Chapter 1

Amanda was walking alone through the forest of silence, Josef; her uncle had asked her to go pick some golden fruit to make a sleeping tonic.

She had her basket and her bandanna over her head along with her dagger; she didn't know what kind of creatures would show up.

Lately all through Deltora, half animal half human creatures had begun showing themselves. They were different from the centurions because they looked like the animals; they had fur, muzzles and claws but a human skeleton apart from a tail and head.

These creatures could talk like humans to. Amanda tho was all human, from her silky hair to her soft skin all the way down to her non clawed toes.

Amanda passed the tree where the puffles loved to play, they were small creatures with fur but had arms and legs on the bottom of their body that were not visible to the naked eye.

The only one before they became full of life again to be known was Filli, the one puffle that lived with Queen Jasmine in the castle.

Amanda giggled as the puffles climbed over her to be nosey before scurrying back to the tree. She began walking the track again to get back on her way to the golden fruit.

The wolf opened his eyes and was staring up at a sea of browned leaves. His head was pounding and he couldn't feel his arms or legs, his chest felt heavy but he could breathe fine. He was a white wolf with medium length blond hair and icey blue eyes.

He moved his head to the left to reveal a small tree with golden fruit on its branches just waiting to be eaten, he didn't remember the last time he ate, nor his last memory, his head was fuzzy.

The wolf could feel a little feeling back in his left arm so he decided to pull himself over to the tree to try to get something into his aching belly.

"mmngh my head hurts like hell" The wolf said to himself as he pulled his back up against the tree, he reached up to pick one of the delicious looking golden fruit from the tree, as soon as he did a voice called out to him.

"OYE YOU THERE DROP THAT NOW, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO STEAL THE FRUIT FROM THE GOLDEN TREE BELONGING TO DELTORA"

The wolf turned to see a young girl, about 16, standing in an opening in the trees. She began running towards the wolf at full speed before snatching the fruit from his paws.

"Who do you think you are, this tree belongs to the king and the people of Del whom you are not one of, you look like the creation of a witch! In fact, WHO ARE YOU"

The wolf looked at the girl, puzzled into first, how she was so fast and second who he was.

"I have no idea who I am, nor where I come from. I had only just woken up here alone a few minutes ago"

The girl looked at the wolf in a way saying she was not sure whether to believe him or not.

"Well if you don't know who you are, something you own might tell me, TAKE OUT YOUR POCKETS"

The girl was bossy but the wolf did as she asked, he couldn't find anything in his pockets at first, but then felt something, it was flat and weak but folded.

The wolf took the piece of paper out of his pocket and read the name aloud that was written there.

"Keirebu Ookami? if this is in my pocket I am guessing it is my own name!, I am Keirebu Ookami" The wolf said it as if he was trying to convince himself but soon shook it off, He was Keirebu Ookami as far as he knew and as far as he wanted to know.

"well I am Amanda Tracer and if I don't get a basket of this fruit back to my uncle I don't get paid, follow your map and be off with you now" Amanda went over to the tree to gather some of the fruit before hearing a grumbling sound from behind her.

"What was that?" she asked

"Umm hehe I haven't eaten for, umm, well I don't know when the last time I ate was" Keirebu answered.

"Come back to my uncles shop, I will make you something but you will be working it off!"

Keirebu was overjoyed to not only have a name but to get fed, he decided to help pick the rest of the fruit off the tree before following Amanda out of the forest of silence and back to her uncle's shop in Del.

When the two arrived at the shop, a young man was waiting for them.

"ah Amanda I see you have bought company"

"yes uncle this is Keirebu, Keirebu this is my uncle Josef"

Keirebu waved nervously wondering why the merchant was so young and didn't run away, the merchant had shortly cut blond hair and a boyish face with big green eyes, the girl Amanda had long brown hair with haze eyes, you would never be able to relate them.

Keirebu's stomach growled making him blush a bit and Josef heard it.

"you hungry lad" he said

"yes uncle he is, that is why I bought him here"

Josef smiled and gestured to the dining room, Keirebu followed and his sensitive nose could smell food, wonderful food, it made his mouth water.

When they got to the dining room the wolf could see small bowls filled with oats, it wasn't much but he was starving.

"sorry it's all we can get at the moment, not all the food in the kingdom has recovered from the four sisters"

"no it is fine really" Keirebu answered as he began to chow down on the oats like a mad man.

As soon as he had finished he patted his stomach and looked at the other two eating their lunch, because Josef hadn't been expecting company he was eating off of a plate instead of a bowl making Keirebu feel a bit guilty. He took out the small piece of paper he had found on him and tried to understand the small bit of text on it that wasn't his name.

Josef looked up at Keirebu as he was reading the paper.

"let me have a look at it, maybe i can help you with whatever it is that would be troubeling you"

Keirebu handed the paper to Josef to read.

"OH MY LORD HOW DID YOU COME ACROSS THIS"

"I found it on my why, what is it?"

Josef almost choked on his own words he didn't know what to say, he threw it on the table and yelled in happiness.

"THIS IS A MAP TO THE SWORD OF DELTORA WE ARE SAVED WE ARE SAVED"
