Silvercobra Chronicles - First Contact
#1 of Silvercobra Chronicles
It was day 217, standard earth time, on the science research frigate Silvercobra as it orbited around the desolate planet of Asger VI. The planet itself was unremarkable; the toxic nature of the atmosphere prevented all but the basest of plant life forms and the soil was hard clay that supported only the hardiest of species. Even the water had close to the same toxicity as mercury; all in all, it was a near-lifeless planet that was completely uninhabitable.
But it wasn't always that way; as the Silvercobra did a deep soil scan to find any precious resources that could mark it as a potential mining spot, they found a remarkable discovery. A few kilometers under the soil appeared to be the ruins of an ancient civilization, one that had flourished and may have harbored an advanced alien species. Almost immediately they sent word back to both their government and corporate sponsors, and one week and several sponsorship grants later the landing party of the Silvercobra landed planetside and began to drill through the thick clay that covered their finding.
It was a slow and tedious process to say the least, the clay was so thick and dense they had to stop every few minutes to unclog and clean the drill before they could continue. Finally, on day 217, the seemingly endless tunnel broke way into what was guesstimated to be an almost city-sized cavern. Giant stone monoliths and carvings littered the floor of the cave, the ruins of large-scale buildings and statues. A loud cheer rose through the comm links of the four members of the excavation team, they hugged and cheered as best they could through their environmental protection suits before they shut down the drill and started to walk inside.
Tibri was probably the most excited out of the group; the young Siberian tiger had been recruited by the Silvercobra as a Xenobiologist only six months after he graduated with his Master's degree. The tiger thought he would have to get a job on his home world in some research lab, but to be invited to one of the most advanced research vessels that traveled the stars... it was his dreams come true. Now he was the first one to visit a planetary civilization that hadn't existed in untold centuries. He would have come in his suit if it weren't for the fact he was under almost a dozen kilometers of clay and about to enter possibly one of the creepiest environments imaginable. Even with the scare factor and the possibility of certain death he volunteered to be on the landing team, he wanted to see the ruins firsthand.
"Alright, spread out but keep it relatively tight." The panther in the bulky environment suit next to him ordered as he activated a daysphere, which floated upwards and made it seem like it was as bright as the natural suns outside. It was their security officer, Marcus, and he pointed at Tibri to examine one of the buildings near the drill sight. "Try not to shoot anything that moves newbie; I don't need anyone dying down here because a rock decided to land next to you." Tibri nodded and started to walk off; his hands clutched the large, standard-issue pulse rifle nervously as he started to walk over to a very large building. He had been given basic shooting training while on board the Silvercobra, but nothing in the reality simulator prepared him for shooting something in real life.
With the light of the Daysphere, he could see that what he had originally thought was clay dust looked more like ash, as though the entire area had been put to flame. If it had, he worried, then perhaps a natural disaster or war wiped out all traces of this civilization and there would be nothing left but the empty, burnt out husks of buildings to look through. Those thoughts and fears all subsided as soon as he passed the threshold into the once forgotten building, replaced with sheer awe and wonder. Despite the floor being littered with debris from the crumbling roof and chunks of rock that fell from the cave ceiling, the architecture was mostly intact. Columns and statues of a strange stone rose from the dusty floor to almost the ceiling, which made him feel small and insignificant. He walked in slowly while he shone his flashlight around, and the more he looked the more excited he got at the potential he found. If all the other buildings were like this, the crew of the Silvercobra was going to be busy for a long, long time...
When he got to the back of the structure he realized it was dominated by a figure carved in a black stone unlike the rest of the architecture. It had blended in so seamlessly with the darkness he didn't see it until he was almost right on top of it; it was a statue of a creature that looked almost like a feral dragon of legend, its head twisted in a silent roar while its body was covered in what appeared to be carved smoke or water tendrils. The massive statue definitely had an otherworldly, almost deific appearance, and as Tibri backed away slightly he noticed that the statue was surrounded by a huge basin.
"It was probably a fountain..." he mused to himself as he walked around it. "And this statue may have been their deity... which would make this structure some sort of temple probably. I should probably log this." He sat down on the edge of the fountain's basin and began to take notes on his datapad when he saw something carved onto the top of stone. It appeared to be glyphs of some sort as he ran his thickly gloved hand over it, possibly something in their language. Immediately he pulled out what looked like a pair of goggles and looked through them, and he watched as the green HUD screen recorded the images for later decipher. The runes went all the way around the basin, and he carefully walked around the entire inside to capture the inscription.
