Episode 7:
I never stopped loving you
"I absolutely want to see you guys! It's been several weeks!" Ivory spoke into her cell phone eagerly.
"I want to see you again too, how about this Friday? Me and Isaac could meet you for dinner and drinks." The voice on the other line was her best friend, Karen.
Ivory looked at the calendar in her kitchen and flicked her tail. "Hmm... yeah that sounds good." The cat purred to herself as she thought for a moment then spoke again, "I don't want to be a third wheel, I think I will bring Joe with me."
Silence filled the line for several moments before Karen responded, "You think that's a good idea?"
"Hmm... not really, but I'll do it anyway," Ivory purred in response.
"I just don't want to harass the poor fox, that's all," The rabbit spoke with concern in her voice.
"Yeah well, that 'poor fox' has been banging me for almost a full season now. He says he loves me all the time, shit I think he would marry me if he could!" Ivory laughed and held a padded-palm to her face, feeling her cheeks warm through her fur.
"I knew you guys were seeing each other, but I didn't think it was getting so serious so quickly," Karen spoke with shock in her voice.
"Screw you, bunny. You went from single to married in less than a year! Hell, you guys had moved in together by now!" Ivory huffed but did so playfully as she grinned.
"Ha! Guess I've got no right to judge then. Truth be told I miss him, it will be nice to see him again." Ivory could hear the cheerfulness creeping into Karen's voice as she spoke.
"H-hey now... don't go getting fresh with my fox now that he is legal, Karen!" Ivory huffed playfully.
A giggle filled the speaker of the phone, "Don't worry, Isaac is all the dog I need!"
"Phew... are you all he needs, you can share that wolf anytime with me, Karen!" Ivory purred, knowing it would get a rise from her.
"Hey!" Karen snapped out with a huff.
"I'm fucking with you, relax!" The cat grinned wide and flicked her tail about.
The rabbit let out a little huff before responding, "So Friday, maybe around nine?"
"Sounds good to me, let's hash the details out over the next few days." Ivory nodded.
They made a little more small talk then ended the call. Ivory slid the phone into the pocket of her jeans and grinned to herself. She was eager to see the rabbit again, it had been a while.
Joseph came out of her bedroom a few minutes later, giving a lazy sleepy yawn as he ran his fingers through his mussed bed hair. His locks had gotten a little longer at the tips from him growing it out but still remained fairly short since it had only been a few months since he decided to.
Ivory had been in the middle of singing a soft melody when she saw the fox out of the corner of her eye and smiled, "Morning, hun. Want me to make you a cup of coffee?" Ivory purred, walking over to the fox and kissing his muzzle gently.
"I love your singing..." He growled against her lips, returning the kiss and moving his paw over to grab her backside, pulling her against his chest. Ivory giggled softly and sighed as she felt the fox start down her throat with his good morning kisses.
She purred and let him kiss along her throat for a few moments before gently pushing away from him, "I offered you coffee, not me! You horny mutt!" She spoke with a grin, "Didn't you get enough of me last night?"
"I doubt I'm ever going to get enough of you, baby," Joseph growled before moving over to snag a mug from the cabinet and pour himself a cup of coffee.
Ivory smiled and let him sip the coffee and wake up a little more before finally speaking, "So... how about we go on a double date Friday?"
The fox perked his ears, "That sounds fun, with whom?"
"Karen and Isaac," The cat purred with a grin.
The fox froze at that for a long pause, Ivory saw him processing it in his brain. After several seconds Joseph took another pull of coffee before speaking, "Sure, we can do that."
"Are you sure?" Ivory quirked an ear as she looked over at her mate.
He shrugged a shoulder. "We've been dating for over three months now, and that was like a year and a half ago..."
"True, but are you sure you're gonna be cool seeing her again?" Ivory prodded the subject, just as much curious as concerned.
"I had feelings, she didn't return them. Shit..." The fox huffed and looked out of the kitchen at the balcony. "She called me out on it at the time, I hardly knew her. I was more in love with the idea of being in love with her than anything else. I was too afraid to come out and say how I felt and get to know her."
"True, but you used that experience with me, you got to know me and everything." Ivory shrugged and took Joseph's half drank coffee, taking a sip of it for herself before continuing, "I would have told you the same thing had you not taken the time to get to know me first."
The fox visibly shivered at the thought of it and put a handpaw on Ivory's hip. "I don't even want to think about it... You mean so much to me now..."
The cat grinned and set the coffee mug down before pushing up against the fox and hugging him tightly. "Ditto... you're everything to me, hun."
The two of them held one another for several long moments before looking into one another's eyes. Her bright blue eyes met his chestnut ones and they held the look for a few heartbeats before shoving their mouths together in a hungry kiss.
Ivory purred against his mouth, her tongue flicking against his own, their breath tasting of coffee. Joseph had his handpaws on her breasts, rubbing at them through her blouse, kneading them against one another.
Ivory gasped out and pulled from his lips, drooping her ears and huffing while he rubbed at her chest, "T-take it easy, Joe... You're gonna bruise them again..."
"S-sorry I just get so eager to touch you..." He growled into her flicking ear while sliding his paws over her hips now, circling around to grab the cat's rear.
"Huff! W-we don't have time this morning anyway! We've both gotta be at work in like twenty minutes!" Ivory panted and shoved her face to his chest, nuzzling it while he rubbed her backside.
"Damn... can't we just be a little late?" The fox growled before circling his handpaws to the front of Ivory's pants, tugging the button free and unzipping them, showing off the red panties she had on.
"N-no we can't! We've been late twice this week already!" Ivory panted before pulling from his grip and zipping her pants back up. "You're just gonna have to wait my fox."
Joseph let out a fussy bark before growling and pulling his paws back. "Tch... fine..."
Ivory gave him a smile and blushed, "Well if you're still chomping at the bit, we can always slip into your car during lunch..." Her tail flicked and coiled while purring the words.
"R-really?!" He spoke excitedly his tail wagging faster now. Ivory just smiled and rolled her eyes.

The work dragged on until it was time for their lunch, then the place started hopping, giving each of them a fairly short break they had to split up. Crystal and Suzanne came in to relieve them when the afternoon shift began.
Ivory gave Crystal the pass down on things before clocking out but another rush came in before Joseph clocked out, so he remained on the clock to help the persian and mouse deal with the customers. Ivory had already clocked out so she had no choice but to sit in the lobby and wait on the fox to finish, corporate would flip their shit over her clocking back in or working off the clock..
