Chapter 2 - The second day

Real World

After John had ended his morning routine and ate breakfast, he searched in forums about the orc in the forest. The only information that he found was that he appeared to random times and on random places in the forest. During his search he found that only a few players who killed the orc had found the mysterious stones. But nobody in the forums seems to know what do to with the stones. Some believed that this stones could be used to summon a demon. After he ended his search he logged into the game. Before he started he changed some options so he set him a alarm clock for 2:00 pm so he could have lunch. After that he finally started the game.

Game World

When the game had started, John stood in his room in the inn. The first thing he did was to look into the mirror if something has changed on his body. But everything was normal. After that he began to control the bandage on his body and change same, where he still could find wounds. In Furries World wounds and broken bones heal much faster than in the real world but without the correct treatment there will be complications. After that he looked if he got a massage from Angelusmortira.. But she didn't send a massage. Then he left the inn.

When he stepped on the street of Pirtatonis he was nearly overrun by a group of three soldiers who wore white armours and one soldier said:"Watch where you go, pup." With this words he turned around and left. "Who the hell are they?" asked John loud. "The order of the white cosmos." said a dragon with red scales and John said: "My friend told me about them, but I thought they are only active in Terolakianes." "They were but since a few months they began to expand there influence in Alkinadia." "Oh. OK thanks for the information." After they said goodbye to each other and John continues his way.

In Furries World the are four great nations. Alkinadia in which Pirtatoni can be found is a republic. In the major cities are councils. The member of the councils are elected by the players who had a house or apartment in the city and the NPC's of the city. The council decide over the law in the city and in the capital city Lyatakipikt the council is responsible for the ruling of the country.

Terolakianes is another major nation in the world. The country is ruled by a religious leader and a council of high priests. In the cities patrols religious militia who controls the citizens. The militia is called order of the white cosmos. The order has also the responsible for spreading the religion.

Harikatos is the third major nation in the world. The ruler is a king with absolute power. The nobility manage the land for the king. They pay the taxes to the king. The nobility and the peasantry have now power in the land.

The fourth mayor country in the world is Zukritagem. It was like Harikatos a monarchy. But twenty year ago a civil war started in the land. Now there is now no longer a real government. The country is ruled by a great number of warlords. Also there are rumours of demons in the land.

John walked through the city to find some quests. During his search he heard a conversation about some problems about a necromancer in a tomb on the graveyard, which was in the east of the city. After he bought a shield. He went to the graveyard to fight the necromancer. After a short search on the graveyard he found the tomb in which the necromancer was. So he entered the tomb. He walked down the stairs and draw his sword. When he reached the ground he was attacked by a group of skeletons but they didn't were a problem for John. During his search on the ground level he was attacked by more skeletons. He search in the complete tomb before he found the necromancer.

The necromancer was working on a summoning of a skeleton. This skeleton was once one of the strongest warriors of the city. His name was Kritiarus. When John stepped in the room the necromancer turned around. The necromancer wore a black robe. On it were symbols in white but John didn't know theirs meaning. Because the necromancer had his hood down John couldn't see his face. "Look what we got here another stupid hero. You think you can defeat the great Keteratus. The master of the undead and the future rule of this pathetic city." His voice was cold like ice and had an evil tone. When he began to laugh it made Johns blood run cold. But before John could give an answer he heard a loud rumble and saw that the summoning was a success and Keteratus said: "Now that you awake my slave kill this pathetic hero. But don't do it fast I want to hear his screams of pain."

