on her predator nature to shield her from people wondering at the direction she was going. She knew the way, had walked prey friends to the door multiple times, even if there hadn't been helpful signs directing students to the kitchens. She made it into the back halls without anyone noticing and before the bell rang.
Cindy expected to be alone in the halls, but she turned a corner and saw a red headed rabbit girl stopped dead, staring at the kitchen doors, shaking slightly. She cursed inwardly, but then her school spirit kicked in and she plastered on a smile. She walked up next to her and put a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Hey, you ok?"
The girl jumped and looked up at her in shock. "Y-You're Cindy Lawson," she said softly.
The foxtaur smiled and nodded, rubbing gentle circles on the girl's back. "Yeah, I am. I'm sorry, I don't-"
"Rebecca," the girl said softly. "Not that it matters."
Cindy frowned. "Why wouldn't it matter?"
Rebecca nodded jerkily at the cafeteria doors. "Because I'm about to be eaten."
"That doesn't mean you're not a person, worthy of respect," Cindy said. Rebecca snorted and Cindy frowned harder. "Hey! You're making a noble, genuine, and beautiful sacrifice for your fellow students."
Rebecca's mouth twisted. "Easy for you to say, you don't have to make the sacrifice."
Cindy let that pass for the moment. "Neither do you. It's completely voluntary."
The rabbit sighed. "There's thirty of us kids. Mom and Dad are moving the whole family to temporary housing in a green district until that number comes down."
Cindy nodded slowly. "And you don't want to be hunted."
Rebecca shook her head, shivering. "No, I don't."
Cindy sighed and put her arm around the girl's shoulder. "So...this is your preference, then."
Rebecca nodded shakily. "Yeah. I just can't actually, you know, walk the last few steps."
Cindy gave her a gentle squeeze. "Come on, we'll do it together."
Rebecca nodded. Cindy started forward, her arm around the other girl's shoulder's guiding her forward. Rebecca's first couple of steps were faltering, but she steadied out as they came to the door. Cindy opened the door and they stepped in together.
Ms. Grundy, the pretty ocelot cafeteria head, smiled at Cindy brilliantly. "Always good to see you helping out another student, Cindy. Who's your friend?"
Cindy grinned and gave the rabbit a gentle squeeze, rubbing her arm. "This is Rebecca."
Rebecca raised a hand in a half wave.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Rebecca," Ms. Grundy said, stepping forward and shaking the rabbit's hand. She reached up and hugged Cindy warmly. "Now, I'll give you a note for helping another student, but you'd best get back to class, Ms. Lawson."
Cindy took a deep breath. "Not today, Ms. Grundy."
There was a long moment of silence and Ms. Grundy stepped back, hands on her shoulders, looking into her eyes. "Really."
The foxtaur gave her a small, nervous smile. "Yeah," she whispered.
Rebecca stared at her uncomprehendingly. "You...what?"
Ms. Grundy rubbed her shoulders slowly. "Are you sure?"
Cindy laughed softly. "No. I'm scared to death. Of the pain, of the finality. But..." she shivered and smiled. "But I've dreamed of this all my life. And this specifically, since I started school. Everytime I walked someone back here, I wanted to stay, to tell you to serve me too. I'm not sure, but...I want this more than I've ever wanted anything. So I'm here. And I'm not leaving in one piece."
Rebecca gaped at her. "You're...you're a taur..."
Cindy shrugged helplessly. "I know. Doesn't change the fact that I want this."
Ms. Grundy smiled softly. "You wouldn't be the first pred kid that wants to be prey. First taur I've served, though. Everyone's going to want a taste of you."
Cindy's heart leapt into her throat. "Then you'll do it?"
Ms. Grundy laughed. "Cindy, I have 250 hungry predators to feed. I'm not going to turn away anyone that volunteers. Of course I'll do it. You know the process?"
Cindy shivered and nodded. Her books went into a box to be distributed to needy students. She signed a waiver, releasing the contents of her locker to her family. She pulled off her shirt, dropping it into the recycling bin, followed by her bra. The last thing on her, she fingered, a necklace. She stared at it, throat heavy. It had helped her through a lot and no-one in her family would want it.
Rebecca stepped up beside her, dropping her own clothes into the bin. "What's that?"
