Ninetails' Revenge
Amaterasu let out a contended sigh as she took her ease beneath the cherry blossom tree. A calm breeze blew past her, ruffling her fur and shaking loose a few petals, sending them drifting gently down about her. After the defeat of Yami, she had returned to the Celestial Plains with Waka to relax and enjoy herself. Her left ear twitched at a steadily approaching sound. It was the lilting melody of Waka's flute, the notes fluttering on the warm breeze.
"Ah, Amaterasu there you are."
She picked her head up a little to look behind her.
"What is it Waka? I'm enjoying myself here."
"There has been unrest in Nippon in the last couple of months. People are saying that Oni Island has reappeared.
She let out a yawn before chuckling and scratching an itch behind her right ear.
"I'm sure it's just an illusion. Now let me finish my nap."
"Aren't you at least curious?"
"Not really," she said, resting her head back down on her paws as her tail wagged slowly back and forth.
"Oh come now ma Cherie. Surely you miss your friends. Especially your little bouncing friend."
"Issun can take care of himself."
"How about Sakuya? Surely you want to see her?"
"I'm sure she's doing fine in Kamiki village."
"Well what about........."
"Waka, do I have to get up and follow you down to Nippon in order for you to leave me alone?"
Waka smiled as Amaterasu let out a sigh.
"Very well," she said, getting up and stretching her body. "Let's go."
"But of course ma Cherie."
They hopped into the small ship and headed for Nippon via the Holy Ark. The door of the ark opened and lowered onto the frozen land of Wep'keer.
"Ahh, great goddess Amaterasu, so nice to see you again."
Amaterasu looked to her left to see Kai walking up.
"Hello Kai," she said with a wag of her tail as she got her ears scratched.
"What brings you back here?"
"Waka believes something evil is going on. Right Waka?" she said, looking back but finding no Waka. "Always disappearing on me."
"Nothing's been happening around here, but if you want better answers you should speak to Oki."
"Thank you Kai."
Amaterasu walked down the hill past the villagers as they waved and gave her the occasional scratch behind the ear. She got to the small open field where a single hut was. Four torches on stands marked the corners of the field, a lone wolf with a mask over its head and a sword on its back standing in the center. It was in a striking pose but not moving.
"Hello Oki. How are you?"
Oki was unresponsive as he stood there.
"Oki? Are you okay?" Ammy asked, coming closer.
The sword on Oki's back flashed quickly before he struck. Ammy managed a back flip as the sword hit the space she was occupying a second ago.
"Oki, what are you doing?"
"Your illusion can't fool me. Prepare yourself," Oki growled angrily.
Ammy saw that he was serious, so she got into a fighting stance as well, the glaive Seven Strike appearing on her back. They circled each-other slowly before Oki attacked first. Ammy countered each attack thrown by Oki as they went into a deadlock.
"Oki, what is wrong with you?" Ammy said.
He didn't respond as he pushed her back. He went on the offense again but missed his attack as Ammy jumped into the air. She used the mist technique, and time seemed to slow down. She used the chance and tackled Oki on his back, her glaive pointed at his neck.
"Start explaining yourself Oki," she growled.
"Forgive me Amaterasu. I had to see if you were the real thing." Oki said ears down.
Ammy let out a humph and got off before sitting down. Oki rolled to his side before getting up and doing a flip changing to his human form. He was a medium size man wearing the mask that was over his head in wolf form, along with a purple outfit with a red vest. A fierce, chilling wind blew by them, making Ammy shiver a little. Oki walked towards the small hut and opened the tent flap, motioning for Ammy to follow. She walked in and sat next the fire that was in the middle.
"What's happening Oki?"
"It started a month ago. The blizzard that happened when the twin devils were here began to start again. I made the journey back to Wawku Shrine thinking they were back, but didn't see anything. But I did get a short glimpse of a shadow that looked like a wolf."
"And you thought it was me?"
"Or something close to you."
"At least you're still thinking about me," she said with a chuckle, making Oki grunt.
"Ammy is that you?"
Her ears perked up as she recognized the voice.
"Issun?" she said, looking around.
"Over here."
She looked towards the tent flap to see a bouncing green ball of light.
"Issun!!" she said happily, and hurried over with a wagging tail.
"Whoa, down girl," he chuckled before hopping on her nose. "How are you cutie?"
"Pretty good. How about you?"
"I've been better. Where's that half bit prophet at?"
"You know Waka. He'll show up when he wants."
"As I was saying....." Oki said still looking into the fire. Ammy padded to rejoin him, seating herself across from him.
"There is evil afoot somewhere affecting all of Nippon. It must be defeated at all costs before it is too late."
"I heard rumors that Oni Island is back," Issun said.
"Impossible. I defeated the evil in that place," Ammy responded.
"Hey, don't kill the messenger fur ball. I'm just saying what I heard.
They sat in silence for a minute as the only thin you could hear was the howling of the wind and the crackling of the fire. Ammy sighed as looked into to the fire.
"Guess I have no choice but to travel to the Dragon Palace by way of North Ryoshima Coast."
"I'm going too! It'll be like old times huh Ammy?" Issun said bouncing happily.
"I'll go too." Oki said, standing up.
"Won't the elder get mad?" Ammy asked.
"Probably, but I'm doing this for our village as well."
"Okay, let's go."
They headed out of the hut and down the snowy trail towards Shinshu field. Once they arrived, Ammy smiled as she saw the cherry blossom tree standing tall and beautiful. Birds chirped in the air and the various wildlife grazed on the grass. A cool breeze washed over her, making her feel giddy. She even saw the dojo, along with the messenger Ida doing his daily run.
"Just like you left it huh Ammy?" Issun said.
"Yes. It's still beautiful. The wind is gentle and calm."
They hopped down the hill and headed towards Agata forest. Everything in Agata forest was the same as when she left it. From the sleeping bear on top of the acorn, to Kokari fishing in the lake with his canine friend and member of the canine warriors Jin, who was lying down next to him. Tall, droopy trees gave the forest a swamp like look, but the sun gave it a better disposition. Leaves crunched under their feet as they made their way down the hill towards Taka pass.
"Everything seems normal here," Issun said looking around.
"Or maybe it's just an illusion," Oki added.
They walked a ways further down the forest path, until suddenly, Oki tensed up.
"What's wrong?" Ammy asked.
"Something's here," he said, hand on his sword.
They looked around until a blur dashed from tree to tree. Ammy saw it and used the power slash to cut the tree in half as the shadow dashed from behind it.
"There it goes," Oki said, chasing it into a cave under a waterfall.
Chasing after it lead them to a small cave that was occupied by another blossom tree.
"Stop hiding. We know you're here." Oki said.
A small fox with a mask covering its face poked its head out from behind the tree.
"Sun goddess Amaterasu, so nice to see you again," it said as it sat in front of the tree.
Its body had X mark scars on it along with a mask covering its face.
"Who are you?" Ammy growled.
"You've forgotten me already? For shame Amaterasu."
The Exorcism rosary beads appeared around Ammy as she grabbed them and lashed them out at the fox like a whip. The fox disappeared with a chuckle as the beads hit dead air with a crack before circling around Ammy's body again.
"That's not how you treat an old friend," the fox said, appearing upside down on the cave wall. "You could at least say hi."
It disappeared again, before reappearing in front of her, making her gasp.
"I see you haven't aged. That's a good thing."
"Begone demon," Oki shouted, striking out at the fox but hitting nothing but air.
"I look forward to seeing you again Amaterasu. That is, if you live long enough."
They walked back towards the entrance of the cave as their eyes widened. The once peacefully blue sky turned dark as thunder clouds rolled in. The blooming trees started to wilt and demon scrolls started to appear turning into red and green imps.
"You were right Oki. Evil is afoot here," Ammy said.
"Do you think the rumor is true?" Issun asked.
"Only one way to find out isn't there?"

