A Loving Heart of Stone
"Valastra... it's me. Are... are you here?"
Timori had been gone for two months, and with each day and night he had spent away from the woman he loved with all his heart, it had felt as though a dagger was slowly plunging itself deeper and deeper into his very soul. Her absence was agony. The lack of her voice, her laugh, her touch on the back of his neck, a torment the likes of which Timori had never imagined possible. And yet, it had all been worth it. Or at least, he hoped and believed that it would be worth it, given what he now possessed on his eventual return.
Silence rang out through the cave as the lupine knight's voice trailed off, and he waited. His heart thundered in his chest. His ears twitched and his tail whipped from side to side in nervous, desperate anticipation. And then... then he heard it. A soft hissing, and a slithering of scales upon rock. He turned his gaze down to the ground, closed his eyes tight, and smiled.
"I missed you, my love."
A soft, sinuous voice whispered back from the interior of the cavern, and though Timori's eyes were closed he heard the flaring of torches and soon felt the flickering warmth of fire emanating from within the cave, a wonderful contrast to the cool night air behind him.
"And I you, beloved. There were nights when the darkest recesses of my mind told me you had abandoned me. That your quest was nothing more than a reason for you to leave and extricate yourself from the complexities of our love. I am glad... so very glad, that I was wrong."
He heard the slithering getting closer. He felt a hand upon his left arm, and then the flickering touch of a forked tongue against his neck as Valastra slipped around behind him. Only then, when he felt her wrapping her arms around him to cuddle him from behind, did he open his eyes once more. He looked down and saw her smooth, green scaled hands wrapped around his chest, and blushed as even then in the first moments of their reunion he felt her lips on the back of his neck, and her fingers beginning to unbutton the front of his silken skirt.
"Did you do it? Did you find what you were looking for, Timori?"
Valastra hissed tenderly, hopefully to the man she loved, and he blindly reached up behind himself to seek out her face. He cupped her cheek, stroked her flawless scales, and lifted his hand higher until he felt it meet with the edge of the writhing, serpentine nest of snake-like hairs atop the gorgon's head.
"I did. I found them. The Lenses of the great Mage Arcinitus. Legend says that..."
His voice trailed off, and he gasped as the hands which had now finished unbuttoning his shirt sank lower, and began to fumble with the belt of his britches. Valistra nibbled and kissed at the back of his neck once again, and murmured longingly to her lover.
"I know what the legend says, my love. That they allowed the great Mage to look upon cursed writings which killed any other person who read so much as a word. That they will allow their wearer to look upon any sight no matter how cursed or impossible to behold without harm. For a time, at least. But... I still worry. I still fear what might happen if they do not work."
Timori chuckled, and though he made no attempt to slip free from his lover's grasp he gestured to the bag resting at his feet.
"That's why I also tracked down the foremost alchemist in the nine kingdoms, and got him to produce some antidotes for me. They will reverse petrification of any degree, so long as they are poured over the afflicted individual within a day of the petrification beginning."
The wolf grinned as he felt the arms around him tighten in uncontrollable joy, squeezing him close with unabashed adoration. He stroked Valistra's arms, and lifted one to his face, kissing the back of her hand, then the palm, then each finger in turn.
"Before we make use of what I travelled so long and so far to find, though... Valistra, I... I missed you. Can we sit a while? Talk? Catch up? I want to take advantage of this new opportunity we have, of course, but... by the gods, I've loved you for three years without ever setting eyes upon you, and whether or not I will get to do so for the first time later today, it's hearing your voice that I've missed. Feeling your hands in mine, and just sitting with you, being with you that I've longed for these past two months."
Valistra's forked tongue flicked out against the back of the wolf's neck once more, and her free hand boldly, shamelessly slid down beyond his unbuckled belt to caress the front of his britches, already somewhat swollen by the intimacy of their reunion thus far. The gorgon hissed playfully, lustily to her lover, and slipped her other hand's fingers through the wolf's own.
"I'd like that very much, beloved. Lead the way. Guide me to our bedchamber, and we can sit a while. Talk. Share what we have seen, done and felt these past months of solitude. And then, when all words that need to be spoken have been... we shall let our bodies share whatever feelings remain to be expressed, after two long months without sharing them together."
Red faced and intensely aware of the tent in his britches, Timori nodded, swallowed thickly and did as his lover had suggested. He led the way as he always did when they walked hand in hand, feeling her fingers gently holding onto his own, hearing her slithering along behind him into the ornately carved interior of the cave which stood illuminated purely for his benefit, Valistra more than capable of seeing in even pitch darkness. He kept his eyes forward as always, and even as they reached the bed and settled down together, he closed his eyes until they were in what had become their standard position for sitting and spending time together. They sat back to back upon the bed, hands reaching behind themselves to touch, to caress, to fondle and embrace as best they could, but not once as they spoke of how much they had missed one another and shared stories of the last couple of months did they even fractionally turn their heads towards one another.
