Diamond in the Rough
Sometimes it takes an unexpected change to reveal just where someone's true priorities lie.
Diana's tail twitched nervously as the limousine pulled up to the curb outside her apartment. The very sight of the luxury vehicle made her fur prickle, but she swallowed her fears and climbed into the car, nearly spilling her folder of papers as the car pulled away.
"Morning darling. Feeling nervous?"
"Huh?" She snapped her attention to the well dressed fennec sitting across from her, looking as cool and collected as always. "Oh, no Mistress. Well, maybe a little. Though it could just be more morning sickness."
"Well relax, darling. I've got everything you need covered. No one messes with a member of my family without facing my very influential wrath."
"I really can't thank you enough for this, Mistress. I thought I could take care of this myself, but once they started pushing legal action I just..." Diana's voice caught in her throat, the wolf fighting back a sob. "I'm sorry. I just never thought... It'd go this far."
"Diana, I've got your back." Vanessa Thema assured her. "I won't let them get the best of one of my girls. And that's why I've gotten you the best lawyer available." She gestured to the German Shepherd sitting beside her. "Miss Irons specializes in women's rights and advocacy cases. There's no one better to defend you and your rights. And the rights of your child."
"Thank you. I just... I don't know what to do."
"You're actually in a better position than you think." Miss Irons said, offering a warm smile. "But to offer you this best defense I can, I'll need to know a bit more about the situation."
"Okay, "Dianna nodded, "what do you need to know?"
"Everything. Anything you think may be relevant, and probably a few things that don't. Even the smallest details may prove to be immensely important. I recommend just starting at the beginning and we'll go from there."
"Alright, from the beginning." Diana took a deep breath, steadying her nerves as best she could. "Well, as far as I can tell, this all started a couple months ago..."
"Just like that, Richard. Oh, you're so deep... Ow! Easy! Take it easy."
"Sorry, you're just so tight, it's hard to hold back."
Diana couldn't help but chuckle, smiling and moaning softly as Richard held her close from behind. The wolf felt safe in the large dragon's ams, warm and secure while he held tight against her body. And she felt especially warm with his cocks buried so deep inside her.
"I know I'm good, babe. Oh, but you have to take it easy back there."
"Not used to taking it in the... backdoor?"
"No!" Diana lied, hiding a smirk. "Fuck, especially not with your other cock in my pussy."
"I... mff... must be a really lucky guy then." Richard grinned, his hips slapping against her ass as his pair of dragon cocks slid in and out of her ass and spade. "Only took what, four months?"
"Gonna be another four months if you get a big head about it." Diana grinned back at him, her own hips thrusting back eagerly, despite her teasing. "You're only getting it, unf, because you're so handsome. And those cocks feel so good, ah fuck!"
"Then I better enjoy this as much as I can, while I can."
Richard hugged his lover tighter, growling as his thrusts grew more forceful. Diana gasped, the sudden assault on her holes catching her off guard. The dragon's talons dug into the bed. His leathery wings spread wide as he rolled the smaller woman beneath him, mounting her and continuing to breed her holes.
"Fuck!" Diana clung to his arms as she was pressed under his weight, her holes stretched wide by Richard's twin shafts. "Richard! Fuck! Not so... Oh fuck yes!"
Her toes curled tight and a growl escaped through her teeth as she tried to buck her ass up into his thrusts. She could feel the spines on his dicks growing with each thrust, digging into her sensitive folds. Feeling it in both her ass and pussy was driving her wilder than she'd ever admit. "Oh fuck, harder! Give it to me! Fuckin' do it!"
Richard growled in response, more than happy to oblige. His thrusts grew more aggressive, the headboard slamming against the wall as he slammed into Diana. Her howls of pleasure mixed with feral roars. The wolf's body tightening up as she careened over the edge, her eyes rolling up in her head and her pussy and ass squeezing even tighter around Richard's cocks.
Richard let out a room shaking roar, burying Diana in the mattress to push in as deep as he possibly could. His cocks pulsed within her convulsing holes. The dragon's body continued to buck as he came. Diana was helpless beneath his body in the throws of her own orgasm.
