Core's Opportunity--Chapter 9 by Zmeydros
The next morning, Core wakes up to Millie getting ready. Realizing he forgot to set an alarm, his his heart starts thumping. "What time is it?"
"Nine in the morning. I left a number on the counter that you can call to get a ride to school. Your car is still at the club, you can pick it up tonight if you want." Millie zips the back of her black Chinese-inspired dress.
He relaxes, he has an hour to get ready. "Wow, you set up a driver for me?"
"One of the limo drivers from the club is saving up some money for a personal project and asked for any odd jobs I could give him. I'm helping him and you." She smiles warmly. "What's your schedule for the next couple days?"
Getting out of bed, he grabs one of the outfits they picked out. "Today and tomorrow, I'm at school until six, but the next day I only have one class in the morning."
"Would you mind starting to work with Victoria next Friday in the afternoon? I'm assuming you have the same schedule every Friday?" Millie puts on socks.
"Yes, every week is the same." Putting on a grey shirt, he continues, "I could start earlier if you want, you know."
She shakes her head, "You've been through a lot and we have to do some HR paperwork before I can get you started, anyway. Plus, you'll need next week to get your new place sorted out."
He looks at the floor, "I was hoping to work some so I could have money for groceries and such."
"Having your own money is important..." She puts a finger on her chin and thinks for a moment, "How about I arrange for an orientation day this Friday. That way, you can get a shift's worth of money and see if you like the position I want to put you in. Based on how that goes and how moving plans line up, I could give you a few more hours. That sound good?"
His ears perk up, "Yeah!" Oh, how nice it would be to have paychecks again.
She grins. "I have another way for you to make money. The apartment I'm going to give you is Hanz's old one. I now have a building for larger folks and he's moving there next Saturday. I bet he'd pay you for helping with the move since he already likes you from meeting you at the coffee shop."
A big person that works at Millie's place that he knows from the coffee shop. He's got it. "The clydesdale that saved me from Rudy?" His tail wags just thinking about that awesome horse.
Millie nods. "That's the one."
"I'd help him for free." He smiles.
"I'm sure you would, but let him pay you. He's one of our biggest acts, literally and figuratively, so he's doing very well for himself," she says.
"I'll just have to find some other way to show him my appreciation for saving me," Core says.
She smiles, "Well, he really likes you, so just spending time with him will probably be thanks enough."
He doesn't know what to say to that, what does that horse see in him? What do Millie and all her employees see in him? It's just so hard to wrap his head around. He changes the subject having no idea what to say, "So, do I just text this guy a bit before I have to go or should I tell him now?"
"Texting him now wouldn't hurt. I'm going to get my stuff together so I can head in early." She walks over to her laptop and unplugs the charging cord.
He puts in the number on the counter and asks, "What's his name?"
"David, David Mosse. His last name is like the green stuff that grows like fur on rocks and such with an 'e' at the end."
He adds the guy to his contacts and then texts him, *Hi, this is Core. I'm going to need to head out to school in fifteen minutes.*
Once he looks up, she says, "Would you mind if I had all your stuff moved from your old apartment to your new one at the beginning of next week? You'll need to help the movers figure out what you want and don't want. I was thinking of replacing any of your worn out furniture with stuff I have in storage. I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to my storage rooms for this complex and I need to clear stuff out. Once it's in your place, it's yours." She puts on earrings that are intricate silver bamboo stalks with silver leaves.
"My own place, that fast?" His brow furrows in surprise and confusion. She's really going to do this for him too?
"I don't want you to have to stay with me. If you live with me too long, you might fall into a pattern that stops you from getting what you want. Plus, I have lots of friends with benefits, so you'll have to deal with a stranger fucking me at least twice a week." She looks at the floor, her ears drooping. "I've broken a lot of hearts."
Any thoughts he had about her being his girlfriend, start dying off. He never really expected it to happen because of her personality, but it was one of those "what if's" that kept making it to the front of his mind. This is a gift from her, he needs to listen to this. He needs to find his own mate.
She is probably going to be the most helpful and wonderful friend he'll ever have though, a friend is also smoking hot and willing to share a bed with him. If only he could get over his nervousness and actually sex her up. He blushes. "That's all fine. Most of my stuff was broken, so it would help a lot if you had a lot of things you didn't need."
She smiles brightly seeming to be very relieved that he understood her motives. "I'm excited. I'm going to do some interior design today so work on your apartment can begin." She bounces.
He chuckles at her suddenly cute demeanor. "I'm sure I'll like whatever you come up with."
She nods. "And if you don't, I can help you figure out how to change it."
He puts on his socks and then hugs her. "Thanks."
"No problem." She hugs back and licks his cheek.
His phone chimes and there's a text from David saying, *Sure, see you then.*
"I take it you've heard back from David?" she asks.
"Yep!" He nods wagging his tail. He feels like some rich baron or something having his own personal driver for a day.