Earlier on in their relationship of course, Timori had been tempted. He had been stupid and reckless, and on more than one occasion in years gone by he recalled catching sight of a flickering mass of snake-like tendrils before Valistra grabbed him roughly by the hair and almost broke his neck in her frantic attempts to make him look away. They had found ways around it of course. Blindfolding Timori tightly so that they could kiss. Covering his face with a hood and extinguishing every torch in the cave so that they could explore one another's bodies, pleasure one another and embrace without having to keep their heads turned in opposite directions. They had come up with a thousand ways to make their relationship work, and their love for one another blossom despite the fact that they had never seen one another face to face.
But as they spoke now, as they held hands and smiled and laughed and remembered all over again just how deeply in love they were and how intensely they had missed just being together like this, there was a tension which they had never felt before. An awareness that there was still something they had yet to share, and which now for the first time there was an actual opportunity for them to experience together. Their every avenue of conversation was overshadowed by the weight of that bag sitting on the bed just beside the two of them, and finally it was Valistra herself who took advantage of a moment of intimate, bashful silence to address it directly.
"Now that you are back, and that you have the Lenses, and the antidotes at your disposal... w-would it be very selfish of me, very shameless, to... to ask if we might use it for the first time while we... reunite. Share in one another, as our bodies have not been able to for two months now?"
Timori stiffened, and closed his eyes as he felt the gorgon's back pull away from his own. Sure enough, mere moments later he felt her arms around him once again from behind. He felt his already open fronted shirt being finally teased entirely off, and he felt her bare breasts pressing against his back as she ran her fingers through his lush, deep grey fur.
"Would you make love to me tonight, Timori... and... and look me in the eye as you do so, as no man, no being has ever done before?"
He felt the gorgon shudder as without a word of response he reached for his bag, and pulled a small leather case from within. He could feel her breathing on the back of his neck, feel her eyes peering over his shoulder as blindly, still with his eyes tightly shut he fumbled for the clasp of the leather case and opened it up, revealing what he knew to be two pearlescent, wafer thin glass lenses bound with powerful magical enchantments upon them, resting within two tiny reservoirs of a shimmering silvery fluid.
"I'm gonna open my eyes now. I... I hope this will be the last time I have to say this for tonight, but... could you look away please, my love?"
Timori felt the gorgon turn away once more, and he opened his eyes so that he could actually put the lenses on. It only took thirty seconds or so, the male whining softly as he tried to deal with the still intensely weird sensation of putting something directly onto the surface of his eyes and blinking several times in rapid succession as with a tingle of magical energy they melded seamlessly in over his eyes from edge to edge so they could not slip or be jostled aside. Somehow though that half a minute felt like an eternity, and yet it was nothing compared to what followed immediately afterwards. Nothing compared to the length of time it felt like it took Timori to raise his head, to lift himself up from the bed, and to turn around on the spot as he spoke more soft, pleading words to the woman of his dreams.
"Valistra. I... I'm going to look at you now. Please. Look at me too. Don't close your eyes. Don't try to hide your face. Don't turn away."
He had to fight every instinct he'd developed over the last three years not to do any of that himself as he turned around to where he knew the gorgon's body was resting. He had to maintain a constant, conscious effort to keep his eyes from clamping shut, and to keep his arms by his sides rather than flinging them over his face as he saw Valistra slowly beginning to turn too.
She hissed in fearful longing.
He whined in anxious desperation.
He saw clenched, scaled hands balled up into fists. He saw a serpentine body at least nine feet long from tail-tip to shoulders, with a humanoid torso which bore lithe, beautiful arms and the most perfect, bountiful breasts. He saw a neck not quite as long as he'd expected it to be relative to the rest of her serpent-like body, and then...
Their eyes met.
They looked.
They stared. Terrified just moments ago, but now helplessly unable to look away.
Valistra saw the wolf's features flickering in the torchlight of the well lit bedchamber, rugged, handsome, several pale scars visible through slight patches in his fur, marks of prior adventures before he had met her, and a couple gained in defending her from others who thought she was some monstrosity to be slain.
And of course, he saw her. A smooth, sleek snake's features with a curved muzzle twisted into a joyous smile, fangs bared and glistening. Eyes of a stony grey, of course, but which shone with emotion and brimmed over with tears that ran down her beautiful cheeks. Upon the top of her head a nest of smaller serpents ceased their normal writhing, and they stared too as Timori regarded them en-masse, never having been witnessed for more than a moment before without turning whoever did so to a frozen, eternally bound statue of cursed stone.