"Oh fuck, that was amazing." Richard gasped, catching his breath as he rolled off of Diana. "Two at once is so... damn, just so overwhelming."
"Yeah...overwhelming..." Diana gasped, still waiting for the stars to clear from her vision. "Next time... I'm on top. Fuck."
"Sorry." Richard chuckled as he dropped an arm over the woman. "I may have gotten a little carried away. You alright?"
"Yeah, just feeling a bit... stretched out."
"Suppose that's my fault, huh?"
"You can make it up to me by holding me for a while." She sighed warmly as she curled up into his arms. "Hold me tight, keep me warm, make me feel... wet? Why do I feel so wet? Didn't you wear condoms?"
"Yeah, of course I... oh shit."
"Don't tell me..." Diana couldn't help but scowl as she reached between her legs to find a slippery mess of dragon cum coating her fur. "Dammit Richard..."
"Sorry!" Richard groaned as he leaned back, pulling scraps of torn latex off one of his cocks. "They just don't make these tough enough for dragons."
"Maybe if you bought the ones made for dragons..." Diana muttered as she wiped some of the cum from her thighs. "Whatever, With how many you've broken, if something was going to happen it would have already. Mess is still annoying though."
She rose from the bed, stretching out her limbs as Richard's seed drooled from her holes and down her thighs. "Well, I am in need of a nice, hot shower after that. Care to join me?"
"Of course." Richard couldn't help but lick his lips, eyes glued to the wolf's curvy hips. "A very intimate shower. Oh, but I have a meeting at seven tomorrow morning. Crap."
"So no intimate shower then, hot stuff." Diana teased. "And I guess no cuddling afterwards either."
"You can spend the night of course." The dragon wrapped his arms and wings around her. "We can cuddle all night, so long as you don't mind getting up early."
"Oh honey, I'm sure I'll sleep right through it. Now let's get cleaned up and ready for bed."
"Goodness. That was a bit more graphic than I was expecting."
"Sorry." Diana chuckled despite herself, noting the deep blush tinting the canine's muzzle. "But you did say to go over everything."
"I'm honestly a bit jealous." Vanessa admitted, not the least bit visibly phased by Diana's story. "I'm already imagining the sort of fun I'd have with a man equipped with two dicks. Double the pleasure indeed."
"It certainly sounds interesting." Miss Irons admitted. "But, perhaps a topic for another time. Miss Volkov, I assume you believe this is the evening you became pregnant?"
"I think? By the time I found out I was pregnant, my doctor estimated I was already about a month in. If that's accurate, then that night is most likely the night. Not exactly the most romantic of evenings..."
"Okay, so let's just proceed with that being the night of conception. How long afterwards did you first discover you were pregnant?"
"About a month later." Diana admitted with a confident nod. "I remember that night was the first time we made love after my last cycle, which was why we were so eager that night."
"And if I may ask, why didn't you take any sort of backup contraceptive after noticing the condom broke?"
Diana shrugged. "Honestly, I genuinely didn't think I, a wolf, could get knocked up by a dragon. The first time he ripped up a condom, I did take a backup. But they're not exactly cheap and I took a couple chances. I guess I just got overconfident."
"And did he ever encourage you to take any sort of backup?"
"Not once. And the condoms were his in the first place. Despite knowing he ripped through them, he would never buy anything stronger."
Miss Irons nodded, writing down a few notes. "So, how did you first discover you were pregnant? Was it a missed cycle?"
"Actually, it was Domino who first put the thought in my mind."
"Domino?"
"Another of my dancers." Vanessa took the liberty of explaining. "She announced some time ago that she and her husband were pregnant. Though they were trying for a baby. That was a little over a month ago, wasn't it?"
"Yeah." Diana sighed, rubbing her slightly enlarged stomach. "I guess I beat her in that, too. I had been feeling nauseous for a couple days before that, but didn't even think I might be pregnant until she made her announcement. Got a pregnancy test on the way home that night, which of course was positive."
"And then, I assume, you saw your doctor to confirm?"
Diana nodded, letting out a defeated snort.