Half an hour later the crowds died off enough for Joseph to pull away and clock out. Crystal met him at the terminal in the back and grinned. "Thanks for sticking around and helping."
The fox shrugged and gave the persian a smile, "No problem, I'm sure Ivory would have helped too had she not already logged out."
"Ha... lucky her..." Crystal purred then put a finger to her cheek in thought. "I don't get the chance to talk to you much these days without her nearby. How are things going with you two?"
His large brown and red ears perked up at the question as he thought about it for a moment, "Erm... are you asking me as a manager or-"
"Relax Joe, I'm just making conversation!" She purred and gave a playful roll of her eyes.
"Right, sorry!" He barked before thinking about the question. "I mean, we're doing good... really good! I'm crazy about her, and she seems to really care about me too."
"That's so cute, I'm glad you're taking care of her." The persian wags her fluffy tail slowly about, it wagged like a dog's would, not the normal flicking and coiling that Ivory's thinner tail did.
"I think she does more taking care of me, than the other way around!" The fox laughed, smiling as he thought about how often she just let him rest his head in her lap and sang to him while he napped.
The older cat huffed softly. "I've known her for a long time, even before Karen did. I can tell you're doing a lot of good for her."
He couldn't help but blush under his fur and smile at the words, then he thought about the statement. "Hmm... have you ever heard her sing?"
It was an odd question for her and she took a moment to respond, "Well yeah. I hear her hum and such in the shop when we work sometimes, and I went to karaoke with her once. The cat's got a hell of a voice on her. Why do you ask about that of all things?"
A shrug was his response to the question. "I just love her voice, and I think she could do it professionally if she got the right chance to. It's really improved since she stopped smoking too."
Crystal grinned and shook her head, "Look at you! You're just such a good dog!"
Joseph blinked at the words and looked confused. "W-what?"
The persian purred cheerfully. "You are just so thoughtful towards her, I can tell you really love her. I'm a little jealous truth be-" Her ears jerked up as she heard the mouse call out for her from the front. "Tch...of course..."
"Sorry boss, but thanks for the kind words. I... will do my best to take care of her, and keep her happy." The fox spoke, trying to sound confident and proud as he did so.
"See that you do, Joe. If you hurt her... well, finding a new job would be the least of your concerns at that point." The cat huffed with a playful grin, but the fox could tell by the look in her eyes she was serious.
Once Crystal slipped back to the front, Joseph sat there thinking to himself. 'Man... why is my life full of such scary girls? Is this my mother's influence?'
"Good to go?" Ivory purred as Joseph walked out into the lobby with his apron off.
He smiled and nodded as they walked out together, her handpaw drifted outwards slightly once they cleared the exit and his own quickly took it. Ivory gave him a wide grin pushing closer to him as they walked to his car, paw in paw.
"You were back there a few minutes longer than I expected. Crystal nag you about something?" Ivory purred while walking with him.
"She was making sure that we were doing okay." He spoke casually.
Ivory flicked her ears up. "Ha... she worried about you?"
"Nah... I think she was more worried about you. Told me to take care of you and treat you right." He huffed while blushing at the thought of it.
"How sweet of her." Ivory hummed while being led to the passenger's side of Joseph's car.
The fox opened the door for Ivory and she smiled before sliding into the seat. He then moved over and sat down on the driver's side. The engine turned over and the car filled with the sound of music, a classical station that was apparently doing an opera performance.
The two of them sat there in silence in the cabin of the car for several moments, Ivory could tell the fox was focused on something while he listened to the music. Finally, Joseph broke the silence, "So I really like your singing."
"That was random." Ivory smiled as she responded, "But... thank you, I love to sing for you, hun."
"Have you ever considered trying your paw at it professionally?" He prodded the question as he looked over at her.
Ivory snorted out a laugh in response. "Ha... that's like asking a guy that plays golf once a week if he wants to join the pro leagues."
"I'm serious." He sighed, turning the radio down a few notches.
Ivory grinned and shook her head. "Just because I can carry a tune doesn't mean I can sing, my fox."
"But your voice is so beautiful, and I've heard you just make up lyrics on the spot when singing, I think you're really talented!" He barked, a bit of pride in his voice.
She blinked at him a few times before looking out the window at the sidewalk and all the people coming and going. Finally, she clicked her tongue and spoke, "I appreciate it, Joseph but I doubt I've got the skill to be some superstar singer."
"I think you could, but who says you have to be some pop star? Maybe just sing for a lounge or the local theater." Joseph spoke as he snapped his seatbelt into place and put the car into gear.
"Ah, you make it sound so simple, the imagination of youth," Ivory purred while looking out the window as the car got into motion.
"The fuck is that supposed to mean?" He snapped, his voice clearly showing his irritation.
"It means... things aren't so simple, Joseph. I can't just drop my whole life to try to push into something I have no experience with." Ivory hissed cutting her gaze back to the fox.
"So, you're just going to work in a coffee shop all your life?" He barked while focusing on the road.
"Maybe, it's not like I've got any clandestine fantasy of my future." The cat shrugged as she spoke, "Who says I would be any happier being a singer for a living?"
"Would you?" He prodded the question curiously.
"Yeah I think I would enjoy it, I love to sing." Ivory looked to the window again and huffs softly, "But mostly I just love to sing to you, Joseph... It's special when I sing for you, it wouldn't be if it were my job."
"I would still think it special because it would just be for me like it is now. There's a difference between singing for me in private and performing," He nodded as he spoke.
"You've been thinking about this a lot haven't you?" The cat shifted and sat up in her seat, looking at her lover full on.
"Yeah, I think you could really pull it off..." He growled as he pulled into the parking lot of her apartment building.
"Well, it means a lot that you have so much faith in me." Ivory smiled at him and as soon as he put the car in park, she was out of her seatbelt and in his lap straddling him.
Joseph put a handpaw on her rear, rubbing it through her jeans while she moved in for his mouth. Both of them kissed eagerly their tongues rolled against one another as their heads tilted to allow their muzzles to part slightly.
Several moments of fervent kissing ensued before Ivory slowly pulled from his lips with a purr, "I'm surprised you lasted all day, I could smell you the whole time you know..."
He huffed and rubbed at the cat's backside while panting, "I almost dragged you into the supply closet half a dozen times..."
