Pokémon: Darkest Taboo, Pt72
[Sorry for the month delay but it's up and the Story we'll get to see our young hero face off against a considerable opponent!
Will He Win?
Will He Loose?
We'll find out next time but for now I fear poor Jack has other matters to contend with!]
PART SEVENTY TWO.
I t had been a good two hours now and Jack was three quarters of the way towards the reception desk but he would just about get a room for the night, at least if his counting of people in the cue in front of him was correct. His pokémon had taken it upon them selves to head over to the seating in the lobby where they had settled down and napped while their trainer had to handle standing in line; something that seemed somewhat unfair to him that none of them had decided to wait with him, even Lucy had left his side to go sleep.
“Good mind to go to the next pokécentre, perhaps that’d get me some consideration from those slackers!”
He grumbled only to jump as he feels a soft warm hand slip into his, looking down he recognised the girl from the camp site on route nine, she smiled softly up at him, easing up along the other side he felt her Salazzle’s cool claw like hand slip into his other hand squeezing tenderly.
“Your pokémon are so mean, leaving you alone like this, I mean it’s for their benefit your lining up and all they can do is sleep, it’s just not fair”
She spoke in a cute friendly tone, he couldn’t help but smile though it began to occur to Jack he had no idea what her name was. It was kind of embarrassing, he began racking his brain on how to best ask the young trainer without offending her, though much to his dismay his mind refused to supply him with a viable solution.
“By the way forgot to introduce myself back on route nine, my names Tina, it’s a pleasure to meet you, and this is my dear friend Delilah”
Tina giggled in such an adorable way he felt the mental wryness just melt away from his mind, Delilah eased her long powerful tail around his leg giving Jack a firm tail hug in way of greeting him. The Salazzle grinned up at him making sure to leave a generous amount of her pheromones against his trouser leg in the hopes it would drive his pokémon crazy with jealousy, which in turn would leave an opening for her and her trainer to make their move on him.
“Salazzle…Sala..Zel…Laz…Salazzle…Laz…Salazzle…Sala…Zel…Sal!”
[If only you knew how hard we’re going to breed you tonight!]
The poisonous fire type noted with a glint in her inhuman eyes, Jack just gulped deeply a little unsure how to felt about Salazzle along with her jail bait trainer sharing his bed let alone doing something both morally and legally wrong, true having sexual relations with pokémon wasn’t exactly legal either but at least those he had been with; had been of consensual age for their species.
Jack tried to occupy his time the best he cold with reading the subtitles on the large overhead screen that had the news still running on it.
‘In other news Forest City Gym is playing host to Leeroy Neeson of the Anthro Regions Elite Four, Leeroy will be giving an exclusive public lecture tomorrow and offering the chance for anyone to challenge him in a pokémon battle with a large cash prize for any who can either defeat him or last more than five minutes against him.’
The news went on to talk about Leeroy’s accomplishments during his time as a member of the elite four along with his desire to help support the rebuilding of the Evolution Town Gym, that according to the news report was being or rather had been run by his youngest brother until the storm destroyed.
Jack was so preoccupied by the news report he almost didn’t notice it was now his turn at the counter, he was feeling somewhat ill at ease with Tina’s small hand squeezing against his while looking up at him with a disarmingly innocent smile about her young face.
“Hello how can I help you?”
The receptionist asked with an attempt to keep a happy helpful smile to his face.
“I’d like to register for a room for the night please?”
Jack answered trying to be as polite as possible despite feeling more than a tad bit nauseous, his stomach felt hollow as anxiety began to weigh down his feet, the receptionist gestured to a tray like device with separate frame on each side. One for a Pokédex; the other for a cell phone.
“Please place your pokédex or phone with pokédex app, in there please sir , with the screen side facing down!”
The man sighed in bored tone of voice, compliantly Jack fished out his phone with his free hand then placed it face down on corresponding frame. The two devices almost instantly began to communicate with each other before with a chime his room was reserved and a key card pushed out of a slot on the front of the machine.
“Thank You!”
Jack chirped putting his phone away and taking the swipe card firmly in his hand, he took the opportunity to make a break for it while Tina processed her own room request. Moments later half way to where his pokémon slumbered pandemonium erupted as those who had been waiting for hours where now being turned away causing already frayed tempers to begun to boil over, in turn this attracted the attention of security that took the form of several Machamp’s in peeked caps; who swiftly headed over to help restore order. Though this only seemed to escalated things to the point where trainers began to call out their pokémon as things went from bad to completely out of control.
Feeling a sense of guilt, he looked about for Tina not wanting a child to get injured in ensuing chaos, reaching out he grasped her wrist as he pulled her along with him towards his team; with Delilah in close pursuit. All four of his pokémon had been awoken in the confusion, they seemed confused as to what was happening.
“THIS WAY!”
He bellowed to them catching their attention straight away, there was no hesitation only reaction as they sprinted over to him with the backs held close to them. Jack wanted to tell them to forget the bags though such considerations fell to the wayside as a chair sailed past his face only inches from taking his head clean off, the Machamp’s where being overwhelmed as the cities Officer Jenny arrived with a squad of officers bringing up the rear. Their uniforms where different though from the other Jenny’s, their outfits where more S.W.A.T orientated than the normal uniforms, but instead of Houndoom’s the police officers had cat faced Skuntanks which looked more than ready to deal with the situation.
Oni, Blaze, Bunny and Lucy clearly didn’t want any part of getting doused with the putridly foul skunk spray, Logan was unceremoniously dumped over the Blaziken’s shoulder as everyone charged for the elevator doors at the other end of the lobby. Tina was being half pulled; half dragged along by her Salazzle in the same general location as the lobby became a full-blown battle ground as the riot intensified, the healing centre’s security shutters slide down into place to protect those being treated along with the medical staff with in.
Chunks of the marble flaw went flying in all directions as the reception desk with the receptionist still hanging on for dear life went soaring overhead only to crashing into the elevator; jamming the doors open, the man was luckily only a little dazed, though this also meant the group had to change direction towards the far end door leading to the stair well.
They made it, slamming the door closed behind them as the smell of the Skuntank’s odious smell began to fill the lobby, none of them lingered though rather they headed up the stair well not stopping until they were several floors up.
Tina gave a squeak of horror putting every one on alert as she looked around in a panic trying to find her key card only to find Delilah had picked up when it had slipped out of her had down stairs, Jack still had his firmly clenched in his palm, opening his hand he looked down at the number; forty-nine typed upon it in big bold black font.
“i don’t feel so good”
He whispered before leaning against the bars that formed the stair rail then vomited over the side of the steps, his body was trembling as shock took hold, Tina softly rubbed his back while keeping him laying on his side in case he needed to throw up again.
Jack felt his mind fogging over as a sense of wooziness began to drift over him, all he could do was lay their and tremble, but for once even Blaze didn’t seem annoyed with his display of weakness, not when it came to the mayhem they had escaped from, no there was no shame in fleeing a situation that was beyond on their control that and it would have taken weeks to get Skuntank spray out of her feathers.
“Blaze…Ken…Azi…Blaze…Blaziken…Blaze…Ken…Ken…Bla…Ziken…Blaze…Blaziken!”
[It’s going to be all right, we’re right here besides you, try to take slow deep breaths!]
The Blaziken rumbled soothingly to her poorly trainer, every one waited patiently while whispering words of encouragement to him.
