Xandria sighs, lifting her shield up and about to move, when the water before her crests, and within the wave is the angered Alda, screaming with the fury of a storm, crashing right towards her.

"That's not fair!" Xandria shrieks, cowering behind her tower shield and angling it up towards the wave just as it comes crashing down.

A dome of golden-white energy forms around the shield and her body, allowing the water to splash off and around her without so much as misting her.

She blinks as she sits in the barrier, glancing around herself. "Huh... didn't know I could do that..." she notes.

The mer lands upon the dome, her trident striking the shield, and her confidence turning to frustration as the energy of the thing sends her flying back to the sand, landing behind Xandria in a cool and confident, if annoyed, pose.

The mer creature lands upon the dome, her trident striking at the field, her smile turning into another scowl as water lands all around the sandy spot. She bounces off of it, landing behind Xandria, this time, swinging he trident at the woman's ankles.

"I am a proud warrior, and I shall not be made a mockery by your magical tricks, land-dweller!" The mer woman jabs her trident at her opponent, watching that shield disappear.

The tower shield drags through the sand, bringing up a tidal wave of golden grains as she comes to intercept the trident, and the weapons clash once more. "Look, I don't know anything about your honor or your culture. Hell, I didn't even think Atlantis was real until just now. You can't expect me to have some kind of warrior spirit against you or whatever."

"Then, you are uninformed," the warrior growls, "Even if you are skilled. "Perhaps, I shouldn't be so mad at you, after all..." She hops back from the clash, sizing her opponent up. "It has been quite some time since someone has given me such a challenge. I need to rethink some of my preconceptions. Your skills outweigh your political knowledge by quite a margin."

"I'm going to be completely honest with you, and do not take this as an insult," Xandria begins, leaning her shield into the sand and resting against it, "I haven't done a god-damned thing since we met. It's all been, uh, instinct? Magical Powers? I don't understand it." She huffs.

Quirking an eyebrow, Alda rests a hand upon her hip. "Instinct? That is important in a warrior's way. It helps one survive and you should listen to it. If that is where your skill lies, you shouldn't be ashamed of that. But I am curious," She grins. "What is your instinct telling you now?"

Xandria shrugs. "That a mildly sexualized fish woman isn't going to leave unless I beat her ass." She blows out a sigh. "And that I'm going to be late for lunch."

Alda nods. "Your instinct is on-point, and that means that I shall not leave at all, for you see, it is I who shall be beating your ass, and then I shall get a hearty victory meal!"

"Right..." Xandria grips her weapon and pulls it from the sand. "Not that you'd be able to get anything around here with your attitude. You wouldn't survive five seconds in land-dwelling public. Heh, you wouldn't have to worry about all that, because you can't beat my ass if you can't even touch me. Remind me... how many hits have you gotten past this shield?"

Blowing air out her teeth, Alda narrows her eyes. " Your defense presents a problem for me." Her gaze turns away from Xandria and her grin only widens. "Perhaps, then, I should get you onto the offense!"

With that, throws her trident past the angel and towards one of the support pillars of the pier.

"AREYOUFUCKINGKIDDINGME?!" Xandria shouts, lurching in place not knowing if, no definitely knowing that she wasn't that fast. She anchors her feet to the sand and hurls her shield as hard as she can towards the weapon. She's a tank with a capital T. It is the only way.

Alda snickers under her breath and rushes towards her opponent, a gleam in her eye, leaping off of the ground and kicking right at the angel's chest!

Without her shield, Xandria takes the attack straight at her armor. It sends her staggering back a few steps, giving Alda a chance to land upon the sand and perform another kick, aiming right at her side!

"Looks like I figured you out!" she shouts.

Xandria plants her feet, and when the attack lands, she doesn't stagger. Instead, she grasps that ankle, her lips spreading into a wide grin. "Yeah? Let's see how fishy does in the air.

Alda scowls defiantly, fighting to maintain her balance. But she suddenly yowls when Xandria pivots her hips, spinning the fishy fighter around, once, twice, then three times, and then finally releases her, flying high into the air in the direction of the ocean.

With her scream disappearing into the distance, Alda spins high into the sky and crashes with a satisfing splash back into the ocean.

"There... go back home. I don't want to have to hurt you..." Xandria says to herself. "I guess that did it, walking over towards her shield and scooping it out of the sand. "Guess I should just wait and see...

She doesn't have to wait long, as the sandy beach rumbles, and the water recedes from the shore. Soon, from deep within the ocean, a wave rises higher than before, and in the middle of it is the roaring woman.

"Oh great, not again!" Xandria raises her shield, ready for another forcefield.

"Let's see what happens when the earth itself betrays you!" Alda screams through the roaring wave.

"Oh sweet salty mother of earth-" Xandria squeals as the water crashes down not on top of her, but on the beach right at her feet, dissolving the ground beneath of her and, more importantly, exposing the opening at the bottom of her dome of energy.

From the roaring waves, Alda swims up and underneath of the shield, getting up close and personal to her opponent, her body close up to hers, seeing her eye-to-eye, their faces mere inches apart.

"I've got you," Alda whispers. "Can't rely on your instincts now, can you? What do they tell you is going to happen next?"

"Uh... are you about to kiss me?" Xandria asks, her face burning a brilliant shade of pink. After all, Alda's armor is so skimpy, and they're so close, and that sultry voice of hers was all such a murderous combination for anyone who was just the least-bit horny.