Repede let out a yawn and curled into a ball on the bed. Yuri was on the window sill looking out on Lower Quarters where he lived. It was a calm day as the sun shone down and the citizens went about their daily activities.
"Yuri!!!!"
He looked down to see Karol running down the street.
"Hey captain Karol. What's up?"
"I got a guild job for us to do."
"Oh yeah? What's the job?"
"We have to escort somebody through the Forest of Keiv Moc."
"Escort duty huh? What would they want in there?"
Karol shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know, but they are paying three thousand gald."
Yuri rubbed his chin before shrugging his shoulders himself.
"It has been rather dull around here lately. Up for a walk Repede?" he asked.
Repede lifted his head and let out a woof before hopping down and out the door. Yuri smiled and grabbed his sword before hopping down from the window. They walked up to the large fountain in the middle of the town with idle chatter.
"How's everything with you captain?"
"Busy. Since the Don's grandson took over, everything is back to normal. Raven's helping him, so he should be in good hands."
"That's good news."
"How's Estelle doing?"
"The princess? Well she-"
"YURI LOWELL!!! We have you now," a voice shouted.
Yuri looked over to see Adecor and Boccos running towards him.
"What did you do this time Yuri?" Karol asked.
"Oh, just a couple of things," Yuri replied with a smile.
There was a loud roar heard above them, making everybody freeze and look up as a huge dragon soared over them.
"That's Judy. Come on Yuri," Karol said running for the exit.
"Sorry Tweedle A and Tweedle B. I"ll make it up next time," Yuri said, catching up with Karol and Repede.
They ran outside to see Judy standing by a ship that was attached to the dragon.
"Hey there Yuri. Long time," Judy said with a smile.
"Hey Judith." Yuri smiled.
"Stop right there Yuri Lowell." Adecor yelled.
"More of your friends I see." Judy chuckled.
"You know me. Mister popular. Shall we go?"
"Indeed. Take us up Ba'ul," she said, hopping into the ship.
Ba'ul took off in the air as Yuri waved goodbye.
"So where is the client Karol?" Yuri asked.
"The city of Scholars, Aspio."
"Hmm, could probably say hi to Rita while were there."
They flew over the city of blossoms, Haluire as Ba'ul landed next to a series of caves leading to Aspio. They headed, inside showing their city pass to the entrance guards and walked up the stairs. The city was small despite being built in a cave. Lamp posts lined the stairs, giving it a soft glow as you could even hear you own footsteps. Scholars walked around with books in their hands and robes covering their bodies. Repede let out a yawn before sitting down.
"Hey runt, what brings you by?"
They looked over to see Rita coming out of her house.
"Hey Rita," Karol said.
"I see you brought along Mr. and Mrs. trouble."
"Hello to you too," Yuri said with a chuckle.
"And of course Mr. trouble always has his faithful hound," Rita said, looking at Repede, who let out a humph. "What brings you guys here?"
"A guild job," Karol replied.
Just then a lady with blonde hair tied in a pony tail going down her back and small glasses on the bridge of her nose walked up to them from the library.
"I take it you are this Brave Vesperia...?" she asked.
"Yes that's us. Brave Vesperia at your service," Karol said with a smile.
"But.........you're just kids."
"We may be kids but we get the job done," Yuri added.
"Oh well, it can't be helped."
"Can you tell us more about why you want to go to Keiv Moc?" Karol spoke up.
"I'm a botanist, and there are a couple of rare plants that I need to catalog and study."
"So you need us to babysit you?" Judy said bluntly.
The lady went red with anger.
"How dare you. I can handle myself."
"Oh, if that's the case then we can decline this job."
The lady grunted before fixing her glasses.
"I thought guilds were suppose to agree with their clients, not belittle them?"
"I'm sorry miss......"
"Auria."
"Miss Auria. She means no harm. How far in do you need to go?" Yuri asked.
"I don't know. I'll know when I see them."
"No problem miss Auria. Brave Vesperia is on the job!" Karol said, rubbing under his nose with a smile. "Shall we go?"
Auria nodded and headed out the city followed by Yuri, Judy, and Repede. Karol was about to follow when Rita stopped him.
"Hold on runt. I'm coming too."
"Huh? Why?"
"I want to look at the aer kerne there since I never got the chance last time."
"Sure. Come on or they'll leave us behind."
"They would, wouldn't they."