Miss Irons took a few more notes as the limo made its way through the city. "Okay, and once you confirmed you were pregnant did you tell Mr. Devlin right away?"
"Not... right away." She admitted. "I actually went to my parents first. I was so out of sorts, I just needed the emotional support. It was probably about a week later when I finally told Richard. Though, looking back, perhaps I should have told him sooner. Turns out my timing couldn't have been worse..."
"Diana! My Diamond!" Richard took the woman in his arms the moment he opened his apartment door, kissing her deeply before she could say a word. "I have amazing, exciting news! Come in, we have to celebrate!"
"Hold on. Richard!"
He wasn't listening, she realized, as she was practically dragged into his living room. "Richard, I have to tell you something too. And it's important."
"We need champagne!" The dragon continued, far more animated than she'd ever seen him. "Yes, I know just the one!"
"Talk about self absorbed." Diana frowned as she sat impatiently on his couch. "Whatever he has to say better be really damn important."
"Here we go!" Richard returned with two glasses of champagne and an impossibly wide grin. "This is the start, Babe. The start of greatness."
"Okay, so what's the big news?" She asked, taking the glass but resisting the urge to drink. "He won't listen until he gets this big surprise over with."
"Alright. So today I officially received an endorsement... to be on the next ballot!"
Diana stared back at his excited grin for a moment, before realizing she should respond. "Oh! That's great! Ballot for what?"
"For the state senate in the next election!" The dragon replied, unphased by her momentary silence. "I'll be on the ballot! People will be able to vote for me, elect me to be a state legislator!"
"Wow, that is exciting. Congratulations, Babe." The wolf forced a smile, wanting even more to gulp down the alcohol in her hands. "So, would you have to move to Washington for that?"
"Oh, no no." Richard chuckled with a shake of his head. "This is just at the state level for now, not the federal Senate in D.C. But, this is the first step in that very direction! If I do well in the state legislature I may be able to move on to governor! And from there, the sky's the limit!"
"I'm very excited for you!" Diana forced an enthusiastic grin, trying to make it look like she truly felt that way. "Your career is really taking off."
"And I plan to push all the way to the presidency. And, I would love to have you by my side the whole way."
"That's... very flattering." Diana blushed a bit as Richard took her hand in his, smiling so sincerely. "I'm sure you'll make it all the way."
"Yes, we will."
They stared at each other in silence for a moment, Diana's thoughts bouncing too wildly for her to get any words out. "He wants me to go with him, all the way to the White House?"
"I'm sorry." Richard said suddenly, snapping Diana from her thoughts. "You had news to share as well. In all my excitement I almost forgot. Go on, Babe, tell me your good news, too."
"Never said it was good news."
Diana took a deep breath, placing her still full glass on the coffee table before turning to look Richard straight in his eyes. "Might as well just be out with it."
"Richard... I'm pregnant."
It was the dragon's turn to smile and stare blankly, the news rending him momentarily speechless.
"Richard?"
"I'm sorry." He chuckled nervously. "You're, uh, you're what?"
"Pregnant, Richard." She reiterated impatiently. "I am pregnant. With your child."
Richard's smile faded after that, the pale scaled dragon leaning back into the couch with a heavy breath. "Wow... But, how?"
"Oh, I don't know. You think it may have been one of the many times the condom broke? Think that might be it?" She glared at him, unable to hold back her sarcasm.
"Yeah, uh, yeah that makes sense. Wow..."
"Wow!?" Diana snorted, leaping from her seat. "I tell you I'm pregnant, with your kid, and all you have to say is wow!?"
"I'm sorry, I'm just a little dumbstruck here." Richard countered. "This is really big, and you caught me completely off guard. At least give me a chance to... to process this."
"You're right, you're right." Diana conceded with a groan. "I'm just really stressed out right now."
"Have a drink, it may calm your nerves."
"I can't, because I'm pregnant." She growled in frustration. "No alcohol and no smoking. Which really isn't helping."
"Right, sorry."
Richard sighed as Diana paced about the living room, downing the last of his champagne then the entirety of her glass in one gulp.
"Okay, what do we do now?"