As he walked under the dragon's mouth, however, his data capture was suddenly interrupted when he felt something drip onto the shoulder of his suit. At first he thought it was a bit of the planet's toxic water that managed to leak from the surface, but as he brushed the liquid off of his suit he realized it was something thicker and jet black like the statue. Slowly he looked up and put his finger on the trigger of his blaster rifle, in case some sort of alien-type creature was hanging from the ceiling, where it watched him with its predatory gaze before it leaped down and eviscerated him with its claws and used its razor sharp teeth to disembowel his insides...
Tibri shook his head slightly to get the disturbing imagery out of his mind as he slowly looked up to see the source of the splashing. He was extremely relieved to see that there was nothing there but the dragon's head. As he looked even closer, he saw the source of the strange liquid came from the mouth of it. Another small droplet fell as he watched, he managed to sidestep it and it splashed against the floor of the stone basin. His curiosity quickly got the better of him and he dropped his gear before he began to scale the statue, the stone was cold to the touch as he clumsily climbed up with his survival suit.
Suddenly a voice rang through his intercom, which almost caused him to slip as he gripped the stone tightly. "Tibri, you're heart rate is spiking, is something wrong?" He recognized the voice on the other end as his panther commander, Panzer.
"I'm fine, just doing a little above in beyond in the research department." Tibri replied, his breath slightly labored as he began to scale up the dragon's neck. "There's a strange substance coming from this fountain, it's not like the toxic water on the surface. I'm going to take a sample."
"Just don't break your neck rookie, I don't feel like dragging your sorry hide to the tunnel sled so they can shuttle you to med bay." Panzer scathed. Tibri sighed and just continued to climb up the black statue. By now he had reached the head, he used the dragon's smooth horns as handholds as he stepped between the ridges. He was extremely high up, and despite the terror of climbing an ancient structure he felt a certain excitement from it. It was something he never expected to do, his adrenaline was through the roof and his heart was thumping wildly in his chest as he carefully wedged his boots within the still sharp-looking teeth of the dragon's maw.
With a careful swing Tibri launched himself into the mouth; the space more than accommodated his form. Inside was a sight that caused him to gasp, it was an alien skeleton that was almost perfectly intact from what he could tell. It was huddled in the back in an almost fetal position, and its bones seemed to be malformed or twisted in some fashion. The bones were surrounded by a pool of the mystery fluid, which filled the entirety of the statue's mouth.
"Amazing..." Tibri exclaimed breathlessly. "Simply amazing... a lost alien species... I'm going to get at least two research papers out of this one." He took a small sample jar out of his suit's pocket and collected a small amount of the black substance to analyze it in the ship's lab. It had a slime-like consistency to it as he sealed it inside of the jar and put it away inside his specimen bag on his back. Then he slowly grabbed one of the small toes of the skeleton to collect it, but as soon as he touched it the whole thing crumbled into dust.
"Uh... crap..." he said as the dust collected into the black substance and seemed to harden it. "I hope there are other skeletons out there... I think I'm just going to pretend it wasn't there." He slowly lowered himself down the statue the same way he got up, but as he reached one of the statue's wings his boot slipped and fell the remaining two stories to the fountain's basin. He let out a sharp yelp as he hit the stone basin on his back; luckily the suit had a little bit of padding on it but it still hurt like all hell as his face tightened up in a grimace from the shooting pains.
As he began to roll on his side to take the pressure of his aching back, he suddenly heard his intercom crackle to life with "Tibri, we got a spike on your vital readings, are you ok? If you don't respond within thirty seconds the security squad will fall on your position." He recognized it as the ship's primary medical officer, Samson, a rather nice-looking fox male with a lithe, athletic body and soft fur that just brushed against his arm as he examined him...
Tibri just shook his head, now was not the time for daydreams, especially in such a place as he was in. "I'm fine Samson, just tripped a little that's all." He tried to replied as cheerfully as possible as he struggled to get back to his feet.
"Aw, that's good." Samson replied. "I have a message from Aran, he wants you to come back and help him with some extremely important lab work. Sorry to end your first expedition short."
"Alright, I'll be right up." Tibri sighed before he signed out of the communicator. One of the curses of being on a small research vessel was the fact that the scientists had to sometimes cross task with others to get things done. After he informed the team leader of the situation, he drudged back to the teleportation probe and, after he took one last look at the lost civilization, warped back up to the Silvercobra.
**************************************
In orbit above the dead planet, a long silver ship drifted purposefully through the black void. Tibri shuddered as his body was reassembled molecule by molecule in a fraction of a second. He quickly stepped off the platform and grabbed onto the railing to steady himself and try not to throw up into his suit. The whole process seemed to never agree with him, though this time was the worst out of all of them. But as much as he wanted to rip off the suit and go into the shower, he had to go through the painfully slow process of decontamination. He stumbled into the electrosonic shower apparatus and waited for the door to close and the transistors to charge. A few seconds later his fur stood straight out as the electrostatic waves washed over him and his contamination suit.
