"The child had a bright future, and I want the same for all the parents out there with children. I don't want any more children to experience that, and the life of a child should always be treasured" Governor Jalorda continued his specch.

The crowd's murmurs began to agree more, before it changed back to cheering.

"This feels too fishy... That story is bullshit" Unnerve was clearly annoyed by the speech.

Gabu had clung onto Vern, scared how this new law would ruin their relationship.

"Everything will be ok, we haven't failed. We can still change this" Vern comforted Gabu.

"We'll fight for what's right, and we won't let a story like that ruin our plans" SnipeS and Kain agreed with Vern.

Everyone turned to Nocturne, but he was too busy focusing on Governor Jalorda.

"I think there's more to Governor Jalorda than we know" Nocturne speculated.

"The next law that I will enact will be a "one size fits all" punishment for all criminals. As you all know, one of the police stations has been attacked, and criminals are still roaming around the streets. I've been getting suspicious activity reported to me as well that I think it's time to act. I believe the only way to remedy this situation is to change the way things are run around here. We have been too complacent and giving the benefit of the doubt far too much. From this day forward, all criminals will be punished to the highest extent, no matter the severity of their crimes. This way, we can scare criminals off from committing anymore of them in the future" Governor Jalorda informed everyone.

The crowd began cheering loudly, agreeing with his idea, making Governor Jalorda smirk as his plan worked.

"I plan to reinforce some "superior training" to keep them all in shape and prevent anymore criminals from thinking of escaping again" Governor Jalorda added.

All five chiefs looked at each other, including Seth and Sorien in the tv monitors as they wondered what was even going on.

"What is this training you're talking about Governor Jalorda?" One of the pokemorphs from the crowd asked him.

"I am glad that you asked, fine citizen. I've been consulting five other pokemorphs that I know really well, and they will talk to the police chiefs on what the plan is, including the police academy" Governor Jalorda told him.

"I have no idea what form of training this can be" Sorien told everyone.

"I-If this is anything like the advanced training... I-I'm scared... What are we gonna do?" Seth asked everyone.

"We'll protect you if it comes to that" Baku told them.

"We won't let anyone do any unnecessary training if we have anything to say about it" Moxie assured the both of them.

"T-Thank you...' Sorien thanked Baku.

"I feel a bit safer now..." Seth said, as he stopped shaking a bit.

"This is very suspicious with how he's calling it training. And I have a hunch about what's going on" Leo thought as he looked at Ken who nodded.

"I'm more than ready to fight off these consultants if it comes to that" Ken agreed with Leo.

The four chiefs turned towards Unnerve, who blew smoke from his nose.

"Tch... You're all acting like cowards, with all five of us together, we can surpass anything. Even if it means that we'll be meeting our old mentors again. That just means we'll kick their asses before they can touch us" Unnerve blew more smoke, clearly pissed off by Governor Jalorda's new laws.

"I have more plans for this great community, but I will be retiring for now. I will answer questions at a later time. I have much more in store. I assure you all" Governor Jalorda bid everyone goodbye as he quickly left for the building once more.

The camera focused back to Runa now that Governor Jalorda had left.

"You heard it here folks. It looks like Governor Jalorda plans to enact two new bills into law. We will provide continuing coverage as we learn more stuff. That is all for me right now, Runa Signer, Channel 2 Poke News signing off" The news reporter said as the channel then started reporting on less interesting news.

Unnerve then closed the program from the laptop after hearing the bad news, Seth and Sorien did the same after hearing from the channel... At least it was bad for them.

"The Governor can't do that... Shouldn't they enact laws protecting the kid then rather than..." SnipeS said, already feeling like the world was turning against them.

"If anybody knows about our relations... They could easily snitch on us" Kain muttered fearfully.

"Not if we have anything to say about that, we still have time" Vern told them.

"But that's the problem, we don't know how to stop them yet. Unless Nocturne has a plan. For all we know, this might have been an indirect threat to us" Gabu argued.

"Then we should do something soon, otherwise, it will be too late" Sorien agreed.

"So does this involve blackmail or something?" Seth asked everyone.

"No, they could easily reverse the decision if we did that once they feel safe enough" Leo told them.

"If they come for us then I'll beat them up!" Ken said angrily.

"If you do that then everything will be ruined" Unnerve warned him.

Everyone turned over to Nocturne.