"I was actually hoping you'd have some ideas." Diana admitted, collapsing back onto the couch beside him. "Because I have no fucking clue."
"Should we... get married?"
"God, I don't want to just get married because you got me pregnant." Diana admitted. "It feels so insincere. We haven't even talked about marriage yet."
"Yeah, but it might look better if we were, y'know?"
"Look better to who?"
"Family, friends... constituents." He explained with a shrug. "Perspective voters."
"Voters? I'm pregnant and you're worried about how this might affect your election!?"
"I... well, yeah a little. You aren't worried about your job?"
"No. I get maternity leave." Diana couldn't help but glare at the man. "What about us, Richard? What about our future, with this child? Isn't that more important right now than some election you might be in?"
Richard let out a low breath, rubbing his face with his hands. "Yeah, it's very important. And you're very important to me, my Diamond. All of this is important, and I just... we need time to figure this out. I need time to think."
"You need time to think?" Diana scoffed. "You want time to think?"
"How long have you known about this?" Richard asked. "That you're pregnant?"
"About a week, I guess."
"So you have had a week to process this. To think about it and what to do. I've just found out, and I'm still in shock, honestly. At least give it a chance to sink in."
"Okay, I... guess that's fair." Diana sighed. "Damn, you're gonna make one hell of a politician someday."
"Hopefully, and maybe even a pretty decent father?"
"I guess we'll find out." Diana smirked despite herself, leaning over to rest her head on Richard's shoulder. "Can I stay here tonight? I don't want to be alone tonight."
"Of course, my Diamond." Richard said, holding her close. "I would never leave your side when you need me."
"That's really cheesy, Babe." Diana chuckled, finally managing a smile. "But thank you."
"Of course. I love you, Diana."
"I love you too, Richard."
The dragon wrapped an arm and a wing around her, hugging her close as they shared a quiet moment.
"Um, would you excuse me a moment, love? I'd like to put the champagne away. Maybe get you something non-alcoholic."
"Water would be nice." Diana smiled warmly as he gave her a kiss then stepped out of the room, though she suddenly felt very lonely the moment he was gone. Especially when it seemed to be taking quite a while to get a glass of water.
"Richard?" Quietly, she got up and made her way towards his kitchen. She was about to call out again when she heard the man talking, on his phone apparently.
"Yeah... I know, but... Are you sure?... Well, I can ask... I know, I know... I'll mention it, okay? Just... okay, yeah, good night."
"Richard?" She called out again once he hung up. "Who were you talking to?"
"Huh? Oh, Diana! Um, no one. Just... work stuff. Trying to get me to come into the office early tomorrow. But, uh, I told them I was unavailable. My beautiful girlfriend needs me."
"Smooth." She muttered, staring him down. "No more phone calls tonight, okay?"
"Absolutely." He agreed, finally filling her a glass of water. "I was thinking, though, there is an option we could take that'd make all this much simpler."
"Heh, hard to believe. But if you have any ideas I am all ears."
"Well, we could always, uh... terminate?"
Diana's ears flattened instinctively, a hand going to her stomach at the very thought. "Yeah mean, get an abortion?"
"Well, yes." Richard explained. "Having a child is a life changing affair. If we, uh, decide we're not ready for that yet, an abortion may be the, uh, better choice... for us."
"I..." Diana's mind raced for a moment, a pit forming in her stomach at the very thought. "I don't... No. No, I can't do that."
"Diana..."
"I can't, Richard." She insisted. "That just feels wrong to me. I don't think I could, no, I know I can't do that. No abortion."
"Diana, it's not really alive yet." Richard tried to explain. "Just some cells at this point."
"That's not the point." She countered. "I don't know if it's alive or not, but for me it feels wrong. I can't do that."
"Well, I must admit, I'm a bit surprised you're not pro-choice on this."
"That's not what this is about!" She snapped. "This isn't some political stance. This is how I feel, right now. I'm carrying this child, and my heart tells me I can't just.. I can't!"
"But what about the life we have now?" Richard argued. "We've been having a great time, been getting real close. Having a baby now is just too soon. We're not ready yet."
