As a car drove off into the road, it eventually reached its destination, which was the docks.

The car halted to a complete stop as four pokemorphs stepped out, which were a mightyena, typhlosion, goodra, and a dragapult. The goodra had clung around the mightyena, and the dragapult had done the same to the typhlosion respectively, nervous about where the two were going to be taken to.

The docks were practically teeming with some workers, some of which the two police chiefs had recognized were convicted of some crimes, making the two shiver in fear knowing that some of them may or may not have a grudge against anybody associated with the police in the first place.

"Hey, there's no need to be afraid. Nobody here's gonna touch you both, especially when we're around. Besides, you're on our side now. So there's no need for you to worry in the first place" Moxie assured the two of them.

Seth shook his head and clung tighter onto Moxie.

"N-No... I'm still scared... I never liked visiting this part of town!" Seth complained, shutting his eyes tight as he buried his face on Moxie's arm.

"I-I've never been here before... No wonder nobody patrols this part of town!" Sorien iterated, not wanting to spend another second in this area.

"Hehehe, don't worry, the other crime lords and I, along with Nocturne and Unnerve will assure both of your safety.

The two police chiefs looked at each other, before taking a deep breath and nodding their heads, before all of them pressed on towards the dock's main hangars.

As they walked towards the main hangars however, they heard what seemed to be an argument between a tyrantrum and a gallade.

Approaching closer, they got a better look at what the argument was about in the first place.

"For the last time, I was invited here by two other police chiefs, and if you don't let me in I'll be forced to enter by force" Leo warned the both of them.

"You're going to have to wait until these "friends" of yours arrive then. No one's allowed in here, right Xero?" The tyrantrum asked the typhlosion, who seemed to be named Xero.

"Yeah Heart! This is our turf! So play by our rules or expect double trouble from us!" The typhlosion said as he placed one of his fists in his other hand.

"I have the authority to arrest you both on the spot, but I have been asked to not be on active duty. So you two better let me in right now" Leo warned the two of them.

Before the two assigned guards could counter Leo's claims once more, Moxie and the others arrived to put a stop to the argument.

"Relax, this guy's with us. Stop stirring up trouble for us" Baku informed both of them.

Leo was surprised they arrived sooner than he expected, but was nonetheless glad that they were here.

The two recognized their superior, and became compliant to them.

"Sorry boss, but this copper here is causing some trouble for us. We can't risk it" Xero said, trying to explain their reasoning.

"Then neither of you should have laid a hand on him. Nocturne is expecting him, or else you'll both feel the wrath of Nocturne and Unnerve if they found out you gave him trouble getting in" Moxie warned both of them.

"Tch... We don't understand why we have to work with these "pigs"... But alright" The two step aside and open the door to let them in.

Leo turns towards the four of them.

"Thank you for your assistance. I didn't want to be late, which was why I wanted to get in as soon as possible" Leo told them, before walking inside and the four followed him in.

As the five walked inside, Leo decided to introduce himself. He owed them at the very least for helping him get in.

"My name's Leo, or Chief Leo if you want to be more formal. I didn't necessarily need any help earlier, I could have subdued them both with my psychic powers easily. But thank you nonetheless for resolving things without violence" Leo thanked them, which Sorien and Seth smiled at.

"We're glad that you've finally joined us. Hopefully we can convince Ken to join us as well" Sorien told him, which Leo chuckled at.

"I actually knew about Nocturne the moment he went into the meeting. I was overly curious however on why Unnerve would be working with him, which is why I decided to withhold that information from the rest of you. After meeting up with both of them, and getting an explanation of why they're doing what they were doing, I decided this was the best course of action for everyone. The cause is righteous, and if we are to succeed, everyone is going to benefit from it. Even if it meant going against the current ideals of the government" Leo explained.

"Yes, Nocturne has a noble goal ahead of us. One that will shape all of our futures, even Baku has been helping me along the way" Sorien informed Leo.

"Yes, Nocturne has changed my whole life in a similar way as well. I'm looking forward to a better future, especially with Moxie by my side... I hope I can pardon his criminal status too after this" Seth added in.

Moxie and Baku blushed at the compliments they were getting, not too used to the treatment they were getting, especially from police chiefs.

"I'm just following orders from the boss is all... But I'm still glad I met you Seth" Moxie told Seth.

"Yeah, Nocturne's end goal is everyone's goal. But being with Sorien is a plus" Baku said modestly.

