Alisa's Nude Cafe Dining
The second part of the story started in the grocery shopping tale, which can be found here: https://www.sofurry.com/view/1791910
Alisa returns for her lost ID card and meets with the cashier again. Having finished their duties for today, the two decide to share an evening by visiting a nearby cafe.
The sun began to set on the horizon, painting the urbanistic landscape of buildings and roads into various shades of orange. The store had been closed and all of Luke's colleagues had already left, yet the lizard took his time and waited right outside the main door. After an hour of standing there and checking his phone, Luke started to wonder whether the bunny girl will come back at all. Perhaps she didn't notice her ID card disappearing, or just decided to come back tomorrow. Either way, Luke grew bored of this endeavor.
"Hello, is this the grocery store?" Asked some old woman, leaning on her walking stick.
"Yes, but it's already closed. Please come back tomorrow," said the cashier.
"Y-yes, of course," the woman responded and quickly left, allowing Luke to return to his thoughts.
Another ten minutes of playing dumb mobile games passed pretty quickly.
"Um, is the store closed already?" Asked a manly voice.
"Yes it is, please come back tomorrow," the lizard said without looking up.
After five more minutes, he heard someone's voice once again.
"Hello! Is the store closed?"
"For the last time, yes. It's written on the door. The store shall reopen tomorrow, now please go and tell that to everyone else so they'd stop asking everyone five minutes."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I just lost my ID card there, I thought maybe someone found it, but if not, I'm not gonna bother you."
A flash of realization struck the green lizard, causing him to turn his head. The same nude bunny with a beautiful body and two-colored fur stood in front of him with glimpses of hope in her eyes. Her wallet was in her hand as before, yet this time she looked more concerned than cheerful.
"Damn, it's you? Sorry, had a long day at the register," Luke said while blaming himself for the lack of courtesy in his mind.
"I can imagine," a faint smile appeared on Alisa's face, "so, about the card..."
"Oh right!" The lizard slowly reached into his pocket for the ID, admiring the anticipation on the nudist's face.
"Found this near the shelves," Luke held her the card with a smile, "watch your stuff closely next time, even if you don't have much on you."
"Yes!" Alisa jumped up with her breasts bouncing along.
The girl hastily grabbed the ID and gave the cashier a tight hug, much to his surprise.
"Thanks a lot, Luke! I've got no idea what I'd do if you didn't return it."
"No problem, that's part of my job," the lizard felt that he'd be blushing right now if he physiologically could.
The bunny girl pulled away from him and waved goodbye, ready to go about her business.
"Say..." Luke said unsurely, causing one of Alisa's ears to twitch, "are you free this evening?"
"Well, I already bought groceries, so my responsibilities for today are over," she said with a hint of pride, "I planned to have an evening stroll, maybe see what else this part of the city has to offer. You have any ideas?"
As the nudist finished her sentence, both heard a loud rumbling in her bare stomach.
"Your body's pretty vocal on this subject," the lizard chuckled, "I know a couple of cafes nearby. If you'll be down for that, I could show you."
"Hm, why not? I'm honestly dying of hunger. Had to run back here as fast as I could, didn't have a chance to have a snack. Also, my friend's still working, so I wouldn't mind company."
"You have any preferences?" Luke said with confidence, realizing that today's evening will be spent with a very interesting company.
"I'm vegan, if that matters," Alisa responded with a bit of concern.
"That's totally okay. I know a pretty nice place that serves top-notch vegan stuff, not very far from here."
"Nice!" The girl exclaimed with passion, causing a couple of passersby to turn their heads. She surely wasn't short on emotions. The wallet swung in Alisa's hand and as she raised and the girl nearly dropped it.
"Want me to carry it for convenience?"
"Sure, thanks," the nudist handed the wallet to Luke with no second thoughts.
"You're pretty trustful, you know," the lizard said in a joking way, "what if I was an elaborate pocket thief?"
"That wouldn't be a problem," she slapped her hips, "I don't even have pockets!"
The two shared a laugh and walked towards the cafe, ahead lied a wide pedestrian street lined with large houses and age-old trees. As they stepped on the tiles, Alisa suddenly held Luke's hand. The lizard reacted with a bit of surprise. He didn't expect this, but it certainly wasn't unpleasant.
"I'm used to holding hands when walking with friends," the girl said, smiling, "oh, am I making you uncomfortable?"