Cindy lifted it over her head and held it out for the other girl to see. It was a pendant, a red heart with a bite taken out of it. Rebecca stared at it in shock. "You...you wear a Prey League pendant?"
Cindy nodded, fingering it with a small smile. "Since I was nine years old. To remind myself of who I really was."
Rebecca licked her lips. "You...you really believe all that. The noble sacrifice."
Cindy laughed softly. "I mean, yeah? I really do. But if I'm honest, and there's no time like the present, it gets me off, too."
"Wow," the rabbit girl whispered. "You...you're really prey, all the way through. Hardcore prey, even."
The foxtaur smiled and gave her a squeeze. "Wouldn't be here if I wasn't. I'm sorry this is just the lesser of two evils for you."
Rebecca smiled. "You know, I think..." she took a deep breath and smiled tremulously. "I think it's going to be an honor to be served next to you."
Cindy smiled and turned to face Ms. Grundy. The doors swung open and a pair of scared young teens stepped in, a boy mouse and a doe. They froze at the sight of her, mouths hanging open. The doe licked her lips. "You...?"
"Will be living my truth, and fulfilling my deepest fantasies by taking my place next to you today," Cindy said with a smile. She turned to Ms. Grundy. "Speaking of which, I imagine it's a nightmare to skin a taur, so we should probably get started. Just, one thing?"
She held out the pendant, a lump in her throat. "This...means a lot to me. But no-one I know will want it, and," her voice caught, "it just...I hate to just throw it away."
Ms. Grundy smiled and took it from her. "Well, I think we'll garnish you with it, for starters. And then when we send the ashes of your bones to your parents, we'll slip it in with them."
Cindy smiled, eyes watering. "Thank you," she whispered.
She took a deep breath and clapped her hands. "So, um, let's get me ready."
Ms. Grundy nodded at a long steel table. "Hop up."
She walked over to the table and carefully climbed up on it. Her bulk barely fit on it, but she could stretch out a little. She glanced over and saw the prey...she smiled and almost giggled. The other prey kids stared at her in shocked silence. Ms. Grundy tapped them gently on the shoulders. "Come on, let's get you processed."
She laid her head back, trying to control her breathing. This was happening. This was really happening. She was in the kitchen, just another prey kid about to be prepared for lunch. A kitchen assistant, a big bull, stepped up next to her and rubbed her upper back gently. "You ready?"
"Since I could walk," Cindy said with a little smile.
The bull grinned. "Do you want to be restrained?"
Cindy shook her head. "I want this."
"Ok. You know what comes next?"
"Yeah,": she whispered.
"You scared?"
She blushed. "Yeah, but...I want it."
He nodded. "It's perfectly natural to be scared right now. We'll try to make this as quick and easy as possible, ok?"
"Ok," she said with a smile.
"Here," he said, holding out a strap of leather. "You may want to bite down on this."
She nodded and placed the strap deep between her teeth, biting down firmly. She gave him a thumbs up and then watched as he picked up a slender skinning knife. Her breathing quickened and for a moment she had a wild doubt. Could she really do this? Would she regret this?
Then the knife was in her skin and her eyes flew wide. She bit down tightly and breathed through her nose as it slit gently up her underbelly. The knife traced down her legs to stop at her ankles, all four of them and she closed her eyes, repeating over and over in her head I am prey. It helped her focus through the pain as the knife traced a line up the front of her torso, traced a collar around her scapula so that her neck and face would be left with fur, and then down the tops of her arms to her wrists.
Shaking slightly, Cindy kept up her inner mantra as the really sucky part started. The knife slid between her skin and muscle, working her pelt free of her in smooth, broad strokes. She lifted her head and stared down at her underbelly as the fur on her left legs was pulled free and her pelt from her underbelly and left lower flank and forequarter was flipped back to reveal the naked muscles underneath. Her heart leapt at the sight, and she grinned fiercely around her mouthful of leather. She had done it. She was one quarter of the way to being ready to serve and there was no turning back.
The bull worked his way up her front, flensing the pelt off her left side. She took a deep breath and held up her shaking arm for him to work on as he stripped the fur off it. She pulled her arm down and stared at herself in wonder through the slight haze, admiring how delicious she looked. I'd eat me, she thought with a giggle.