Ammy and Oki finally made it to North Ryoshima Coast through lots of fighting. When they got there, the sky was dark and the sea was violent.
"We finally made it. How many of those dumb things did we kill?" Issun asked.
"I don't know. But what now? Where is the Dragon Palace?" Oki asked.
"It's under the whirlpool," Ammy said looking out into the sea.
In the middle of the sea there was a large whirlpool but with the waves crashing around violently, it was impossible to get there.
"You see the how violent that water is? You would get washed out and drowned." Issun said.
"We can't, but there's someone who can," Ammy said hurrying to the dock.
They walked on the wooden dock to see a large dolphin with a passenger basket on its back.
"I was wondering when you would show up," Orca said with a squeaky voice.
"Sorry, traffic was bad," Ammy said hopping in.
"Who is that with you?"
"Oki of the Onia tribe. He is worthy also."
"If time wasn't of the essence I would object. Hurry."
Oki hopped on as Orca took off. The water was harsh as Ammy and Oki had to hold on.
"Look, it has returned," Orca said.
They looked off in the distance to see that it was no rumor. Oni Island had returned. It stood out in the middle of the sea, giving off it evil aura.
"So it has returned." Issun said.
"So it seems," Ammy replied with a straight face.
"It seems the evil is in full force also."
"Her majesty is waiting for you. Hang on," Orca said, heading into the whirlpool.
They arrived under the sea, where Oki was surprised that he could breathe as he saw various fish swim by. The Dragon Palace's front doors opened on their own.
"Come, the queen is on the third floor," Ammy said, getting on the lift.
They headed up the lift into the throne room where Queen Otohime was sitting. She was a beautiful queen wearing a light green gown with a blue and red collar. Issun let out a sigh as he swooned.
"Ah great goddess Amaterasu, so nice to see you again under such dire circumstances." Otohime said.
"An honor to see you again also Queen Otohime," Ammy said, bowing along with Oki.
"And who might you be young man?"
"I am Oki from the Oina tribe of Wep'keer your majesty."
She nodded her head before looking at Ammy.
"As you have probably seen, Oni Island is back."
"Yes I know. Do you know why?"
"I do not. But I feel great evil emitting from it."
"Do you think you can get us across like last time?"
"I don't know. The evil I feel is greater then last time."
Everybody was quiet until Issun spoke up.
"You never know until you try queeny. Besides, if we don't do something things will get worse."
Otohime sighed before nodding her head.
"You are right little poncle. I will help in whatever way I can."
"Thank you your majesty," they all said.
They headed out of the palace where to Orca was waiting. Hopping into the basket, they went ashore and up to Watcher's Cape.
"I will now become the Water Dragon using the power of the Dragon Orb and become your bridge to destiny."
She held the Dragon Orb in the air as it glowed brightly, covering her in a white cloud. She let out a cry before transforming into a long dragon towering in the sky. She tilted her body at an angle as she fell towards the island. A roar of pain could be heard as she hit the barrier which felt stronger then before as she latched onto the island.
"Hurry Amaterasu," she groaned.
"Right. Let's go Oki."
"Okay," he said, shifting back to wolf form as they raced across the queen's back.
They made it to the barrier as Ammy hopped through. When Oki tried, he got repelled back.
"Oki!" she said, looking back.
He tried again and again but got repelled back each time.
"I can't get in Amaterasu. You go on ahead."
"But........."
"I can't.......hold on.......anymore," Otohime said as she let go.
Otohime got repelled in the air along with Oki as Ammy watched helpless. She let out a growl and turned to face the island's castle.
"Let's go Ammy."
"Right," she said with an angry bark.
She made her way quickly through the castle quickly since she remembered her way the first time, even making quick work of Taki the gatekeeper in his seven races to reach the top floor. She walked out and onto the large wooden platform where nine torches were placed in a circle around it.
"Amaterasu, so glad you could make it."
Ammy looked around but couldn't see anything or anyone.
"Show yourself," she barked angrily.
The same fox she saw before in the middle of the platform.
"You don't know how long I've waited for this moment."
Ammy let out a growl and used the power slash, only to have it canceled by the same thing making her gasp.
"Impossible," Ammy said.
"Do you remember me now?" the fox growled.
Lighting flashed in the dark sky above as the torches burnt higher, before making a fire circle around the fox. It let out a howl as the fire raised higher and wider. When it died down, Ninetails stood there in full glory. Each tail had a mask over the tip causing them to act on its own.
"Surprise Amaterasu. I'm back."
"How?" Ammy said, shocked.
"Let's just say, my anger and rage were too powerful to kill off."
"Then I'll just have to kill you again," Ammy growled, as the Eighth Wonder glaive appeared on her back.
Ninetails drew the Blade of Kusunagi, but it was different then last time. It was crimson red with a white handle. Each jagged edge sticking out from the blade was pitch black as Ninetails held it in her muzzle.
"Come Amaterasu. Let us finish what we started."
"Gladly," Ammy growled.

"So what are we looking for exactly?" Yuri asked as they walked into the forest.
"I told you before. I'll know it when I see it," Auria responded.
Karol looked back to see Rita looking around the forest. The tress were huge and covered any kind of sunlight trying to get in.
"What's up Rita?"
"The forest seems to be calming down since Duke calmed the aer kerne with Dein Nomos. I never got a chance to study the kerne though, as much as I wanted to."
They walked further in as Auria pointed to a group of plant life in the distance.
"That's it. Those are the ones."
As luck would have it, it was right in the middle of a small pack of monsters. Yuri sighed as Judy chuckled.
"Nothing's ever easy," Judy said, taking out her spear.
"For once I want an easy job," Yuri replied, unsheathing his sword.
"Woof woof," Repede replied, taking a stance, a dagger in his muzzle.
"Yeah you're right Repede. No use crying about it."
They made quick work of the monsters as Auria stood, in shock She watched them fight as she saw they were not merely just kids.
"Impressive. For kids, you're quite strong. Even the dog," she said, walking next the plants and taking out her notebook.
"Glad you think so," Judy said.
Yuri took a seat against a tree along with Karol. Judy jumped onto a branch and relaxed as Rita walked towards the aer kerne that was inside a giant oak tree, Repede behind her. The crystals sparkled as Rita examined each of them.
"All right, lets see here."
Repede sat down, watching her curiously as his tail wagged slowly along the grass. Suddenly, his ears perked up as he heard a faint yelp. He stood up and looked around.
"Am I hearing things?" he thought, before hearing it again.
He walked over to Yuri and let out a whine.
"What's wrong Repede?"
"Woof," Repede said, started to look around.
"You hear something?"
"Woof."
Yuri stood up and looked around himself.
"Hey Judy, you hear anything?"
"Not a thing," she said up on the branch.
Repede let out a whine and walked back over to where Rita was working.
"I know I heard something."
"He......lp.......me."
"Whoa whoa what's going on?" Rita said shocked.
The aer kerne started reacting as it glowed brightly.
"Rita what's going on?" Yuri said running over.
"I don't know. It just started reacting but I'm not sure to what or who."
The kerne started to overflow and glow white.
"Rita can you stop it?" Judy asked.
"I don't know. I can try, but without Dein Nomos, it'll be hard."
Repede looked on until he saw what appeared to be an image of a wolf on the ground. It was just a brief glimpse but he was sure he saw it.
"What was that?"
He walked closer as he heard those words again.
"He.....lp.....me..."
"Repede, get back," Yuri said.
Repede looked back at Yuri then to the kerne where the image appeared again. With a deep breath, he jumped into the kerne, causing it to flash brightly, making everybody cover their eyes, before calming down.
"Repede!!! Rita what happened?" Yuri asked in a panic.
"I don't know. It acted on its own."
"Well can you figure something out? Repede went into there and disappeared!"
"I'll work as fast as I can."

"The sun goddess Amaterasu. How pitiful you look," Ninetails said, looking down at Ammy.
Ammy was panting heavily on her side. Her snowy white fur had traces of blood and burn marks.
"Come on Ammy, get up!" Issun said.
"I can't. She's.......too strong." Ammy whined.
One of Ninetails' tails wrapped around Ammy's body and lifted her up.
"And now Amaterasu, you will die."
Her tail began to construct and crush Ammy as she let out a yelp. Ninetails watched with glee as Ammy's hind legs slowly stopped kicking. That was when something slammed into her side hard, making her release Ammy as she crashed into the wall.
"Who dares........" she growled, shaking her head from the rubble that fell on her.
When she looked back, Amaterasu was gone.
"No!" she growled angrily, rushing to the edge and looking down.
She saw a mixture of blue and white fur rushing to the front gate.
"Stop them," she howled angrily.
"Who........are you?" Ammy said weakly.
"I'll tell you later. How do you get out of here?" Repede said, carrying her on his back.
"Through.......the front......gate. I'll.......use what......power I have.....left to......dispel the......barrier for a.......brief second."
"Got it."
He made a beeline for the gate, hearing the angry mob behind him.
"The gate's up ahead."
"Okay."
Ammy looked at the gate and power slashed an opening. Repede hurried through it as it closed quickly with a snap.
"Crap. Hang on," Repede said as they hit the water.
He broke the surface with a gasp and looked around but didn't see the wolf. With a deep breath, he dove under and spotted her sinking. Grabbing her scruff, he rose to the surface.
"Damn, not going to get far with the wolf like this."
Suddenly he was lifted on to a solid surface as Orca appeared underneath him.
"Hang on," Orca said, and swam away from the island.
"Who are you?" Repede asked, shaking the water off.
"Names can be put on hold til we get the sun goddess to safety."
Orca headed for the whirlpool as Repede gasped.
"You're.......not going into that are you?"