On the other side of the containment doors, a lithe red wolf waited on the bench as the indicator lights slowly flashed red. The second it turned green he got to his feet and walked over to the door, slightly surprised as the tiger flopped out into his arms. He just managed to catch him before he hit the floor, then grabbed the hood and ripped it off of him. Tibri gasped slightly, the wolf was quickly concerned at his state.
"Tibri, are you ok?" He asked as he tried to pour a little water into the tiger's mouth, which he quickly began to gulp down. His eyes fluttered open and his body began to move a little better, the wolf took the water away and fanned Tibri's face to try and get him a little more air. Before long it seemed that he made a full recovery, and together the two managed to get the tiger to sit upright. "That was a pretty bad trip this time, wasn't it?"
Tibri nodded while he grabbed the water bottle from his friend and drained it. "Thanks Aki, you're the best." Akidumaru, or Aki as Tibri called him, had been the tiger's friend all through training aboard the Silvercobra, and also worked with him despite the fact he worked in sensors and astrometrics. "Yeah, that was rough... I think maybe the atmosphere has something to do with it. Hopefully they can recalibrate it before the rest of the group comes up."
"Don't worry; I'll get Syr'kan to take a look at it." Aki replied as he took the tiger under his arm and helped him to his feet. "Do you want me to help you back to your room?"
"Nah, I have to report to the lab." Tibri replied as he used the wolf to steady himself. He managed to stand up on his own two feet and brushed himself off. "Besides, I'm fine now, just had to rest for a little bit. I should get going before Aran gets too upset that I haven't showed up."
"Alright, fine." Aki huffed slightly, obviously annoyed at the tiger's persistence. Tibri had to continue to look strong though, he didn't want to look weak in front of the other crew members, especially since they had taken a big chance to hire him fresh out of school. The two walked down the ship corridors and talked for a while, mainly about what Tibri had seen down in the cavern city. When they reached the ship's biological sciences lab, Aki gave him a hug and told him to be careful before he moved on to the front of the ship and the astrometrics lab. The tiger took a second to watch the wolf walk off and took a second to indulge in the guilty pleasure of admiring his toned form, then took a deep breath to give him strength before he walked through the sliding metal door into the lab.
"Late again Tibri!" A rather angry lion shouted from behind the stainless steel table filled with measuring instruments. "When I have someone call you back to the ship, you get your striped ass back to the ship immediately! Not twenty minutes ago. I'm still the senior scientist in this department and you better damn well listen to me if you want to have anything to do besides scrub petri dishes."
Tibri tried not to show his discontent and force a smile as he replied "sorry Aran, won't happen again. What did you need me to do?" Out of all the people on the ship, he mused, he had to get the most foul-tempered and hard to work with as a boss. Aran seemed to have hated Tibri right on the spot, possibly because he saw the young, edger siberian tiger as his eventual replacement on the Silvercobra's crew. Or possibly it was because Tibri got a spot on the primary exploration team while Aran and his bum leg had to sit up on the ship. No matter what the reason though, it seemed as though the lion went out of his way to make his life miserable. As he hung up his survival suit and put the specimen bag he had collected in the deep freezer, he chanted over and over in his mind that he wasn't going to like what he had in store for him.
It turned out, much to Tibri's chagrin, that the 'important lab work' Aran needed him for was his polymer bio-suit design. It was important work, organic latex embedded with microprocessors and crystalline circuitry allowed not only for maximum movement in the harshest of environments, even the void of space for a limited time, but also augmented abilities such as strength, dexterity, perception, and other useful physical traits. What caused the tiger to cringe was that Aran had been working on it for the last four years, and that the lion had called him up in order to run several meaningless tests meant that he had just cut his expedition trip short to be spiteful. Despite the obvious sabotage, he knew that unless he wanted to complain to the captain he would have to just grin and bear the extraneous work and hope that he would have a chance to go back to the field.
"Alright, that's enough for now." Aran said roughly as he hopped gingerly off the stool and limped over to the containment field generator. Tibri breathed a sigh of relief; they had spent several hours in tense silence while they configured the computer system to generate a form-fitting suit that could match the wearer's biometrics, a complex series of sprayers were set up in a small anti-gravity chamber to help stabilize the bonds. "It's almost lights out for the ship, if you want to get something to eat you better hurry before Taz closes down the kitchen for the night." Tibri just nodded and watched as Aran touched the fingerprint scanner and activated the particle field, a hazy blue glow quickly surrounded the matrix they had built as well as a container which contained the biopolymer that the suit would be constructed with. While the primary purpose was to prevent contamination, Aran grumbled in the back of his head that it was probably because the old lion thought he was going to steal his work or something.