"Well we have less than nine months to get ready." Diana insisted. "Because I am not getting an abortion."
"Diana, sometimes we have to think with our heads, not our hearts."
"Oh shut up! This is not a political debate! This is our child, Richard!"
"This is our life, right now. Can we handle the stress of having a baby? The finances? The... lack of sleep?"
"I don't know!" She admitted. "But it feels really selfish of me to term this baby just to make life easier for myself!"
"Easier for us. And maybe better for us. My career is just getting started. I can't divide my time between that and a newborn now. And who knows where your job might go. It's just too risky. I think this may be the better, long term option."
Diana sighed, tears forming in the corner of her icy blue eyes. "I'm sorry Richard. I just can't. The very thought makes me feel so sick. I can't do it."
Richard let out a breath and rubbed his face. "Okay, what about adoption then? You have the baby, but put it up for adoption, for a couple who can't have a kid."
"I don't know." she muttered, wiping away a few tears. "I can't think about this anymore though. I just... I need to go home."
"Home? I thought you wanted to spend the night?"
"Not anymore." She said. "I'm sorry Richard. I just want to me on my own tonight. I'll call you soon."
"Okay. I love you, my Diamond. We'll figure this out."
"Yeah, sure. Love you too."
The limo continued on silently for a moment as the women gave Diana a moment to collect herself after the emotional story.
"I'm sorry." she muttered, wiping a stray tear from her eye. "I didn't expect the night to go well, but I never thought..."
"It's okay." Vanessa consoled her and placed a supportive hand on the wolf's knee. "You're not alone on this, not at all."
"Thank you." Diana offered a sad smile. "I just want this to be over with, honestly."
"We'll get through it quick." Miss Irons promised. "And you've given me a lot to work with. I am especially interested in that call he took. Very suspicious. And, have they presented you with any supposedly legal paperwork or documents?"
"Yes. They sent me these." She handed the folder to the attorney. "I've read through it a few times but I'm not sure I understand it all."
"Looks like a lot of legal posturing and empty threats." Irons muttered as she flipped through the documents. "They're trying to scare you. Don't let them."
"But, they're threatening to sue-"
"They won't."
"How can you be sure?" Vanessa asked. "If they want this to really happen, wouldn't they go through with a lawsuit?"
"Not in this case." Miss Irons assured them. "Mr. Devlin plans to run for public office, correct?"
"Yeah, he's talked about being mayor or governor someday."
"But he'll have a hard time of it if it gets out he impregnated a sex worker out of wedlock."
"That's probably why he's pulling this shit..."
"Well, how do you think the public will react when they found out he took the mother to court to force her to terminate against her wishes?"
Diana shared a look with Vanessa, a hopeful smile spreading across her muzzle. "They couldn't keep it quiet?"
"Court cases are a matter of public record." Irons replied. "It's be political suicide even if they won in court, which is unlikely anyway. Judges tend to side with the mothers in such cases."
"But then why threaten the lawsuit?"
"To intimidate her into arbitration, which they can keep quiet with N.D.A.s. They'll convince you it's better to settle this out of court, and bully you to agree to their terms. But I won't let that happen. If you want to keep your child, I promise I will fight tooth and nail to make it happen."
"Thank you, Miss Irons." Diana said, her tears more hopeful now. "You don't know what this means to me."
"Think nothing of it. Just remember to show no weakness and follow my lead, and I'll get you through this."
The car pulled to a stop and the driver let Diana and Miss Irons out at their destination.
"You're not coming, Mistress?"
"No, this isn't really my battle. Don't worry, you're in good hands with Miss Irons. Knock 'em dead. Fight to win. I know you've got this."
Diana clenched her fists as the limo drove off. She mustered her resolve and gave the attorney a nod before heading into the office building.
"So I have to ask," Irons mused as they stepped onto the elevator. "What's the deal with the 'mistress' thing?"
"Oh, that's what she prefers we call her at work." Diana explained. "She prefers us all to call her that over Miss Thema, or Boss. I think it's a dominatrix thing."
"Huh. Maybe I should consider moonlighting in the sex industry."
