Loona's Love Life.

Chapter 5: Turbulent Relationship.

May, 26, 2021.

Alex looked out of a nearby window at the red tinted sky. A faint smile made its way across his face as he continued to type away at his powerpoint presentation. His mind lost in thought as he went over the last few weeks in his head, hearing voices however brought him back to the here and now.

"So Loona, who yeah bringing with ya to the festival tomorrow?" Blitz asked as the hellhound in question just grumbled.

"Seriously Blitz?" She asked as the group made their way into the reception room. Alex gave them all a wave and then went back to his work. Millie took their gear and headed back to the armory, while Moxxie went over and made a pot of coffee. Blitz stood in the doorway waiting for an answer, while Loona just rolled her eyes and went over to her own desk and got back to work making sure the companies finances were in order. Blitz just huffed as he pulled out his phone.

"Well let's see if Felix has anything planned for this weekend?" Loona shot up in an instant.

"Don't you dare!" she shouted as she tackled Blitz to the ground and began to wrestle his phone from his grasp. Alex just saved his work, backed up his hard drive, and turned off his computer. He then got out of the way of the two as they continued to struggle for Blitz's phone.

"I'ma go help Millie with the gear," He said thumbing towards the armory. Moxxie held up a hand to stop him.

"Hey can you do me a favor and drop this off while you're there?" He asked pulling a small Glock from his coat. Alex grabbed the gun, pulled out the magazine, and racked the slide back to make sure it was unloaded. He then gave Moxxie a thumbs up as he left the room.

"Be back in a bit." His words fell on deaf ears as Loona finally managed to get the phone from her dad, but his grin was still on his face.

"So I take that to mean you've found someone to take along then?" Loona's face heated up as she frantically went through her list of available options.

"Tex: Has a girlfriend. Gilbert: Is in prison. Francis: Is gay. Alex: Is a human. Felix: Is a complete dumbass." She shook her head and looked around the room. Moxxie was still fiddling with the coffee machine.

"Ok fine, I'll see if I can get someone to come with me." Blitz gave a thumbs up but Loona wasn't finished just yet.

"Now can you please get off my ass about this?" She asked as Blitz got back to his feet. He just smirked as he gave her a hug.

"Of course dear," Then he went pink. "Just please don't give Lucis a call." He pleaded. Loona smiled as she thought about it.

"You know for all of the shit you've been giving me I ought to do just that." Seeing her father cringe made Loona smile even wider. She made a show of giving it some actual thought before she gave her father a pat on the head.

"Nah, not my type." She said as Blitz let out a breath. "Oh thank Satan." He said as grabbed his phone and headed for his office. He stopped at the doorway and gave Loona a smirk.

"You know I hear that Alex is trying to stay here over the weekend." He gave his daughter a wink as her face went red, once more. She gave off a little growl as his tale disappeared into the darkroom he called home. She then let out a sigh and scrolled through her phone contacts. Her finger stopped at Francis's name when a wickedly devious idea hit her. She laughed as her father's words came back to her mind.

"Let's see just what Alex is up to this weekend." She then made her way over to the armory.

May, 27, 2021, Earth.

Sophia was livid as she once more hit a bump in the road, that bump being a stone wall of absolutely zero information on her roommate's job. She had tried several times to find any kind of information on Inner Monetary Preparations, Incorporated but she always came up empty. Just as she was about to pull more of her hair out she looked up as Alex came out of his room in denim jeans, a plaid button up shirt, and a cowboy hat.

"Where is this company retreat located again?" She asked as Alex gave himself a once over in the mirror. He looked over at Sophia through the mirror and smiled.

"It's out in California." he lied. Sophia glanced at the gun on Alex's hip and raised an eyebrow. Alex fixed his hat and went and sat down next to Sophia.

"Hey don't worry." He gave her a hug as she let out an annoyed sigh.

"Besides it's a company retreat, Blitz, Loona, Moxxie, and Millie will all be there so it's not like I'll be in any danger." He said as Sophia just laughed.

"Sure." She cringed still thinking back to a few weeks ago.

"Just keep that bitch on leash, ok?" Alex sighed as he gave Sophia a stern glare.

"Please stop calling her that." He asked as Sophia just glared right on back.

"No, She's evil incarnate!" Sophia said a she got to her feet and grabbed a book off her shelf.

"Look at this!" She shoved the book into Alex's face. Praying to god that Blitz would call soon, he decided to indulge Sophia ranting.

"Look at this!" She repeated pointing to an entry on Shape Shifters.

"It says right here that Shape Shifters can take on eh form of anyone they touch, they also have glowing red eyes!" Alex gave Sophia a small smile.