He heads out before Millie to meet David, who is a short fruit bat, with a little extra weight, wearing an adorable old-fashioned driver's outfit. He is leaning against a nice shiny limo that looks like it came straight out of the fifties. He can't believe it. "Where did you get this car? It's beautiful."
David looks away for a moment being adorably bashful and then says, "I-I found it in a farmer's field north of Pasco and had my brother restore it."
"You're from the Tri-Cities?" The heat of the summers in the eastern part of Washington would be a death sentence for Core, so he'd never be able to live out there, but there are areas that he remembers visiting with his parents that he thought were very pretty.
"Y-yep, from Kenniwick." He opens the door and bows. "Hop in, sir."
He can't help but puff out his chest a bit as he gets into the limo. The inside of it is pristine tan leather and there's a little bar and a couple little HDTV's. The glasses are made of crystal and have a diamond crosscut to them. David says, "Help yourself, we have a few different kinds of pop."
David closes the door before getting in and rolling down the window between the driver and passenger part of the car. The interior has been modernized a bit to add some conveniences, like usb charging stations, outlets and such, in addition to the HDTV's. Normally, he tries not to drink much pop, but the novelty of getting to drink in the back of the limo leads him to open the cooler under the cups and grab a can of root beer. He pops the top and sips it as David pulls out of the parking lot.
The rest of the day goes pretty well. David is extremely shy around him and has trouble holding a conversation. Core has no idea why he's so shy, but it causes him to feel shy too, so they barely say anything to each other. His quiz is easy because he was able to get so much studying done.
When David brings him to the club to pick up his car, he walks over to his car and wavers as he's about to put his key in the door. He's going to be working there, he probably should go see what it's like. It's going to be bad if he's nervous when he goes in to help Victoria. As he walks toward the door, his chest gets tight. He sees the big bull that's the bouncer tonight and nearly turns and runs away.
Taking deep breaths as he waits behind two other people as the bouncer checks their ID's. His hand shakes as he hands his own ID to the bouncer as the memory of his last time here resurfaces. He remembers the way Rudy grabbed him and starts feeling sick. The bouncer says, "Are you okay."
He does his best to smile and nod.
Looking at his ID the bouncer says, "Oh! You're Core! Do you want me to let Millie know you're here?"
"Nah, no need. I'm just going to look around since I'll be working here soon."
"Getting the lay of the land, huh? Good idea." He opens the door. "If you need anything look for people in a tux like mine."
"Sure." Core walks in thankful that the bouncer distracted him from his memories of Rudy.
The music when he enters is a symphonic track from League of Legends that's been remixed. The same red neon and black interior greets his eyes. He has to take a couple deep breaths to calm down as he remembers all the stress from other times he's been here. There's a limber female elephant at the center poll and he watches her for a bit standing next to a short wall thingy out of the way of traffic.
She's got huge breasts and is pudgy, but she makes carrying it around look easy. He gasps when he sees her lift a leg up and grab the poll with her trunk to steady herself. Her pussy is huge and he can't help but imagine her easily taking his shaft after he's enhanced it with magic. He turns away as his pants get tight. Maybe he shouldn't be here? Out of the corner of his eye, he sees something moving on the side stage to his right.
When he looks to see who's walking out on stage, he does a double take. It's a copper-colored shark in a purple bikini. He's never seen an anthro shark up close. He walks over filled with a sense of wonder as he sees her angular face, pointy teeth, and shark tail.
She moves her tail from side to side as the music starts. It's a famous techno song from a couple years ago. It starts off with a quick hard beat and then slows suddenly till the song sounds like it's coming apart only for it to fall back together.
As the quick part hits for the second time, the shark pulls off her bra to reveal two breasts easily bigger than cantaloupes. They look quite firm due to her shark hide and he wonders what they'd feel like under his hands.
When the song starts to fall apart, she falls to the floor and crawls across it with a sultry look in her eyes that makes him whimper. When the song recovers, she leaps back up and starts dancing on the pole. Her arms are strong enough that she can lift her feet into the air until she's upside down. People whistle when she does this. Then she grabs the pole with her legs and lets go with her hands before sliding down and planting her hands on the floor.
She comes off of the pole in a tumble that ends in her lying on her back with one leg bent. She rubs her hands over herself as the song reaches the final breakdown. He squirms when her hands make their way down her tummy closer and closer to her her pussy, which is still hidden by the bikini bottoms.
She rubs her pussy and rolls her hips as the song ends. When the next song starts, it's a more trance-like one with a soaring female voice, but having a similar beat to the first one. She crawls over to the pole and then pulls herself into a standing position from splits.
As the female voice chants "Dangerous, you're dangerous, so dangerous," she pulls down her bikini bottoms. He's never seen a pussy quite like it. The slit is in front, and doesn't go under. He blushes when she starts rubbing her slit. People around him are grinning like they know something's about to happen.