They stared, unmoving for almost a minute, before Timori spoke once again.
"It's funny... all these years afraid of turning to stone if I so much as glanced at you, and... now I can finally look? I wouldn't care if I was never able to move again, so long as I have this beautiful sight in front of me for the rest of time."
Valistra laughed, a strained, sobbing burst of pure joy and overwhelmed rapture, and a few moments later she was wailing in delight as Timori surged forward, flung his arms around her face to face, eye to eye, and kissed her deeply as their eyes continued to bore hungrily into one another.
They tumbled back to the bed, a writhing, entwined mass of arms, legs and vast serpentine tail. They hissed and whimpered. They gasped, moaned, kissed and explored with hands and lips and eyes. They saw all the things they had touched so many times before, and they watched one another's reactions, they observed gleefully the joyous expressions on their lover's face as they admired one another's bodies not just as belonging to the creature they loved, but as a visually pleasant, physically appealing form in its own right.
"You're beautiful..."
Timori whined as he licked Valistra's face while she dragged his britches down and off his legs at long last.
"You're gorgeous!"
He growled as he rolled over to lie atop the gorgon, running his hands through her snake-like curls and feeling their tiny forked tongues lick and tease at each individual digit with the same longing burning in their mistress' eyes.
Valistra closed her eyes in ecstasy as she felt her lover press into her, but her cheeks flushed beneath their scales as moments later his voice whispered to her. Begging, pleading.
"Open. Keep them... open..."
Her eyes fluttered open once more, and she wailed as she saw him staring wide eyed, feverishly down at her as his hips began to pump as he began to make love to her while meeting her gaze with unflinching adoration.
"I need you to see how much I love you..."
Timori growled to the gorgon as his cock pressed into the warm, damp slit hidden away at the very base of her tail, the slit he had explored with fingers and tongue and cock many a time before now, but always blindly. Always without seeing the bliss that his touch, his love-making wrought upon the face of the incredible woman to whom this body belonged. His tongue lolled out, he panted heavily, and his eyes shone as the magical lenses covering them filtered out the potent, innate magic locked away within the gorgon's physiology.
"I need you to see how much I need you!"
He huffed and gasped as he made love to her with a reckless abandon they had never been able to share before, always having to keep half their minds on ensuring that they couldn't slip up and somehow end up looking at one another.
"I never want to look away. I... I never want to lose sight of you again, my love."
The wolf gasped passionately to the woman he adored, and as she felt herself being carried hurriedly towards orgasm by his thrusts, his words, and his magically flickering eyes staring so adoringly, so fearlessly down at her, she cried out feverishly in return.
"Never! Never stop, beloved! Oh. Oohhh, Timori. Watch me. I... I'm going to... oohhh yesssss! Yes. Beloved, I'm... watch me cum. Please. See it! S-see how much I need you too. See what you do to me! Hold me. Fuck me. O-oh god. Watch me cum for you, Timori! Aaaahhh, yesssssss!"
Their bodies writhed upon the bed, Valistra losing control first but Timori's own body succumbing soon after as he felt her spasm and clutch around him, and more importantly watched her face contort with pure pleasure and joy. They clung to one another and continued to make love with all the strength and urgency they could muster, pushing one another's bodies to the limits in order to spend just a few more seconds observing their lover lost in the throes of shared orgasmic bliss.
It was in the wake of their passion however, as they collapsed against one another trembling, panting and hissing softly in overwhelmed fatigue, that they saw the most incredible sights of all. To see their lover's face for the first time, to look their partner in the eye for the first time might have been a moment they would never forget, and to see their partner's features contorting in pleasure and rising to the pinnacle of all physical rapture may well have been a dream come true. But, to see the peace, the satisfaction, and the sweet, adoring, grateful smiles that spread over one another's muzzles as they cuddled in the wake of that wild bout of mutually overflowing and long restrained passions, never had either Valistra or Timori experienced such pure and perfect joy.
They looked one another in the eye, and said nothing. They just smiled, and blushed, and cuddled up against one another in perfect silence.
Normally after they made love, they would tell one another just how deeply and desperately they loved them.
Normally after they made love, they would whisper and whimper and go to such great lengths to even attempt to put their feelings into words.
But now, they said it all with a single look. With a rosy cheeked, weary, satisfied smile they shared everything they needed their lover to know, and thus their muzzles were left free to sink into another deep, lengthy kiss, while their eyes continued to speak volumes on their behalf.