"Area you sure you didn't imagine this whole thing?" He asked, feeling horrible about dismissing Sophia's misplaced concern, but the less she knew the better. Sophia was more pissed now than ever. She looked over to where Alex was, extended a hand over to his face, and slapped him.

"Do you take me for some kind of idiot?" She yelled as Alex sat there rubbing his sore cheek.

"I really wish you were." He muttered under his breath. Sophia was too lost in her anger to hear his smart remark.

"That bitch is up to something, I can feel it!" She said just as Alex's phone rang.

"Oh thank you, god!" He answered his phone and was surprised to hear Loona on the other end.

"Hey slowpoke, you ready?" She asked. Alex gave a nod, "Uh yeah I'm all set." Then he wondered out loud, "Hey how come Blitz isn't calling?" Loona snickered.

"Because he's the one driving, dumb ass." Alex just chuckled to himself.

"Ah, yeah, that makes sense. I'll meet you guys outside." He hung up grabbed his bag for the weekend and gave Sophia a wave as he shut the door behind him. He slumped to the ground as soon as he was outside and took a deep breath to hold in his own anger.

"Everything is going to be fine. you're going on a little vacation for a few day's and everything is going to go as smooth as butter." Taking a few more deep breathes he looked around to see that the coast was clear and made his way out to the parking lot of his apartment complex. He soon got a text from Loona.

"Hey were over in the alleyway out back." Grabbing his bag he lugged it out to the back alley and sure enough there they all were, van and all. Making sure to put on his best fake smile he gave them a wave as he made his way over to the van.

"Hey guys." His voice sounded cheerful but Loona could smell his anger and pain, while Millie saw the redness of his sore cheek. Alex saw the look of concern o her face and just brushed it off.

"I ran into my door, I was a little to excited to leave this mourning." He chuckled, satisfied when his lie seemed to have worked seeing as no one else asked. He put his luggage in the back and climbed into the van, meanwhile, Moxxie was nervous, seeing the look of murderous intent upon Loona's face. She sat next to Alex and gave him a once over. She then let out a sigh as she grabbed her phone and gave Francis a quick text.

"Hey, change of plans." She said as the portal to hell opened up and Blitz started the engine.

Back in Hell, Francis gave off a soft pout as he looked at his text.

"Ah, guess I'll have to meet Loona's boy toy some other time then." He looked over at his client list and saw just who was supposed to be shooting with today. He walked out of his sound booth and called out for his next client.

"A Mr. Angel Dust, the doctor will see you now." He said as he went down the list of available patents.

Back in the van Blitz would occasionally glance back at his crew and smile.

"So are you guy's ready to have the best damn vacation in over two years!" His question was met with fanfare from all passenger's. As the good mood permeated the van, Blitz turned on the radio and hummed along to a catchy tune, Moxxie and Millie just sat behind him discussing their plans for relaxation. This left just Alex and Loona who had taken up the last row of seats, and Loona was really wishing that she wasn't so awkward when it came to small talk.

"So..." she said in an effort to get some kind of conversation going. Alex glanced her way and smiled.

"So..." He replied, causing Loona to scowl at him. He just laughed as she screwed up her face in concentration.

"How's the weather been?" She asked as Alex stifled a laugh. He instead made a choking noise and gave her a look of contemplation.

"Well, it's cold, wet, and rainy." That made Loona's fur stand on end.

"Blah, I hate the rain." She brushed a hand through her tail for comfort.

"It gets dust in my fur and makes it a pain in the ass to take care of." She grumbled remembering how long it took her to get her coat cleaned out the last time she had gotten it dirty.

"Ah, so that's why it's always so shiny and vibrant looking." Alex remarked. Loona didn't think he even paid her coat any mind with all of the glances he threw their way. Loona made a slight squeak of embarrassment as her face went red from the compliment.

"Uh, yeah, that's why." She said as she regained her composure, however, she let out a nervous chuckle a little while later and lost the nerve to continue the conversation. Sensing this Alex decided to reach out in a way that Loona was more comfortable with. Grabbing his phone, Loona watched as he began to text someone and felt bad for having dropped the social ball. When her phone buzzed a little while later she looked at the text and then over to Alex in confusion.

"So how's was the weather on your side of the portal?" She laughed at the dorky nature of the situation but soon a smile adorned her face as she texted back. Blitz having heard his daughter give out a genuine giggle looked back and smiled as she and Alex conversed with one another.

After a few hour's full of traffic, jam, arguments, and road rage, the gang finally managed to make it to the circle of wrath and from there it was a straight shot to Millie's parents, were they would be staying for the weekend.