She moves her hips to the beat and bends her knees making big circles, as she rubs. He feels like he's being hypnotized until he sees something that snaps him out of it. The tips of twin cocks are poking out of the slit. She's a trans shark? It's not another herm, but it's close enough that he feels unusually turned on and doesn't know what to do with himself. His knees feel week and he has to grab onto a nearby railing to not lose his balance.
His cock stirs as he watches hers come out. He would leave, but he feels like if he doesn't keep watching, he might never see this again. A smoking hot trans shark! Where did Millie find her? She walks over to a box that's on stage and pulls out two fleshlights. His face is now blushing so much that his cheeks are burning. He watches as she lubes her twin cocks and pushes them into the fleshlights. His cock is throbbing so hard that it's painful.
He sees too late that someone is rushing toward him and not looking where she's going. He feels her breasts hit first, then her groin as his cock hits her just above her belt line. Something hard and poky hits his upper thigh. As she stumbles backwards from hitting him, he grabs her underarms to stop her from falling and hitting the railing that he was holding on to.
He feels, what he realizes is a cock, press against his thigh again as he steadies her. He can feel some of its warmth by the time he thinks it's safe to let go. Before he can say anything, she looks into his eyes with a horrified expression that he knows very well. It's the same expression he has whenever he thinks someone knows his secret. She pulls away with tears in her eyes saying, "S-sorry," before running out of the club as fast as she can.
He turns to look as he realizes her scent is much like his own. A real live herm like him? He has to talk to her. His feet carry him after her, but she has a good start. As he follows, he notices what she has fur like a snow leopard's, but has horns like a dragon and a long dragon-like tail.
When they're both out of the club, she turns left and runs. He follows saying, "Please wait!" He can't bear the thought of not seeing her again. She's wearing a University of Washington hoodie and might be a college student just like him. It could be a long time before he sees another herm his age. Just being able to talk to someone like him would be so wonderful!
When she realizes that she's trapped between the outside wall, a dumpster, and a poorly parked car, she turns around and says, "No, no, no, no. Please no." She's crying and shaking.
"I don't want to hurt you." He backs away trembling sympathetically. He didn't mean to scare her.
"Don't tell anyone. Please don't tell anyone." She says holding her hand up to her mouth in that expression of sheer terror that people get when they think they're about to get attacked.
"I won't, I'd never do that because--" he tries to tell her, this one person, the only person he's ever wanted to tell outright about his secret, but he can't make himself say the words. He's terrified of her knowing even though he knows he shouldn't be. His mind is bombarding him with things like "She's a stranger." and "Can he really trust her just because she's a herm?"
She hides her face, which has orange dragon scales on the top of her muzzle and around her eyes.
He stutters, "Be-bcause, I like herms."
"Oh, no, no no...Please don't." She leans against the front of the car looking like she's ready to turn and pounce over it.
"No, I didn't mean, I meant..." he backs away feeling powerless. Just this once, he has to tell someone. He has to...a hand comes down on his shoulder and pulls him back.
"Let the lady leave." The bouncer says moving him to the side so the woman has a clear way out.
Core looks up at him and says, "I didn't mean her any harm, I just needed to talk--"
"Oh, Core?" The bull looks surprised. As the woman moves past them, the bull says, "Miss. Miss? Are you alright, Miss?"
She just keeps running and Core's ears droop. Whatever the bull says to him, he misses, feeling hopelessness set in.
He comes back to his senses when the bull waves a hand in front of his face, "Hello?"
"Sorry," he says not wanting to look at the bull's face because his eyes are a bit wet and he feels like he could cry.
"What were you doing? She looked terrified," the bull says.
"I, she--" He takes a deep breath. If he doesn't lie, he's going to have to give away his secret. "She ran into me while she was fleeing the club and I was trying to see if she was okay and I only made it worse."
"Next time, just tell us and we'll make sure everything's okay. Following people out of the club is generally not a good idea." The bull walks back to the door.
Well, he blew that. Even if she did come again, she'd just run away from him if she saw him. There's so much they could have talked about. It's such a shame.
He gets in his car and uses his phone to find his way back to Millie's place. When he enters her apartment, she's not home and he takes a quick shower feeling like he has to wash what just happened out of his fur. How did he get so stupid? Chasing someone who's already scared and cornering them like prey. If he'd just been patient and waited till he saw her again at the club, things might have worked out.
Maybe he was a fool to think meeting her would change anything. It's not like she'd just suddenly want to talk about being a herm. He couldn't even tell her the truth about himself when he needed to. Maybe he should just settle on talking to that shark---she might have had a similar experience to his.
He squeezes the bottle of shampoo and growls when he realizes that he probably couldn't get himself to tell the shark either. If he can't tell her, it will be hard to have a real conversation about anything related to what he actually wants to talk about.
After his shower, he forces himself to do some homework and then climbs into bed thinking about his classes tomorrow. He'd stay up and play video games or something, but he just wants this day to be over.