"Huh." The bull paused and stared at her. "That's not a noise I'm used to hearing. Can you flip over?"
Cindy nodded and carefully rolled as he moved her pelt out of the way. Laying on her naked side was an experience, able to feel the cold metal in a whole new way. She swallowed heavily and settled herself to have the other half of her body skinned. I am prey, she chanted softly in her head as the knife slid under the pelt of her right flank and began separating it from her. She rested her head on the table and focused on a fleck of gold in the tiles of the wall, keeping her breathing slow and steady. This was her dream. This was the price of living her truth. She'd seen hundreds, maybe even thousands of her fellow prey kids served this way. She could do this.
She was almost caught by surprise when she realized he was working on her arm already. She didn't bother to lift it up as he was almost done. She watched, breathing slowly, as he lifted away the last connection of her pelt to her body. The only places she had fur were her neck, head, hands, and foot paws. She blinked slowly, and sat up, reaching up to take the strap out of her mouth. She turned and looked back at herself, at the amazing sight of 437 lbs of foxtaur meat, ready to be served.
Over her shoulder, she caught sight of the other prey kids staring at her in silence. Rebecca, as well as the boy and doe who'd come in after them, were already skinned and sitting on serving trays. A ram and an ewe rounded out today's menu, both of them in the process of being skinned, about half done. The two sheep were staring at her with determination in their eyes.
"Here," the bull said, rolling up an extra large serving tray on a cart. "You're too heavy for us to move. Can you...?"
She smiled and licked her lips. "Of course," she said quietly. Wincing slightly, she pushed to her feet and stepped delicately over onto the tray, then sat down and settled her paws under her. Ms Grundy walked over and gently placed her pendant back around her neck, leaning in to murmur softly, "I wish I had you in my kitchen every day."
Cindy cocked her head quizzically.
Ms. Grundy winked. "Not one scream. No one made a peep today. They figured if you could do it, they could too."
Cindy smiled, blushing as she was rolled over to join her fellow meals. She licked her muzzle and looked over at them. "That sucked," she said with a grin.
There was a whuff of laughter from the doe. "Yeah, it did."
Rebecca took a deep breath, wincing slightly. "Are you scared of what's next?"
Cindy shook her head. "No. I know I can take it now. And so do you," she said with a smile. She reached out and took the rabbit's paw, giving it a squeeze. "It's going to be fine."
The ram and ewe were rolled over, both of them trembling slightly. The ram blinked at the sight of the pendant around her neck. "Wow. Prey League, huh?"
Reaching up to stroke it, Cindy smiled a little regretfully. "In spirit, at least. I never registered, or went to any meetups."
The ewe licked her lips. "Yeah, you would have stood out a little bit at the local chapter."
Cindy blinked and stared at them with new eyes. "You're actual Leaguers?"
He nodded. "My sister and I would have graduated at the end of this year. We...wanted to give back to the school for everything it gave us, and set an example for the younger leaguers."
The ewe smiled wryly. "Though I think you're going to make more of a statement than we ever could."
Cindy blushed. "I'm not here to make a statement. I just wanted to be who I really am."
The sheep exchanged a look and grinned at her. "That's the most League thing I've ever heard," the ram said softly. "Hopefully other prey who have pred bodies will see you today and know that they can be true to themselves too."
"Ok, kids, it's showtime," Ms. Grundy said briskly, walking over toward them. "Last chance: anyone want a gag or restraints?"
Five sets of eyes swiveled to her and she blushed. "Look, do what you need to do," she said softly.
Five heads shook in unison. Ms. Grundy nodded. "Ok, then. Try to relax and let it happen."
The kitchen staff rolled them out to the waiting cafeteria line. After a moment, Cindy realized they were going to put her in the centerpiece. "Wait."
Everyone turned to look at her. She smiled. "Those two should be centerpiece," she said, pointing at the sheep. "I don't want to be special or make a statement, I just want to be food."
The staff stepped over and conferred softly for a moment, then came back. A moment later, the sheep twins were sharing the centerpiece, and she was tucked down at the end. She settled herself, listening for...