Ammy woke with a small moan. She looked around to see she was in the Dragon Palace. She tried to get up up but was still weak and laid back down.
"Easy there fur ball, you're still hurt," Issun said, hopping over.
"Issun? How did I get back here?"
"You can thank that strange mutt over there for that."
Ammy looked over to see Repede looking at everything and sniffing.
"Thank you for helping me," Ammy said.
Repede's ears perked up as he looked over.
"You're quite welcomed."
"How did you get here?"
"Well, I heard a voice saying, 'help me'. Then the aer kerne started to react, and I saw an image of you laying on the ground. I was hesitant at first, but I jumped into the kerne and here I am."
Ammy looked at him in amazement.
"He heard my call for help I said in my head. Unbelievable."
"Are you okay?" Repede asked.
"What? Oh yes I'm fine."
"So what's your name fur ball?" Issun asked.
Repede looked around in confusion when he heard that.
"Who said that?"
"I did. The great Issun."
Issun hopped over and jumped on Repede's nose, making him yelp in surprise.
"What the heck? A talking flea?"
"Flea? How dare you! I should cut you to pieces with my trusty sword Denkoku," Issun said, glowing red.
"His name is Issun. He's a poncle from Ponc'tan. My name is Amaterasu or just Ammy for short."
"My name is Repede from Terca Lumireis," Repede said with a small bow of his head.
"Terca Lumireis? Never heard of it before," Issun said, hopping down off Repede's nose.
Before Repede could ask something else, Oki walked in.
"Amaterasu, how are you feeling?" he asked, stroking her head softly.
"A little beat up but I'll live."
Oki turned to Repede who tensed up.
"Thank you for helping her when I couldn't."
"Glad I could help. Now could someone tell me where I am, what the heck was that thing back there, why were you fighting it alone, and how to get back to where I belong?"
Oki looked at him before looking back at Ammy.
"Her majesty is recovering from being tossed so far. But it'll take some time before she's fully recovered."
"I see. I'm sorry I let you down," Ammy said, ears down.
"You didn't let anybody down Amaterasu. The evil was just stronger."
"I think I lost one of my brush techniques in that fight also."
"Which one?"
"I don't know. Let me see."
Repede looked on with amazement and shock at the things he was seeing.
"How is she doing that?"
"I lost Kazegami, god of gale storm."
"Where do you think he went to?" Issun asked.
"Probably back to where I found him, Gale Shrine in Kusa village."
Everybody was quiet until Repede spoke up.
"Um, excuse me? How did you do all of that just now?"
"Didn't you know mutt? Ammy here's a goddess!" Issun said.
"A goddess?"
"Sun god to be exact. And those were her brush techniques."
"Um........okay."
Ammy looked at him, studying his features. His fur was blue around his back while his chest was white. His tail looked strange, as it had a sharp bend in it, a gold ring sitting at its base. Rolls of white fur with a touch of orange was over each paw, making it looking like he was wearing socks. A chain was around his body along with a scarf that was holding a dagger on his right side. His left eye was closed, with a scar over it, while his right eye was crystal blue.
"Why do you have a pipe in your mouth? Do you smoke?" Ammy asked.
"No. It's from my late master."
"I see."
It was quiet again before Oki stood up.
"Amaterasu, you need to rest. I'm going back to Waku and see how the village is."
"Okay. Thank you again Oki."
"I'll let you get some rest also since it seems like I'm going to be here for a while," Repede said, standing up and leaving also.
Ammy watched them leave before sighing.
"She's gotten stronger than before. How could that be? No matter. Once I regain Kazegami, I will defeat her again."

Ninetails paced back and forth, a steady growl in her throat. Her ears perked up as two imps walked up shivering.
"Did you find her?"
They shook their heads no.
"She couldn't have gone far. Go find her. Do not come back empty handed....or else."
She cut right through one of the imps, making it dissolve into black smoke. The other one ran out without looking back.
"You can't hide forever Amaterasu. I will find you."

"Thank you Orca," Ammy said hopping off the basket onto the dock.
"Hurry back Amaterasu. The evil grows with every passing minute," Orca said, before heading back into the water.
Repede watched him go before catching up with Ammy.
"So let me get this straight. You're a sun god. You defeated whatever that was back there long ago and now it's back. But you can't face it again until you get a brush technique which is in a place called Gale Shrine. Did I miss anything?"
"Nope. You got it all mutt," Issun said.
"And what's your story flea?"
"I'm not a flea you dumb fur ball," Issun said, turning red.
Ammy let out a chuckle.
"Issun is like my cheerleader of sorts. He gives me my inspiration."
"I see."
They walked for a bit more until they heard a flute.
"Bonjour Amaterasu," Waka said.
"What do you want you half-bit prophet?" Issun asked.
Waka chuckled before noticing Repede.
"And who is your little canine friend?"
"His name is Repede. He got teleported here on a whim," Ammy replied.
"A whim you say? Maybe it's more then that."
"What are you getting at?" Issun said.
"Don't mind me. I'll let you get on with your journey. But before I go, how about one for the road?"
"Oh brother," Issun sighed.
"Catch the bull by the horns baby. I'll see you around," Waka said before disappearing.
"Okay.......who was that nut job?" Repede asked.
"His name is Waka. He's a bit out there but he's a good person."
"But what did he mean by catch a bull?"
"Don't listen to anything he says," Issun added.
Repede looked around at the scenery. It wasn't the same back home but it gave him sort of a calm feeling.
"Something wrong Repede?" Ammy asked, looking over her shoulder.
"Huh? Oh nothing, just looking around. This place is different then my home. People have to live in barriers cause of the random attacks of monsters."
"Monsters?"
"Yeah."
"Well you don't have to worry about that in Nippon. I got rid of all the monsters long ago, but it seems they are back."
Repede nodded before looking back at Ammy. She had strange red marks on head and body that covered her snow white fur. Feathery like wings were sticking out from her two front leg shoulders and two smaller ones from her rear legs. The tip of her happily wagging tail was black.
"So um......." he said, trying to divert his eyes. "Where are we going?"
"Kusa village, by way of Taka pass."
They entered Agata forest and headed for the north exit where the log bridge was. Ammy hopped on and crossed over as the rushing stream crashed below her.
"Taka pass is right around the corner."
"Okay," Repede said, hopping on the bridge.
As soon as he did, it got cut in half, causing him to fall into the rushing water below with a yelp.
"Repede!!" Ammy said, before diving in after him.
Repede struggled to keep his head up as the water carried him off. Ammy caught up with him and grabbed his scruff before creating a lily pad for them to both stood on.
"Thanks," Repede said, coughing and panting.
"Don't thank me yet, look."
Repede looked to see a waterfall up ahead.
"Just gets better. What now?"
Ammy looked around until she spotted an open konohana blossom.
"Hang onto me."
"Okay," Repede said, grabbing her tail.
She used the vine technique and it lashed out and grabbed her before they fell down the falls.
"Impressive," Repede said, hopping down off the blossom.
"My question is, why did the log break?" Ammy said, shaking the water off.
"Maybe it didn't. Maybe somebody's trying to stop us," Issun added.
"Doesn't matter. Nothing's going to stop me," Ammy said, determined.