"It's more important than ever to take over the government before the laws are enacted, or else it will be harder for all of us to achieve our goals. Now... Do you people have any ideas about this "Superior Training" that the governor mentioned?" Nocturne asked the 5 chiefs.

"Sorien, did you think of anything?" Unnerve asked him.

"I have no idea. It doesn't sound like they'll do the usual training that they did to all of us" Sorien said.

"Me neither... I just don't want to go through with it again if that's the case" Seth cringed.

"If it's something with "superior" named after it, then it will be much worse for us. Maybe they'll train us with something worse than the former chiefs" Leo gave his thoughts.

"Then we won't let them train us, I'll break their legs!" Ken said in outrage.

"Damn it... We don't have any information... We're going to be flying blind on this, but we can't do anything about it for now" Nocturne clenched his fists tightly, before loosening up. Nocturne immediately focused his attention on Ken as a thought from their last encounter came to his mind.

"Ken, you mentioned a recruit the other day that we met, care to tell us about it?" Nocturne asked him, remembering the topic yesterday.

"I learned about the recruit from my grandfather, Chief Tai. From what I could tell, the recruit was not a dragon type. This student broke some sort of rule that the higher ups didn't approve of and got themselves involved personally" Chief Ken informed him.

"Did you see the recruit's face? Do you know what he looked like? Do you know anything that makes him distinguishable?" Nocturne pressed him further.

"No, the only thing I know was that he wasn't a dragon. The only thing recognizable about him was, as I repeat myself, not a dragon, and the astounding accomplishments and feats he had made around the time we were at the academy. Other than that, I have nothing to go off of because I didn't care that much to note it as important at the time" Ken explained.

"Please Ken! Anything that you know! Even the smallest detail!" Nocturne pleaded with him.

"Well... I..." Ken hesitated to answer.

"Please Ken, this could be my son who I've been searching for a long time now. I need to know" Nocturne begged him again.

"I do know a little more... But are you prepared to hear what I'm about to tell you?" Ken sighed.

Nocturne nodded fast, and felt Unnerve's claws hold his paw, looking at each other's eyes with care.

"Alright... The last thing I remember talking about him with Chief Tai was that he abandoned the idea of bringing him under his wing, because the recruit had a deep dark secret that he did not share upon entering the academy. I asked him what that secret was, but Chief Tai told me that it wasn't any of my concern, and that the recruit was immediately dismissed due to him having "possible ties" with the wrong crowd. After that, his records were wiped from the academy, as if he never existed. That's everything I knew, and I wish I know more now" Ken told Nocturne everything.

As Ken finished the explanation, Nocturne buried his hands in his face, and started to sob.

"Hey, don't cry, this still doesn't prove that it was Gao. It could still be anybody" Unnerve comforted Nocturne.

Despite Unnerve's efforts to comfort him, Nocturne was extremely disheartened knowing that it was nobody else but Gao. Why else would it have been hard to try to find him?

"I need a moment to myself" Nocturne said as he got up from the table, transformed into Ace, before running out of the door and closing it behind him.

Unnerve was about to go after him when Vern had stood in his way.

"I've been with Nocturne long enough to never see him break down like this. But we need to give him time if we want to respect him" Vern told Unnerve.

"... Fine, but I'll only give him five minutes before I go get him" Unnerve said conditionally.

Vern was satisfied with that at the very least, as they all sat to contemplate on the underlying situation.

Everyone turned their attention to Ken, with Unnerve looking very angry at him.

"Hey, I'm only speaking the truth here, you think I wanted this? This isn't what I wanted, I never wanted to antagonize anyone" Ken glared back at Unnerve.

"Unnerve he has a point, can you really blame him? Nocturne wanted to know the truth, and he told him the truth" Sorien defended Ken.

"Yes, despite the tough background he has, he wouldn't do anything that would end up hurting anyone or even something as evil as tricking someone into despair" Seth agreed with Sorien.

"Unnerve... I know you're wanting to blame someone here, but Ken spoke with zero animosity and aggression, there's no need to fight" Leo reminded Unnerve.

"Just take a breather Unnerve, you need to calm down" Gabu advised Unnerve.

"You're going to make it worse if you start fighting now" Vern agreed with Gabu.

"Hmph... Then he should have said it in a better way" Unnerve blew smoke from his nose.