"Nah, don't worry about it. It's just... A rare occurrence, as I told you. Not many people here are used to such openness."
"Ha-ha, I already noticed."
There weren't many people on the street, but the ones present mostly tried to go about their day without reacting. That said, Luke noticed many of them looking for brief moments before turning away as nothing happened. In some cases, guys had their heads forcibly turned away by their girlfriends. He'd lie if he said that it wasn't entertaining. Few people were more interested in the bunny, the girl even received a couple of catcalls. Alisa wasn't bothered by them, however, as she was far more immersed in Luke talking about Patrian - this large city they were in. Compared to Saqua, a small coastline town, this place seemed very different and thus interesting to the nudist. The lizard took this chance and kept Alisa's attention with simple but different facts about his hometown. He didn't know much, but his speaking skills mostly made up for the lack of information. Engaged in their friendly conversation, the two didn't notice how they nearly missed the small cafe at the end of the street.
"Hello!" The bunny exclaimed as she walked in, waving at the people there.
The place seemed quite cozy with its interior designed in contrast of white and various shades of brown. There weren't many customers, and the atmosphere was quite calming. The girl's bare feet also felt a big difference, as she was now stepping on neatly arranged planks of wood. Some people greeted Alisa, to which she responded with a polite smile. The waitress, a brunette mouse in her twenties, looked at Alisa in shock and nearly dropped her tray. This got a couple of laughs from the present customers.
"Plenty of free seats here, I like that," the girl said, looking at the tables ahead.
"Let's choose that one," Luke pointed at a table not far away.
"By a window?"
"Yeah, I like sitting near windows to have a good look at the streets. And today we can give people on the street a sight as well."
"Fair enough," Alisa chuckled.
The two strolled to the table and started choosing their possible meals. The bunny looked at the large menu pages with various vegetable dishes on them with awe.
"Wow, didn't expect them to be that well-versed in cooking veggies," she said with approval, "I'll take carrot gnocchi, I think. And some orange juice."
"My choice will be fruit salad, had a lunch not so long ago."
The mouse waitress from before came to the table, eyes to the floor.
"H-hello, what would you... Like to..." She said quietly, as if afraid of something.
Alisa saved her from the awkwardness and casually explained their order. Luke noticed that the waitress tried her best to not look at the bunny's body and mostly avoided eye contact. It was very ironic, considering the mouse was the one fully clothed, and yet also the only one who was shy about the situation. She took the order and hurried to get away from the two, who continued their light-hearted chatter. A couple of times somebody either from the street or nearby tables expressed their interest in Alisa, usually by taking out their cameras. She always responded positively, smiling, waving, and sometimes even standing up to pose a photo.
"I see you're enjoying this," the lizard chuckled a bit as her friend sat down at the table.
"I like to think of this as a social experiment of sorts," she explained, "it's pretty obvious that people here react differently to public nudism, but from what I've seen it's mostly positive."
"It's just many nudists are rather annoyed by the attention they're getting."
"I don't find it annoying, especially when they're not trying to be mean. Quite the opposite," she shrugged her naked shoulders, "it might seem rude of them to stare or to take pictures of me, but I think it's just the fact that they aren't used to such a thing. Seeing a nude girl in public like that."
"I can confirm that you're right about that," Luke said with a slight grin.
"I just feel like it's an interesting learning experience for both of us. Me seeing people who aren't used to my way of living, and them seeing me. All of this might sparkle some ideas. Maybe they'll wonder about what I'm doing and find some more info about nudism in our republic. Broadening the horizons a bit. Also, it's just very fun."
"Yeah, I can agree. The reactions are pretty different, especially for that mouse over there," Luke and Alisa took a look at the waitress, who tried her best not to gaze back.
"Well, she's probably used to more strict rules, I wouldn't judge her. Besides, she must be pretty overworked right now. Even when there aren't many customers, being a waitress is pretty tiring."
"You've worked as a waitress before?" Luke asked to continue the conversation.
"Let me tell you," she jokingly sighed, "I'm doing it for a living and sometimes it's pretty hectic. But still, I like it far more than working in an office or some other boring stuff like that."
"Let me guess: you're wearing your work uniform right now?"
"Yes, how did you know?" she asked ironically, "the cafe I'm working in is based around being eco-friendly and natural, so my lifestyle is quite fitting. We're visited by many tourists, so if you'll ever be in Saqua, make sure to stop by!"