Ninetails sat on her haunches looking out at the landscape below, her tails moving back and forth on their own. Her left ear twitched as she continued to look out.
"Did you do as I told you?"
The imp mumbled something, causing Ninetails to growl.
"Where are they headed?"
The imp mumbled again as she gave an evil chuckle.
"So, she did lose a brush technique during our fight. Perfect, get out of my sight."
The imp made a hasty retreat as she chuckled.
"Who is that dog she's with and how did he get past my barrier? It doesn't matter who she's with. They will both fail."
She tilted her head to the left a little to see a shadow behind her.
"Your up. Lets see if you want your revenge as badly as you saw you do."

"So this is Kusa Village," Repede said, looking around.
Kusa Village was located along a mountain side. It was usually busy with tourists, but that seemed to have changed as well as the atmosphere. The air felt almost heavy and tough to breathe in.
"The air seems heavy here," Repede said, coughing a little.
"That's because the windmill has stopped," Ammy said, looking up.
Sure enough, positioned out on a wooden bridge was a large windmill. Its blades were still as there was no wind blowing them.
"So where is your brush technique?"
"On top of the windmill. I have to get the wind blowing again."
They headed up towards the shrine getting various scratches behind the ear from the villagers. On the way to the shrine, Ammy saw Princess Fuse standing next to a hut.
"Ah, great goddess Amaterasu, how nice to see you again."
"Good to see you to Princess Fuse."
"Have you come to help us again?"
"Yes."
"Thank you. I felt a great evil sweep over this village, causing the windmill to stop. Ever since then, the five canine warriors have been fighting the evil coming out of Gale shrine."
As she said that, five dogs came down the path from the shrine. Each one of them had a different color pearl around their neck. But they looked beat up, as a pink dog was being carried on the back of a big Dane.
"Oh no, Chi what happened?" Fuse said rushing up.
Chi let out a small whine as Fuse lifted her up carefully and brought her into the shrine. The rest of the warriors laid down tired and out of energy.
"Tei, what happened?" Ammy asked, walking to the Dane.
"He's back. We stood no chance against him," Tei said.
"Who's back?" Repede asked.
Everybody looked at him in confusion.
"Who are you? And what business have you here?" Tei asked.
"My name is Repede. I'm here helping Amaterasu."
"Hahaha, what can a mutt like you do?"
"Obviously more then you right now."
Tei let out a snarl and stood up despite his injuries.
"Who do you think you are mutt?"
"Tei, don't aggravate your injuries," Ammy said. "He's helping me cause I need it."
"Only ones chosen by us are allowed into the shrine."
"How do I get chosen?" Repede asked.
"Simple."
Tei flew at him quickly tackling him to the ground with a strong headbutt that sent Repede sliding on the ground.
"Tei!!" Ammy said.
"He wanted to know."
Repede got to his feet and shook his head.
"Pretty fast for an injured dog. I bet I'm faster."
"Prove it," Tei said, taking a stance.
Repede smiled and took a step before disappearing. Tei let out a yelp as he got tackled from behind. When he looked up, Repede had a paw on his chest and the dagger at his throat.
"Do I qualify now?"
Tei was still speechless before nodding his head.
"Good," Repede said, getting off and spinning the dagger in his muzzle before sheathing it.
Tei stood up and looked at Ammy.
"Maybe you two can do what we can't."
"We will succeed Tei. Just rest and recover from your wounds," Ammy said, before heading towards the shrine.
"Maybe when you get better, we'll have a rematch?" Repede said with a smile.
Tei smiled back before nodding.
"I'd like that."
Repede nodded before catching up with Ammy.

"Rita, have you got it yet?" Yuri asked.
Rita threw her hands up.
"My answer is still the same the last ten times you asked. No I haven't got anything."
Yuri let out a sigh of anger as he paced back and forth.
"Can you explain what happened Rita?"Judy asked.
"The aer kerne here was calm after Duke neutralized it with Dein Nomos. Something or someone caused instability in the aer causing it to react in that way. I'm still not sure what caused it cause nobody is here but us."
"Okay, I'm all set here," Auria said, getting up. "Shall we return to town so you can receive your pay?"
"Sure thing," Karol said. "You coming Yuri?"
"I'm staying here til Rita figures out what happened. Judy can you take them back to town?"
"Sure thing."
Yuri watched them leave before sitting down.
"Wherever you are Repede, I hope you're well."

