Alissa wakes up, staring at the ceiling of her home, most "graciously" given to her, as they had been given to every inhabitant of Mobotropolis. During her youth in the uncertain times of Robotnik's coup and assaults, there was nothing like the luxury of a home for people like her. They were people who lived on the fringes of the walled city and were forced to scramble together for a few spare Mobiums to get by. When she slides out of bed, she stretches, old scars aching, never letting her forget the type of person she is, deep down inside.
She could never get used to how comfortable life is in a post-Eggman world. War and struggle are no longer certainties, and the oh-so-magnanimous government provides housing for everyone. She even has a basement now. What the hell is she supposed to do with that? Invite people over and wine and dine like all the fake women out there, pretending that everything is alright with the world?
Fuck that.
Maybe she'll turn it into a workout room, get some equipment and improve herself. But after breakfast, she'll go for a moonlit run, unbothered by the early birds of the world and working to keep herself fit and ready. Because she wants to be prepared for anything, she needs to be.
Because of her.
She stretches right by the doorway in her sports bra and jogging shorts, her ears twitching.
Someone's coming. A visitor; they're always an annoyance.
When she opens the door, she's ready to bark at the solicitor and send them running with their tail between their legs. Instead, she gets the white-hot flash of pain right against her nose, sending her stumbling back into her foyer, the coppery taste of blood trickling down her snout to her lips.
"Thought I'd give you a home visit, bitch." It was the voice of that loathsome soul. That stuck up, hoity-toity pretender of struggle. Here--in Alissa's home!
Stepping into the threshold is that chipmunk that everyone loves oh-so-much, the hero that helped save the world multiple times from various threats--the one and only princess Sally Acorn.
But Alissa had seen through the woman's fakeness, even from a young age. The "tomboy princess" always came around to the poor folk. Back then, Alissa had called her out for never knowing what it was honestly like to struggle.
Sally called her a bully, and Alissa called her a phony. The words got harsher, and the arguments were more aggressive. Neither could make the other back down, and one night, they threw the first punches at each other in a rain-soaked alleyway.
Alissa spits out some of the blood, standing up, growling, but Sally doesn't let her get up. The princess rushes forward, kicking Alissa square in the chest.
Alissa rolls back, tumbling to her feet, and rushes forward, spinning around and kicking the princess right in the stomach. "Out of my house!" she roars.
"Make me!" Sally says, dodging a swipe of Alissa's fist, only to grab the wolf by the arm, lifting her up in her momentum, and throwing her through the front room.
Alissa crashes against the coffee table, the wood splintering, slivers poking into her back.
Sally hops off of Alissa's couch, spinning through the air and ax kicking down at her opponent.
Alissa responds by rolling out of the way, grabbing the broken leg, and swinging it at the side of Sally's head.
Breathing heavily, Alissa stands up, tossing the wood aside. She cracks her neck and watches as Sally groans, pushing herself up, blood trickling down the side of her face.
Sally scowls, and Alissa gestures her forward. The princess responds by tackling the wolf, the two stumbling over Alissa's couch.
The furniture falls back, and Alissa tumbles over the cushions. She pulls up her legs, pushing Sally with her knees, knocking the chipmunk onto her back. Alissa tears a pillow off the couch and shoves it against Sally's face.
"I'm so fucking sick and tired of you!" Alissa roars. "Just fucking die, you stupid slut!"
A bright blade shoots up from the cushion, and Alissa only has a moment to dodge out of the way as the thing cuts at her cheek, sending burning pain through her face. She rolls out of the way, her lips quivering in a feral snarl. "Got to use your weapons to fight me? I should have known you were a poser!"
Sally tosses the pillow half aside and hops to her feet. Her holo-blades retract back into her bracelets. "You started it!" She shouts, pointing to her bleeding temple.
Alissa smirks. "Yeah, well, we're allowed to defend our home however we want, right?"
"Fuck you," Sally says, rushing forward.
Alissa gets down and sweeps at Sally's leg. Still, Sally leaps up over her, landing behind the wolf and spinning around, grappling her from behind. Alissa snarls and rolls forward, throwing the chipmunk to the ground in front of her.
The wolf hops up and stomps down at Sally's chest, but she rolls out of the way, hopping back up to her feet.
The two rush at each other again, grabbing each other's shoulders, claws and nails digging into each other as they push, struggle and loose footing. They are so evenly matched that the two of them stumble off to the side, toppling over the broken coffee table. Their weight sends them fumbling, holding onto one another, and heading towards the open basement door!

Sally's life had always seemed to be one of hardship. It was either from taking the mantle of leadership at a young age during the Eggman takeover or her own making when she decided to lead the Freedom Fighters to protect all the other oppressed peoples.
Though she put on a content face in front of all of her friends, she knew it was all a burden to her, and it was one that she didn't take lightly.
So, whenever that layabout Alissa would demean or belittle her contributions, it awakened something within her. It was something Sally had pushed deep down inside that not even the people closest to her, not even Nicole, fully understood.
But Alissa does...