As Alisa kept chatting with her new friend and occasionally teasing the passers-by on the street, she didn't notice the waitress coming to them with a tray full of food.
"H-here are your meals," the shy girl said quietly.
As she placed the plates on the table, she got visibly nervous and nearly dropped one of them. The bunny girl caught it with remarkable agility and looked at her with understanding. She saw that the number of people in the cafe suddenly increased and now the majority of the tables were busy with customers waiting for their orders. It was pretty obvious to the lizard that some people were only here to take a closer look at the nude bunny they saw through the windows. Alisa snapped her fingers with a realization.
"Let me talk to your manager!"
The waitress got quite scared of the idea, but couldn't refuse this right to one of the customers.
"Jeez girl, that's a bit too radical, don't you think?" Luke kept casually sipping his juice.
"No worries, I got this," the bunny stood up and walked towards the bar counter.
A minute later, a large cat in his thirties dressed in a business suit was standing in front of the nudist, shamelessly glaring at her body.
"Damn, the weather report said that it'll be hot today, but seems like it was one hell of an understatement."
"Mayhaps, but that's not what I wanted to talk about," she responded in a more serious tone, "your employee over there seems a tad too overworked."
"Yes, her partner couldn't make it to the job today, we didn't count on having so many people here."
"May I help her with some of the orders?" Alisa asked with hope in her large, green eyes.
"You? But why? You don't have money to pay for your meals?" The cat raised his eyebrow.
"I do, but I still wanna help a colleague in need," the bunny winked at the waitress.
"If you're not counting on having money for that, then sure," the manager shrugged with confusion and hurried to return to his business.
"Nice, we'll get through this," the bunny gave the mouse a pat on the shoulder, to which she only responded with a weak node.
Alisa assumed the role of an underpaid employee with great enthusiasm and almost immediately went to the kitchen to greet her temporary coworkers. The staff working there was rather perplexed, one of the cooks froze in place and nearly allowed the food in the stove to burn. He then realized his mistake and shifted his focus to the cooking in sheer panic.
"Is this some kind of prank by our manager again?" A skimpy, blue rat in a cook's outfit asked in disbelief.
"Are you seriously walking around like this?" Another chef made a weird face.
"No, and yes, respectively, don't think too much about it," the girl waved her hands at the cooks, "just give me the food for clients and we'll be good."
She left to the dining area before they could answer. The majority of the clients were more than happy to see a new waitress and gladly made orders with her. Alisa was a professional in her work, too: her gentle smile never failed to bring a positive attitude, and her calm voice was music to ears. She wrote in a very fast fashion, easily noting every order without mixing them up. The reactions were different again, as some clients just politely ordered food, some showed signs of awkwardness, and some made attempts at flirting, to which Alisa only responded with jokes. Many stayed polite, but their gazes still focused far more on the nudist's body than their food, especially when she leaned over in front of them, carefully placing their order on the table. Some expressed their emotions more radically. Like a bulky wolf near the bar table, who, seeing the girl passing near him with a tray, decided to give her fit backside a loud slap.
"Thanks for the speed boost!" Alisa jiggled her butt for a moment, causing some of the surrounding folks to chuckle.
The girl kept doing her work with positive energy, also paying close attention to how the people reacted to her nudity. She got a quiet laugh after serving a frog guy, who made his order very reluctantly and tried to look away from her while talking. The reason for this was likely his girlfriend sitting at the opposite side of the table, gazing at him with clear suspicion. Alisa decided to quickly note their dishes and walk away from the table, as to not make them feel uncomfortable.
"What would you want for today?" The girl asked near a table where three big elephants sat.
"Your beautiful, shapely butt," answered one of them with a grin.
"Sorry, but this place doesn't condone cannibalism," she responded calmly, "if you're feeling predatory, we might need to show you out."
"Damn, I'm joking alright. What do you even have here?" His face became more serious.
"I'll recommend carrot gnocchi."
Alisa winked back at Luke, who shared a quiet giggle with her. She surely wasn't at a loss for words. The number of customers shrunk as the sun was setting, soon the nudist and the mouse girl finally managed to get a break. The bartender, seeing their hard work, gave each a glass of cold juice, stating that it's on the house. Meanshile, the lizard finished his meal and kept himself busy by joyfully watching the bunny's movements. As soon as the girl went back to her seat, she was called by the same manager she spoke to forty minutes ago.
