Professor Oak's Assistant
#1 of Pokemon Professor Oak's Assistant
Giving dedication to Ash's Pokemon left in Professor's laboratory - Kanto to Kalos. A new assistant helps and cares for the Pokemon Pallet town trainers have caught and grows close to some Pokemon more than others.
Warning this story will contain sex between a human and different Pokemon, if this is something that you do not wish to read then please don't. If so continue reading. It will go through multiple chapters as well depending the stories success.
One could say becoming a Pokemon trainer was mandatory, every ten year old, sometimes older, goes on a journey through different regions in an effort to learn more about Pokemon and themselves. However, when I was ten, I didn't want to go and capture Pokemon, I wanted to just travel around the world, photographing many Pokemon in their natural habitat. My parents as one might expect at first wanted me to be a trainer and battle, becoming the champion. However, I just didn't feel like becoming a trainer that battled. One day though, I did want to help care for Pokemon as a assistant at Professor Oak's laboratory right here in my home town of Pallet.
That's right, I should introduce myself, my names, Thomas Smith, I was ten years old eight years ago and travelled all around, from Kanto to Kalos exploring different places, taking photographs of Pokemon, that was my dream, to see Pokemon in their natural habitat and not confined to Pokeballs. On the day of my journey, I remember the words I spoke to Professor Oak.
"Professor Oak, I don't want to become a trainer, however, I want to go around the world and take pictures of Pokemon, to see them in their natural habitat, that's my dream." Professor Oak informed me that I needed a Pokemon if I intended on travelling around, because it can be dangerous being around Pokemon and that was something I understood. So, I still chose a starter Pokemon, however, I didn't feel like battling much.
So I chose Bulbasaur, the Grass Poison Type Pokemon, that was very relaxed and peaceful, a Pokemon that I believed complimented my dream. "Also Professor Oak" I added on as the man turned towards me once again. "Once I've finished my journey, I'd like to come back and help care for the Pokemon here that trainers have caught, including my own if I ever catch any." Professor Oak smiled and said, "well my boy, you go and travel, enjoy your journey and once you've finished you can come a care for Pokemon, after all, I'm getting on in my years and feeding, healing and caring for Pokemon can be a tiring job."
As soon as he said this I smiled and thanked him, however he admitted that he should be thanking me, neither Ash or Gary would bother staying around and helping him once they have finished their adventures, they were just so impatient and rash. Oh, Ash and Gary were trainers who had begun their adventures around a week ago and they were already catching Pokemon giving Professor Oak, lots if work to do.
So on that day I meandered around the Kanto Region with my trusty camera in hand, looking for may Pokemon to take pictures off.."Come out Bulbasaur" when Bulbasaur appeared I knelt down on the ground and began speaking to him. "Bulbasaur, I want to go and travel the world, but not really battle unless I have to, you see my dream is to take photographs of many Pokemon in their natural habitats, I hope you don't mind." Bulbasaur shook his head and cheered happily, "you don't want to battle?" I asked the Pokemon who stopped cheering and shook his head.
"Well aren't we the perfect match" I said happily and began walking with an equally happy Bulbasaur in tow. "Oh I know" I turned around to face the confused Pokemon who stopped as well and stared confused at me. "The journey just begun and my first ever Photograph of my starter Pokemon" I held my camera up to the Bulbasaur and focused making sure everything was perfect. "Say cheers" I said to Bulbasaur and he cheered in his own language and I took that Photograph. That Photograph was of a smiling Bulbasaur with an equally happy trainer or should I say traveller behind the camera.
From that day on wards I went all around the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos regions with my Bulbasaur in tow, of course though he had evolved into a Venusaur through travelling and the occasional battles we faced. It didn't matter what Pokemon I met, whether the Pokemon was weak or powerful, whether they appeared ugly or looked beautiful, when given the opportunity I took photographs of them. From the seemingly useless Magikarp, to the beautiful and rare Dragonair.
