Aleu and Kiona "wink"
"Ugh! Aleu, if you howl ONE MORE TIME, I'm gonna--"
"You're just jealous cuz my singing is better than yours," Aleu replied to her sister, Ki0na, sticking up her nose.
"You call that singing?! More like excruciating pain!" Ki0na spat.
"That's enough out of you two," their father exclaimed, coming in between them, glaring at them.
Aleu and Ki0na were both almost a year old now, but they were still very young. They were both fast learners, like their other siblings, but they have not learned to be nice to each other.
Balto tried keeping the two apart whenever they were angry, but since Aleu always stayed with him, she was always there when Ki0na decided to be a good daughter and visit.
"Your brothers didn't nearly argue as much," Balto sighed.
"Yeah, right!" Aleu snorted. "Dakota beat up Dingo all the time!" It was true, the two brothers did fight, but it was always Dakota beating Dingo, because Dakota was the oldest pup and Dingo was the runt. The two were adopted to families, only Dingo lived far away.
Balto ignored her. "Ki0na, does Thomas expect you home tonight?" Thomas was Ki0na's owner. Before, Balto and Jenna called her Una, but the name that Thomas gave her stuck.
Ki0na looked at her father and sat down, her head lowered. Ki0na respected her father because she was afraid of him for some reason. "Uh...no. But he will expect me in the morning...he's training me to be a race dog."
"Ok, that's fine." He replied. He looked at Aleu. "I know you don't have anything important going on. And I'm tired of the two of you arguing all the time, so you two are going to stay on this boat, alone, and talk things through. I'll be back by morning." Balto started to leave. "Don't kill each other until I get back." And he jumped from his boat and headed into town. He met Boris just outside of the boat.
"You think this'll work?" Balto asked the old goose.
"I doubt it," he replied simply.
The two sisters groaned in frustration simultaneously and sat on opposite ends of the boat. They stayed that way until evening when the sun began to set. Ki0na being the more stubborn of the two wasn't budging for an agreement. Aleu sighed to herself. Maybe since she's the older sister, she should play peace-keeper.
She rose from her spot and sauntered to her sister. Ki0na was aware of her presence, but still had more of an interest for the scenery.
Aleu cleared her throat. "I'm sure you're as bored as I am, so why don't we come to an understanding?"
"What understanding?" Ki0na asked, glaring at her sister. "An understanding that you don't know what 'no' means and are the most annoying creature I've ever met?"
"Me, annoying?" Aleu exclaimed. "At least I'm not crazy!"
"You think I'm crazy? You're the one who's obsessed with their own identity!"
"Are you calling ME fanatical?" Aleu bared her teeth.
"What was your first clue, Aleu?" Ki0na smirked.
"Grr! I do not hafta take this!" Aleu shouted. "I've no need to listen to someone as insane as you! You're so brutal for no reason!"
"Call me crazy again, and I'll show you why I'm so brutal!" Ki0na got up in Aleu's face, with a snarl. Ki0na hated this about her sister; she always managed to get really personal whenever she confronted someone. Aleu wasn't a good fighter to say the least, but even Ki0na thought it was more brutal to mentally wound someone, even if it's an accident.
Aleu stepped back, not wanting Ki0na to get violent. If there was one way Ki0na won her battles, it was through force. Aleu knew that was who her sister was: a very hot-tempered individual. Even though Aleu wasn't sure of herself and why, she was on familiar terms with that Ki0na was well-aware of whom she was: a sled-dog.
The older sister sighed. Feeling calmer, she looked into her sister's infuriated eyes. Both of them were hurt mentally in some way. Aleu knew that they can get through it together.
"I'm...sorry." Aleu finally said, leaning her head on her sister's shoulder. Ki0na jumped a little in shock. She almost resisted, but this embraced felt wonderful. Ki0na never felt such sisterly love before, even with Saba. She leaned into the embrace and pushed her face into Aleu's fur for comfort. Ki0na could feel tears forming in her eyes but her pride denied them to fall.
Aleu masked her face into her sister's fur as well. Only she didn't feel sisterly love like Ki0na did. She felt something more. Ki0na's scent made Aleu feel a sudden interest in her.
Ki0na felt her sister do something weird. Aleu stroked areas of her body, like her chest and neck. Ki0na didn't know what to do, so she froze. Never in her life did she feel so embarrassed as to freeze like this. She wasn't sure whether she should have just enjoyed it or attacked her.
"What the hell--" Ki0na started, trying to resist. She tripped over her own feet and was brought down by Aleu for the first time. Aleu kept exploring Ki0na's body. And for the first time also, Ki0na was scared. She still didn't know what to do, especially since her sister made up her mind and once Aleu makes up her mind, there's no stopping her.
Ki0na, with anxiety displayed on her brow, looked off to the side while Aleu continued to sexually explore her body. Ki0na tried doing the same, but it was no use.
"I could try to escape," Ki0na thought. She didn't care if she upset or embarrassed Aleu. But Ki0na knew she was lying to herself. She had just patched up her angry relationship with her sister and didn't want it to end naught. "But...I don't want it like this..." Shame tugged at her mind the entire night.