"Honestly, I'm pretty impressed by your dedication," the cat in a suit scratched his head, "but seriously, what's going on in here? Did we become a part of some show? Is there a camera hidden somewhere or..."
"No, unless you count the ones other people are using," Alisa spun around with her arms spread, "I'm just a nudist girl from out of town. Like I said, I wanted to help your waitress since I know what it's like."
"Alright, I'm still kinda puzzled by this whole thing, but you did pretty well," he patted her on the shoulder, "let's make it fair: since you helped out, your meals are free today. Consider this a form of payment. Also, sorry if I'm being invasive, but are you interested in a job? I can see the concept of a nude waitress working pretty nicely here."
"No, thanks, I'm already employed," She said politely.
"Oh," the man's face became filled with disappointment, "well then, good luck with your job. The business you're working for is pretty lucky."
"No worries, I'm sure you'll find another girl like me in no time. Besides, the idea is great, it'd be wonderful to see more nude people here. So start working on it!"
The manager gave her a quick nod and left, that's when Alisa noticed the shy mouse still standing next to her, too awkward to say anything.
"Great work!" She congratulated her colleague and gave her a tight hug, causing the mouse to freeze in surprise.
Luke could swear that he saw the waitress's blush even through her gray fur.
"T-thanks..." The mouse mumbled as Alisa released her from the grip.
After sharing the win with the staff, the nudist proudly walked back to her seat.
"Sorry, your food has been here for a while, I think it's all cold by now," Luke said with a bit of regret.
"I'm good," Alisa waved her hand at him while putting some gnocchi into her mouth, "I just got caught up in a moment for a bit."
"I didn't mind. It was a pretty cool moment," her friend commented with enjoyment, "if you don't mind me asking: I noticed you typing on some clients' phones earlier, what was that stuff all about?"
"Well, some customers asked for my phone number, so I just typed it in to avoid errors!"
"Giving your cell number to folks you barely know? Now that's brave."
"I mean, I'm open to meeting new people. Might help to spread the lifestyle I'm following," her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, "if they'll become a nuisance, there's always the block function."
"Mind giving... Your number to me as well?" Despite the cashier's efforts, this phrase didn't come across as confident at all.
"Oh, sure!"
The nudist stood up from her seat, once again giving the present customers a full look at her amazing body, and extended her hand to grab the lizard's cellphone. Half a minute later, the number with the name tag "Alisa" was a part of Luke's contact list. He exhaled with relief, it wasn't that hard after all.
"Sorry, I have to get going," the bunny said after finishing her food and seeing the darkness behind the cafe windows, "my friend will probably worry I'll hang out for too long after dark. We agreed to watch a new episode of Ratxelana today's evening."
"Sure, thanks for the great dinner, and for the fact that I don't have to pay for it," Luke smiled, "need someone to walk you home?"
"No-no, don't bother, I'll be fine. And thanks to you too, for showing me this place." The girl walked to her new friend and hugged him while he was still sitting.
Luke's breath became more rapid for a second as his face was pressed against Alisa's bare chest.
"No... Problem..." he said quietly, being too flustered to form a more complex sentence.
"Hope to see you soon again, come to Saqua when you can!" The girl finished the sentence and smiled at her own words, "the idea's so good that it rhymes. That's gotta be a sign!"
"Yeah, for sure."
"Bye-bye!" the girl's cheerful tone echoed through the room as she bade farewell to the present customers.
A moment later she exited the place and went out to the wide streets, now illuminated by countless lanterns and shiny signboards. Her figure gradually disappeared between the various passers and huge trees planted alongside the road.
"Hope... She'll be okay," the cashier heard the mouse waitress said as she stared into the distance.
"I'm totally sure she will be," he responded in a reassuring tone.
The phone screen flickered a bit and went out. Luke looked at it and idly spun his cell on the table before putting it back into his pocket. This day was surely special in many ways, especially comparing it to the cashier's boring everyday life. Leaving the cafe shortly after the girl, Luke couldn't help but wonder what else she was up to, and whether there were others like her in the republic. Alisa's lifestyle that the lizard witnessed today was pretty new to him and, as he could tell, to the majority of people as well. And, of course, this fact just made it so much more interesting.