When I turned eighteen however, I had decided that I had done enough travelling and had taken so many photographs that it was time for me to return home to Kanto and become a assistant to the Professor. I could also tell you the Pokemon I captured and a little about their personalities as well. Bulbasaur, who was now a Venusaur was very chilled and relaxed, however if and when my life was threatened whether by a Pokemon or person, Venusaur became a different Pokemon, a angry and reckless Pokemon that was thriving off protective instincts.
A Pidgey was my second capture, I remember the meeting so very well, he was injured badly, feathers ruffled and a expression of both anger and fear. What was worse was how he was terrified and angered at me, or my species. I did attempt to heal the Pokemon, however I received a harsh pecking that immediately made me stop and back away. However, that further weakened the Pokemon that was getting even more exhausted than before. I had used Bulbasaur as a way of getting the Pidgey to calm down, as Bulbasaur was such a calm Pokemon it worked and the Pidgey didn't attack me when I healed it.
After some time, I left the Pidgey, to be alone and recover his strength, however, that was not to be, as the Pokemon flew to me once again, pecking my head, with almost affection, however, I wasn't all that certain. I attempted to flee away, however, my Bulbasaur used his Vine Whip and stopped me, that's when I realised all that Pidgey wanted was to come with me. So I grabbed a Pokeball and held it out to the Pidgey and it voluntarily got caught.
The Pidgey however did listen to me, but hardly accepted anything from me, he was always quite distant and didn't really speak with Bulbasaur either. I wasn't much of an expert, but I knew that whatever happened to make him so injured, meant he was likely still not sure whether humans could be trusted and that was understandable. So, I made it my mission to get the Pidgey to trust me, it took so much time and effort, however my patience was one day rewarded.
You see an evil organisation named Team Rocket attempted to steal my Pokemon and while I wasn't much of a battler, me and Pidgey worked together to defeat the Rocket grunts, when Bulbasaur had unfortunately been defeated. Once they retreated, I expected Pidgey to fly away, however he hugged me wrapping his wings around me, I then noticed that he was also glowing as well and he then evolved into a Pidgeotto.
When Pidgeotto evolved into Pidgeot years later, he became a calm, quiet and a powerful Pokemon, but he was good to talk to if I ever needed someone to talk to. In that respect he was much like Venusaur, who liked peace and quiet but was always ready to help me whenever necessary.
Through Kanto I went, meeting so many Pokemon and taking photographs of them, what was one of my most shocking and exciting experiences was actually seeing the legendary birds of Kanto, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres. I remember taking their photographs and boy was it a exciting and fruitful experience, Articuno rescued me on a frozen mountain top and allowed me to take a picture of him (I know legendary Pokemon are gender-less, however for the sake of the story they are considered male, unless specified otherwise). Moltres and Zapdos didn't actually rescue me, but simply allowed me to take their photographs.
I admittedly did wonder why they allowed a human to take their photos, after all, if those pictures ever got out, trainers and evil people could catch them and take them away and I would be held responsible. They could of allowed me the opportunity because I never battled them, or spoke to them with words and not moves, but I considered myself a incredibly lucky ten year old that day.
Once I travelled the entirety of Kanto, I headed over to Johto and gained a new travel companion, a Larvitar that would inevitably evolve into a Tyranitar. The Larvitar was also injured and so I healed him, as thanks Larvitar not only allowed me to take a photograph of him, but catch him as well. I didn't really want to catch Pokemon, but it seemed as though this was a common occurrence for me now. As a Larvitar, he was childish and playful, yet a strong and capable Pokemon. When he became a Tyranitar however, he became a very angry Pokemon, who only I could calm down when he had one of his tantrums.
As one could of expected I also met some legendary Pokemon in Johto, specifically the legendary dogs, Suicune, Raikou and Entei. Entei and Raikou were confident and allowed me to take their photograph, on one condition, that I had a battle with them.I had a Pupitar at that moment in time, however, Entei annihilated Pupitar with a single attack which greatly caused Puptar to get angry and begin evolving. That was when I learned how dangerous an angry Tyranitar could be.
Tyranitar that day admittedly terrified me, with his unrivalled anger and launched continuous Hyper Beam's at the legendary dogs and even me in some cases. Thankfully. I had Venusaur use his Sleep Powder to put Tyranitar to sleep so he could calm down and recover his strength. Admittedly the legendary Pokemon were in hardly any danger at all and handled themselves with ease. I remember being exceptionally apologetic towards the legendary Pokemon admitting I should have proper control over my Pokemon and put not only their lives but my own at risk.