After he had spoken Kritiarus began his attack. The attack came fast. John got a hit on his chest before he could react. The next attack he could block with his shield. The next few minutes the fight continues. John as well as Kritiarus got a few hit on the other one. But with every hit John became slower, because he became more and more exhausted.From despair John grabbed a urn and threw it. John was surprised when the urn hit the Kritiarus on his head and the head of Kritiarus flew through the room. Kritiarus fell to the ground. The magic has ended, because the rune which hold the magic were destroyed. In the same moment a fireball hit John on the chest and threw him against the wall. When John looked up he could see another fireball who flew in his direction. In the last moment he could evade the attack. Before Keteratus could threw another fireball John ran to him. With a strike of his sword he cut of the head of Keteratus. The head flew into a urn and John said "Hole in one." After that he looked through the robe of Keteratus. He took the 12 silver coins an the amulet which Keteratus cast the summoning spell. The Amulet of reincarnation gave the player the ability to survive one deadly attack every twelve hours.

Than John left the tomb and returned to the city. Johns armour had took a lot of damage through the fights. So he had to visit a blacksmith. After a short search he found the blacksmith in the city. "Hallo want can I do for you sir?" asked the blacksmith. "First I need a repair of my armour and a lesson in forging weapons and armours." answered John. "OK, first let me look at your armour. You can take your armour off in the next room." John left the room to take of his armour and returned with it to the blacksmith. The blacksmith inspected the armour and said: " The repair will take a few hours and will cost you 1 silver coin and 200 copper coins. Every lessons in forging will you cost 1 silver coin. Come back in two hours then I will mostly have repaired your amour and I can give it back to you and we can begin your first lesson." John left the blacksmith wearing only a tunic. After he returned to his room in the inn, he treated his wounds and burnings. During the treating he heard the alarm clock so he logged out to eat something.In Furries World there is no skill system. This means that to create something or use a weapon you need your own experience.

After two hours he returned to the game. He went back to the blacksmith to get his amour and the lessons in forging. The blacksmith explained to John which metal are good to make an armour and which are good to make a weapon. This took nearly half a hour after that John got explained how to get the right temperature for the metal so that it can be formed and which colour the metal got on different temperatures. After that John got the chance to try it himself and he failed completely, because the metal was too hot. When John hit the metal for the first time it broke in two halves. After ten tries John got the right temperature and he could begin the forging. He had paid for two hours. When the lesson was over John got a thing which looked a bit like a sword. The blacksmith said: "You can use the forge every time. This area is separated from the rest of my business, so even if you would come at night I wouldn't hear you forging. You have to buy your own tools and the metal to make a weapon or an amour. If you need help you can ask me or get another lesson." "Thanks for the repair of my armour and the lesson. I will come back when I got questions or need to repair my amour. Until than thanks and goodbye." With these words John left the forge. John went to the market to buy the tools for forging and for mining. He left the metal and tools at the inn in a chest, which he could lock.

On his way back to the inn John was surprised by a small fairy who said: "Magical post service I have a message for you mister Bloodclaw. The message is from Lady Angelusmortira." After the fairy had talked she gave John a letter and then she flew away. John opened the letter and began to read: " I got some information about the fish and the blood that you brought to me yesterday come to my shop when you have time." So John walked to the shop to talk with Angelusmortira.. After a short walk he reached the shop and entered. "Welcome Bloodclaw I didn't think that you would come so fast." said Angelusmortira. John answered: " I was in the area. What did you find out." "Follow me." They walked into a back room. Everywhere stood bottles with different kind of liquids They had all different colours. "Don't hit the bottles. Some of them contains poison which would kill us in a few seconds and a part of the town." A few minutes later the reached the heart of the laboratory. On a table stood the bottle with the blood an next to the bottle were several fish with different scale colours and some other small animals which furs were different from normal. Angelusmortira said: " This are the first results of my experiments. When I mixed your blood, with the blood of the orc the fur and scales of the animals change after a few minutes. Before you ask it seems like you are immune against this effect. But I would like to take another probe of your blood to confirm my theory." "OK, I still got one question. Where the animals dead before you gave them the blood mixture or did they die after it." "They died a few minutes after they got the blood. But I don't know why this append to the animals and not to you. I will contact you again when I got new information " After Angelusmortira had spoken, she walked with John to the front door and said goodbye.