The bell rang. Students would pull a ticket as they entered and then come forward to the buffet as the number over their respective buffet was shown. She just hoped Bethany got a good number. She waited and then she heard the distant roar of students approaching. She shivered, nervous suddenly. What if no one wanted to eat her? What if they thought it was weird to eat a taur and passed her over? She licked her lips and tried to still her pounding heart.
"You ok?" the attendant who would be carving her asked her softly. "Change your mind about restraints?"
She shook her head and swallowed nervously. "What if they don't eat me?"
The attendant reached out a gloved hand and petted her head. "Trust me, these students will eat anything."
She nodded jerkily, staring at the door, trying to quell a rising panic. "But if they don't...y-you're n-not just going to th-throw me away, right?"
The attendant sucked in a breath. "No! Sweetie, no, we would never do that to a student. Leftovers are kept in the fridge and served to the staff until they're finished."
She felt the panic start to fade, breathing easier. "So someone w-will eat me. No matter what."
The attendant took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "No matter what. Every bite. We respect our prey students here."
She blew out a breath of relief even as her heart skipped a beat at being included in with the other prey students. Then the doors banged open and a tide of students burst in. She licked her muzzle and started chanting softly in her head again, I am prey.
The wall of students split into preds and prey and then the line of preds caught sight of her and stopped dead. Students piled up as the ones behind craned their heads to see what the hold up was. She stared back at them, challenging them to say something with her eyes. And through the room, she heard Taur, whispered over and over. She fought down another fit of nerves, chanting softly in her head, breathing deeply. Out of sight of the students, she felt her attendant place a gentle hand on her flank.
The dam broke and the pred students started to come forward to get their meals. She tried not to freak out as most of them refused to look at her, choosing from the other selections. She was trying to keep her breathing even when a two legged vixen walked up.
"Cindy Lawson," she said softly. "Guess you really did believe in pred/prey solidarity."
Cindy swallowed and found her voice. "Yeah, I do."
The vixen nodded slowly. "So, any recommendations?"
Cindy's heart leapt. "M-My flank should be really tender. Or if you w-want something gamier, my hocks or h-hams." She took a deep breath, shivering as she described herself as meat, the old heat gathering in her cunny. "My arms would be a good mix of gamy and tender. Um, if you like fatty gristle, my breasts. My b-belly would be pretty chewy, but it should be well marbled. Um-"
The vixen grinned. "Relax, I'm sold. Give me some flank."
Cindy twisted around and watched as the knife bit into her flesh, gritting her teeth as the attendant carved a steak out of her side. She licked her lips and swallowed as the hunk of taur meat was set on a plate and passed to the vixen. Cindy turned and caught her eye. "Thank you," she said softly.
The vixen grinned wider. "Hey, when am I ever going to get another chance to find out what taur tastes like?"
Cindy grinned and watched as the vixen walked away with a plateful of her. Her heart was fluttering excitedly in her chest, watching the vixen intently as she walked to a nearby table. The vixen picked up the steak on the plate and sank her teeth into it, worrying at the meat before tearing a chunk free. She chewed it over, tasting it, and then swallowed. She looked over and saw Cindy watching her. She exaggeratedly licked her lips and rubbed her stomach, then gave Cindy a thumbs up.
Cindy giggled softly, giddy despite the pain. Someone was eating her meat. She was really and truly prey.
"Um," she turned and looked down at a nervous racoon who was looking anywhere but at her. "I'll, um, take a serving. Leg, please."
She shifted so the attendant could get at her leg, eyes screwing up as the knife had to saw slightly to get through the tough meat. She blew out a sigh of relief as it came free, and smiled at him as the plate was handed to him. "Enjoy," she said softly.
He glanced up at her with a nervous smile, and then scurried off.
"So you're prey, huh?"
She looked around and smiled at Karl, one of the star linebackers for the football team. "Yeah. All my life."
The bear student shook his head. "Weird. Still, I always wanted a piece of that ass."
She winced as a piece of her hindquarters was carved out and handed to the bear. "I hope you enjoy me," she said with a smile.
He shook his head and walked off, grinning.
Slowly, other students started to come up to her. Her left forearm was cut off and served to a puma. The rest of her leg and part of another one was served to a jackal and a coyote respectively. Several portions of her ample flank, hindquarters, and fore hock were served to a variety of students. Most of the kids eating her were the lower class preds, the scavengers, the ones who might someday end up on a taur menu getting their own back in advance.