That was one of the days where I doubted my abilities, however, Venusaur struck me with his Vine Whip, to stop me from doing that, I was thankful and annoyed for him doing that, however, I still got all the dogs photographs, however Suicune didn't stay around to chat, he was in a hurry for some reason. Ho-Oh and Lugia were Pokemon that I never saw as well as Celebi, but I hoped that one day I would meet them.
Hoenn was the next region I explored, a region that was quite tropical and introduced contests for trainers to have a try at if they so wanted to. I met a Pokemon here as well, that was similar towards Larvitar, he was called Aron a Rock and Steel Type Pokemon. He also got angry when he became a Aggron and it was me who had to calm him down before he caused any extreme damage to buildings and such. Aggron and Tyranitar were always together, fighting and comparing their strength and their was never really a clear winner when they fought.
It was quite a surprise though when I met the Regi trio, they were Regirock, Registeel and Regice, I was out exploring a forest when I was almost hit win an Ice Beam and that was confusing enough, because I had never even come across any Ice Types so far away from the sea or the cold weather. When I looked where the ice had come from, I saw that it was Regice and it's brethren, apparently, the Ice Beam was just a warning shot as when I backed away the Pokemon didn't attack me. I remember asking whether I could take their photos and similarly with the legendary dogs, they wanted me to prove myself in a battle.
So I started out with Lairon who had recently evolved and battled Regice first, however, Lairon was defeated with a single Ice Beam, that was when he evolved and went running rampant which was very similar towards Tyranitar and those feelings returned, doubts as to whether I was even a good trainer. The fears also returned as well as I watched Aggron almost attack me in his blind rage. However, the Regi Trio stopped Aggron and protected me giving me time to return him to his Pokeball.
I apologised once again to the Pokemon, however they just stood their, I grabbed my camera and took their photographs and went on my way, the trio just watched me as I left and wondered whether they knew who I was, or something like that, as they acted almost like they knew I really just wanted a photograph and not a chance to capture them and take them away from their homes.
I never really met Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Latios or Latias however one day I was sure I would meet them.
Sinnoh was the first region where I didn't really come across any Pokemon that wanted to be captured and I respected that decision and just explored taking photographs as I went. I remember quite a bizarre and crazy day, when the sky above Mt Coronet looked incredibly strange, the sky was almost completely distorted. It looked as though something out of this world had happened and also looked to be worrying everyone around. Soon from research, I learned that this was the work of Palkia, Dialga and Giratina. I had wanted to meet them but I knew meeting them would be incredibly unlikely. Though I did meet Shaymin outside of Floaroma Town, he was just there enjoying the gardens, but allowed me to take a photograph of him as long as I never told anyone that he was here.
I had also heard of the Pokemon that gave people nightmares Darkrai, but knew finding such a Pokemon would be down to chance, that was also similar towards his counterpart, Cresselia.
Unova was next and admittedly this region had a lot of history with their legendary Pokemon, Zekrom said to be the embodiment of Ideals and Reshiram said to be the embodiment of truth. Kyurem however was considered an empty shell that was once one with the two legendary Pokemon. Victini was also a Pokemon that was said to give Pokemon power and that would make them incredibly strong, or so the rumours would say. What was my most exciting moment was seeing the defenders of Pokemon, the Swords of Justice, Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion as well as their student one could say, Keldeo.
I never intended on meeting them, sure I had wanted to, however there were limits, after all the Swords of Justice disliked people, because of what had happened long ago, when people participated in wars forcing Pokemon to be involved as well, so they took it upon themselves to fight humanity to ensure the Pokemon were kept safe. They were Pokemon which needed to be respected, however, some believed they were just powerful Pokemon that needed to be captured.
