"Grandfather, in a year I want to legally bond Edward if he will and you'll allow it?" I ask him. Grandfather laughs. "You love him so much, and I'll be happy to have you officially become a Featherstone" Grandfather says joyously. Edward looks surprised. "You will?" he asks. "If you'll take me, that is" I say. Edward throws his arms around my neck. "You'd take my name, and give me so much of what you have?" he asks. "I would" I say. "I think it's a great idea, Edward, I wouldn't approve if it was for anyone else but you, but you'll be my son in law legally" Dad says smiling. "Edward, I love you, and I want to be yours for good" I say. "Claude, if Jim approves we will" he says. "I do, Edward, you love him, you've loved him for so long now, I can see it as I've thought about it" Dad says. "No one could love him more than you do" Dad says hugging Edward. I can hear Grandfather laughing on the phone. "Edward, you will be loved until the moment you pass on" Grandfather says happily.

"I'll call Edward with the details on picking up Bernard, but try not to let Rennie know he's coming" Grandfather says. "Yes, Sir" I say. "Claude, he'll work out fine, he'll have his Bernard and your family will treat him well, I know you were worried about how to help him, let Edward handle him where possible" Grandfather says softly. "I will, he's my husband, and I'll mind my Fox" I say quietly. "I told him you'd be that way, he loves it, but he'll need time to get used to it" Grandfather says. "I'm proud that he got you at last, Claude, I couldn't have asked for a better Grandson in law" he says happily.

"Grandfather, Edward and I have talked, we want to come see you when I can schedule time off" I say. 'I'd love that, I want to meet you, and I do miss my Grandson" he says softly. "I'd love to meet you, Edward has spoken of you to me at times, you raised him, and now it makes sense to me,"I say.

"Edward's parents were not married, she did not know she was pregnant when his father was sent out for service, she bore him, and I raised him" Grandfather says. "Has he ever met his Father?" I ask. "Once, Claude, it is an unusual situation, his father was not of our family, but given to us to train and send out, Edward's father is not a Fox" Grandfather says. "Oh?" I ask. Grandfather laughs. "It's why he's been close to James and probably why he fell for you" Grandfather says. "His father is a Lion, he is half Lion/half Fox" Grandfather says happily. "He is one of the larger members of our family as well" Grandfather says.

"My daughter had an affair with his father, and I raised him proudly, and he has been a credit to our family as well." Grandfather adds. "Claude, he will open up in time, he is happy though, he is used to being in control of his feelings" Grandfather says. "He's done well already, he's willing to talk if I ask him things, and he has relaxed a bit, we'll work it out, Sir" I say. "He loves you, never doubt that, Claude" he says. "I know, I know how much he loves me, he swore he'll leave me only when he dies" I say quietly. "Let me know when you can come, I'll be looking forward to it" Grandfather says and he hangs up.

I kiss Edward and I fix him a cup of tea and a plate of breakfast and he sits and eats. He looks a bit embarrassed at first. Dad kisses him.