"Holy shit, Cindy."
Cindy winced as her bicep was carved off for a fox. She looked past him at her best friend, blushing. "H-Hi, Beth," she said through gritted teeth.
The wolfess stared at her in silence for a moment, then stepped up to her place in line. Her eyes fell on the pendant hanging on her friend's chest. She swallowed and reached up to wipe her eyes. "How..." she cleared her throat and tried again. "How long have you known you were...this way?"
Cindy smiled. "I'm prey, Beth. It's not a dirty word. And pretty much all my life"
Bethany's eye twitched when Cindy called herself prey. "Why didn't you say something?"
Cindy sighed. "What was there to say? Would you have helped me? I mean, really helped me, given me what I wanted?"
The wolfess opened her mouth, only to be gently interrupted by the attendant. "You're holding up the line, sweetie."
Bethany swallowed and stepped around beside the counter, taking herself out of line. Another student came forward for a helping of mutton, and the line resumed moving.
"I don't know," her friend whispered softly. "I don't...I don't know. I'm not speciesist. I...just...would you have wanted me too?"
Cindy nodded shyly, then bit her lip as another chunk of her hindquarters was carved out and served. "I...I don't mean to make you uncomfortable, but you were my first pred crush. I used to fall asleep dreaming of you eating me."
Bethany's mouth moved soundlessly for a moment. "W-Wow. That's..." she let out a small laugh. "You know, when we first met, my mom was so scared that I had a taur friend. That you were going to eat me."
Cindy giggled. "Not how that turned out, huh?"
Bethany shook her head slowly, her smile fading. She took a deep breath. "Do...do you still want me to..."
The foxtaur shivered, and then winced as a slice of her flank was portioned off. "If it will make you uncomfortable, I understand if you don't," she said softly.
Bethany swallowed and forced a smile. "Be honest, Cindy. The least I can do for my oldest friend is respect her for who she is. Is there, um...what would make you..."
Cindy swallowed. "It's...that is...um, my flank is popular."
Bethany nodded slowly. "And is that what you really want?"
Cindy looked away. "I don't want to embarrass you. I know how weird this must be."
"Your breasts?"
Cindy swallowed again, convulsively. "I...Bethany, I still have my filet."
The wolfess' eyes widened. "Oh. Oh, um, wow."
The foxtaur looked at her nervously, smiling slightly. "First pred crush, remember?"
Bethany stared at her for a long moment, and Cindy barely twitched as the first portion from her upper torso was carved out, a small steak of her upper flank.
"I would be honored," Bethany said softly.
Cindy's heart stopped. "R-Really?"
"Really," Bethany said with a smile.
Cindy turned excitedly to the attendant. "Can you-"
"You'll have to stand your hind end up a bit. Can you do that?"
Cindy shivered and tried. Her left side, the side that was being carved, was weak, but there was just enough strength to balance that side if she leaned her weight on her right hind leg. She grunted and strained and managed to get her hindquarters up off the serving tray.
"That's good enough, just breathe now," the attendant said softly.
Cindy took a deep breath and then her eyes unfocused slightly as the knife bit deep into her groin, carving out her tenderest cut for the first pred she'd ever dreamed of eating her. It seemed to go on forever and her ears were starting to ring slightly when she felt a hand on her hindquarters. "Ok, you can relax."
She settled back down, shaking her head a little to clear it, breathing hard. Bethany looked up at her with concern and she smiled. "Ow," she said with a chuckle.
Bethany reached out and took the plate from the attendant. Cindy looked down at it, marveling at how much the attendant had carved out. And in the center of the steak on her best friend's plate was her cunny. Bethany stared at it silently for a moment, and then looked up at her friend with a smile. "You look delicious, Cinds."
Cindy smiled shyly. "Thanks, Beth. Enjoy me."
The wolfess nodded slowly and then took a deep breath. "So...bye. I hope it was everything you wanted."
Cindy nodded at the plate in her friend's hand."Everything I ever dreamed of, now."
Bethany blushed and turned away. Cindy watched her friend disappear into the crowd, with a small, proud smile on her face. A moment later her attention was diverted as the attendant reached over and took her remaining arm, carving off the forearm. She breathed through her nose, chuckling as her stomach grumbled at the smell of all the fresh meat. Heck, even she thought she smelled tasty.