"Unnerve does have a point, but it was unavoidable either way" SnipeS tried to find some leeway into Unnerve's reaction

"This isn't the end. We can still find Gao some other way, we've just been doing things wrong the whole time trying to find police records. Maybe we could ask the government once we take over, that way, we have a much wider array of information to find out what really happened" Kain suggested.

"Either way, it's stupid to sugar coat things. You think that he won't find out eventually? I prefer to be more blunt about things. If you really did care about him, you wouldn't want me to hold back any information that I knew, he wanted every single detail" Ken defended himself again.

"You're really bad at public speaking, maybe you should just fucking shut up" Unnerve replied in disgust.

Ken was about to give a snarky comment, but Leo interrupted them before he could give one.

"Calm down everyone, right now we need to focus on Nocturne than each other" Leo stopped the argument.

Everyone looked at each other, unsure of what to do, until Kain got an idea.

"I know right now we can't exactly disturb Nocturne's private time to grieve, and everyone is upset and worried about him right now, so I'll send one of my drones to keep an eye on him at a distance to make sure he's ok" Kain suggested to everyone.

Unnerve nodded his head immediately.

"Yes, great idea, I don't want anything to happen to him while we're hanging around like towels around here" Unnerve agreed to his idea.

"Yes Kain, go do that. That would make everyone happy and honor Nocturne's wish to be alone right now" SnipeS urged Kain, leaning over and hugging him.

Everyone nodded with SnipeS, that was a compromise that they can work with for now.

"Give me a few more minutes to prepare the drone then" Kain smiled and opened a suitcase as he began assembling the drone.

Ace was roaming around in the parking structure next to the station, at the top floor.

"So the Governor suddenly makes this announcement that he would ban all gay acts soon... He must have known something about our plans recently if he isn't able to enact them now or just came up with it. But I won't let him, we'll take over the government and prevent him from doing something like this" Ace leaned onto the balcony ledge that was overlooking the city.

Ace paced back and forth as a figure flew towards him with quick speed. Before he could react, he felt a large gust of wind heading towards him from behind. All of a sudden, he got snatched up by whoever was responsible, vanishing from the vicinity as he got kidnapped, flying into a random direction.

Ace felt confused, the sudden shift in his location and environment left him confused as he looked down at the ground. He tried looking at the assailant but was too busy looking at his dangling feet as he was left hanging in the air while the kidnapper flew.

"... Let me go" Ace told his kidnapper, but the kidnapper didn't reply.

Ace couldn't do anything as the kidnapper flew with him at breakneck speeds, before he was eventually let go and dropped onto a nearby roof.

Ace ended up rolling a few feet after being dropped, and when he had recovered, the mystery pokemorph had already entered through the roof access door and closed it behind them, thus failing to identify who had kidnapped him in the first place. But from the side of the roof access, Governor Jalorda walked into view. It seemed this was the Governor's doing.

"Greetings foreign officer, I'm certain that you're fearing for your life after that kidnapping? Apologies, I didn't mean to startle you by taking you, my accomplice thought it would be crucial not to tell you for your own safety" Governor Jalorda apologized to him.

"H-Huh? S-So you're not going to hurt me?" Ace stuttered a bit before regaining his composure "What's going on? Why was I taken?"

"I know about the Illusionist being out to get you and why you're here to hide from him" Governor Jalorda smirked at him.

Ace was about to respond by lying as usual, but Governor Jalorda interrupted him before he could speak again.

"Don't worry, I'm not the Illusionist, I just wanted to ensure your safety, which is why I had my accomplice take you here" Governor Jalorda explained.

"Thank you Governor, but I was already in good hands at the time, there's no need to give me any protection. You didn't need to kidnap me in the first place" Ace told him.

"Yes, it could be that it was unnecessary, but I wanted to meet you where there are no cameras around to follow us. With me being the governor, there are always aids near me. I'm sure you understand" Governor Jalorda explained to him.

"Why are you interested in me then? I'm just a foreign officer from another country?" Ace asked Governor Jalorda.

"I know about the Illusionist, and I consider it very important news. I suspect that the Illusionist may be here to corrupt the city" Governor Jalorda speculated.

"I know that the Illusionist is after me, but I doubt he'd be bold enough to take on a whole entire government. A-Are you even sure about what you're thinking?" Ace asked him, still shaking a bit.

"I noticed that the police team isn't as strong as they were lately. Have you met all the police chiefs yet?" Governor Jalorda asked him back, pacing and circling around him as he asked the question, which made Ace feel uneasy.