"Think you can make it to the apartment, hun?" Ivory grinned and slowly ground her hips against his lap, enjoying the view as the fox panted for her.
"Maybe... ngh... depends on if you keep that up!" Joseph hissed and squeezed at her rear eagerly.
"Oh... my apologies..." Ivory purred and slipped off his lap and out of the driver's side door, standing up. She felt his paws grab at her hips and drag her back down into his lap. "Ha! Not letting me go, fox?"
The dog shook his head and growled as he pulled his seat all the way back and dragged the cat fully into his lap from behind. Ivory let out a soft groan pushing her back to his chest, feeling his handpaws rubbing at her breasts from behind. "Horny mutt... glad I have a covered parking space..."
"Even if it were out in the open, you think it would stop me?" The fox growled into her ears from behind, his paws sliding down to the front of her jeans, quickly tugging them open exposing the red panties within.
"I know it wouldn't..." Ivory panted while gripping the steering wheel, lifting her hips as Joseph dragged her jeans and panties both down at once to her knees.
The cat bit her lower lip when she heard his own pants unzipped and tugged open, the scent of his musk filling the car, mingling with her own. "Lewd dog... at least pull them all the way off!"
Joseph ignored her words and grabbed her hips, jerking her small body upwards and back. Ivory bent forward grasping the steering wheel, her breasts pressing into it while feeling the fox press his tapered head right up against her dripping wet petals, grinding and teasing it there. "Fuck... just put it in already!" The cat hissed, jerking her head back to glare at the fox.
The fox growled at her demands and gripped her hips hard, dragging her small body down. Ivory let out a soft groan as his tip pushed into her entrance and started to sink up into her. She shivered, feeling her walls clench along every inch until he pulled her fully down into his lap once more, now fully inside her and pressed to her core. "Ha... fuck... so hot and tight..." He growled out.
"Y-you say that... every time, hun..." The cat purred between panting and leaned back fully against the fox's chest, sighing happily as her body clenched and squeezed him, giving in after a few moments of feeling him throb inside her.
"Huff! Y-you're cumming already?! How pent up were you?!" Joseph moaned softly from behind her now, both his paws resting upon Ivory's breasts still in her blouse, rubbing at them eagerly while his hips grind and buck beneath her, shoving his tapered head into her deepest regions repeatedly.
"A-all day! Oh, fuck..." The cat panted and gripped her palms on the steering wheel while pushing back into his chest, grinning while the fox counter pushed up against her from below, a heavy purr coming from her throat while he rubbed at her breasts and bucked up against her. "That's is, Joe... keep doing that... I want more..."
"You always want more and you know I'm happy to give it..." The young fox growled, grinding his head against her deep inside, feeling her walls clenching and milking at him, his knot starting to make itself known along her petals.
"Knotting already, hun?" The cat clicks her tongue teasingly and leans into his chest, panting and nuzzling up under his chin, "Ha... don't get too eager, I want at least four..." The cat shuddered as she moaned, her walls clenching down hard along his length as he ground that growing knot against her entrance.
The stimulation of playing with her breasts and his constant pushing and throb dragged her over the edge once more, the cat cried out in a throaty soft groan while giving in for a second time on the fox. Her honey soaking into his jeans and boxer shorts, the entire car now smelling of cat and fox sex.
"I-I can't help it! You're too fucking good and I waited all day!" He snarled out, clenching his teeth trying to resist her body's clenching and squeezing while she gave in, his hips jerking and grinding beneath his cats, making her sway and bounce gently in his lap with each push.
Ivory grinned as she felt the fox knot more and more, huffing out a groan. "Poor little doggy... is it too much for you to handle?" She purred while pushing into his chest, panting hotly while he ground himself into her, her pants and panties still hanging down between her knees, her own hips working back just as eagerly.
The cat's ears shot up as she felt Joseph's right paw slide down between her legs and start rubbing and stroking her pearl right above where his cock was shoved into her and thrusting away. "W-wha?! T-that's... Ha... fucking...c-cheater!" Ivory moaned out in protest as the fox stimulated her sensitive little spot while pushing into her.
"Ha... you just said four... didn't set any rules!" Her lover barked out playfully and Ivory clenched her teeth, it didn't take him long to coax her up and soon enough the cat was moaning out happily once more as her release took hold, her walls violently squeezing around the fox's length.
"Ha... fuck... fuck... stupid dog..." Ivory panted, gripping the steering wheel hard, her claws digging into it while he bucked hard and eagerly up against her.
"Almost... almost..." He panted excitedly while the cat lolled her tongue looking up at his expression through the rearview mirror.
"Hgn... do it already, dumb dog!" The cat hissed out, her claws digging harder into the steering wheel.
The fox grabbed her hips and slammed her down into his lap, shoving his tip as deep as he could, lodging that knot nice and deep, trapping her with him. Ivory yelped out from the violent push into her then clenched her eyes tight. A heartbeat later he was giving in to her, filling her again and again.
Her tongue lolled and the cat yowled out in a moan, her body clenching down violently milking at her lover's spire, coaxing him to release harder. She felt his heat pour in, hot and thick as it flooded her smaller body while she leaned into the steering wheel. "Fuck! S-so much... pent up... much?"
"Ha... ha... who's fault... is that..." Joseph snarled in between gushes, growling into his cat's ears while resting both handpaws possessively on her hips.
Ivory bit her lower lip hard, feeling the last of what he had stored up for her flood in, her walls easing on their own clenching a few moments later. "Son of a bitch..." The cat gasped weakly and slumped back fully into the fox's chest, feeling both his paws slide around her, resting upon her stomach while she panted.
Both of them sat there panting and nuzzling one another, trying to recover from the furious mating frenzy they just had. Ivory composed herself after a few more moments and sighed happily. "Really though... you couldn't even let us get into the apartment..." She grinned as she kissed along the fox's chin gently, purring while he held her.
"I couldn't... I needed you right now..." Joseph sighed as he leaned in, nuzzling with the cat and enjoying the sounds of her purrs while he embraced her.
"You really do make me feel loved and needed... ha..." She sighed happily, grinning while the dog nuzzled and cuddled her. "Huff... knots are great..."
"Yeah?" The fox asked curiously with a huff.
"Uhuh... you're stuck here with me for several minutes, forced to cuddle and dote on me." Ivory cooed while pushing against the dog's chest.