"So this is Gale shrine," Repede said, looking around the cave they were walking in.
"It's not much of a tourist spot," Issun said.
"How did you move so fast back there Repede? Do you know magic?" Ammy asked.
Repede chuckled at that before responding.
"It's not really magic. Where I come from, we use blastia for our daily needs like water and other things. Some blastia can be used for fighting such as my dagger," he said, taking it out and showing it to Ammy.
Ammy looked at it and saw a small crystal embedded in the handle.
"Very interesting."
They came to an opening where a wooden bridge was over a pit. The bridge was L shaped, with two small windmills were attached at each end.
"So where is this windmill you are suppose to activate?"
"On the third floor."
"No stairs I hope?"
The bridge was connected to one of the two tunnel openings. They walked into the left one across the bridge and came to an elevator.
"Where's the up button?" Repede asked looking around.
"Right here,"Ammy said, creating a cherry bomb.
Repede saw it and panicked.
"Its a bomb! Look out!"
"Relax," Ammy chuckled.
She pushed it to the center as it got swallowed up by the platform, making Repede jump. The lift took off with a blast to the second floor and stopped. She made another bomb, taking the lift to the third floor, where they got off. Repede looked down as the lift fell down to the bottom.
"That's a long way down."
"Scared of heights mutt?" Issun chuckled.
"I bet you would be flea."
"Why, I should carve you up!"
Ammy laughed as they made their way up to the top of the windmill.
"Wow what a view," Repede said in awe.
He looked down at the view until he felt a refreshing breeze blow through his fur. The windmill started to move as the air cleared up around the village. A constellation appeared in the sky as Kazegami appeared.
"Oh Amaterasu, mother to us all, please forgive me,"Kazegami said sadly.
"It wasn't your fault. We weren't really prepared for how strong she was. But next time will different." Ammy said.
"You are right. I will lend my powers to you once more," Kazegami said turning into a kanji before getting absorbed into Ammy.
Ammy let out a happy bark as she felt whole again.
"Now, there's one more loose end to take care of," Ammy said.
"What loose end is that?"
"We have to defeat Crimson Helm."
"Um........okay. Lead the way."
They headed back down to the first floor and the L shaped bridge. Ammy used her newly acquired wind technique making the bridge move to the other tunnel. Inside was a toppled pillar leading up to a rafter.
"We have to jump to the entrance. Feeling frisky?" Ammy asked.
"Always."
She noticed an open blossom, so she used the vine to rappel to the top. They made their way across the rafters to the entrance. Six pillars made a circle around the center, as a shrine was at the end of the room where the Serpent Crystal was. As they reached the center, they heard an evil laugh.
"I was wondering when you would show up. The other warriors were so boring."
"Show yourself Helm," Ammy growled.
The floor started to vibrate slowly then heavily. A huge figure appeared from the shadows and looked down at them. It looked like a large horse-like beast with armor on. It reached to its sides and took out a pair of swords that ignited in flames.
"I've been waiting for this moment wolf. You may have made a fool of me last time with that bumbling excuse of a warrior, but this time you're all alone."
"I wouldn't say alone," Repede said, taking a fighting stance.
"And who are you? Another one of the canine warriors?"
"You could say that."
"You think you can hurt me?"
"We'll find out," Repede growled, before charging him.
"Repede wait."
Helm smiled as he took a stance and tried to crush him with his feet. Repede was quick as he managed to get behind him. When he got in close, he lashed out with his dagger hitting the armor with a clang that stunned him.
"Foolish dog. You can't hurt me."
Helm threw his left rear leg out, catching Repede in his side and making him yelp as he slid and hit the wall.
"Repede!!" Ammy yelped, and hurried over, before being blocked by a wall of fire that surrounded them inside the circle.
"Like I said before, it's just you and me."
Ammy let out a growl as the Trinity mirror reflector appeared on her back. Helm came at her with heavy swings which she managed to block. Each swing made her grunt as they had power behind each one.
"I have you now!" he yelled, before jumping back and starting to charge her.
Ammy let out a gasp as she double jumped into the air. While in the air, she used the vine technique to lash out onto his neck as she hopped on his back.
"How dare you!" he yelled, trying to buck her off.
Ammy held on tight before a strong buck sent her flying off, but not before planting a cherry bomb on his back. The explosion shattered the armor, revealing a skeleton, its ribcage holding a ball of dark fire that covered its body.
"Still as ugly as I remembered," Ammy said with a smile.
"You insolent cur."
The flame grew bigger, before Helm unleashed a fireball which, Ammy dodged easily along with another. She charged him holding the Thunder Edge glaive in her mouth. She used Kazegami's wind power to quell the fire before striking several times at his body, making Helm yell in pain.
"You will pay for that."
Helm let out a roar, causing the flame in his body to expand. Ammy raised her right front paw up, covering her eyes, which was a mistake. As soon as she lowered her paw, she was caught head on with Helm as he charged her, sending her flying into a pillar with a yelp.
"Now you will die," Helm growled, opening his mouth as a ball of dark fire gathered in it.
Ammy's head spun as she shook it. She looked up in time to see that ball of flame hurling towards her. She closed her eyes waiting for the end. When nothing happened, she opened her eyes to see Repede standing in front of her, dagger in his muzzle.
"It's not polite to hit a lady," Repede growled.
"What!? How did you get past my barrier of fire?"
"If you think that would've stopped me, you're sadly mistaken. It's time I showed you what I can do," Repede said as he started to glow.
"Then show me," Helm said, bringing his swords in front making an X.
Repede charged him, gaining speed. He launched himself in the air towards Helm with a spiral twist, breaking both his swords and launching Helm into the air.
"Divine dog Savage."
Repede launched a flurry of lighting quick attacks, staggering Helm in the air. Ammy watched with awe as Repede landed on the ground, dagger in his mouth as he built up power. Just as Helm landed, he struck out with his dagger as it extended, cutting Helm's head off as his body crumbled into dust.
"I guess that's that," Repede said, spinning his dagger before sheathing it and turning to Ammy. "Are you okay?"
"How......"
Before she could finish, she saw Helm's head jump at Repede.
"Look out!" she said, pushing him out the way as Helm's teeth sunk deep into her left leg making her yelp in pain.
"I have the last laugh," Helm chuckled before crumbling.
Ammy felt weak immediately and collapsed to the ground panting hard.
"Ammy!!" Issun said, checking her leg. "She's been poisoned."
"We have to get her out of here," Repede said, lifting her up on his back and dashing out.
He made it to the small hut where Fuse was and barked. Fuse came out and gasped.
"Amaterasu!!"
She gently carried her into the hut and laid her on a pillow. She looked her over noticing the bite marks that were turning black.
"She's poisoned. I've never seen this kind before."
Repede let out a whine and folded his ears.
"I think I might have a way to cure her," Issun said.
"What is it?" Fuse asked.
"Sakuya's fruit. It might be able to neutralize the poison."
"Yes, it might just work."
Repede hurried out the door before Issun stopped him.
"Where are you going mutt?"
"To find this fruit. That should be me in there instead of her."
"Do you even know where to go?"
Repede let out a frustrated growl and shook his head no.
"I'll lead the way fur ball," Issun said, hopping on his head.

An imp approached Ninetails and mumbled something making her growl.
"So, Helm lost huh?"
It mumbled something else, making her ears perk.
"She's been poisoned huh? Perfect. I know exactly where that dog is going. Maybe it's time I said hi to our visitor."

Repede entered Agata forest with the help of Issun.
"Where now?"
"Up the hill past the sleeping bear is the cave that leads to Shinshu field."
He ran up the hill weaving through trees til he heard a yelp. He stopped and looked around, ears alert. He spotted a dog being chased by three red imps.
"Hang on," he yelled.
"What are you doing? What about Ammy?" Issun said.
"I can't just leave that dog to die like that."
The imps cornered the dog as it whined and curled into a ball, ears down and tail tucked. Repede jumped in front of the dog startling the imps.
"If you want the dog, you have to go through me."
The imps let out a growl and advanced. Repede charged as well, taking out the imps with ease as the frightened dog watched. Once finished, he turned to the cornered dog.
"Are you o......."
Before he could finished, the dog kissed him with joy.
"Oh thank you so much," the dog said with a feminine voice, cuddling under his chin.
"It was my pleasure," Repede said with a heavy blush.
"Come on mutt, we have to go," Issun said, bouncing on his head.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"We're going to....."
"None of your business mutt." Issun said.

"We're going to recover a fruit for a sick friend."
"Can I come? I don't want to be alone in this place."
"Sure."
"What are you doing? You don't even know this dog."
"I can't leave her here defenseless."