Tibri's bad mood continued to fester as he quickly left the lab and wound his way down to the mess hall. The Silvercobra wasn't a big ship by any stretch of the imagination, enough room for ten people to live and work comfortably, so by the time he reached the kitchen he was still upset at what Aran had done to him. He did smile a little when he saw the lights to the kitchen on, while he could have still gotten something from the food processing unit he would take freshly cooked food any day of the week.
"Hey buddy, what's your pleasure?" A snow leopard, probably no older then Tibri, said from behind the sneeze guard.
"Just give me whatever's hot and ready Taz." Tibri replied as he grabbed a tray. He knew it was close to his shut down time, so he didn't want to be too much of a bother on the poor cook.
"Sure thing, it'll take a few minutes to heat up so have a seat." Taz instructed as he pointed to an empty table with a pair of salad tongs. "You're going to be my last guest of the night, so if you don't mind I'm going to keep closing up while it cooks." The tiger nodded and went over to one of the stainless steel tables, Taz's head dipped out of site and the clang of metal against metal could be heard. After a surprisingly short amount of time he reappeared with two trays of steaming hot food, and proceeded to walk over with them over to where he had sat down.
"I could have gotten it Taz, you didn't need to bring it for me." Tibri said. He tried to be cautious on how he said it; he didn't want to offend the leopard.
It brought him back to the first time he has seen Taz, it was just after his first week of training and with him turned to the side to work on his and Aki's food he had only seen a young, well-muscled male with thick white fur with cute black marks on it. When he had turned to give it to them, however, he almost dropped his plate from the shock.
Taz had been part of the infinity division when he first signed up for service, planned to be a lifer just like his father and his father before him. However, on his first tour of combat to quell an invasion of a mining colony his young career was cut short as a mine blew up where the soldier next to him had been unfortunate enough to step on. He survived, but they had to replace his left arm, leg, and eye with cybernetic prosthetics. Plus the shrapnel from the blast caused deep scars on his face, neck, and side, which permanently disfigured him. The worst part, as he had told Tibri between his profuse apologies at being startled, was that he was given an honorable discharge from the army the very next day.
"Like I said, you were the last call of the night." Taz replied in his usual good humor, which snapped him out his memory. "Plus I heard what happened with your expedition being cut short because of Aran. Tough break buddy."
The frustrated tiger sighed and started to chew on what looked to be an entire roasted chicken on his plate. "I know he's my superior, but he's such a jerk!" He blurted out, which almost knocked over their drinks as he hit the table in frustration. "I was supposed to be collecting samples down there all day and instead I had to work in the lab with nothing but Aran. Why should my work have to suffer just because he's jealous that I got to go planetside? I know I'm new and have to learn the ropes, but I'm missing out on the find of a century so I could help him with his little pet project."
"That is rough." Taz said simply. "But you know that ole lion is just being snarky because he's scared of your potential and that he'll lose his position on the Silvercobra." He paused for a second as he ripped a chunk out of his food, which almost took the bone with it. "What you need to be," he continued with the bone now used for emphasis, "is more assertive. Don't be defiant, but act with confidence. Eventually he'll recognize you as a competent scientist and begrudge you a little respect. If not, he'll continue to act poorly and the captain will toss him on his ear at the next port."
"I suppose..." Tibri sighed. The two continued to talk about his brief journey down in the caverns while they ate. When he was finished, the tiger thanked Taz for the company and the meal and set his dishes into the cleaner before he left. He started to stagger as he reached his quarters, a sudden wave of tiredness washed over him as he stumbled past the door and took several steps to his bed. As soon as he got close he flopped down, now thankful that the rooms were relatively small as he managed to crawl underneath the covers. As he settled in he heard the soft snores of Aki in the bed on the other side of the room, he semi-wished he could have talked to him a bit, but as the darkness settled over his eyes and he drifted off he was glad he could finally get some rest...
*****************************************************
When Tibri opened his eyes again, he found his vision to be extremely blurred and low to the ground, like he was on the floor. He also realized it was extremely cold, colder than he had ever felt before. Suddenly he started to move as though he slinked on the floor, his body felt extremely alien as 'he' started to move towards the edge of something round, avoiding what looked like giant pieces of glass as 'he' slid into the tube. The air suddenly propelled him forward with great speed, past strange devices that he could only glance at before he felt the sensation of falling again...