"Silly... I would cuddle and dote on you all night, even if my cock never came out of my pants..." He huffed lovingly while embracing her close.
"Such a gentleman..." Ivory sighed the words happily and then purred, "Since you're in such a loving mood, I will leave you to cook dinner then!"
Joseph chuckled gently and sighed into her ears, "Ha... you know I love cooking for you, baby... If we ever move in together, I would do it every day."
"Hmm... that's a tempting bribe... I should consider it!" The cat huffed playfully, feeling her cheeks start to grow warmer as she grinned.
"Do you mean it?" Joseph spoke out excitedly, his tail thumping against the seat of the car.
Ivory smiled and leaned into the fox, enjoying his warmth and thinking things over. The idea of him in her bed every night, the thought of waking up with him each morning. Their showers together, the morning coffee, and breakfast. The idea of living life with him sounded so nice and safe. "I-I do... I think I would love it very much... I-I mean you already are over several days a week anyway!"
He laughed and hugged her tight, "We should look into that then, I could help with bills and everything."
"Hmm... What about your mother? Don't you already help her out with bills?" Ivory asked with a note of concern in her voice.
"Ha... my mother makes more money than me, you, and Crystal put together. She humors me and lets me help, but she would get along fine without me."
"Well, that makes me feel better at least." Ivory grinned and felt her heart pounding in her chest at the idea of her boyfriend living with her. "Ha... t-then... let's start making plans for it!" Joseph felt his own heart racing now and nodded while hugging her tight.
--*--
A few days later they had their date with Karen and Isaac. The fox said he could handle it just fine but as the hours ran out he found himself feeling more and more anxious about the whole thing.
Karen was a few years older than Ivory and the former manager of the coffee shop. He had developed feelings for her a few months after being hired on, but he never openly expressed them and was too nervous to get to know the bunny because of them.
When he finally tried to confront her, it was too late. She already had a guy and gently called Joseph out on not really knowing her despite his feelings. The boyfriend she had, she married about half a year later, shortly after she left her job with the shop.
Her husband was a large powerful wolf, easily outpacing Joseph in size, confidence, and experience. The fox thought back to the first time they met and how his mere presence left him shaken and full of self-doubt. He ended up being a very nice guy, and a source of inspiration, it was one of the reasons the fox had taken up kickboxing and started learning how to fight. He wanted to be like that powerful Alpha dog whom he had lost Karen to,
Joseph hadn't seen either of the two of them in almost half a year now. Not since they had gotten married. He sat there in his car, looking at himself in the rearview mirror, contemplating things.
"It's a date, hun. You're not going in there to fight him." Ivory purred playfully while grinning at the fox from the passenger seat. They had been parked in front of the pub for several moments now.
"Who said I'm thinking about him?" The fox huffed, cutting his eyes back over to Ivory.
"Then thinking about Karen?" Ivory gave him a toothy grin as she spoke the rabbit's name.
"I'm thinking about both of them and a lot of things," Joseph growled and climbed out of the driver's side of the car, moving over to the passenger door and opening it before taking Ivory's handpaw to help her out of the car.
"You've changed a lot, my fox." Ivory pushed close to him and leaned up on her padded-toes, puffing into his ear softly. "Stronger, more confident, and mine... hold your head up high."
He blushed under his fur at and huffed before sliding a paw back to pat Ivory's rear through her skirt she had worn. "Thanks, baby. I'm lucky to have you."
"You are," The cat purred happily then looked over as a modest-looking sedan pulled up behind Joseph's sports car.
Joseph felt his heart lurch to a halt briefly as Karen climbed out of the vehicle. Her hair was still the color of chocolate and seemed to have gotten longer, her large mocha ears looking natural against it. She was in a pair of blue jeans that hugged her hips and rear, showcasing them in all their curvy glory.
Ivory and Karen quickly hopped over to one another and hugged before starting to chatter about missing one another. Joseph's gaze shifted as the car lurched heavily as Isaac climbed from the driver's seat and stepped out.
The wolf had long crimson hair, it matched his ears and tail almost perfectly. He was still well over a foot taller than the fox but seemed not quite as large and imposing as Joseph remembered. Everything about his movements oozed confidence and experience. It stood to reason since he was around his mother's age.
The two dogs traded a long silent gaze before the wolf showed his sharp teeth in a grin. "Joseph, you've gotten taller, and bigger since I've seen you last."
"Did you just call me fat?" The fox quipped back instantly with his own toothy grin.
The quick and confident retort took both the wolf and the rabbit off guard, both staring at him for a moment before Isaac barked out a laugh. "Ha! No, I mean you look like you've put on more muscle and mass. I can tell you've been working out!"
The fox felt his cheeks heat up at the compliment but tried to keep his bravado going, especially now that Karen was looking him over and most likely registering the changes as well.
"Yeah, you could say that." Joseph grinned and slid his fingers through his now slightly longer hair before giving Isaac a level grin. "Thanks for noticing, didn't realize you were a fan and keeping up with my progress."
The wolf blinked at and took a few steps towards the fox while grinning, Joseph felt his heart lurch into his stomach once the wolf was on top of him. He suddenly felt very small and weak in his presence. The little voice in his head screamed to tuck his tail and turn away, but the fox snapped his teeth together to look up at the larger dog, refusing to acknowledge his dominant presence.
Isaac clapped a paw over the fox's shoulder then thrust his other out, padded-palm open for a shake. "You've gotten a lot more confident, it suits you!" The wolf huffed in a friendly tone of voice.
The shoulder clap jarred him before the fox looked at the wolf's palm and moved to clasp his handpaw. He half expected Isaac to crush his paw in the grip in some show of dominance but he simply gave him a firm pawshake before pulling from him and moving over to Karen's side.
'Of course, he doesn't need to show off, he's got nothing to prove. He already has her.' The fox thought the words to himself for a moment before responding, "Thanks, It's because of Ivory. She makes me feel like I could take on the world."
Ivory perked her ears up and quickly slid over to Joseph's side to lock her arms around his, purring happily and giving him a proud but hungry look. The fox felt his heart crank back into pace then speed up when he saw the look in her eyes, knowing she approved of him being so confident and affectionate of her.
He growled and pulled Ivory closer. Karen gave Joseph a curious look and he caught her emerald eyes scanning him before his chestnut ones met them. The rabbit always had a crazy knack for reading people. He was sure she was seeing through his false bravado and confidence as if it were glass.
