Then the doorbell rang. Kye's head came up, slightly confused, and he opened the app on his smart doorbell, to see the delivery driver there. "Hey, it'll take me a bit to get downstairs, this is a big house, so if you could hold on for a minute while I get to you, I'd appreciate it..." "Okay. Sure." Kye picked up his phone. "Not often a delivery driver actually rings the doorbell, most of the time they just knock, and if I'm not able to get there, they say it couldn't be delivered..." "I have one of those doorbells, actually." Kye nodded and made his way down the stairs. As soon as the door was open, the driver had the box on a handcart. It was a fairly big one, and the driver didn't even seem to want money, instead offering for Kye to just sign and get on with it. "Duties were pre-paid by the company, so enjoy!" "Thank you." Kye nodded and took the box inside, grabbing a knife to open the package, carefully. The outer box used to ship the thing was a fairly standard corrugated cardboard box with a lot of foam packing peanuts around the inner box, which was a thin, sleeved, high-quality case for the real prize.

Inside was a suite of different haptic components for his VR setup, something to really, really increase the immersion and accuracy of body tracking in his games. A blue-and-tan bodysuit with some kind of kinetic gel substance as an insulation layer made basic pressure, hits and cuts feel real, and dotted down the arms, legs, and back were fullbody trackers. These trackers were all connected to a central suit battery pack, which could last for days with the trackers all active. In addition, there was a pair of boots with kinetic gel insoles and tops that had sensors on the bottom, to track walking, which magnetically held the user a few inches above the walking pad, and four magnetic hip tethers to keep him from falling over. The gloves, likewise, were filled with the kinetic gel and accurately tracked each finger, for better gesturing in games like VRChat and accurate movements in games like Boneworks. Finally, there were a pair of very high-quality noise-cancelling earbuds with a very good microphone, to make the game sound and his own voice as accurate as possible... And he had requested those earbuds specifically because his headset was well known for crackly audio when it aged. Using a voice changer in VRChat certainly didn't help the quality of his old microphone.

Kye was beyond excited to get playing...

As soon as Kye was done eating, having some tea and finishing some work his boss had needed done on his day off (fuck him, Kye thought), he went up to his VR room with his new gear. He looked at the instruction manual, which was very, VERY easy to follow. "Thank you for backing the NewSkin Advanced Haptics System! The NS AHS is designed for maximum immersion in all of your VR games, making you feel like you're really there. Included is: 1x kinetic bodysuit, 2x tracking boots, 1x magnetic walking pad with rotating base, 2x magnetic tether arms, and 2x tracking gauntlets. For maximum immersion, we at NewSkin recommend not wearing any garments aside from undergarments within the kinetic bodysuit, as the suit may accidentally squeeze too hard or temperature sensations might not be correctly calibrated. Kye seemed a little weirded out that the instructions basically asked him to get nearly naked before putting on the suit, but he supposed it made some sense. He quickly stripped down to his underwear and climbed into the suit, which felt soft of like wearing a soft gel mousepad in its unpowered state. The bodysuit felt, oddly, like that one time he'd been put in a sensory deprivation tank. He soon shucked off his socks and and applied the boots, buckling them on. The boots meshed well with the bodysuit, surrounding his feet in the same feeling of sensory deprivation. It felt extremely strange to stand, with most of his body not experiencing much of anything in the realm of sensation, but he still perservered and put the gloves on, feeling nothing.

This is very uncanny, he thought as he stepped on the pad and connected the battery pack of the suit to keep it charged and put his VR headset on. He was greeted with the sight of an entire dimension of white with grey grid squares, and a panel in front of him, and he felt mildly disoriented as he suddenly felt "ground" under his feet for the first time since donning the boots. "All right, let's set this up, since it's a new device..."

He was soon set up and playing a game.

"What's that?" "TUR-DUCKEN!!!" The sosigs fired at Kye, of course, with all the accuracy of a blind weiner, while Kye, with quick reflexes, directed a few quick bursts of 7.62 NATO at the Sosig's "faces", making them explode in bursts of meat and cartoony mustard. Soon, Kye came up to a door in his favorite indie shooter, H3VR. He'd already secured 5 points and was now equipped with an FN FAL with a 50-round magazine. Ever since doors had been implemented by the dev in Take and Hold, it was super fun to blow them off their hinges with grenades, bash through them with axes, or blow out the locks with shotguns, and now, there was a door right in front of him. He loaded a SWAG-12 HE shell into the undermounted Masterkey, feeling the cool brass and its shape in his fingers as he slid it into the breech of the masterkey. The tactile feedback of these gloves was absolutely remarkable! He shut the masterkey, feeling the breech click into place as he shot the explosive shell into the door, blowing a hole into it. Almost immediately, he ran up to it and pulled the pin off a grenade and tossed it through the hole in the door, before backing off. He hunkered in cover before it went off, the explosion sounding amazing in VR, the tail end of the blast wave able to be felt over his whole body.