He was on his way back to the inn when he heard the cry for help from an alley. He drew his sword and shield and run into the alley. There he saw four persons who were fighting. Three of the persons were wearing white armours and were attacking a meerkat with a green armour. This means that they were members of the knight of the white cosmos.

John charged at the knights and could knock one down before they saw him. One attacked John the other one continued his fight with the meerkat. The knight who attacked John was a female cheetah. She was as tall as John. Because her body was masked by her white armour, John couldn't make out any details. Like all cheetahs she was fast and John had problems to block the attacks. With a fast attack John hit hear on the right arm so that her attack became slower. After a few minutes John got the upper hand. So he could penetrate her breastplate an kill her. Her last word were: "We will meet again." After that her body began to vanish and after a uplink time she will reincarnated. When a player dies he will be reincarnated by the next reincarnation's point it could behis home, a inn where he staid or a special crystal near a dungeon. Before John could recover from the fight with the cheetah he was attacked by the knight who he had knocked down when he charge into the fight. The knight was a fox. Because both fighters were equal in there skill so the fight was hard.

But out of the corner of his eye John could see that the third knight defeated the meerkat and knocked him out. So John had now to fight two enemies at once. After a few minutes they both had defeated John and he was send to the ground. "Should we kill him." "No, I think the boss want to torture and kill him herself after he defeated her." "Good idea let's go." Before they could grab him, a giant sword hit one of them on the left shoulder and kill him. The other one turned around to the new enemy. This chance used John to take his sword back and hit the the fox in his back and killed him. After the fox felt dead to the ground John got the chance to look at his saver it was his friend Mike. "I thought that you are visiting your grandparents this weekend." "My mom became ill so we returned home earlier and I thought that we could make a few quest together. I was searching in the city for you and than I heard the fighting sound and came to help." In this moment the meerkat woke up and said:"Thanks for the help both of you. If you didn't come to help me the knights would have take me to there headquarters to torture me." "Why would they do that to you?" asked John. "Because I was a member of the knights of the white cosmos. When I began to play one of them came to me and offered my some rear items if I join them. But after a few month I saw more and more evil thing that they were doing for there religious leader. They killed everyone who didn't submit to them. They didn't care if the were players or NPC's or women or children. So after a long struggle I decided to leave them and run to this city. But they followed me and attacked me in this alley. By the way me name is Emyltus. " "I'm Bloodclaw and this is my friend Stalikanasus." "Nice to meet you and thanks for helping me. But I don't can go back to my home, so can you tell me were I could stay for the next days." "A few days ago I bought me a small house on the edge of town. So you can stay there for the night." "Or you can come to the inn were I stay. The choice is yours. I will go back to the inn and log out. Before you ask Stalikanasus I had a long day and only want to eat and go to bed." "OK I understand that so I will also log out an let's meet tomorrow at 11.00 am at the city hall." "OK , that the plan, until tomorrow bye." "Bye." With this words Mike leave the alley to return home. Emyltus said " Than I will come with you to the inn and take a room." So they began both to walk in silence to the inn and Emyltus took a room and they said goodnight to each other. In his room John treated his wounds and logged out for the day.

Real World

After John ended the game he went into the kitchen to make him sandwiches to eat. When he ate the sandwiches, he watched the news show on TV in his room. Mostly it were reports about the politic events of the day. At the end of the show the report said: " Today another man was found dead in his apartment. His co-worker became suspicion, because he didn't come to work for a whole week without a explantation. They called the police. After the police opened the door and entered the bedroom they found him dead. He was still wearing his VR-gear. This was the fourth case of a person who died with his VR-gear active. A police speakers said that they still have no clues how the four persons died." John didn't think much about it because there are always players who forgot there real life, when they play a game. Sometimes player died because of this behaviour.

After the news had ended John returned to his computer and search for more information in the Furries World forums about the_knight of white cosmos_. But there weren't much information, because all players who have joined them don't talk about the politic or ethic of the organisation or the core of there religious belief. John went to sleep after 12.00 pm.