"So, are we going to eat, or stand here all night? I'm hungry!" Ivory huffed with a grin, breaking the awkward silent exchange between the fox and rabbit.
"Sounds good to me, I'm famished," Isaac growled, clasping Karen's paw and gently walking with her to the entrance of the pub. He pulled the door open letting Karen step inside, then kept it held as Ivory walked in behind her.
Joseph gave him another glance as he kept the door open but walked past him without making too much fuss.
The four of them found a table and took a seat. A server came by to take their orders and leave them some water.
"I missed you, asshole!" Ivory huffed at Karen. They were sitting across from one another at the table now.
"I missed you too... it's been too long." The rabbit responded with a bright smile.
The two girls at the table started idly chatting with one another cheerfully, the two guys just sitting there looking awkward and out of place.
"So how are things going Joseph? You recently graduated yeah?" Isaac asked the questions after several moments of silence between the two of them.
"Yeah I had my graduation a few months ago, things are going well." The fox spoke while sipping his water.
"That's great! So... what style are you doing?" Isaac huffed looking at him intently now.
"Uh... style?" The fox blinked at the focus and attention the wolf was giving him.
"Yeah, I can tell by your movements and form. You're practicing some kind of martial art, what is it?" The wolf's heavy tail wagged behind him curiously while grinning.
'Damn... this guy is too good, he picked all that up just by looking at me?' The fox thought about it before sipping more water and responding. "Nothing crazy, just some kickboxing, specifically muay thai."
The wolf's large red ears lifted, Karen's own mocha ears perked up at the statement as well, both of them focusing on him intently now. "Nice!" Isaac spoke out excitedly.
"I agree," Karen chimed in and the fox shifted his gaze to hers. "You get the benefit of short-range strong blows from your fists, but you get the added distance of your leg strikes."
"That's right! Plus since you've trained in muay thai it means you don't hesitate to go for low kicks which are arguably more effective for bringing down a target than high kicks." The wolf spoke excitedly as Joseph quirks an ear and returns his gaze to him.
"Not to mention it handily trumps traditional boxing methods since you can use elbows and knee strikes." Karen nodded.
"Yeah! Plus it's a great art for learning counter-tactics, you can even mix some grappling into it!" Isaac was now looking at Karen while they exchanged notes on the subject.
Joseph and Ivory just trade a glance before the fox cleared his throat and finally interrupted them. "I guess? I just think it's fun to do."
"That's the best attitude to have, Joseph. Just enjoy yourself. It will make you a better martial artist." Karen gave him a smile, and the fox felt his chest tighten at her gaze.
"Have you had a chance to put it into practice outside of sparring?" Isaac prodded the question looking intently at the fox.
Joseph looked to Ivory who nodded with a small smile. "Yeah... I uh... had to put a guy in his place that was disrespecting my cat a few months back."
Ivory flicked her tail happily, huffing proudly as she pushed up against her fox purring, happy to hear him call her his and talk about defending her.
"Wow... good for you Joe!" Karen spoke happily, "I'm really glad you were able to save him from Ivory!" The rabbit giggled.
"What?" Joseph spoke out in confusion.
Karen gave Joseph an apologetic look. "I remember one time at a club, this guy copped a feel on Ivory. He left in an ambulance."
Ivory gave Karen a glare, "Well he was a really big guy, I appreciated Joseph coming to my rescue!"
The rabbit smiled at her then looked back at Isaac, her eyes sparkling. "Yeah... I can relate to that."
Joseph saw the look the two of them exchanged and felt his stomach twist in a knot before Ivory pushed closer to him and huffed into his ear, "My strong, brave fox..."
"It makes me feel better to know you would have been okay, had I not been there," he spoke gently while putting an arm around her.
"So, what technique did you use? A well-placed knee, or maybe a shin kick?" Isaac asked curiously.
Joseph snorted through his nose. "I gut-punched the fucker with my knuckles on."
Karen barked out a laugh. "That's great!"
The fox blushed and looked over at her, "Y-you think so?"
"Of course! Practicality often is a better option." The rabbit grinned at the fox and rested on her elbows looking over at him with a grin. "It's like the Judo expert that takes a folding chair to someone in a bar fight."
"You don't think it was underpawed using a weapon?" The fox spoke, feeling his eyes wander over the rabbit, her chest wasn't nearly as big as Ivory's but the position she was in showed off her full breasts well in her shirt. He found himself forcing his eyes away from her.
"A real fight isn't about honor or pride. When the chips are down, you do what you can to end it quickly and decisively." Isaac huffed in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.
Karen saw the fox looking her over and then quickly shifting his gaze away. She saw the look in his eyes as they averted and quickly sat back up feeling her own cheeks burning at the realization of the position she had put herself in before him.
The meal eventually came to the table and everyone eagerly got to eating, the chatter of the table dissipating to a more relaxed manner.
"That was great. I'm gonna excuse myself to the ladies' room for a moment," Ivory purred after having finished her meal, sliding out of her chair and standing up.
"Sounds like a plan, I will join you," Karen spoke out as she hopped up as well, both of them leaving the table.
After a few moments of silence, Isaac spoke, "I think that's some kind of rule with women..."
"You mean going to the bathroom together?" Joseph asked while poking at what was left of his food.
"Yeah, I just don't get it." The wolf shrugged and took a drink of the beer he had ordered. Another long awkward silence settled over the two of them as they sat there alone.
Several more moments passed before Isaac finally spoke out in a flat voice, "I saw how you were looking at my wife."
Joseph felt his stomach twist and looked to the side, "I wasn't trying to start nothing, Man. It just happened. No intention behind it."
"Do you still love her?" The wolf asked the question with no hesitation.
Joseph closed his eyes and took a few moments to answer, then opened them and looked right into Isaac's eyes. He had bright blue eyes just like Ivory. "I never stopped loving her. But that doesn't mean I want to sabotage what she has or give up what I have for her. Look man, she is all yours, I'm not trying to-"
"No, I get it." Isaac interrupted him before he could continue explaining. "I'm not trying to puff up and act all alpha here, just talking about things."
Joseph nodded somberly, "Regardless... apologies if you feel I was disrespecting her or you."
The wolf snorted and rolled his eyes with a laugh, "Nah, it's all good, I stare at Ivory's tits all the time!" He huffed jokingly.