As he heard a wet plop sound his vision began to clear up, and he quickly realized that he was in the Silvercobra lab! This meant what he had just come out of the exhaust vent of the deep freeze storage locker... though he wasn't sure how he would have gotten past the extremely fine mesh over it. What he did know was that the warmth felt really good, and that he was still only an inch above the floor as 'he' started to slink along it.
Suddenly his vision blurred and shifted, and now he stood there in the lab in his own body, and only his body. He didn't remember how he reached the lab, perhaps he was still dreaming? It certainly seemed so, especially as he could feel himself blush as he realized his nakedness, though he made no move to hide himself. The other thing he noticed was what looked like a dragon that glowed with a mysterious white light that stood across from him, also quite naked as he, and it was definitely a he from the scaly sheath he was packing, walked over towards him. The dragon had a sly smile, he couldn't tell if it was happiness or amusement, as he walked over and put a hand on his face. It felt warm and strangely calmed the tiger even more, and also just a slight bit aroused at the touch.
"Thank you so much." The dragon said, his voice slightly echoed yet had a pleasant tone to it. "You have freed my kind from our imprisonment. Our gratitude knows no bounds, trust me in that you will be rewarded greatly for your services."
"Um... great." Tibri managed to reply, extremely confused at that moment. "How did I- mrrrf!" His question was quickly silenced as the dragon's mouth was upon him, his long tongue danced with the tiger's as he gripped the steel table to brace himself. The tiger's cock was now out at full attention and his eyes drooped slightly as he took in more and more of the dragon's intoxicating kiss. It was an otherworldly intimacy, he could feel tendrils of cold ruffle against his fur and the dragon was transparent like a spirit, but as their bodies pressed together he felt more real than anyone else he had ever been with. Tibri's thoughts were quickly being clouded over as the dragon's breath filled his lungs during their passionate kiss. His vision also became increasingly foggy, as though covered with a thin layer of frost.
To anyone else observing, they would have seen Tibri toss himself backwards against the lab table, then slowly opened his mouth and arched his back in a look of pure bliss as his eyes seemed to grow a milky white film over them. To him, the ghostly dragon broke the long kiss, white wisps of smoke trailed out of both their mouth and noses as the tiger looked back down at him with a blank expression.
"I want to help you so badly..." the dragon cooed as he stroked his talons down Tibri's hair. "But in this form I can't do anything but interact with you this way. And as fun as this is, we have to get moving. What I need you to do is open the energy field around that experiment of yours... you're the only one who can do it for me."
"Experiment..." Tibri replied blankly, his slouched to the side slightly as he slowly turned towards the control panel. Somewhere in the back of his clouded mind he remembered just why it would be a bad idea. "Aran... no..."
A flash of frustration seemed to flash through the dragon's form before he returned to his seductive nature; he placed a scaled hand against the tiger's still hard erection and gently rubbed against it with a palm. This caused a low growl of pleasure to emanate from deep within the tiger; his entire body shuddered against that singular touch. All his being focused on that touch, silently he craved more of that exotic feeling against his member. He was so enraptured on it that he didn't even notice the draconic apparition was behind him, its other paw pressed against his abs.
"I can see you respond well to motivation." The dragon purred with a grin as Tibri felt the cool pleasure of his touch seem to permeate throughout his entire body, entwined around every nerve... "Unfortunately we have to hurry; I don't have much time left before all is for naught. I'll tell you what, for every step you take towards deactivating the field, I'll make it worth your while. C'mon, let's have some fun."
Tibri took a few seconds as his lust-addled mind processed the information the dragon gave to him. Very slowly he took a tentative step forward, and felt the hand on his shaft begin to stroke in earnest. It almost caused his knees to buckle, but he felt the dragon as he supported him from behind. When he was able to regain enough composure he took another step towards the wall, this time he felt something gently rub against his tailhole. He quickly realized that the dragon was fully erect as well, his tapered, slightly spiny length teased between his furry cheeks. This spurred him to start to move forward again with halted steps as he felt the thick cock push into his ass.
By the time the two made it to the wall Tibri was forced against it with a violent thrust, the thick cock that ravaged his ass pounded hard. His own hips bucked back, both to get the dragon's member further inside him, and to hump against the dragon's paw. Suddenly their furious mating grounded to a screeching halt as the dragon quickly pulled out, which almost caused the young Siberian to collapse in a heap if he wasn't pressed against the metal wall. After a few seconds of heavy panting he realized where he was, and looked up to see the containment field panel right next to him. He knew what he had to do, what he...it wanted him to do, and shakily his hand started to reach up towards it. It seemed like an eternity for him to raise it, and for a second he thought he would falter until a scaled hand grabbed his and helped it up to the scanner.