"You know you're a disgrace, right?"
Cindy blinked and turned to look at the speaker. One of the few other taur students, a beartaur named Alex, was staring at her with undisguised disgust.
"What?"
"You're a disgrace. An apex predator, a taur, being carved up and pieced out like a common prey. You sicken me."
She frowned. 'Do I? Or are you just frightened because you realize that maybe someday you'd like to be prey too?"
He jerked back from her, lip curling. "Don't you accuse me of that filth."
"Look, I am proud, happy prey, Alex," she said firmly. "Unless you're going to eat me, I suggest you take your nasty taur supremacist opinions elsewhere."
He opened his mouth, but the attendant cut him off. "I agree. Eat it or beat it, kid," he said harshly.
Alex glared at the man mutinously, then stepped jerkily over to get a slice of doe.
The attendant, and the rest of the line, watched him until he was well away, and then things started moving again. "You ok, sweetie?"
She breathed out, nodding. "You'll report that, right? I don't want him hurting any of the people who ate me."
He nodded and carved out a chunk of back strap for a young coyote. "Oh, yeah. We don't take kindly to that kind of hate speech here."
She winced as he sliced into her flank. "Good."
The line was starting to thin, and she still had her almost her entire upper torso and her entire right flank, as well as a few chunks of flank and hindquarters on the left side. She turned carefully and glanced back, feeling a little pang of disappointment at seeing that she was by far the most intact person still on the menu. The doe was gone, as were the sheep. The mouse boy was laying on his back, legs, arms, hams, and belly gone. Rebecca still had half her belly, but she was almost as picked over as the mouse.
"You can't compare yourself to them," the attendant said softly. "You're three times their size."
Cindy smiled a little and nodded. "Yeah," she said softly.
She looked up and locked eyes with one of the other taurs, a cattaur named Susan. She braced herself for another wave of hate as the pretty, lithe girl stepped up to her.
Susan looked down at her pendant silently, then nodded. "I may not understand, but I can respect your choice."
Cindy breathed out a sigh of relief. "Thank you," she said softly.
Susan smiled. "And out of respect, I will take both of your breasts, a portion of hindquarter, and a belly steak."
Cindy blinked, tears of gratitude springing up in her eyes. Taur students got bigger portions, so they usually had a little bit of everyone. Susan's choice to eat no-one but her when there were still three prey to choose from was a sincere compliment.
"Um, wow. I'm flattered," she said as the attendant carved out one of the last steaks from her left hindquarter. He stepped around in front of her and slipped the knife into her stomach. She blew out a sharp breath as he carved out a steak from her upper abdomen, the entire lower portion of her abs going on a plate. She felt her guts slide out and gulped at the weird feeling.
"You ready?" He said as he cradled her left breast in his hand.
Cindy nodded, wishing she still had hands to clench. He placed the knife against her chest and started slicing down, curving in slightly to cut out the roots. She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as the sensitive mass was sliced free of her chest. She blew out a breath, then took a couple of shaky ones as he grabbed her other breast.
"Need a minute?"
She swallowed and shook her head. "Do it."
Once again, there was a knife carving into her chest, sawing back and forth slightly as it severed the tough gristle and fat. She bit her lip as the last of it was sliced free and blinked slowly, trying to hold her head together.
"Damn," Susan said softly. "I have never seen any prey girl lose her tits without making a sound, at least not without a gag."
Cindy smiled proudly. "Now you have."
Susan nodded. "Congratulations, Cindy," she said with a small smile. "You seem to have made one hell of a prey."
Blushing at the praise from the predator, Cindy smiled shyly. "Thanks. Enjoy me, ok?"
Susan grinned as she started to turn away. "No question there, you smell delicious."
Cindy grinned. The rest of the line was more open to eating her, now that they'd seen another taur dig in. Between the remaining students, they polished off her left lower torso and legs, and started to make a dent in her right, including the loss of both her remaining limbs. Cindy was feeling decidedly weird and lopsided with half her body missing and no appendages. Her breathing was slow as the bell rang and and she was pulled off the line.
"Wh-what, um..." she blinked and licked her muzzle, then looked at her attendant. "What now?"