Kye shivered, loving how good this suit was at its job...

After getting the high score in that Take and Hold map, Kye decided it was time to go see his friends in VRChat. Unbeknownst to most of his coworkers, he was a furry. He'd gone to furry cons in VRChat and was very active in various furry escapades, though he was almost always in character. However... Kye's fursona wasn't like him. Unlike him, his fursona was a female Rexouium, armed with a full rifle-caliber battle rifle. She had gone through an arc of nervousness and fear and turned into a capable, more confident soldier who served as a shining example to her allies. He spent most of his time in character as her, and even used a voice changer program to make sure he sounded like a female. Maybe there was more to this gender-experimentation than he admitted to himself, but his friends on VRChat, who were well aware of this, were quite happy to play along and tease him about it.

So he logged in to VRChat and looked through his friends list, seeing a few of his friends were online, and in private worlds. He sent them an invite request, hoping that someone would. To their credit, one of his friends did, indeed, send him an invite, which he immediately accepted. The loading bar came up quickly, due to the speed of his PC, and he hit OK. Soon he was loaded into a world that was basically a nightclub, with hot tubs, a bar, and a friend. That friend he had met at the last Furality, at the Protogen meetup. "Oh, hey there~" The protogen purred at him, the Protogen's voice changer giving him a light mechanical tone to his voice. "Hello to you too, cute bean~" He looked up at the oddly tall Protogen and stroked the sides of his visor, feeling what felt like glass. The Protogen wiggled adorably, despite being a model that was nearly 8 feet tall, and he pet him back, right on the giant Rex ears.

Kye shuddered as the ears were pet before he paused. "W-what? My haptic setup doesn't touch my..." "Hmm? What's that? You have a haptics setup?~" The Protogen could practically be heard smirking as he gently gripped Kye's head and stuck his tongue out, licking those giant Rex ears.

Then Kye felt that tongue touch his ears again, right before he felt something very sensitive on the top of his head touch the straps of his headset... The feeling of these sensitive protrusions sliding against his headset forced a moan out of him. A moan that, even to his ears, was... A bit overly high pitched. However, perhaps unintentionally, he found himself sitting in the big toaster's lap, blushing, sniffing his fur as the Protogen purred. "Y'know, you might not have had phantom sense before, but you sure seem to now~" Kai blushed. "I-I don't know how I-i'm feeling the ears and smelling you b-but I am." The Protogen purred and gave Kai a lick on his thin, pointed snoot, causing him to feel it grow...

And pushing the headset right off his head. Yet, he didn't see his VR room.

He saw the club, and the hot tub, and the big, handsome beeper whose lap he was sitting in. He let out a surprised, feminine squeak. "I-w-Huh?!" "What's the matter~?" "I-I shouldn't be- What? I-I'm in VR and my headset just came off! I-i shouldn't b-be seeing the world, I-i-i should see my VR room!" "Oh, but you should be seeing the world~ You see, that's no ordinary haptic setup you got sent, this one's a bit more... Special." Kye eeped and panicked a bit internally. "You see, we didn't just want to increase immersion, we wanted to give people a way to escape life, and never need to work a day in their lives again. We built these suits to make people into what they want to be, and store them in the virtual world. You're not just getting phantom sense, you're becoming your adorable, lovable 'sona~" The big protogen licked at Kye's neck with a gentle "Nyum~" and Kye couldn't help but moan, head spinning.

Kye was confused, scared... But most importantly, ravenously horny. Kye panted and looked into the protogen's eyes. "I-if y-you're responsible, a-are we in a p-private world?" "Are you just saying that because you're afraid those sosigs will distract me from yours?" She teased. "Why? You needy, love?~" "I'm on the ground with my ass up, and we're not on the clock, big boy~" She purred. She gasped as she felt those big paws on her squeezable rump and murred.

"And don't you dare hold baaAAaaaaaaa~" She whimpered as he pushed into her...