"Heh... Never thought I'd see some crime lords and police chiefs getting along this easily, it's amusing really. I guess that Nocturne has a way of rubbing off on others" Leo chuckled at them.

As they headed further inside the hideout, all of the thugs looked at them as they walked further into unfamiliar territory.

The other troops of Nocturne's crew turned their eyes towards them, looking at them all suspiciously.

Leo wasn't at all phased by the buff looking pokemorphs that were looking at them in a hostile manner, while Sorien and Seth clung onto Moxie and Baku even tighter, frightened by the many criminals and how they felt like they weren't supposed to be here in the first place.

They could hear several whispers from all of them, they were obviously not welcomed by them.

"Why are we having more coppers here all of a sudden?" One whispered to another.

"Gabu and Unnerve were already enough, but why are there three more? Especially police chiefs!?" Another asked, not at all welcoming the concept of having more and more cops among them.

"Hmph! This is getting too crazy and reckless, what if one of them rats us out?" One said suspiciously.

"Wait... I recognize one of them! He's the one that put me in jail!" One pointed at Leo.

"Nocturne better have a good reason for this... I'm starting to have some doubts about his plans..." One said, getting more and more suspicious about Nocturne.

Upon hearing that last sentence, Moxie turned to whoever had said the last part, not tolerating any potential insubordination among the others.

"Hey! You listen here. Nocturne knows what he's doing alright. He has word from these police chiefs that they support him. Now none of you better lay a fucking paw on any of them or else you'll experience a world of pain! If I find out that anything has happened to these three, especially Chief Seth, I'll make sure you all pay!" Moxie asked them, displaying a clear sense of leadership among these goons.

"Same goes for me. Chief Leo, Chief Seth, and especially Chief Sorien are our honored guests, therefore you will treat them all with respect. Or else I will personally inflict fiery pain upon you. Do you hear me!?" Baku added in, quelling whatever thoughts of rebelling sounded in the crowd.

"... Yes sir" The murmuring died down as they all understood and respected what the two crime lords had ordered them.

"Good... Now move along, we don't have much time to waste around here" Moxie ordered them, before continuing on to their destination, which was the backrooms.

"An impressive display of leadership from the both of you if I must say" Leo complimented the both of them.

"Well we have to keep them in line, or else they get really rowdy. Especially when they see faces they do not want around here. When Gabu and Unnerve first arrived here, it wasn't easy for them to come to terms that two cops were among us (sus), especially with how important the two of them were in the first place to be around here. But overtime, the group had accepted them as one of their own, and I assume the same will happen to the three of you with some time spent here" Moxie said, smirking at Leo.

"It will take time, but the three of you will be accepted here eventually, although it's not going to be easy with how many of the other criminals recognize some of you" Baku added in to the conversation to assure them.

"... I would like to make more friends then, I'll try my best to convince them that I won't do anything to harm any of them while I'm here" Seth resolved himself.

"I-I may be scared now, but I think I'll gain more confidence and be more comfortable with the crew here, the longer I spend time in this place" Sorien chimed in.

The two crime lords laughed before kissing them both in the cheek.

"We'll always be with you so take your time" Baku told the both of them.

The four of them blushed, while Leo smiled at them, happy that they were developing themselves, far away from what the former chiefs had intended for them to stay as.

"Sorry for the commotion earlier Leo, everyone's been paranoid about the police chiefs or any of the others ratting us out and having everyone get arrested on the spot. It could jeopardize all of our plans. We got a bit carried away, especially after the police raid" Moxie apologized to Leo.

"There's no need to apologize, in fact, I'd feel the same way too I imagine once I finish helping Nocturne with these goals. But it's a risk I'm willing to risk nonetheless" Leo told Moxie.

"And what are these feelings that you mean?" Moxie asked him further, wanting to elaborate on what Leo meant.

"Everyone will find out in the meeting in a few minutes, so please, keep yourself patient until then" Leo refused to explain any further, at least until the meeting.

Arriving at the entrance, Gabu and Vern were waiting for them to finally appear.

"Alright, took you long enough, get in. Nocturne told us to open these doors once you got here" Vern said as he and Gabu opened the entrance, pulling the metal doors to the side as the rest of them entered.

"At least everyone is nice and casual here, most of everyone I know at least" Leo commented.

"Don't worry. You'll all fit in eventually, so try not to feel intimidated by everyone." Baku

reminded the chiefs.