The man smiled as he wheeled what was left of her into a walk in refrigerator. "Now, you rest and sleep as best you can. We'll serve the rest of you to the staff in the morning."
Cindy nodded heavily. She was very tired. She ached all over from the cuts and the voids where her flesh was supposed to be. "What...what if I..."
He gently stroked her head. "You'll be served cooked if you leave us during the night. You won't be thrown away, I promise."
She blushed a little and nodded, having trouble keeping her eyelids open. "Thanks," she whispered.
The foxtaur drifted softly, her thoughts unconnected in the cold, when she heard a soft voice calling her name. She blinked a little and looked around in the low light of the freezer, her eyes falling on a lump of meat. "Hello?"
There was a soft laugh. "Knew...you'd make it..."
Cindy grinned slowly. "Rebecca?"
"What's...what's left of me..."
Cindy laughed softly. "They did seem to enjoy you."
The rabbit let out a coughing laugh. "Y-Yeah. I'm not...sure I could have...made it through that...without you there. You were...so calm and...so happy..."
Cindy blushed in the darkness. "Thanks. It was an honor to be served with you, Rebecca."
The rabbit sighed. "I'd rather...have lived, though..."
Cindy winced. "I'm sorry about that."
Rebecca chuckled breathily. "S'ok. Rabbits...don't tend...to make it...to adulthood. It was...long odds...anyway..."
"Oh. Well...I know it's not what you wanted, but I'm happy we shared it."
Rebecca coughed again. "Me too."
The girls lapsed into silence. At some point Cindy must have fallen asleep, because the next thing she was aware of was warmth. She opened her eyes and found herself warming up under heat lamps. The attendant monitoring her waved a hand in front of her eyes and grinned when she saw her track it.
"Good morning," she said softly. "How are you feeling?"
Cindy licked her lips. "Thirsty."
The attendant picked up a cup with a straw in it and raised it to her lips. She took a couple of sips and then nodded her thanks. "Is Rebecca..."
"The rabbit?" At Cindy's nod, the attendant shook her head. "She's going to be a hearty soup in the staff caff this morning along with the other leftovers."
Cindy nodded, closing her eyes and basking in the warmth on her aching muscles. "Probably best. She wasn't...she didn't enjoy it."
The attendant nodded. "Good point. Speaking of the staff caff, you're about up to temperature. You ready for the big finale?"
The foxtaur smiled softly. "Yeah. This has been a dream come true, but I'm ready to be done."
The attendant nodded and gently slid her onto a cart. She closed her eyes tiredly, conserving her energy for one last push as she was wheeled through the halls.
Her eyes flew open at a round of applause and she looked around the staff room in shock as the teachers, both pred and prey, clapped. She blushed deeply as the attendant transferred her to a buffet table, looking around the room shyly. The attendant laid out the carving implements and gave her a wink, before leaving her to the room of hungry adults. She stared at them a little nervously, and then one stepped forward that she recognized.
"Hi, Coach," she said with a small smile, as her spirit coach walked up to her.
The pantheress grinned back. "You caught a lot of people off guard coming out as prey, kiddo."
Cindy shrugged, and then winced at the gesture. "I had to. I couldn't-"
Her coach gently placed a finger on her muzzle tip. "You don't owe anyone an explanation, Cindy. But I do want you to know that several predbodied students have already signed up to follow in your footsteps."
The foxtaur blinked. "R-Really?"
She nodded. "Apparently, they realized that if you could live this truth, they could too."
Cindy smiled shyly. "That's...that's good. No one should live a lie."
The coach nodded and picked up the carving tools. "I thought you'd like to know that. You ready?"
Cindy took a deep breath, and then paused. "Um, my parents-"
"Wish you had told them," her coach admitted quietly. "I think they believe they could have talked you out of it."
Cindy sighed. "That's why I didn't tell them."
The pantheress grinned. "I know." She held up the carving tools in a silent question.
Cindy swallowed and nodded. "I'm ready."
She bit her lip as the coach carved a chunk out of her remaining hindquarter. She smiled tiredly at her coach as the woman walked off with a chunk of her, and then the rest of the crowd descended on her.