The next morning, Aleu awoke with Ki0na gone. Aleu yawned, thinking about the previous night. It was exhilaratingly new. But she was well-aware that it had to be kept a secret. Ki0na would be far from thrilled if it was blurted out to any soul.
She heard footsteps approaching. Hoping it was Ki0na, Aleu jumped to the edge of the boat to see. It was her father.
"Good morning, Aleu," Balto said, walking into their home. "How was the night with Ki0na?" He looked around. "Where is she? You didn't kill her, did you?" he laughed.
"No, papa," she said, rolling her eyes. "Things went...well." She thought it went well last night, because she felt like another part to who she is was revealed.
"Well, that's good. I hope to see no more big arguments from you two." Balto said, serious.
"Yes, papa," Aleu smiled.
Ki0na was really feeling the stress the next day. Thomas' training didn't assist the situation either. She wasn't running her fastest and Thomas was really pushing her. But she couldn't stop thinking about the previous night. She wasn't sure what to consider it. Was it love? Was it infatuation? Was it abuse? Whatever it was...it wasn't right. It wasn't the fact that Aleu was a girl...but she was her sister. No...no one's supposed to do those things with their sibling, no matter what they feel.
"Ki0na, run faster!" Thomas yelled, anger forming in his voice. Ki0na shook her head to pay attention. Rapidity was supposed to be Ki0na's main purpose. She pushed herself. If she ran fast enough, she'd be able to escape her problem. But she didn't want to run away from Thomas...he meant too much to her, even if he pushed her beyond her limits. She knew that the only way to not deal with a problem, was to get rid of it. Ki0na's hostility amplified and she ran faster. She ran away from Thomas.
It was evening. Aleu wandered around the forest near home. She decided to find something to do while she waited for Ki0na to be done with her sled-dog training. She came up to a river and lapped water from it. She hoped that Ki0na would be done soon, until she heard feet running at full speed. They sounded like they were heading in her direction.
She looked up and seen a red figure running towards her. Aleu arched her eyebrows in wonder. Who was it? As the red figure drew nearer, Aleu could see that it was Ki0na. She must've gotten away from training early. Aleu smiled and started towards her sister. When she seen the menacing look on Ki0na's face, she stopped in her tracks, eyes never leaving her bared fangs.
"K...Ki0na?" Aleu whispered.
"It ends tonight." Ki0na said before bounding into the air.
Aleu gasped and stepped backwards without realizing the river was behind her. She took one false step and fell into the water, Ki0na leaping right on top of her.
"I hate you!" Ki0na snarled.
Aleu raised her head from the water. "Ki0na! It's just who we are! You need to accept your destiny! You can't run from it, it's immoral!"
"You're immoral! What we did was immoral! What you've done to me was immoral! I'm fed up with your constant desire to know who you are! This isn't who we are!"
"And I'm fed up with your insanity!" Aleu spat in between breaths from the rushing water. "You're crazy for not caring about your fate!"
Ki0na snuffed out a laugh. "Oh, I care alright! I care about getting rid of the problem I have!" Ki0na's fangs latched around Aleu's emerged neck.
But she couldn't bring herself to finish what she had set out to do. She slowly removed her jaws from her sister's neck and then quickly backed away onto the shore, staring at her, wide-eyed. When Aleu came out from the water, Ki0na couldn't bear to look at her, and yelled at the ground.
Ki0na felt two feelings she had never felt before, and she hated it. She felt guilt for trying to kill her own flesh and blood. She felt depressed about even getting involved in this situation. All of these foreign emotions make her head hurt terrifically. She damned this experience life put her through. She wished it never would have happened.
Aleu watched her sister scream fits. She had never seen anyone hurt this much, let alone Ki0na. It was horrifying to see her sister like this. She approached her sister very cautiously and went to calm her.
Ki0na could feel her sister try to touch her. "Leave me alone!!" Ki0na bellowed. Aleu jolted back at the sudden aggression of Ki0na. "Maybe...its best you leave me alone." Ki0na rumbled. Aleu didn't say anything; only paused for a moment, then ran away, back to the boat. Ki0na didn't chase after her. She didn't need to. She didn't want to. Ki0na laid on the ground until she felt the morning sun warm her fur.
She didn't hear from Aleu for two days. On the second morning, Ki0na came across her father heading towards her mother's home. He looked worried. Even though she was more distant from her father than ever, she advanced towards him.
He looked surprised to see her when she came into view. "Oh. Ki0na. How are you?"
"I've...been better." She said. "What's wrong?"
"Aleu ran away. She never returned last night." Balto said, worry spilling from his words.
Ki0na's face remained serious. Even though Aleu was her sister, she was glad she was gone because now she could feel free again. Aleu gave her an experience she never wished happened. She would have rather fought with her sister every day for the rest of her life. Ki0na saw the events of that night as abuse, on Aleu's part. Aleu was stupid that night, even for an older sister. Ki0na could have cared less about Aleu being a girl. The reality that she was her sister was the appalling ingredient. Ki0na then felt any feelings for Aleu begin to dispel.