A strange group of people, claimed that they were going to 'liberate' all Pokemon from trainers around the world, which was something that was unexpected and I knew that everyone had their own opinions, however, the day I saw them, they were attempting to capture or control the Swords of Justice. "Go everyone" as all my Pokemon appeared I gave the command, "please help the Swords of Justice, don't allow them to be captured." Venusaur, put most of the grunts to sleep, while my other Pokemon terrified the grunts and forced them to retreat, though it seemed my help was unnecessary as the Swords of Justice were much stronger than any ordinary Pokemon.
Though, the leader walked down over to me, head held high and stared me down, my Pokemon stared intrigued but didn't attack wondering what Cobalion was about to do. Cobalion then spoke to me, by way of telepathy and said, "thank you, I hope our paths may once cross again" the other members also thanked me before they left, however, one turned around and watched me one last time before disappearing into the forest. That one was Keldeo and I knew he was probably just curious about why I had helped them and not just attempted to catch them. The truth was that I just didn't believe legendary Pokemon should ever be captured as they were meant to watch over the world and protect and maintain the land and those that lived their as well.
As soon as they left though, the grunts reappeared and were fuming at me, declaring that I must release my Pokemon. That was when they released their Pokemon and surrounded me and my team, sure I wasn't much of a battler at all, but I knew that I had to stop them from staling mine or any other Pokemon. "Venusaur use Sleep Powder once more, Tyranitar use Hyper Beam, Aggron Flash Cannon and Pidgeot use Hurricane" the moves were powerful, however no matter what was done the grunts continued to swarm around me and my Pokemon. Until as repayment, the Swords of Justice returned and defeated the grunts and forcing them to retreat once and for all.
"Thank you" I bowed my head in thankfulness towards the incredible Pokemon and my Pokemon said their thanks as well, "what do you want human?" Cobalion asked me curiously, like somehow he knew I wanted something when I didn't really. "I don't really want anything, you saved me and I will be eternally grateful for that." However, the Cobalion simply pointed towards the camera that was positioned around my next. "Oh this, my dream is to take photographs of Pokemon" I showed the Cobalion photos I had captured, from my very first moments with Bulbasaur, to other legendary Pokemon.
At that the other Swords of Justice appeared and asked whether I wanted to take their photographs as well. "I'd only do that if the Pokemon in question gave me permission, that's what every other Pokemon wished when I took their photos as well. Cobalion. Terrakion, Virizion and Keldeo then all at once stood in front of me, and just stared at me. "What's going on?" I asked them, however, Cobalion simply nodded to me and pointed to my camera.
"You want me to take your picture?" I asked curiously and they all at once nodded believing I had earned their trust by rescuing them earlier. Grabbing my camera I took a picture of the incredible Swords of Justice a photo I would never forget. As soon as the photo had been taken the legendary Pokemon wondered off and wished me a fond farewell, even hoping that we would one day meet again. Cobalion then mentioned that even though we live and operate in different regions, we will one day come and find you once more.. As soon as he said that, I could of sworm I saw a reddish hue cover his face, before it immediately faded away and they wondered away.
I never saw Genesect, Kyurem, Zekrom, Reshiram, Meloetta, Thundurus, Tornadus or Landorus but knew that one day I might get the privilege of meeting them.
The final region I visited was, Kalos, a beautiful region that brought new discoveries into the world, mega evolution was something that trainers could now use if they shared a strong bond with their trainer. So when I met Professor Sycamore, he asked me to visit a man called the mega evolution guru in Shalour City where I would be given a Mega bracelet which would be helpful in allowing my Pokemon to mega evolve.
It was a long time of travelling but when I reached a town called Geosenge Town, I was stopped by the sound of a Pokemon and a women calling for a Lucario. When I turned around I saw a women wearing roller skates heading towards me with two Lucario's as well. What was more shocking was seeing, Ash once again, I hadn't seen him in what seemed like years and so we spoke. I was introduced to the Shalour City gym leader Korrina and her two Lucario's one of which had apparently taken a shine to me. I couldn't help but see jealousy and anger on Ash's face which confused me as he was never one to be jealous of someone else. Times must seriously change people.
