#38 of The Chronicles of Lore

Here is the next chapter, as always there is still more to upload and more to be created in the future.

The treaty was written up over the course of another two weeks, during which time Lorenus took it upon himself to break down the breeder with the Flying Serpents as fulsomely as possible. She was eager at the first, and then scared as time went on, only to rebound to someone as lustful as any slave fed the juice of rut. By the end of the two weeks, when the ink was still drying on the parchment, she was on the verge of laying eggs for him, begging him to fertilize her and breed her like the broodmother that she was destined to become.

Her males were elsewhere, still settling to the fact that they had all but signed the forest and their people over to him, while she was laying back, her legs spread, her eyes all wide and unfocused. Her pussy drooled down over her ass and her tail, her juices thick and heavy, hot and heady to the nose, and he growled deep in his throat as he pulled out of her once more. Her holes slurped around his cocks, giving them that last little kiss of pleasure, and she moaned under him as he left her empty again.

"Mmmph...again, please...please..."

"Ah...not yet..."

He smiled as he stroked along her neck, pulling her in close. She shivered, trying to wrap her tail around his cocks to bring them back to her, but he held her at bay. Ni'Shalin whimpered, obviously craving more, but he was strong enough to hold her back.

"Ssssay it," he whispered.

"Nnngh?"

"Ssssay it. What I am."

"Mmmph...please..."

"Sssay it."

"...Mmph..." She shivered, pressing up against him, her breeding curves soft and plush against his coils. She tried once more to slide into place, and once more, he stopped her. She groaned. "Master..."

"Heh, yes?"

"Breed me...make me lay for you..."

"Sssoon."

And he took her again, pinning her against his coils, his tail sliding between her legs, up and around her waist, only to drag her down against him. Her eyes widened as he slipped both his cocks into her pussy again, feeling her stretch out around him, knowing that she could barely take it and that she didn't care. She just wanted this, needed this.

As she moaned for more, the door to her private chamber clicked. Someone had come to see, and this...this was the moment that Lorenus had been waiting for.

He turned her, him, everything towards the door, and just as it opened for Ak'Talan, the warrior that had brought her here. His eyes widened, his mouth hanging open, and yet, he did not charge. He merely stared, his loincloth rising slowly.

It took, Lorenus thought, smiling to himself as he saw the results of the last two weeks of chat, negotiation, and subtle corruption. Many hours around the table had resulted in various flash-hypnosis sessions, never more than a half-second, never for long, but always building on itself. That little bit here, that little bit there, never enough to break the serpent, but always enough to weaken those barriers.

And now, the time had come. Ak'Talan seeing his breeder getting fucked by his new monarch was the turning point, the straw that broke the camel's back. The snake warrior fell to his knees, panting, staring, his eyes glazing over.

"Come to me," Lorenus hissed. "Come, and worsssship."

And as the Flying Serpent came at the call of his new master, Lorenus knew that the Sizwe Empire had truly gained its first new territories beneath him. The Flying Serpents would believe that they were free, and in their own minds, they would continue to believe that they were. That was fine; he would be the only one that knew that they weren't.

#

The next morning, he sent the Serpents back to their lands, carrying with them the treaty and the commands that he sent with them. A small detachment of the Empire's army would follow after, sent out later in the day, but until he had to deal with that, he had other things that demanded his attention. The Old Hump, having waited by the throne during the entire departure speech that the naga had given, finally turned and spoke up.

"You're flailing at the world, my lord."

"They gave me what I wanted," Lorenus said, shrugging. "Doesss it matter if it comesss in bursssstsss like thissss?"

"It matters for us to move forward with any sense of cohesion, Master."

"I ssssupposssse that you have a ssssuggesssstion then?"

"Yes."

The camel pulled a map from behind his back, holding it out between his arms. The whole of the continent was on display, edited to show the forest of the serpents as part of his empire now. The vastness of the Snakelands stretched out over the northern half of the map, and the rest of it was taken up by a large chunk that was only known as the 'Land of the Untamed', with little written over it, and the land of the six tribes just north of him.

Lorenus sighed. He was very familiar with the map. He had pored over it many times, and knew for a fact that it would be one more session of endless debate with the camel. He slithered from his throne, trying to move around, but the Old Hump surprised him by getting in the way.

"You would bar me, Old Hump?" he asked.

"You are chasing slaves, rather than success. I have been with you for years, Prince Lorenus. When you were banished, you wished to return and take back what was yours. You are falling, prince. Falling into the corruption and hedonism of this court, as if it were a curse settling into your bones. Much longer, and you will not even feel the need to reach to the north. You will settle, and you will forget."

"You forget yoursssself, Old Hump!"

"There, prince, my master. There. That fire. When was the last time that you felt that?"

"I..."

The naga hesitated. There were few memories in the last week, the last month, even, that would have shown him that sort of strength, that anger, that drive - that pride. That part of him that had driven him to take over the Sizwe Empire for his own, that part of him that had pushed him to show the elephants just what it meant to be true masters...what had happened to it? What had happened to him?

