Being eaten was not exactly how Dr. Wolfden imagined his day going, but there he was, inside the shrinker room, waiting to be shrunk down to a size not much larger than a bean, to be later consumed by a patient who had been complaining about stomach problems. This type of technology hadn't been used for medical purposes until then, but the opportunity arose and since Wolfden was one of the lead designers of this project, he was the one they were shrinking and sending down the patient's throat.
"Alright, I... I think I'm ready boys! In the name of science!" He said with a nervous and shaky voice as he gave the signal to turn on the machine. Even though he was one of the people who made sure this thing worked, he was still rightfully nervous- one wrong calculation and his whole body could be shrunk down to a microscopic size, which would make it completely impossible for him to ever be sized back to normal.
With a loud noise and a flash of a light that blinded him for a second or two, he opened his eyes to find that the procedure was successful, he was indeed the size of a bean now. He looked all over himself, every body part and accessory he was wearing also shrunk with him but the outside world did not- if he wasn't careful he could trip in the tiny imperfections on the floor and the tiny particles floating in the air now were the size of breadcrumbs. The door suddenly opened and his assistant entered the room with steps that shook the very earth below Wolfden's feet.
"Hey, be more careful walking around here! You're gonna make me fall over!" The doctor said in a tone that was supposed to be deep and commanding, but his voice was as high as if he had been inhaling helium. Of course, his vocal chords shrunk as well!
The assistant, a tabby cat with an ever-sarcastic attitude couldn't help but laugh at the voice he just heard, putting his hand down on the floor. "Right doc, just be careful not to scare the patient with that growly voice of yours~ Come on, get on my hand, I'll take you to him!"
Wolfden made his way to the cat's hand and pulled himself up. "Be careful now, I don't wanna fall down from here..." He warned as the assistant carried him away, still shaking a bit from the giggling, which felt like the most severe earthquake the wolf had ever experienced.
"Here we are good sir, doctor Wolfden is gonna be treating you today~" The patient was a large, but good mannered tiger, understandably looking a bit shy as he was literally going to swallow a tiny doctor as a part of his treatment.
"Um... Hello doctor I... I'm so pleased to see you, my stomach's been killing me" He said, almost reaching out his hand for a shake, but quickly drawing it back, realizing that the wolf probably couldn't even grab his pinky, let alone his full hand.
"Hi, nice to see you! Yes, I've heard all about it and I'm gonna be going inside for an examination, and maybe even fix the problem if it's possible! If all goes well, I'll be in and out in ten minutes!" He explained, getting a bit frustrated as he saw the tiger trying to hide his smile too upon hearing the voice of his tiny doctor.
"Right, but one thing though... I've never been good at swallowing stuff and..." He fidgeted with his hand.
"That's alright, I'll just go in by myself! You just have to stop yourself from throwing me up, that's the problem!" He laughed and upon seeing the patient ease up a bit, he commanded his assistant.
"Put me up to his mouth so I can get in. Open wide sir!" As he was lifted to the tigers open maw, he could instantly smell the hot wind that rushed out of his mouth. It smelled exactly how it was supposed to smell- the mouth of a predator who had been feasting on raw meat his entire life, with bits of his breakfast still stuck between some of his teeth.
Wolfden, trying his best not to gross out, jumped from the hand of his assistant onto the warm, fleshy tongue of the tiger. The patient drew it back a little accidentally which caused the wolf to fall over, but he got back up just fine, now covered in thick saliva.
"Hello, can you hear me? I'm going down!" He spoke into his radio he carried with himself to communicate with the assistant, just to test it before he was completely swallowed.
"Sure can, good luck doc!" He heard the reply, then made his way to the back of the tiger's throat, eventually reaching the two tunnels at the end. One of them had air constantly rushing in and out, the other collecting the saliva- this was the one he needed to go down on. He sat on the edge of the tunnel and talked into the radio.
"Instruct the patient to swallow!" He gave the instruction, then after a few seconds of waiting, he felt a massive force sucking him down into the tube. It was quite similar to a water slide, the saliva acting as the water as he was carried further down the throat. All was going well until suddenly the tube tightened and he was stuck.
"The patient is gagging! Do something or I'll be ejected back!" The wolf shouted into the radio, fighting the force that was trying to push him out.
"Right right, we must do something..." The cat hesitated a bit, but seeing the patient starting to choke, he grabbed him by the head and turned it up towards the ceiling. The tunnel loosened and wolfden started free falling towards the stomach- the trick had worked! It was not long before he finally fell into the acidic puddle formed in the bottom of the tiger's stomach.