That irritated the fox, it made his chest grow tight and he felt a growl wanting to bubble up in his chest, his tail flicking sharply. The wolf saw it and gave him a knowing smile before speaking, "Yeah it's no fun seeing another guy looking your woman up and down, is it?"
"Touche." The fox said plainly as he took a drink of his water.
"It's fine, Joseph. I'm not going to touch her, just like I know you wouldn't touch Karen. Lots of people stare at Karen all the time, I can't go flipping tables and pouncing on people when they do." The wolf grinned. "I'm sure you've seen customers looking Ivory over all the time at work. You know what I'm talking about."
"I do, I appreciate you not taking it personally, it's just..." His words drifted off as he thought about what to say next.
"It's hard, I get it..." The wolf spoke gently, thinking back to his own past and loves he never got to pursue. "We've all got our white whales we chase, knowing damn well we will never have them."
"How is it with her? Being married to her?" The fox asked curiously.
"Well depends on which of us you ask. I think it's great, we do everything together. We also never get any privacy from one another, which is fine by me," The wolf huffed the words proudly, then looked down at the bands on his paw. "I still can't believe it, I don't deserve her. Every day I wake up thinking how lucky I am."
"I saw how she changed because of you, she became happier and less angry with life. I think you're good for her." The fox nodded at him with a smile.
"Yeah? What about you and Ivory? How is that going? Karen told me she stopped smoking because of you." The wolf leaned forward on his elbows curiously as he spoke.
"Y-yeah... she did. I tried not to nag her, but I told her I was worried about her health. It took her a few months to fully commit to giving them up." He looked down at his plate while blushing, "It's good...we are talking about moving in soon... She makes me so happy."
Isaac grinned and held his handpaw out showing off his rings, "Careful fox, once they get you in the same house, it doesn't take them long to hook you and reel you in!"
Joseph blushed at the idea of marrying the cat and shook his head to dislodge the thoughts. "Y-yeah... I mean... I wouldn't mind, but I don't want to rush it either!"
He gave the fox a wide grin showing his teeth, deciding to test his resolve. "Would you trade her for a night?"
"W-what?!" Joseph spat out half shocked, half confused.
"Well, your cat is quite the beauty. Let's say I talked to Karen..." The wolf growled.
The fox's ears lifted at the words, his cheeks burning plainly, "Wait... do you mean... like all of us? That sounds... intimidating..."
The wolf smiled and shook his head, "No no... I mean, you can have my bunny for a night, and I get your cat for the evening."
"A-absolutely not!" The fox snapped out with a glare, his teeth showing as he growled, "First off that's not something I could decide for her, and second off... N-no... not even for Karen..."
The wolf grinned, seemingly satisfied with the answer. "You are a good dog for her, Joseph. I wasn't being serious, I just wanted to see your response."
The fox perked his ears up sharply and huffed out, "T-the fuck... who are you to test me?!" He snarled, feeling heat creep up in his chest.
"Relax... it's nothing personal. We are on the subject of our mates, seemed appropriate to see how you would respond." The wolf held his handpaws out with his palms showing.
"Yeah? And what if I had said I was game for it?" Joseph growled, crossing his arms.
"I would have called bullshit on your love for Ivory of course." The wolf huffed the words flatly. "You don't trade and pass around your lover like that. I mean if that's some established ground rules or something you set up early sure... but, you know what I mean."
The fox huffed through his nose and drank down the rest of his water. A few more moments passed before Isaac chimed in once more. "What was with the other statement before, though?"
"What are you talking about?" The fox growled, looking at him directly now.
"The 'all of us' statement." Isaac grinned as he spoke. "I'm surprised that's where your mind went first."
The fox felt his cheeks burning again before he growled and folded his ears, "I wasn't thinking anything weird, you were just not making sense at first!"
"Ah, so if I had been meaning that scenario, you would have been interested?" Isaac grinned wide, showing his teeth, giving the fox a hungry look.
Joseph blinked at the wolf several times before giving him a flat look, "You done fucking with me, yet?"
"Yes, I suppose so!" The wolf spoke playfully, seeing the girls returning from their visit in the restroom. "Welcome back ladies."
Karen slid right back into her seat, Joseph stood up from his own to pull Ivory's chair out for her. The cat blushed and grinned at the fox before taking her seat and having him push it back to the table.
The rabbit whistled at the display, "Damn... is he always like this, or just showing off?"
Ivory purred proudly. "He constantly dotes on me like this. I constantly feel spoiled by him."
"Very nice, Joe," Karen hummed, sounding impressed. The fox felt his heart thump heavier at the rabbit's praise.
The meal wrapped up and the four of them left to return to their cars.
"This was nice, let's not wait so long to do it again," Karen spoke to Ivory with a smile.
"Well don't go chasing people two or three states away and we will!" Ivory fired back with a grin, hugging both the wolf and the rabbit in turn.
"Thanks for coming too, Joe. I missed you," Karen spoke gently, giving the fox a smile.
The fox felt his heart shove into his throat at the words before nodding and speaking in a broken soft response, "Y-yeah... I missed you too..."
Karen gave him a sad smile then looked to Isaac and then to Ivory. "Can I borrow him for a minute?" She spoke to Ivory softly.
Ivory quirked an ear but gave a nod, "Uh... sure. Do what you gotta do."
Karen nodded and looked at Isaac who simply gave her a smile in answer. The rabbit then looked to Joseph and walked past him down the sidewalk, "Let's go for a walk, fox."
His ears lifted, he hadn't heard her refer to him like that since she worked at the shop. He looked at Ivory with a nervous look, but the cat shook her head with a smile, "Go on, Isaac will keep me safe from any boogeyman. I Promise to not make out with him too heavily!"
That got a glare from Karen over her shoulder and a look of concern from the fox. Ivory rolled her eyes and sighed. "Everyone is too damn serious!"
"I mean I'm not taking it seriously." The wolf grinned and shrugged.
"Uh...huh because you're probably okay with the idea." Ivory huffed with a purr.
Karen glared daggers at Isaac for a second before Joseph paced up next to her. The two of them walked along the sidewalk together for what felt like ages. The fox felt his heart thumping heavily in his ears, feeling nervous and unsure of the whole situation.
They came to a small bridge that went over a little stream that cut through this area of the town. Karen leaned up against the guardrail and looked the fox over silently. The two of them were still within eyeshot of their mates, but far enough away that they wouldn't be heard.