He had conquered the Forest, yes, but that had been almost incidental, something that happened while he was pursuing those that he wanted. The breeder, her guards, all of that had been of greater interest to him than the actual territory, the access that he needed through their lands to the north. He had all but forgotten them, more interested in getting his dicks wet, showing his strength, indulging himself.

The realization of what he had started to become hit him like a sandstorm, nearly bowling him off his coils. He slumped back, holding one hand to his head, and the Old Hump stood over him, patient, waiting. Lorenus shook his head.

"Have I fallen sssso sssswiftly?"

"You were on the verge."

"And you sssaw it. And sssstopped it."

"I will not let you lose yourself, Master."

"No...no, you won't."

The naga shook his head. The more that he thought about it, the more that he realized that his plans had gone completely off the path, focusing more on what he would do after he had won rather than what he would do to win. All the strategy, all the brilliance that he had as Prince Lorenus Adelin had all but faded, sliding along the slope of victory debauchery without actually earning it. He sighed, nodding to himself. The Old Hump closed his map.

"Do you need a moment, Master?"

"No. No, I'm fine."

"If you are sure, Master. Our plans?"

"I don't need the map. I know what we need. The river...and the ocean."

"The sharks and orcas -"

"Are half-broken already with the drugsss that we ssssent the Ssssizwe," Lorenus said, remembering what had happened when the Empire had still been under the control of the elephants. "One lassst pusssh, and we will have all that we need. Accesssss by sssea, and the chance to pivot in...a pincer attack, from the north and easssst."

"...That will catch them by surprise, yes, Master. And if your father tries to stop us at the coast?"

"He won't."

He would be more interested in seeing Lorenus do this, testing him. And more than likely, the other snake would be very eager to take advantage if it took Lorenus too long to accomplish his goals. The Snakelands had long been interested in expanding southwards. If the Sizwe army was burnt out trying to take the lands of the tribals across the border, then the Snakelands could march their slaves south and take advantage, mopping up both Lorenus's forces and what remained of the tribals in one fell stroke.

But if he moved quickly...

"Arrange the fleet. We'll move out tomorrow."

#

One thing that Lorenus would give the Sizwe military. Once they were mobilized, they moved quickly. It was not all down to his bits of hypnotic work with the officers, either. They were trained to fight, and they were trained to take the field with speed and precision. It was how they had taken as much land as they had, and how the elephants had been able to hold onto their Empire despite their more hedonistic urges. The prince had been worse than his father, but the former Kgosi had been nearly as poor at holding his lands.

Taking land, however...

Lorenus had entrusted most of his slaves to handling the forces that would pass through the Forest of the Flying Serpents, allowing them the privilege of officer-ship among his forces. They had taken a quarter of the Empire's ground forces out of the capital, while Lorenus had taken another quarter with him to sea. The remaining half would hold the border, ensuring that nothing tried to take advantage of the capital's weakness.

At sea, the naga had a reminder of the pure torture that was the movement of the waves and the discomfort of being at the mercy of something other than gentle sand and hard earth. He groaned at the railing, holding it tightly in a white-knuckled grip. The waves pushed him up, then dropped him down again and again, each time making him wonder how the others were dealing with this. He was grateful beyond measure for the presence of his perch, and tightened his coils along the mammal under him.

"Mmmph..."

"Struggling?"

Lorenus strangled the railing as much as he wished to strangle the elephant behind him. The former Kgosi was all too smug for his tastes, making him think of how much he would have liked to rip him apart. Instead, he took a moment to slowly look over his shoulder. The tall warrior looked down at him, only a hint of smugness showing through the hypnosis that had him in thrall.

"Care what you ssssay...or I will remind you where you belong."

"I merely offer understanding."

"Yes...I'm ssssure that isss what you offer."

"You get used to it."

"Hmmph." He groaned, hissing through his fangs. "How far to the battle?"

"Not long now. A day, at most."

A day more in this infernal thing. He did not relish the thought, but he did not dare take it slower than he had been. The changes that had come upon him in the court, the way that he had been so willing to just sit back and enjoy, indulging himself with whatever random pleasures crossed his mind, had been too close to what those he despised did. He had come close to just sliding into what the elephant prince had done, and he doubtless would have considered other pleasures like the drugs and intoxicants of the former prince if he had been left to his own devices for much longer.

Thank you, Old Hump...

The moment of gratitude passed, pushed out of the way by another rolling feeling of sick. The naga clenched tighter around his perch, guiding the slave away from the railing and back towards the center of the ship. He knew that the feeling there would be a little less intense, hopefully enough to keep him from losing what little food he had been able to keep down. The elephant didn't follow; he was assigned as a captain-slave of the ship, and had been told to keep them on track.

Get to the gathering ground of the enemy...dose the waters with every bit of cukani we have...and then move on...

It was a massive, all-out move to end this quickly and then move on. They didn't have time to slow down, or to do it more safely. Likely, one or two ships were going to be lost in the process when the enemy knew what they were up to. But with their other army already on the way north, Lorenus knew that he couldn't afford to take it safe. He had to be in position for this to work right, or they were going to be in deep trouble.

Keep moving. Just keep moving.

That was all he could do.