As his handprint was scanned the tiger looked back at the dragon, surprised to see a warm, genuine smile on his face. He couldn't help but return it; even as he deactivated the field his eyes never left the dragons'. When the field was down, they shared another kiss, this one more tender then the first they shared.
"You did so well Tibri." The dragon said as he nuzzled against Tibri's neck. "I knew as soon as I sensed you that you'd be the one. This will be the start of something wonderful... but for now," he squeezed the tiger's still hard cock with a grin, "let's take care of your 'little' problem you have."
********************************************************************
Aran woke up the next day with the usual aches in his joints, he looked over to see his roommate Taz wasn't there thankfully and he could groan as loud as he wanted as he got up. He was thankful that they were able to keep the gravity rather low in the room; it was far less effort to get himself up. As he walked up to the shower, he noticed a peculiar smell in the air... which seemed to radiate from his roommate's bed. He cringed slightly, he knew all males had needs, but if he had to masturbate could he at least do it in the shower?
After a long, hot shower and a quick MRE from his own personal stash, as he didn't feel like interaction with the crew, he got dressed and walked down to his lab. When he walked in he found, much to his relief, that he would be alone for at least a little while. The last thing he wanted was banter with the other scientists, or even worse for that Siberian tiger to actually be here doing work. He realized the tiger was a junior member of the crew, but to have to be stuck being his supervisor... and then the captain allowed him to go on the expedition before him! So what if it was harder for him to move... and at least he got to wipe that smug grin off his face when he cut his little trip to the surface short.
As he started to get himself back to work, he quickly noticed another particular odor that seemed to waft around the lab faintly... or rather, the same odor. When he realized what it was, it quickly brought his blood to a boil. Someone... or possibly even worse two male crewmates, dared to defile his lab with their sexual deviancy!? Whoever it was, Aran was sure he was going to make them pay for ruining his immaculate area...
Just as he got to the comm panel to raise hell with the captain, an even more disturbing image caught his eye. A blue indicator light warned him that the containment field had been deactivated during the night. His blind rage quickly turned to focused fear, what if someone deliberately sabotaged his project because they hated his genius, or even just to spite him?
All thoughts of the captain and his earful forgotten, he limped over as fast as he could to the zero gravity chamber that cased his project. Much to his relief everything looked to be the same as before, with everything in its exact spot as when he left for the night. Before his heart had a chance to calm down, however, he noticed the computer's activation protocols had started and the whole system was about to turn on its run cycle.
Aran was in utter shock; he had spent half a decade on the exosuit and the only thing that he had left was to program the computer to run the subroutines to construct it. But like in some sort of surreal dream not only was the computer completely up but also looked like it was about to work for the first time. In the back of his mind he was upset it was not him that first activated it, but as the thing he obsessed on for years looked like it was about to come to fruition his former anger was quickly stifled. In seconds all the machinery turned on and the nozzles began to spray the black latex into the zero-gravity chamber. The quickly growing blob of latex began to take shape as unseen sonic forces molded it, and within the span of three minutes a fully-formed set of shiny black greaves floated there.
He was almost afraid to open the chamber, afraid the biolatex mixture would melt in his fingers and he'd be back to square one. His curiosity got the better of him though and he quickly retrieved the leg armor; which remained firm but had a definite give when he held it in his hands. As he ran his fingers over the slick material tears almost came to his eyes, he realized he may have finally developed something that would get him recognized in the world as the brilliant scientist that he was. Not to mention the patents alone... just the thought of it brought an excitement that he hadn't felt in years.
Of course, just because it looked nice didn't mean that they actually worked. Any production facility can make an entire latex suit... his had to do what he promised their investors it would do. Normal protocol dictated that he make the report of the experiment, then send it back to the government and corporate contacts that fund them... but the end product almost seemed like they just begged him to put them on. Part of the reason for his devotion to this project was to try and restore function to his slowly deteriorating body, and now that possibility was literally in his hands.
His hands shook slightly as once more his curiosity got the better of him and he slowly slipped on the leggings. The cool material slipped on easily, his fur didn't even get in the way as they slid effortlessly into position. Almost immediately he felt an electric tingle arch up his body while his fur fluffed out slightly, then nothing as he stood there in the form-fitting greaves. He feared he may have gotten his biometric readings wrong, as he had to program every aspect of his physical body into the computer for the circuitry to work, but when he took his first pain-free step those fears quickly vanished. He slowly started to walk around, for the first time in years without a limp, and as his joy rose he moved faster and faster around the tables. There was a giddy energy as he performed a few tentative jumps, even up to the point where he was able to do a somersault in the air.