"Yes, Unnerve had me meet all the police chiefs so that we could work together to arrest the Illusionist once and for all" Ace answered, feeling like he now knew who had SnipeS spy on them.

"It sounds like a good idea to have everyone working together" Governor Jalorda smiled.

"What's the issue then?" Ace asked him, tilting his head a bit.

Governor Jalorda then leaned into one of his rabbit ears.

"If only that was the issue, right Mr Illusionist?" Governor Jalorda whispered into his ear.

Ace felt a sharp pain on his side as he looked down to see blood dripping down his body. Ace winced in agony as he slowly got down on one knee, feeling heavy all of a sudden.

He looked up to see Governor Jalorda smirking down at him.

"You know you can't hide anything from me. I know everything there is to know about you Mr Illusionist" Governor Jalorda said as he looked down at him.

Ace wanted to say something, but the sudden wound on his body made him too exhausted to speak as he started to collapse.

Ace started to fall on his back but was held on the arm by Governor Jalorda. Although his vision was blurry, he saw Governor Jalorda curl his scarf into a ball and threw it on the ground next to him.

Ace's persona changed back into his zoroark form. Governor Jalorda let him go as Nocturne panted on the ground in immense pain.

Nocturne looked up at Governor Jalorda towered over him while waving his paw.

"See, you cannot hide anything from me. I told you I know everything about you. I know about this scarf and who you are. I recommend you just lay there and die, and forget about your plans to take over the government. You're better off dead anyway" Governor Jalorda then walked towards the roof entrance, with Nocturne mustering enough energy to follow Governor Jalorda's path with his eyes.

Governor Jalorda then put his paw on the doorknob, and turned his attention towards Nocturne once more.

"Goodbye, Nocturne Lucix Caelus" Governor Jalorda said his farewell.

Nocturne began to slowly pass out after hearing his full name, trying to reach out to Governor Jalorda, wanting to ask him how he knew about him, the scarf, and his name. But no matter how hard he tried, his vision slowly faded, but not before he swore that he just saw Governor Jalorda turn into a zoroark as he entered through the door and closed it behind him.

Nocturne then turned his head towards the sky, trying to control his breathing as he lied down in a daze.

"I'm gonna die... I'm gonna die aren't I? Everything I've done was for nothing...!" Nocturne thought up in his head as he slowly began to cry "Someone... Please... Save me... Please...!"

"G-Gao... I'm sorry... I wished that you could have a better future... I'm so sorry for being a bad father... Unnerve... I just wanted to live the rest of my life with you... But it looks like I couldn't even have that..." Nocturne was getting closer and closer to passing out.

"Nocturne!!! Nocturne!!!" Nocturne heard the buzzing of a drone in the air a few minutes later as his name was being called out, before he felt himself being carried away as his consciousness faded.

In the same building Nocturne was attacked in, Governor Jalorda and Inferno were having a discussion in the elevator.

"I don't feel too pleased hunting down a citizen like that" Inferno disapproved of Governor Jalorda's orders.

"You forget that the fire bunny who you just took is the Illusionist. Do you still feel bad knowing it was him that you attacked?" Governor Jalorda asked him.

Inferno was completely shocked, considering that he thought that the foreign officer that the governor had told him to capture was actually the Illusionist himself.

"Do you have any proof of that?" Inferno asked him.

"I don't have to show anything to anyone. I am the governor, and you should stop asking questions unless you want me to think you're sympathizing with a criminal" Governor Jalorda warned him.

Inferno was about to say something, but decided against it.

"I'm heading home for today. I trust that you don't have anything else in mind for me" Inferno decided to head home and escape from this drama momentarily.

"I don't need anything from you right now, but keep your phone ready, I might have some orders to give you" Governor Jalorda smirked at him.

Inferno bit his tongue and nodded his head.

The elevator opened as they reached the ground floor.

"Goodbye Governor" Inferno went to the entrance, spread his wings, before flying away from the building.

As he was leaving, Inferno was seriously reconsidering his employment under Governor Jalorda.

"I swear I'll get down to the bottom of this. All this doesn't add up. Maybe Sleuth has an inkling" Inferno whispered to himself as he flew.

The elevator closed as Governor Jalorda would then transform back into Gao.

"I will ensure that the world we live in today will be mine, not yours Nocturne" Gao said to himself.