Ash also had knew travelling companions, a girl who seemed to have a crush on Ash, called herself Serena, a male companion called Clemont and his little sister called Bonnie. When Korrina asked what I was up to, I mentioned that Professor Sycamore asked me to head to Shalour City to receive a mega bracelet. At that Korrina stood up and somehow knew who I was, until she informed me that she was the granddaughter of the mega evolution guru. I was surprised at that and we got along quite well, her Lucario never leaving my side. "Your Lucario, may I ask why he is so attached to me?" I ask Korrina curiously however Korrina replied that her Lucario's were always competing with one another and therefore, this Lucario was always looking for ways to get stronger. Korrina also informed me that it was likely that Lucario was also attached to my aura as he ran all the way here just to be with me.
From that day I travelled with them, as Korrina wanted to learn mega evolution for her Lucario, she had to firstly defeat a Blaziken that guarded the mega stone Lucarionite, that was necessary for Lucario to evolve, luckily though for Korrina their were two here. Her two Lucario defeated the Blaziken by working together. While I watched amazed at their teamwork an fighting capabilities, however, I couldn't help but notice that the Lucario that was apparently so attached to me, seemed to be showing off as he always looked back at me to see my facial expression. Upon seeing the awe on my face, Lucario smirked and continued fighting, before he inevitably defeated Blaziken.
After claiming the two Lucarionite, Korrina wanted to try out mega evolution, however the increase in power made Lucario go completely insane as he couldn't control the power and for a long time, the two were working on controlling the mega evolution. All the while, Korrina asked me to take her Lucario as she believed that I would also unlock mega evolution. the Lucario stared at me impatiently, as he wanted to me to firstly accept the Lucarionite and accept his Pokeball as well. I thanked Korrina but admitted I wasn't sure I should just take away her Lucario when she had raised him so well and made such a bond with him.
Korrina however set aside my worries and told me to move on and that I would one day unlock mega evolution and besides Lucario was already much more comfortable with me, Korrina said one last goodbye and she and her Lucario, as well as Ash, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie left. I just stared after them with Lucario now with me permanently it seemed.
Once I reached Shalour City and the Tower of Mastery, the mega evolution guru gave me a mega bracelet which would allow me to mega evolve any Pokemon if I had their respective mega stones. I soon learned that all of my Pokemon were capable of mega evolution which seemed almost lucky, I was almost 100% certain that mega evolution would be successful with Venusaur, Pidgeot, Tyranitar and Aggron as I had been travelling with them for many years now and been bonding with them as well.
So I began my new mission, creating a bond with Lucario, I soon learned that he was a confident and focused battler, which slightly concerned me as I wasn't much of a battler and wasn't sure whether he would really be happy about accompanying me when all I would be doing was taking pictures of Pokemon and then being Professor Oak's assistance once my journey was over and done with. However when I informed Lucario, he was fine with not battling as much, as he could train with my other team members, he got along well with Tyranitar and Aggron, who both would fight him regularly, with their rarely ever being a clear winner between them.
Eventually though, I soon saw that their was a slight disaster happening all around the Kalos region, a group of people who called themselves Team Flare had attacked Lumiose City and were controlling Zygarde a legendary Pokemon of Kalos. However, the team soon was defeated and it was all over the news, where people were watching all over, I was amazed to see that Ash was there as well, with a Pokemon I had never seen before. My pokedex identified it as a Greninja, however the Greninja I saw looked very different and wondered whether something had happened which caused a transformation.
I may not have been able to help in the beginning, but I headed over to Anistair City where the gym leaders were preparing to stop some sort of abomination from reaching the sundial. Soon enough I helped out, by having all of my Pokemon attack the several vines that attacked us, though I admittedly did get caught by one of the vines and it wouldn't let go of me, no matter how much I struggled. However, I just barely managed to activate Lucario's mega evolution and he immediately freed me form my prison and obliterated many more vines with help from Venusair, Tyranitar, Pidgeot and Aggron as well.
Soon enough I witnessed the abomination's destruction when Zygarde was formed once more and completely defeated the abomination sending the leader of Team Flare plummeting to the ground, where he presumably had died.
Once that had finished I returned to Kanto where I would be Professor Oak's assistance and have completely different experiences with several Pokemon, some owned by me and some owned by others and some that were truly legendary.