Unlike the previous day, there was no hesitation, and no one else to absorb the crowd's hunger. Over and over the knife bit into her, and she was back to regulating her breathing and mentally chanting, I am prey to cope. She didn't have the energy to talk today, but she smiled at everyone that cut into her, gratitude mixed with exhaustion. She shivered when she felt them starting to pull out the guts from her lower torso, emptying it and portioning the sweetbreads out. She blushed when after a particularly wrenching slice, a lion walked away with her entire primary liver, looking like he'd won the jackpot.
She felt herself starting to come unbalanced as more and more of her lower torso disappeared. She gasped slightly when she felt her primary lungs collapse, fighting the urge to take a breath with them, focusing on the feeling of air in her secondary lungs. She had very little body left, the smaller lungs would be fine. Cindy was breathing a little raggedly regardless, feeling short of breath without the feeling of her main lungs expanding in her lower torso.
A caiman stepped up in front of her and in her tunneling vision, she realized the woman was the principal of the school. "H-Hi," she wheezed.
"Your lower body is mostly gone, dear. Think you could manage without your main heart?"
Cindy felt a little flutter of panic, which she quickly quashed. "W-We'll f-find out, huh?" she said with a small smile.
The woman smiled broadly. Cindy gritted her teeth and screwed up her eyes when she felt a hand close on the struggling muscle. There was a sharp stabbing pain and then she blew out a shaky breath as her heartbeat got really quiet, only the small upper heart keeping her going.
"Let's get you laid down before you fall, ok?" There was a loud snick.and the rasp of metal on bone and suddenly she couldn't feel her lower torso at all. The principal gently laid her on her upper back, so she could look out into the room. She glanced down past her navel and saw the mostly picked over pile of bones and organs that was left of her lower torso and shivered. She was no longer a taur, just a torso, now.
"You're doing great, sweetie," the principal said softly, petting her face, before she walked off with her prize.
She watched the room lazily, idly wondering if her upper torso was going to make it to a third meal. The demand for her meat seemed to have slowed a little. Someone broke away from the crowd and started toward her, and for a moment she assumed her eyes were playing tricks on her, since it was a goat approaching her. He stepped up to her and crouched down so they were eye to eye.
"Hi, Cindy. How are you doing?"
Cindy licked her lips. "I'm tired," she said softly.
He nodded, smiling gently. "I can imagine. I just hope when my turn comes, I go out as well as you."
She blushed. 'Th-Thanks."
"Speaking of, I have a favor to ask of you, ok? No pressure, and it's ok to say no."
"O-OK."
He reached into his shirt and pulled out a pendant to match the one that still rested on her chest. "I'm the sponsor for the campus chapter of the Prey League. Could we have your head and pendant to display in the club room?"
Cindy blinked slowly. "My parents-"
"Will still receive your pelt and the ashes of your bones," he reassured her.
She stared at him for a long moment, and then smiled. "I'd...I'd like that, then."
He smiled and gently scritched between her ears. "Thanks, kiddo." He looked down at her torso thoughtfully. "Not long now. Let go whenever you're ready, ok?"
She nodded, and smiled slightly. "I can still breathe, and I still have one heart. I'll be here until I can't be."
He blinked. "Wow. You're absolutely amazing, kid. Good luck." He stood up and walked off into the crowd.
Cindy watched the crowd, counting breaths and waiting.
She blinked and realized she'd been drifting when she looked up and found a german shepherd standing over her. She winced as the knife carved out the remains of her belly. The lizard behind him carefully scooped out her vestigial upper digestive system, and her breathing began to come a little shorter as the support for her remaining lungs was removed. The knife came down and a massive tiger carefully cracked open her ribcage, removing both racks or front ribs. She gulped air in little gasps, her heart and lungs exposed,
A fox stepped up and stared down at her, grinning. "How are you still here?"
She smiled slightly in between gasps, unable to answer him.
He pursed his lips. "There's a little side meat, and some back I can get at from here. Or, if you're ready, I can take your heart and lungs. Ready?"
She smiled peacefully and gave him a jerky, but clear nod. She was ready to go to sleep for the last time.
He nodded and the knife descended. She twitched as her air was cut off, and a moment later the soft rushing of her heartbeat stilled in her ears. She smiled and mouthed, Thank you.
She turned her head to the side, watching the room of people enjoying her until her vision faded and she slipped away, content to have finally found her place in life.