Finally he had to stop to catch his breath, but was still happy. They worked, they actually worked... now he could even go on the expedition and nose that stupid Siberian tiger out of his position! He was so happy he had to brace himself to keep himself upright, and his happy energy turned to a wince as he felt an all too familiar pain in his arms. In his excited state he forgot the biosuit can only affect the body parts it's attached too, and right now all that was covered was his legs. He cursed under his breath, even with his new and improved legs there was no way the captain would clear him to go.
Almost as if the experiment could read his mind, he heard the sprayers kick in once more. It was almost too good to be true; right before his eyes a pair of black latex bracers quickly formed in the chamber. When the buzzer signaled the end of the curing process, he almost slammed open the door to grab his new prize. By now he had thrown all caution to the wind and slid the bracers on, and once more the latex conformed to his arms almost like a second skin. Immediately he felt the same tingle that suffused through his body, and it made his arms and shoulders feel like they were twenty years old again.
"I can take on the universe with these..." he grinned to himself as he flexed his arms; the shiny latex seemed to make them even larger than before. He ran around the lab, experimentally lifted and pressed against certain things just to see if he could. What he found was that not only did he no longer feel any pain in his joints, but that his normally feeble muscles lifted up to five times what he normally could. It wasn't superhuman by any stretch, but it was certainly an amazing improvement. The only thing that really stopped him from was that he once again ran out of breath and had to stop as his heart pounded in his chest...
As he walked back to his experiment once more he was slightly disappointed that the computer and sprayers weren't on. Perhaps it was a little too much to hope for... the fact that he had augmented arms and legs amazed him enough. All he had to do was figured out how the computer matrix reacted with the latex and he would have a full suit perhaps by the end of the expedition. But for now, he would have to clean out the instruments to try and avoid waste of the biolatex.
Aran gasped loudly and almost stumbled backwards as he opened the zero-gravity chamber. A shimmer had caught the bottom of his eye, and he was amazed to find a full latex 'shirt' on the bottom grid. He quickly regained himself and almost lunged for it, a loud happy growl escaped his throat as he rubbed the shiny fabric almost lovingly against his face. After a quick look to see if anyone was watching, he stripped off his long shirt and lab coat and quickly pulled it over his head. This time the effect the latex had on his body was far more dramatic; as soon as it was all the way on the paunch of fat around his midsection seemed to melt away and he found himself with a decent set of pecs and abs. When he ran his fingers down his new physique, he noticed the latex had adopted an interesting scale pattern, though he just assumed fur would have been too hard to try and replicate.
When he took his next breath it was as if a huge weight was lifted off his chest, and his heart thumped strongly as a strong tingle radiated out of his body. This was now more than just his former youth he regained, this was about power, and the fact he had it. He didn't care it was just his suit that artificially augmented him; to him it was all his newly bulked physique, a new lease on life though his new body. No way could Captain Tobias push him around now, he could finally dump that newbie and continue to do the work HE wanted.
But isn't there something missing? A voice seemed to whisper in the back of his mind. It didn't sound like his voice, but he also knew that it was right, there was something he missed that could increase his power even further. He walked back to the chamber; at the same time he still admired and flexed his new body while he did. In his mind he knew what he needed, and when he greedily opened the chamber and grabbed the full latex mask and pulled it out. Strangely, unlike the other parts of the suit this one didn't conform to his body, instead it looked like the black latex head of some sort of dragon like he once saw on the cover of a fantasy book their idiot chef left around.
It didn't matter to him, even though it didn't match his face perfectly he could still see how it worked and make adjustments to it later. Without a moment's hesitancy he slid the mask over his head, his world went black for a second before his vision cleared. Immediately everything became sharper, all his senses heightened to a point he hadn't felt since he was a young kid. He smiled inside the mask; he could show everyone now that they made a big mistake when they tried to keep him in a corner because of his age.
"Well, aren't you the ambitious one?" He suddenly heard the voice again, only instead of a little voice in his mind it was a strong, dominant one right next to him. Aran quickly spun around, ready to use his newly augmented self to whip this person down. What he saw was something far different than he expected, a dragon that seemed to be a solid white. He knew it wasn't any of the crew, or even anything that existed as far as he knew, so what was it? Perhaps one of those stupid holograms that Tyson seemed to enjoy unleashing upon his crewmates.
