Out Of The Fog Part 1 (Real)
Driving home near dusk, Clive felt sore. After his work out session had ended, his body ached and felt weak; giving him all the more reason to rush home. Clive looked forward to a warm shower and the feeling of crawling into his bed and drifting into a long snooze. Sleep was his version of bliss right now, and achieving it was all he wanted. His car ran smoothly down the road on the summit, and everything was still and peaceful for a foggy night. Only, the fog seemed to Clive to get more and more concentrated as he descended down the summit. The road ahead lost its original color and turned a deathly white and the white wall spread up towards the car. Eventually, road beyond 5 feet of him was not visible at all, swallowed by fog, and still it immerged to him. Clive's blissful thoughts trailed away as he worried about his visibility. His foot stepped harder on the break so he could go down the road at a safe pace. Only, before he even could have even seen it, a shadowy figure appeared in front of his hood. In an instant, a crushing sound was heard along with a muffled cry...
Clive had slammed the breaks after that and knocked himself unconscious on the steering wheel for lack of having his seatbelt on. The fox on the side walk tried to get back up, but collapsed back on the ground after only crawling up a foot or two towards the edge of the road. His chest rose and fell slowly with his heavy breathing. He cried in pain and in sadness as blood was coming from the sides of his mouth. "This was your entire fault!" the fox cried out again to himself making Clive immerge from his previous state with an aching headache. The fox stirred and turned his head slowly towards the car as the sound of a door opening was heard. Clive had slowly pushed the door open only to lose his balance and fall straight onto the cruel, cold pavement.
"Damn... what the hell happened?" Clive said, actually not sure of any of the events.
"I hate myself, just die" said the fox to himself again as he turned and looked at the sky. Clive looked over to the fox that looked as if he was struggling to hold on anymore. He got up shakily and approached the fox slowly due to his legs being so unstable.
"I- I... I'm sorry... here, let me help you to a hospital" said Clive holding out his hand towards the fox whole just looked at it and then back to the sky. He coughed and blood sprayed out.
"No. Let me die..." he said and closed his eyes before the tears could escape them.
"Why would I do that? Just let me help-, before he could finish, the fox swept his hand away with all his energy, then he collapsed back to the ground.
"I said, Let. Me. Die!" he rolled over and wept in extreme agony and coughed up even more blood.
"Never," said Clive as he forcefully grabbed the fox and hauled him over his should. He went and put him in his totaled car's passenger seat, not bothering to give him a seatbelt, and slammed the door as he staggered as fast as he could to the driver's seat and slammed the gas. As he headed towards the hospital, the fox slowly lost his consciousness and blacked out.
***Later, next day, 1:00 P.M***
Oliver, the fox, woke up with horrible pain everywhere, not just physically, but emotionally. He remembered the previous day's events in horror. Not only did his parents beat him for coming out as gay to them, but, he lost his boyfriend, and one of his best friends. It all made since to him now; the reason he woke up inside a hospital room was clear, he had tried to kill himself. He had deliberately walked out to the middle of the road to get hit by a car he heard passing down the hill that night as he was hitch hiking as far away from his town as possible.
After the already horrible experience with his parents, Oliver had gone to his boyfriend's house, whose name was Charlie, to find some comfort. Only, he found Charlie cheating on him with another guy in bed. That guy had turned out to be his best friend. Having so much heart break and so many traumatizing events happen to Oliver in such a short time, he decided his life was as good as over. But, it wasn't over because of that damn wolf that saved him. He buried his head in his pillow and began to cry again, his eyes burning now from shedding so many tears.
***Later, same day, 1:30 P.M***
"Thank god you are alive!" said Clive as he approached the side of Oliver's bed. "What is your name? I never got it?"
"It's Oliver, and you can fuck off."
"What the hell is that all about?"
"I told you to let me die. I have nothing to live for... I lost everyone close to me." He looked away from Clive towards the floor. "I see no point in existing anymore."
"Look, I wasn't going to let you die on me. I have a moral standing and I wasn't going to let you pass, making me feel responsible." He said looking into the fox's eyes.
"What have I done?" asked the fox to himself out loud. "Everyone I know hates me and has left me, and now you hate me to. I'm sorry..."
"Look... if anyone should be sorry it should be me for hitting you last night," he said and bent over and tried to hug Oliver. Oliver shied away at first, but then he let himself fall into the wolf's arms not able to help himself. They felt strong and supportive of his tender body.
As he was still being held, Oliver let everything out to the wolf at once, "I came out to my parents last night... then, I got kicked out of the house. So, feeling the need for some support, I went to my boyfriend's house just to find out he was cheating on me with my best friend. So, last night, I tried to kill myself. Because of that, I almost made you suffer heavily to. I'm so sorry," he finally said, regretting that he said he came out for fear that the wolf would hate him to.
"I remember coming out to..." said Clive softly into the fox's ear. Oliver looked up at him slowly.
"So you're?"
"Very," he said with a slight cocky smile.
"What a surprise," said Oliver with a playful voice. This wolf wasn't bad looking by any means. He was tall and he had black fur all over him. They were around the same age too. Maybe he and Oliver...
"Um... sorry to say this because I really do want to continue talking with you, but I have to leave now. Please rest up and get better. Here is my phone number," said Clive as he handed it to him, "and my address. Also, my name is Clive," he said winking.
"Can't wait to see you again..." said Oliver blushing as the wolf left the room.
"I really can't wait," he thought to himself smiling finally feeling like he had something to look forward to again in his seemingly horrible life.