They shared a laugh, but the mirth was short lived. Diana's anxiety rose dramatically in the short walk from the elevator to the conference room. And seeing Richard had her on the verge of tears once more, though she did her best to hold it back.
"Good morning, Mr. Devlin." Miss Irons spoke up which Diana quietly thanked her for. "And Mr. Goodman, a pleasure as always."
"Miss Irons." The gecko in a well fitting suit sneered. "What brings you here, may I ask?"
"I'll be representing Miss Volkov and her interests in this case." She sat down at the table, Diana sitting beside her. "Let's get down to business, shall we?"
"Certainly." A confident grin spread across the reptile's face, one that sent a chill down Diana's spine. "Simply put, Mr. Devlin wishes to exercise his rights as the child's father to terminate the pregnancy. As soon as possible, preferably."
"Well, unfortunately for Mr. Devlin, Miss Volkov wishes to exercise her rights as the mother to carry the child to term and raise the child as her own."
"Unfortunate indeed." Goodman agreed. "Because it would be a shame to have to drag this young woman through a lengthy and expensive court battle over this. Wouldn't it be much easier to settle this here and now?"
"It would, but you and your client seem insistent on forcing her to do this against her will and wishes. So, if you really want to push this, we'll see you in court. Just be prepared to take a paternity test."
"Paternity test?" The reptile scoffed. "Are you doubting that Mr. Devlin is the father now?"
"Oh, he's the father all right." Diana muttered as Miss Irons put a hand on her arm to keep her calm.
"A judge will want to see a paternity test." She explained. "Especially if you are going to assert that he has rights as the father. So if you're certain of this I will put in the paperwork and file the official request for the test, and then we'll see you gentlemen in court."
"Wait!" Richard leapt from his seat as the women prepared to leave. "I mean, you're just going to give up and go to court, just like that?"
"Certainly." Miss Irons replied with a grin. "I'm very confident of our chances in court."
"Jimmy!" The dragon muttered to his lawyer. "Do something!"
"Relax." The lizard smirked, adjusting his tie. "Let's not be too hasty now, Miss Irons. Court should be our last option. I'm sure if we work together, we can come to terms agreeable to both parties."
"That would be wonderful." Miss Irons agreed with a smile. "Now, let's get down to some real work."
The next few hours felt like a blur to Diana. The attorneys did almost all of the talking, sometimes faster than the woman could keep up with. Luckily Miss Irons was more than happy to answer all of her questions and made no decisions without her approval. Diana stoically held it together through the whole process despite how much it had drained on her emotions. She couldn't help but notice that Richard offered little in his own defense and had sat quietly while Mr. Goodman made all the decisions for him.
"Well, I think we've finally found a compromise." Miss Irons said after several hours of negotiating. "To summarize; Miss Volkov will keep her child, through to term and beyond. Mr. Delvin will not have direct involvement with Miss Volkov or the child, and neither party will acknowledge to anyone that Mr. Devlin is the biological father."
"Correct. And Miss Volkov and Mr. Delvin will both sign non-disclosure agreements to that effect."
"Continuing, in order to provide financial support, a private bank account will be opened in Miss Volkov's name. Once the baby is born, Mr. Devlin will make deposits into this account-"
"Anonymously."
"-in the pre-agreed upon amount monthly. Miss Volkov will only use this money to cover costs for the child, including but not limited to: food, clothing, diapers, doctor costs, child care services, and education. Upon the child's eighteenth birthday, Mr. Devlin may cease making payments, and control of the account may be passed on to the child, at Miss Volkov's discretion."
"However if the NDA is broken in any way, this agreement becomes null and void. The account will be closed and the remaining funds will be returned to Mr. Devlin."
"Don't worry," Diana assured them with a scowl, "I have no intention of telling anyone that this man is the father of my child."
She turned her icy gaze directly on Richard, the dragon shrinking in his chair and averting his own eyes. She didn't think it was possible but his seeming cowardice only worked to upset her further, which even.
"Well, since everything seems to be in order then." Miss Irons said as she sorted the paperwork. "So we'll just have everyone sign and date all the paperwork and we'll be done here."