The dragon seemed to smile at him as he moved even closer to him. "Oh, I'm nothing you've experienced before; I can assure you of that." The old lion tried to move away, but he found himself unable to move a muscle of his new, powerful body as the dragon invaded his bubble. "Your energy is a little... stale, but I like your enthusiasm. It's really too bad that you have to be such a dick to everyone. Your personality is so abrasive... I know you're on in years, but that's no excuse. It's really a shame that no one is going to miss you, though it makes me feel a little less bad for what I have to do."
Aran felt absolute outrage that this creature chided him, but as he tried to voice his displeasure he found his voice didn't work. He struggled against his invisible bonds, but his muscles continued to rebel against him. What the hell is going on here!? He thought in rage, the only thing he could do. What is this thing? Someone help!
"No one is coming to help you." The dragon said with the slightest hint of a grin. "No one would. I've had the luxury of a little time while waiting for you, and the general thoughts of you are pretty much what I've stated before. I think they're going to like me far more then you." Aran's rage quickly turned to fear as he saw the dragon's body dissipated; those last words haunted him as he once more tried to move, to run. Unfortunately despite the presence gone he was still frozen in place, completely helpless.
Suddenly the loud sound of metal ripping filled his ears as he saw the biolatex tank rupture, the black goo quickly spilled out of the hole and pooled on the floor. It didn't stay there long however, latex 'snakes' over a foot long and thick as his wrist formed and began to slither their way towards him. His panic mode increased tenfold as the first latex snake reached him and began to climb up his leg. There was nothing he could do to stop it, the latex moved unimpeded as it reached his tailhole and he could feel a strange, cool pressure as it settled between his cheeks and around his tail. It was quickly joined by another one that slithered up his front, which flattened and filled his sheath as the latex joined together. To anyone who didn't know, it would have looked like he wore a pair of extremely form-fitting, thick boxer-briefs.
In the next instant if the lion could have screamed, he would have as his anal ring was suddenly stretched open. There was a flash of pain, but as the invader squirmed its way in his muscles seemed to relax against the lion's want to clench. The cool, slippery tentacle then moved easily into him, and when it reached his prostrate it slammed against it. The pleasure almost blinded him, against his will his maleness began to spill out of his sheath, coated in the same black latex. Instead of his feline cock, however, an almost foot-long monstrosity complete with scaled ridges and a tapered end came to full attention. Then, when he thought it couldn't get any worse, a small slit appeared on the tip as the latex began to slide into his urethra.
While he was preoccupied with the dual invaders he didn't notice as the rest of the latex, which had divided up into a number of shiny black snakes, began their final process of assimilation. One wrapped around each of his hands and feet before it molded around them, then formed into latex dragon hands and feet. The pieces already on his body shimmered slightly as the latex crawled and wrapped around his body, small tendrils appeared on the edges to meld with the liquid latex that filled in the furred gaps between it. His already augmented muscles swelled out further as he could feel it seep into his body, which looked more and more like a dragon and less like the lion he used to be. Even his last vestige, his tail, quickly thickened out as a latex tentacle wrapped around it and formed a thick reptilian version of it.
Despite his entire body covered by the black substance there was still one particularly large latex 'snake' left that slithered around his neck. The things had already stolen his body from him, what more could this thing do to him? His thoughts were quickly answered as the latex mouth on the mask opened by itself. The latex creature quickly stuffed itself into the newly opened maw, all of Aran's senses quickly blacked out as he could feel the liquid invade every open orifice it could find. He tried to shut it out, tried to somehow push it out, but it quickly seeped through his skull and seemed to permeate into his brain. There was nothing he could do, his previous feelings of power and control had been completely replaced with powerlessness and fear. As blackness flooded his vision and mind, his last conscious thought was that no one would know he was the original discoverer...
The whole process only took a minute; the latex maw shuddered and contorted as it seemed to gain its own semblance of life. The entire head snapped back and forth as the jaws opened wide; the black latex liquid inside quickly seemed to solidify and engulf the fleshy lion's head inside. By the time the jaws closed, a new latex dragon was reborn.
As the new creature opened his purple eyes he struggled to keep a hold of his new senses. A few more shakes of the head cleared the last of the fog, and his hands began to roam over his smooth latex scales as he broke out into a smirk. He couldn't believe it had worked, that he was more than a barely-sentient pile of ooze just a few minutes ago. "Goodbye dear Aran." He said in a mocking tone to himself as he rubbed against his chest scales. "You will not be missed." When he reached his new sheath he smiled a little, he would have to put it too good use. He gave it a squeeze, a soft murr of pleasure escaped his lips as he could feel a strong tingle of pleasure emanate from it.
Just as he was about to start get into himself, he suddenly seemed to snap out of it and shook his head. He had a mission, and if his senses were correct he needed to find him quickly...