"So what's up, Karen?" Joseph asked, feeling his cheeks burn as he looked at the rabbit standing there against the railing. Her chocolate hair seemed to shine in the glow of the moonlight mingling with the city's neon.
Karen took a few moments to choose her words before looking squarely into the fox's eyes, "Are you taking care of Ivory?"
He recognized the look, he knew it well. She was tearing his walls down and stripping away the debris. He knew he wouldn't be able to hide anything from her like this. The fox huffed and put a paw on his hip. "You already know the answer to that, Karen."
"I do, but let me hear you say it." She perked her large mocha ears up, the words came out more like a demand than a question.
"I'm doing everything in my power to make her happy." He spoke matter-of-factly.
"Do you love her?" Another direct question from the rabbit, he figured he might as well just keep the answers coming.
"I do, yeah." He huffed, feeling his heart thump heavily in his chest, his eyes drifting over to see Ivory off in the distance. She was leaning up against the hood of his car, just talking to Isaac.
"What about me?" The rabbit asked the question, and the fox looked back down towards her.
"What... about you?" Joseph asked, quirking an eyebrow as his heart ground to a halt.
"Do you still love me?" She spoke flat and to the point.
That was too much, he had to turn from her gaze. The fox stepped away and turned his back to her, resting his paws on his hips as he looked up at the sky. "What are you doing, Karen? What's the point in all this?"
"Joseph. Turn around, look at me, and answer the question." She spoke gently but in a dominant, firm tone.
The fox took a second before turning and facing her. "I never stopped. Even after you called me out on it. Even after you got serious with Isaac. You told me I hardly knew you, you were kind of right... but kind of wrong too."
The rabbit perked her ears at the words and started to speak but the fox held a handpaw up, continuing, "I had gotten to know you even without direct talking, and I got to know more about you the days leading up to your eventual engagement, and marriage. You may have thought I was just being friendly though. It validated my feelings all too well."
"The point..." The rabbit spoke gently before looking into the fox's eyes once more. Her emerald ones meeting his chestnut ones. "The point is... I want you to be part of my life, you're still my friend Joseph, and I know we have to get past this if we want to be friends."
"Get past it?" The fox growled, heat filling his voice now. "I am past it, Karen. I have no choice but to be, you're married now. You're the one digging this back up!"
The rabbit looked away, in that moment she looked small and timid in the light of the city. "Then I must have imagined the looks you were giving me."
"What is with you and Isaac, both trying to test me or something? Make sure I'm loyal and a good dog for Ivory or something?" The fox growled then snapped his teeth together with a snarl. "Yeah, I was looking at you, how could I not be in those jeans and top. How could I not, knowing how I still feel..."
Karen blushed at his direct words and shook her head, "I'm not testing anything, I'm just wanting to come to a comfortable middle ground so you can be in my life again, without us both tormenting one another."
"Ivory makes me happy, Karen. Yeah, I still love you, I always will, I'm sure." The fox shrugged a shoulder. "Mom always told me, you don't have a limit on your love. You can love anyone you choose. Doesn't always mean you should act on it though."
"You've grown up a lot in the last year or so, Joseph." Karen looked at him square on, looking at him the same way Ivory had when she finally accepted he wasn't a child anymore.
"Yeah I have, but I still feel the same for you. That doesn't mean I will act on it though. I respect what you and Isaac are. You being happy... is enough for me." He spoke plain and simply, staring hard into her emerald eyes.
Karen stared back for several moments before shifting her gaze away towards Isaac and Ivory in the distance. "Thank you for talking to me about this."
"Y-yeah... I'm glad we got it cleared up." The fox spoke also casting his gaze back towards the two of them, turning to walk towards them.
"Joseph." The rabbit called out to him and he turned to look at her. "Do you even want to be part of my life?"
The fox shook his head before giving a smile to her. "Of course I do Karen, I love you, but nothing says I can't love you as a friend."
The rabbit grinned at his words and flicked her small mocha tail as she pushed off the guardrail to start back to the car with him. "That makes me happy to hear."
"Does that includes friends with benefits?" The fox barked the words playfully at her.
The rabbit choked back a gasp before huffing, her cheeks starting to warm. "Damn fox, you've gotten a lot bolder since you started getting laid!"
Joseph huffed proudly and gave her a knowing smile, "I'm kidding you know. Isaac would break me in half if I tried that. Not to mention what Ivory may do to me!"
"You know me and Ivory fooled around a few times when we got a bit too drunk." Karen looked up at the fox while they walked. She could see the look on his face, seeing him process the idea of the two of them together.
"Y-yeah? That's cool..." Joseph huffed feeling his heart rate climb once more, feeling warm all over and panting faintly as he imagined the scene.
Karen grinned and looked at the fox before cooing gently, "Put your tongue away, Joseph..."
The fox blushed and snapped his mouth closed hurriedly with a huff. The rabbit saw the reaction and giggled while they walked.
"You two enjoy your walk?" Isaac spoke playfully as the two of them got back to the cars.
"Yes, it was very informative." Karen hummed gently before looking to Ivory and smiling. "He's a good fox, make sure you take care of him."
"I know he is, and don't worry, I will." The cat purred before pushing off the front of the car and walking over to Joseph, giving him a playful smile.
The fox huffed feeling his heart thump harder to see his cat looking upon him and snaked an arm around her, pulling her close.
"Well this was fun, I hope we can all meet up again sometime," Isaac called out as he moved to the driver's side of the sedan they had come in.
"Yes, don't be strangers you two," Karen spoke gently, looking both the cat and fox over with a smile before sliding into the passenger's side of the vehicle.
Ivory and Joseph watched them pull away and disappear down the city streets before the fox sighed out. "Man, that was stressful..." He moved to the passenger side of his car with Ivory, opening the door for her.
"Yeah? I had fun." The cat purred playfully while sliding into the seat.
"Sure but you weren't getting interrogated constantly," The fox growled while buckling and turning the car engine over.
"Hmm... That's fair. It was pretty obvious to see the exchanges you two were having." Ivory purred as he shifted the car into drive and pulled out into the street.
"Yeah, Isaac and Karen both called me out on it. Sorry if I upset you, it wasn't intentional or anything." The fox huffed while staring at the road.
"I expected it and was prepared for it, I'm not upset." Ivory spoke while looking out the window of the car. "Isaac did as well, he told me as much while you were off having your talk."
"Yeah? What else did he tell you?" Joseph asked curiously while merging onto the on-ramp of the interstate.