They ran up the hill through the cave and into Shinshu field.
"What's your name? Mine is Repede."
"Rao," she replied.
Issun recognized the name and started to panic.
"It's her! She's the one causing all of this."
"Issun, what are you talking about?" Repede asked. "She looks like a regular dog to me."
"Don't be fooled by her appearance."
"We don't have time to argue Issun. Now, where's the fruit at?" Repede growled.
"In Kamiki village over in the corner."
Repede spotted the village and hurried over. He entered and looked around.
"Where to?"
"In the back of the village is a huge cherry blossom tree. That's where the fruit is."
Repede hurried to the back of the village, getting several glances from the villagers before coming to a large, beautiful blossom tree. The wind rustled its leaves, softly causing a couple of petals to fall to the ground around him. A bright light flashed before a beautiful lady floated down to the ground. Repede couldn't help but stare at her.
"Hiya busty babe," Issun said, bouncing happily.
"Hello little poncle, long time no see. Who is this with you?" Sakuya said in a gentle voice.
"His name is Repede, not from around here. We need your help."
"Of course. What can I do for you?"
"Ammy's been poisoned. We need a fruit from your tree."
Sakuya let out a gasp, covering her mouth.
"How awful. Of course you can have my fruit."
She held out her hand as a peach fell from a branch into her palm. Repede was just reaching for it, when it got cut in half.
"What on earth?" she said, shocked.
"You are too trusting Repede," Rao said.
Repede got into a defensive stance in surprise.
"Who are you?"
"You dumb fur ball. That's Ninetails, the one trying to kill Ammy," Issun said.
"Then why didn't you say something?"
"You were too busy being a good boy." Issun said angrily.
Rao chuckled before smiling evilly.
"Even though you are a good kisser, I'm afraid you have to die now."
She let out an evil laugh before disappearing in a cloud of black smoke. In her place stood a crow tengu. It let out a screech before drawing its samurai blade, eyes locked on Repede.
"What on earth is that?" Repede said.
"A very mean bird. Look out!" Issun said, holing on as Repede dodged the tengu's attacks.
He brought his dagger out and fought back as best as he could. He had never fought anything like this before, and it showed, as the tengu knocked the dagger out his mouth and slashed a gash over his right front leg, making him yip and fall to the floor.
"This isn't good," Repede said, gritting his teeth.
The tengu hovered over Repede, raising its sword. Repede looked on as it raised it sword and brought it down...only to be blocked by a tree bark sword with a flower on the tip.
"Not so fast vile fiend."
The tengu jumped back and took a stance as Susano stood over Repede.
"Instead of picking on a dog, try me, the great warrior Susano."
The tengu let out a caw and went on the attack. Amazingly, the once timid Susano turned into a knight, as he blocked, parried, and countered the bird-man's attacks. He had it in a rough spot as it looked tired.
"Time to finish you off with my special attack, The Susano Slice."
He held the tree bark sword at his side as it started to glow dimly.
"He--yah!" he shouted, and charged it.
He swung right through the tengu's sword and its body, cutting it in half as it dissolved into smoke. Susano turned and knelt down towards Repede.
"Are you okay doggie?"
Repede let out a woof and licked Susano's cheek, standing up with a grimace. Sakuya looked at his wound in worry.
"That wound is bad. You should rest."
"I can't. Not until Ammy gets what she needs."
"Very noble. But know your limits," Sakuya said, producing another peach.
Repede took it and hobbled down the hill towards the exit.
"You think you should be moving with your leg like that?" Issun asked.
"I'll worry about myself once Ammy get this."

Ninetails chuckled as she watched from Oni Island.
"Such a stubborn dog. But he's loyal, something I could use."

"Maybe I can change his mind once I dispose of Amaterasu. He is kind of delicious," she said, licking her lips.

"Amaterasu, how do you feel?" Fuse asked.
"Light headed. What happened?"
"You've been poisoned. But thanks to Repede, you're cured. You should rest some more."
"Yeah, that dumb mutt is something else," Issun added. "He managed to make it here on an injured leg."
Ammy looked at him before standing up weakly.
"He's been injured? Where is he?"
"I believe I saw him by the cherry blossom tree in Taka pass," Tei said.
"Why didn't he get his injury tended to?"
"He said your health was more important and it was his fault you got poisoned."
Ammy nodded her head before padding slowly to the exit.
"You need more rest fur ball."
"I'll be fine now. I'm going to check on Repede."
The moon was full in the night sky as she exited the village. She took a couple of sniffs in the air and picked up the faint smell of blood. Worried, she took off in a run towards the tree. Crickets chirped and owls hooted into the night sky. The tree came into view across a small wooden bridge. Sitting at the edge was Repede, looking into the clear night sky, his tail wagging slowly on the grass.
"I wonder how Yuri's doing? He's probably worried sick about me."
His ears perked when he heard the wooden bridge creak under somebody's weight. Looking over, he saw Ammy.
"Ammy, feeling bet........"

They walked down to the dock where Orca was waiting for them.
"Come, Otohime is waiting for you."
They hopped into the basket and headed for the Dragon Palace. Repede looked into the horizon to see Oni Island.
"That's disturbing to look at. It looks like it's alive." he said to himself.
They reached the Dragon Palace and went to the queen's chambers where Otohine was waiting for them.
"Ah sun goddess Amaterasu. I have been waiting for your return."
"Thank you Queen Otohime," Ammy said, bowing along with Repede. "How are you feeling?"

'Can we use your powers again to get us across?"
"Of course. Let us go to Watcher's Cape."
They headed out the palace and towards the cape. Otohime looked out at Oni island before holding the Dragon Orb up.
"Now with the power of the Dragon Orb, I will become the Water Dragon and be your bridge to destiny."
The orb flashed bright, covering Otohime in its glow. Repede watched this once beautiful queen turn into a towering dragon, making him yip in surprise.
"Wow, you don't see that everyday."
"Come on, let go," Ammy said, hopping onto the dragon's back and running towards the island.

Ninetails looked on with a smile as they entered her domain. An imp walked up and mumbled something.
"I can see that they are here."
She stood up and went to the back of the platform and sat back down.
"Let them enter. I will finish this once and for all."
The imp nodded and hurried off.
"That's right, come to me Amaterasu. And bring my new servant with you."

"We're almost to the top," Ammy said.
"Good," Repede responded, cutting through another imp.
After disposing the last imp, they made their way to the top where Ninetails was waiting.
"Welcome back Amaterasu. We've missed you," she said, as her tails seem to lash out for Ammy.
"It's over Ninetails This ends here and now," Ammy growled.
Ninetails chuckled before directing her red eyes to Repede.
"Repede. Why not join me? I can give you what you want."
"Forget it lady," Repede said.
"But we can make beautiful music together."
Her eyes started to glow softly, never breaking her gaze. Repede's good eye went wide before closing half way in a trance. His body moved on its own towards Ninetails
"Hey you dumb mutt, what are you doing?" Issun said.
Ninetails smiled as Repede bowed in front of her.
"Such a loyal dog," she cooed, tickling his chin with one of her tails. "Stay with me and all your dreams will be reality."
"Yes mistress."
"Good boy. For your first task, get rid of the sun god."
"As you wish."
Repede faced Ammy in a fighting stance.
"Repede what are you doing? It's me Ammy. Snap out of it."
"You must die now."
Repede flew at her with speed that shocked her, as he got her reflector in time to block his rapid attacks.
"Ammy what are you doing? Fight back," Issun said.
"I can't."
"If you don't, he'll kill you." Ammy did a back flip, gaining some distance from Repede as she panted.
"He moves so fast. Even Oki or the canine warriors can't move as fast as he does."
"Then you better do something quick. He's charging for something big,"Issun said as Repede began to glow.
Ammy looked at him with sad eyes.
"Forgive me for what I'm about to do Repede, but there is no other way," she said to herself.
Repede launched himself at full speed. She waited til he was close, then slow down time. Without a second thought, she launched him into the air using the whirlwind. While in the air, she struck him with the lighting bolt, making him yelp loudly as he fell to the floor, not moving.
"Repede!!" she said, rushing over.
"He's still breathing," Issun said, seeing his chest rise and fall slowly.
"Repede.......I'm so sorry."
Ninetails laughed evilly, making Ammy snarl angrily.
"You will pay," she snarled angrily as the Solar Flare reflector burned brightly over her back.
"Then let us dance the final dance." Ninetails growled holding her Kusunagi.