"Good." Diana had to suppress a growl as she took the paperwork, signing as quickly as she could before passing it across the table. She was so done dealing with Richard and this whole ordeal that she couldn't even look at him as he signed. "Okay, are we done here?"
She didn't even wait for a response as she was all too eager to get away from the man. She let Miss Irons finish up the paperwork and made for the door.
"Diana, wait!"
Unexpectedly, Richard leapt from his seat and raced after the wolf. Diana stopped against her better judgement. "What?"
"I... wish it didn't have to be this way..."
"Oh, fuck off." she turned back towards the door but Richard grabbed her arm, not letting her leave just yet.
"I mean it. Isn't there any other way we could work this out amicably?"
"No, there isn't." She snapped and pulled away from his grasp. "You lost that chance when you threatened to sue me. We're through, Dick, and I never want to see your face again. It's clear now you always cared more about your career than me. But to stoop as low as this? You don't even deserve to be voted into a garbage collection position. So fuck you, and stay the hell out of my and my child's life."
With that she turned and stormed out the door. She refused to give the man even one more moment of her time. Miss Irons had to hurry to keep up with her, though neither said a word as they went down to the street and waited for Miss Thema's limousine.
"So, how'd it go?" The fennec asked as they took their seats. "Will there be any court trials?"
"No trial, and Miss Volkov will be keeping her child. You will need to sign this document disavowing any knowledge to the identity of the father. And you must not speak of this to anyone."
"Diana, are you alright?"
"No." Despite how stoic she had been through the negotiations, Diana had hit her limit. She could no longer hold in her tears, or her howls of anguish. It all came flooding out then as a wave of emotions filling the back seat of the limo.
"You've got this Diana, we've almost there! Keep breathing, get ready, and push!"
"Fuck!"
Diana grit her teeth as her body tightened. She was doing all that she could to get through the pain and push with all her energy.
"Dammit, just get out already, fucking christ!"
"You're doing great, baby." Her mother assured her, holding her hand through it all. "You're almost there, just a bit longer."
"A bit!? I need her out now!"
"She's coming." The doctor called out. "A few more pushes and she'll be right out."
"A few more pushes... if I ever see that bastard again, I'll kill him. Fuck!"
"That's it Diana, keep pushing. Her head's coming along now."
"It's like passing a watermelon!"
"Her head's out! Just a little more! Here she comes!"
Diana growled through one big push, a growl that turned into a heavy sigh of relief as the baby was finally born.
"Oh fuck." She gasped as the doctor and nurses rushed the baby to the energy table. "Fuck! There's still more!?"
"Just the afterbirth." Her mother assured her. "Should come right out."
"Fuck! What about my baby girl?"
As she asked, a small wailing filled the room, the newborn letting out her first cries as the nurses cleaned her off.
"My baby?" Diana perked up despite her exhaustion. "Where's my baby girl?"
"She's right here." A nurse chimed in, bringing over the bundled up baby. "Here you go, Mommy. One healthy baby girl. If you're up for it, go ahead and see if she'll suckle from you."
"Come here, come to Mommy." Diana cooed as she took the child in her arms and held her to her breast. "That's it. She's feeding! Mom, she's feeding!"
"She's a darling, too." The doctor said with a smile. "All she needs now is a name."
Diana looked down at the small, gray furred wolf cub in her arms. There were hints of deep orange scales peaking through along her arms and legs along with a reptilian tail and a pair of leathery wings.
"Amber." Diana said at length with a warm and loving smile. "My precious Amber."
"Amber Volkov. A beautiful name." The doctor nodded. "Now, I'll leave you two to get to know each other better."
Diana sighed as the doctor and nurses left. The room went comfortably quiet as her mother sat at her side and her daughter gently suckled at her breast.
"My precious Amber." She said again, gently brushing a finger through the babe's red hair. "Amber, I promise you, while I may not always know what I'm doing, while I may not always make the right choice, I promise I will always do my best to give you the best life possible. And no matter what happens, no matter what may come, I will always love you, my daughter. My dear, precious Amber. I will always love you."