"Hmm... you worried about the wolf putting the moves on your cat?" Ivory purred teasingly.
"I-I'm not... I know he isn't that kind of guy... I think." The fox huffed thinking back to the awkward exchange in the restaurant.
"Yeah, I tried flirting with him early into their relationship, just to see if he was a scumbag using Karen, he shut me down hard." Ivory huffed, her voice sounding a little irritated at it still.
"Only to test him?" Joseph prodded curiously.
"W-well... ninety percent!" The cat grinned at the fox as she purred.
Joseph snorted a breath through his nose and focused out the windshield of the car.
"So what did you and Karen talk about, or is it priiiivate?" The cat purred teasingly.
"Short version. She wanted to know if I still loved her, I said yes. She asked if we could be friends, I told her that was fine and I had no intention of messing with what she had now." He didn't mince his words, kept them straight and to the point.
"Ah..." Ivory looked out the window again for several moments. "I wonder if things would be different if she didn't have Isaac. I wonder if you would drop me the moment she gave you the go-ahead..."
"Don't be a dumbass." The fox growled.
The cat perked her ears sharply and looked back at him, "Gosh... so mean..."
"It's not something to even consider. You're my everything, Ivory." The fox huffed proudly and moved his arm out around her, drawing the cat possessively against his chest.
Ivory purred and pushed into him as much as the seat belt would allow and nuzzled her fox. "I'm glad. I've opened up so much to you... more than I ever thought possible."
The fox kept her close while driving with his left handpaw. After a few minutes of silence, he spoke out once more, "So she said you two had fooled around a few times."
Her cheeks flushed and she grinned at the words, "Yeah well... maybe a little... We both got pretty wasted a few times and one thing led to another."
"Yeah? How was that?" He asked curiously.
"Ha... rabbit's taste really good, especially her..." Ivory purred with a grin. "Have you been thinking about it?"
The fox blushed and flicked his ears at the question, "I would be lying if I said I wasn't... surprised you guys didn't hook up before I or Isaac were even a thing."
"Well...I go both ways, but I do enjoy cock a bit too much to commit to just a girl. I don't think I or Karen are good for one another like that anyway. We could probably succeed as friends with benefits had we pursued it, but I think we are better off the way we are." The cat nodded to herself as she spoke, then grinned wide and purred out. "Should we invite you two dogs to watch if we ever did it again?"
Joseph laughed out loud at the words and showed his teeth in a grin, "Only if you want me to dive in the middle. I think Isaac would say the same thing. I doubt either of us is the spectator type!"
Ivory grinned and perked her ears again, "Oh... interesting. Could you play along with that wolf? Didn't think you would be into group activities like that, or that you even liked boys."
The fox blushed at the words and thought about it for a bit. "I mean... I've never been with a guy past first base, but I'm not opposed to the idea. I never really placed a heavy emphasis on gender when liking someone."
He shook his head before huffing gently, "I don't think I could though. Seeing him touching you and doing things to you..."
"Jealous at the thought of him touching me, but not Karen?" The cat grinned as she purred.
"N-no... I mean it's different..." Joseph growled and drooped his ears.
"Ha... if it's an alpha dog thing, the reality is... that bunny is probably more of an alpha than you two are, you just don't realize it!" The cat purred the words with a grin then huffed hotly.
"Y-yeah? Well, how would you feel seeing me touching Karen?" The young fox huffed out curiously.
"Ha... depends... I might be too preoccupied if the wolf was touching me while you were touching her..." The cat purred with a grin.
The fox clicked his tongue and huffed, "You sure seem relaxed with the idea of it all..."
"Hmm... do I? There is a line between carnal desires and love. Think about it from Isaac's point of view, my fox." The cat's voice seemed to settle into a serious note as the statement came forth.
"I don't think I follow..." The fox shifted the car to a lower gear as he decelerated off the exit ramp towards her apartment.
"You love Karen, I love Karen. Karen cares about both of us as well." Ivory prods the words as she speaks them, her statement lingering.
"Isaac... only loves Karen." He spoke in the answer.
"Bingo... for you and I. Laying with that bunny is more than sex, it would be emotional, it would have feelings wrapped up in it, and she would likely have a similar sensation." Ivory nodded to herself while speaking.
"But for him... you're a friend by proxy of his wife, and I'm more or less just an acquaintance. He likes us well enough, but has no attachment towards us." Joseph spoke as he pulled into the parking lot of her apartment and pulled into the space, shifting the car into park.
"Right on the head of the nail, my fox. Seeing me touch her, or me seeing you touch her. That's going to feel a lot different to us than it will to him." Ivory huffed and leaned back in her seat, snapping her buckle off. "How do you think you would feel, seeing a guy you hardly knew, all over me? Even if he were willing to touch you as well."
"I... I would hate that..." The fox sighed looking down at his steering wheel.
"Right. These are things you have to consider before you open that box. A lot of wonderful couples have ended themselves trying to dabble in that area." The cat shrugged. "Several have enhanced their relationships with it too. You just have to be transparent and understand all the angles."
"So you're saying, we gotta woo Isaac, together." The fox grinned playfully at his cat.
Ivory laughed at his words and shook her head, "Is that what you took away from that you dork?" She grinned and shoved at him playfully.
"I'm teasing you!" Joseph barked out as she pushed him gently, grasping her hips and pulling her into his lap.
Ivory slid comfortably into his lap, feeling her tail coil around the steering wheel while pushing her chest into his. "Silly... I have no issue getting to know them better if that's an avenue you wish to go down... Just know at the end of the day, all I want or need is this fox right here in front of me."
Joseph blinked slowly and blushed at the words, nodding his head. "I only need you too, my cat. Even if that avenue was possible, you're my everything."
Ivory let out a low groan at the words and shoved her mouth against his, hungry to taste him after the night's sexual tension. The fox happily returned the kiss, his paws moving up her hips to rub at her breasts eagerly.
The cat broke the kiss and let out a gentle moan as he touched her, "I wanted you all night..."
"Me too," The fox growled and kissed along her throat, his fingertips kneading at her breasts through her top.
"Ha... this is turning into a habit, take me inside first!" The cat giggled then let out a soft yelp as the fox rolled her over onto her back, her breasts bouncing in her top as she lay across the seat with him looming over her grinning.
"Or fuck me in your car again... that works too..." She cooed excitedly while grinning up at the fox.