"I'm lost. I have no clue how this reacted," Rita said, throwing her hands up.
"Rita, you can't give up," Yuri said.
"Yuri, I've been at this for hours now. I have no clue what caused it to react or how to get it to react again."
Yuri balled his fists in frustration as Rita stood up.
"I'm sorry Yuri. Some things, even a genius like me can't figure out."
"You're right Rita. Thank you for trying as long as you did."

Yuri let out a defeated sigh before nodding. Rita headed for the exit as Yuri followed before looking back.

Lighting flashed in the sky as the sound of weapons clashing together resonated in the air. Ammy and Ninetails were going all out, weapon against weapon, brush technique against brush technique. Ninetails jumped backwards, avoiding three cherry bombs as she chuckled.
"I see you're getting tired."
Ammy was panting hard as she growled.
"She's still too strong. I don't know how much longer I can hold up without help," she said to herself as she managed to glimpse at Repede prone, lifeless body. "I hope I didn't hurt him too much."
"Ammy look out!" Issun yelled.
She looked up to see a line of fire heading towards her. She quickly put it out with the Deluge before launching one of her own at Ninetails
"Child's play," she chuckled, as she used the whirlwind to put it out. "Try my wind out for size."
She threw a large funnel towards Ammy, who countered with one of her own as they struggled for footing.
"I can feel you slipping," Ninetails growled.
Ammy whined as her paws began to slide back slowly.
"Come on Ammy, hang in there."
"It's......too strong."
"I have you," Ninetails barked, eyes glowing red causing an extra burst of power to cancel out Ammy's attack.
The funnel picked her up, spinning her in the air violently before dropping her with a sick thud knocking her breath away. She let out a weak whine and struggled to her feet.
"Oh how the mighty have fallen." Ninetails laughed as she walked up to her. "I guess it's time to put you down for good."
She raised her glaive as it charged with electricity. Ammy closed her eyes, regret in her heart.
"I have failed," she thought sadly.
An ear piercing howl made her yip in surprise, as Ninetails whined before looking back.
"How dare you."
Ammy looked behind Ninetails to see Repede holding one of her tails in his muzzle before spitting it out.
"Yuck, what a nasty flavor. Ever hear of shampoo?"
"I'll make you suffer for that dog."
Repede let out a yip as a snake like flame came out towards him. He moved quickly, running underneath, her own attack hitting her hard and burning her tails, making her yelp as she fanned her tails out. She let out a growl, striking the ground with her sword where Repede once stood.
"Hold still you blue mutt."
Ammy watched as Repede ran circles around her.
"Ammy, hit the sword with lighting just like like time," Issun said.
"Right."
Nine-tails let out a snarl as she hit nothing again. A yelp escaped her muzzled as Repede managed a deep cut on her right rear leg.
"He moves so quick. But I can fix that."
She used the time mist, causing Repede to move in slow motion.
"I have you now," she snarled, raising her glaive.
"Now Ammy."
Ammy lashed out with the thunderbolt, striking the glaive causing a massive jolt of electricity to surge through Nine-tails making he jerk wildly before separating into eight spirits.
"What happened?" Repede asked.
"Don't talk, kill," Ammy barked.
They attacked the spirits with vigor, dropping them all as Ninetails materialized. Now instead of having nine tails, she had only. She let out a snarl of anger at both of them.
"My, what makeup does cover up." Repede chuckled.
Ninetails no longer had the glowing white fur. Now she looked like a regular fox with scars over her body and one eye missing.
"I will not be defeated again. I will kill you both."
Ninetails charged them as they avoided her.
"Ammy, finish off this wanna be," Issun said.
"Right."
She slowed down time before unleashing a vicious combo with her reflector, knocking her to her side. She used the whirlwind to launch Ninetails into the air.
"Repede, do it."
She let out a howl, causing the moon to shine down on Repede as he glowed.
"Divine dog Savage."
He launched that massive flurry of attacks in the air before landing and grabbing his dagger, which glowed with power. With a growl, he lashed out as a moonlight blade cut right through Ninetails' body and she landed on the ground in two.
"It.......wasn't supposed.......to be this.........way," she whimpered as she twitched.
Ammy walked over to the upper half and looked at her.
"Curse you..........Amaterasu. I will........have my.........revenge. No matter........how long........it takes."
"Then I'll be waiting for you," Ammy growled, before setting her body on fire with the Fire burst.
Repede walked up and looked at it.
"Is it over?"
"Yes. Thanks to you."
Suddenly, the island started to shake violently, making them lose balance.
"Save the thanks for later. Let's get out of here before we go down with the ship," Issun said.
They hurried through the castle avoiding falling debris and cracks in the ground. Making it to the entrance, they looked down to see Orca waiting for them.
"Ladies first," Repede said, gesturing with his paw.
Ammy chuckled before jumping down, followed by Repede. Orca swam away as they watched Oni Island crumble into the sea.

They were in the Dragon Palace's spa room, where the dancers were still dancing around the pool.
"You really are something special mutt," Issun said.

Ammy laughed before nuzzling under his chin. Repede put a paw around her and held her close.
"I guess this is goodbye," she said softly.
"Will I ever see you again?"
"I'm always with you Repede. Just look into the sun and I will always be there."
Repede caressed her cheek, making her whine as she kissed him.
"I'll never forget you Ammy."
"Nor will I Repede."
She looked at the pool and used Nuregami's Fountain technique, creating a whirlpool. The whirlpool cleared to show Repede's home in the Lower Quarters.
"That's my home," Repede said, walking the pool's edge.
He gave Ammy another kiss and a lick on the cheek as she cuddled under his chin with a sniff.
"Goodbye Ammy."
"Goodbye Repede," she said, a tear in her eye.
He lifted his dagger and quickly caught the tear as it dried on his handle. With a smile, he jumped in and vanished, causing the pool to calm.
"Good job ma cherie," Waka said.
"What do you want you half bit prophet?" Issun said.
"I've come to take Amaterasu home. Are you ready?"
Ammy looked at the pool again before nodding her head.
"Yeah. I want to finish my nap."

"Yuri, you haven't eaten all day. You have to eat something,"Estelle said.
"Yeah Yuri. Repede wouldn't want to see you like this," Karol added.
Yuri let out a sigh as he sat on the window sill looking out.
"Yeah you're right."
"Great. I made some sandwiches," Estelle said cheerfully.
Yuri grabbed one and about to bite when he heard a familiar bark. He looked down to see Repede running towards the inn.
"Repede!!!" Yuri said happily as he jumped down.
Repede tackled him and licked him all over the face, making him laugh.
"Where have you been? Are you hurt?"
"Woof," Repede replied, nuzzling him.
"Ha ha, I shouldn't have been worried. You are the top dog after all."
"Yuri come eat. I'll make some extra ones for Repede," Estelle said from his room.
"Come on boy, you must be hungry. Wherever you went, I'm sure glad somebody was watching over you," Yuri said as he headed inside.
Repede looked into the sky and saw the sun in full glory. A sweet breeze rustled his fur as the scent of Ammy's tear made him smile.
"Yeah. I had a god watching over me. A beautiful god, I might add," he chuckled to himself before heading inside.
