For those who have read from the beginning I am still less than half way through what I have to upload and then I have 4 pages of notes to continue the story. I am a slow typist as well as having a ton of things to keep me busy. I will add to this as i can get to it.

Otherwise enjoy the story and understand that my life was influenced by authors such as Terry Brooks, J.J.R. Tolkien, and Ray Bradbury and several of the artists in SoFurry and the old Yiffstar.

Chapter 14

I didn't sleep worth a damn, worrying about my sweet kitty and hoping that it was just her becoming a mother and not something else. She stopped shivering after what seemed like several hours and I heard her fall into a steady breathing pattern as she slept. She was still very close to me but she was relaxed now and that made me feel a little better.

I lay there watching the sun as it crept up to break the horizon. She moved then and I saw the signs that she was awakening.

She saw me looking at her as she opened her eyes, "you didn't sleep did you?"

"No my sweet, I was too worried about you."

She then said, "I am alright my love, just pregnant with our child. I'm going to put a note on the door for Herod saying not to disturb us so we can get some sleep. Continue with the construction but leave us in peace until we come out to see the work."

"That sounds like a good idea my sweet. I am extremely tired."

She wrote a note and put it on the door for whoever finds it to please not bother us. She then braced the door and came back to the bed and slid in and got in the spoon position with me and said, "Now get some sleep my love, I am alright and you need it."

"I hope you're right, now let's see what has been done today." I turned to Navaja and took her around the waste and walked the worksite. Everyone greeted us with smiles. I then turned to Herod, "we are going back to the house my friend, I'm still not quite rested up after being up all night and I am going to continue resting. I will see you and the others in the morning."

I asked, "How are Doreen and the kids? We haven't seen anything of them the past few days."

Herod said that they were fine, "with Doreen being pregnant as well they have had a bit more to do to get ready for the event so she and the children are doing all they can to get ready."

"Your house going to be big enough my friend?" I asked.

He laughed and said, "not really but Kantagin has said he would help me do an expansion to the house after we finish the office for Navaja here."

Navaja then asked, "Do you think she would mind if I go see her?"

Herod, replied, "Not at all, in fact she might enjoy it."

Navaja looked at me as if to ask if it would be alright.

"You don't have to ask me to go my sweets."

With that she left and headed towards Herds place.

I then smiled as I watched her walking away. Herod had a smirk on his face as she got out of hearing range.

"You truly have fallen for her haven't you?" Herod stated.

"You have no idea how much I love her. She has made me into a slave to her heart. What's so wonderful about it is she doesn't even know how beautiful she is, at least to me anyway."

He then burst into a chuckle and said through his laughter, "do you hear yourself? Is this the same man that two moons ago wanted to die? My friend you are indeed in love and I am very happy for you."

I then said, "I only hope I am able to help her when the children are born, as of now I can barely walk more than a few hundred feet by myself."

He looked at me and started to say something when he saw the look in my eyes and then said, "What are you about to undertake?"

"I'm going to force myself to walk the road to your place and back and increase the walk as much as I can it'll I am myself again."

He stared at me and said, "Are you sure you're up to it?"

"Whether I am or not, I'm going to do it. I want to be able to help her as much as I can."

He then said, "You be careful doing that, I'll keep my eye out for you to make sure you are alright."
