The Experiment
What? First story an all, bound not to be the best. My typign isn't the best, and my grammar isn't much better, so sue me for my illogical typing.
Chapter 1: The Beginning
Memories. That's what they were, memories. Confused, angry, upset, all sorts of memories
thumped through the dragon's head. They all fought for dominance, and all falling, defeated.
Leaving only a cold, heartless and emotionless being in there place.
The Dragon stirred. The Drugs that was given to him were wearing off. The Dragon opened it's
eyes, and blinked them several times. They scanned the room as best as they could without
turning it's head, and attempted to get up. The Rope and chains squeak as they were pulled on,
but they held. The Dragon looked down at the restraints, and took closer notice to it's
surroundings. Only then, did the memories of how he got here hit him like a brick falling from a
twenty foot fall. He remembered how he slept peacefully in his bed, undisturbed by the
grievances Humans created amongst them selves. The Dragon snorted. Just thinking of them
makes him sick. He remembered waking up the sound of his front door crashing in, and the
thunderous report of steel toes boots thundering down the hallway towards him. They came to
fight, and to take him into custody. And, boy did he fight. He flashed left, he flashed right. Faster
then the eye can see. The pathetic soldiers fell to the ground either losing a limb, or loss of a
head. But, sadly, there were to many to take on. He fought, and fought, the reek of blood and
sweat filled the room. Just a couple seconds later, He stepped back. He looked himself over.
Bullet wounds and knife wounds were streaked across his chest, arms, legs, and almost
everything else. He fell to his knees, woozy from blood lose as the soldiers swarmed in and took
aim. He wanted to kill them, listen to them scream for intruding on his territory. But, alas, he
could not for he was already dozing off to sleep. The Dragon shook it's head, wanting to think of
other things. He tried to remember who he was, but all he got was a name. Drake, Drake Arson.
Yes, that was his name.
Drake took a look at the chains and ropes again, looking for a weakness. He pulled hard on his
left arm, watching the biceps and triceps bulge under his efforts. Again, the rope and chains only
squeaked under his efforts, and still held hard. He took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and pulled
as hard as he could. The Rope and chain cut into his hide, and hurt to no end. But, fortunately,
the restraints gave way, and both chain and rope snapped. He took off the restraints and rubbed
were they left a mark. He used his free hand to free him self of all other restraints. He swung his
legs over the side of the table, and stood. He couldn't catch himself in time, and came crashing to
the floor. The dragon panted for a second, took a deep breath and winced from the pain from
standing. He used the table for support, and stood at full height. Drake stood at a good 6' 7. Gold
Scales roamed all over him. A bright gold on his back, arms, legs and to the tip of his tail. His
front was a duller gold, stretching from the tip of his snout to the underside of his tail. Two large
wings were folded neatly across his back. With his wings fully extended, the has a wing span of
thirty feet. His tail swayed lazily across the floor behind him. His claws at the tip of each digit
resembled a small knife, sharp to the point. His Feet/paws had the same claws, only a little
larger.(Note to the readers: I can't detail Feet for S8it! I'll need some practice on that) He
stretched some, wincing from the efforts, and slowly walked to the only door in the lab.
Evidently the fools who captured were not smart enough to lock the door. The dragon grinned, a
broad toothy smile. Red slitted eyes glittering at the possibilities he could do to the idiots who
kid napped him. The door operated on hidden hydraulics, sliding neatly into the wall. He looked
out, looked left, looked right. Nothing. Drake stopped. This was too easy. He half walked/limped
to the left. He kept a keen ear out for guards or people. That's when the idea popped into his
head. Why not use his hologram? 'God dammit, why didn't I think of that earlier?' he thought to
himself. Dragons, bipedal ones anyway, adapted with technology. There was no such thing as
"Magic". The Holograms simply put an image of a Human form around his draconic one. And, If
need be, the user can make it solid to the touch for realism. He attempted to activate his Holo, but
nothing resulted. 'Bastards disabled it...' Drake muttered to himself. Feeling better on his feet, he
silently walked down the halls. He stopped dead when the sound of soldiers came down the
hallway ahead of him. He looked frantically for somewhere to hide, only to find no doors behind
or ahead of him. He looked up, and took his best chance.
Two soldiers rounded the corner, and went down another long hallway. One Soldiers cursed his
luck. He joins the Special forces and he gets locked up in this shit hole. He had to sleep in this
Damn place. One night in his bunk, the lights overhead flickered for a second, and there was a
very low bass sound coming from the walls. No one knew what it was, or were it came from.
And to make things better, one of the senior officers here on the base came in and said that we
didn't hear anything, and just shut the door. The two rounded one last corner, but stopped in the
middle of the last hallway. Something didn't smell right. He looked down both ways of the
hallways. Didn't see anything. Only then did he look up. Something heavy and bright landed
right on top of both of them. It growled and bit his partner's head off. But he managed to
scramble up and run down the hallway towards the hall way. He panicked, and missed the station
door and kept running. The beast behind him was getting closer. He could feel it. He could feel
it's heavy footstep's behind him, right on his heels. That's when he tripped. The beast landed
right on top of him. He landed on his back, and skidded forward another ten feet or so, and came
to a stop to find a surprising and terrifying discovery. The beast, a dragon was looking down on
him. It's huge canines were showing, and it was growling. The soldiers eyes rolled into the back
of his head and passed out from shear shock.
Drake kicked the limp body. Pathetic. He looked ahead, then did he take notice of the fear torn
janitor behind him. He looked at the man, the man looked back. The Human took off running
toward some hidden door around the corner. That was when the painful wail of sirens and
klaxons sounded there report. Drake turned around, and saw the door out. He started at a job,
then at a run, then a full out sprint towards the door. A think piece of metal was starting to close
over it. With one last burst of energy, Drake leaped and slide right under it before it latched to the
ground behind him. He opened the door to his freedom, and stepped outside. It was a warm
evening day. He took a look at the sun, and figured it to around three O'clock. He got some
distance from the complex on foot. Picking up speed, Drake spread his wings, made a mighty
thrust downwards, and was high and soaring the themals, headed home.
...Else ware...
The man at his desk smiled. The experiment escaped. But, not before we attached a device to it. His
smile broadened to a evil grin as a electronic map opened up on the wall. The map showed a
pulsing red light, slowly moving west towards the coast. We'll get him back. They always come
back.... Always...
... To be continued.