As the five of them walked inside, a question came up to Baku, a question that made him suspect something from Leo.

"Say, how'd you even get here anyway? I didn't see any other car at the entrance" Baku asked him curiously.

"I have a powerful and convenient way around town. I can teleport anywhere and anytime that I want, provided I went there before" Gallade told him.

"Wait... You've been here before?" Baku asked him.

"Yeah, this place has been a site in a smuggling operation back then. I didn't enter inside though which is why I couldn't exactly teleport past those guys" Leo walked further before Baku could ask even more questions, and catching up to Leo, followed by the other chiefs, and lastly Gabu and Vern.

"Ah, you've finally arrived. I was worried you weren't going to make it in time tonight" Nocturne waved over to them, along with Kain and SnipeS.

"It's good to finally see you again. I didn't expect you to make this a base of operations. This has been a smuggling site once, and you took a big risk taking this place" Leo warned Nocturne.

"I legally purchased an agreement to use this place of course, as long as we didn't do anything shady, everyone was none the wiser" Nocturne winked at Leo.

"That's... Very risky, I don't know if I could even do that" Sorien said, thinking if police could come at any point and bust all of them.

"Yeah, we could still be in danger of being discovered at any moment" Seth agreed with Sorien.

"Calm down you two, we've been doing this for months now, and I doubt we'd get discovered within a day" Moxie tried to ease their discomfort.

"You two are being too paranoid" Baku added, squeezing Sorien's arm.

"Well I guess that comes naturally with what we're doing. After all, one mistake can end our plans" Gabu interjected.

"Besides, Nocturne trusted them enough, and I doubt he'd easily let others get in here without his knowledge" Vern added.

"I'm pretty sure with someone as careful as Nocturne being here, we wouldn't be getting busted anytime soon" SnipeS commented.

"I can imagine that" Kain agreed.

"Whatever, let's start the meeting already so we can kick Ken's ass to joining us already" Unnerve rolled his eyes.

They all sat in a round table like set up, as each took a seat to finally discuss things with each other, and how they would plan out their final confrontation of the final chief.

"Everyone, I'd like you all to know our latest comrade that we have recruited today, Chief Leo. He's the newest one here, as well as these other two, so go easy on them, today at least" Unnerve welcomed Leo.

"Hello everyone, it's nice to know that I have many people to depend on for this whole operation... Wait... Is that you Kain? SnipeS?" Leo chuckled, before becoming surprised by the presence of SnipeS and Kain who were here in the first place.

"Chief Seth and Sorien had the same reaction, so I'm not surprised you'd have done the same" SnipeS shrugged.

"I see... Despite everyone's convictions here, Nocturne has been rather persuasive in getting everyone to join so far" Leo concluded.

Before more talk could be said however, they were cut off by Unnerve coughing rather loudly.

"We can do some small talk later, but right now we need to discuss other matters first" Unnerve said, getting a bit impatient with them.

Everyone nodded while Unnerve continued his speech.

"As you may or may not know right now, Waru is not present at the moment. He's not in any danger but he's staying behind to guard the station with Fry. They'll be overlooking the station so there's no need to worry about them unless they contact us.

Unnerve shook his head, he didn't want to even give Fry that much of an important duty, but he knew better than to not follow the rules he had given him, so he let it go.

"Fry is the last person I expect, or even trust to do that. But with Waru, I think he'll keep him in check, just in case. I'm confident nothing major will happen with those two in the station, but I have faith that Fry will do a decent job guarding the place" Unnerve continued to announce to everyone.

Unnerve turned towards Gabu and Vern.

"While we were away trying to convince Chief Leo to join us, Lieutenant Gabu and Vern saw nothing out of the ordinary that were suspicious to their knowledge. Fry, Wendie, and Swamps too apparently had no issues as well" Unnerve reported.

"Nothing even happens, so there's nothing to even worry about in the first place" Vern said, rolling his eyes.

"Have you forgotten that the moment something happens when we let our guard down, it could spell the end of everything for us!?" Unnerve snapped at Vern.

"The police raid was the only thing that ever happened to your stupid station in a long time! And last I checked, that's not the only thing you should be worrying about" Vern smirked at him.

"Grrr... And that is?" Unnerve asked him.

"You or Nocturne getting kidnapped. Of course, that is if you let your guard down" Vern answered.

Unnerve visibly blew smoke from his nostrils, and raised a fist towards Vern, who got up and was ready to trade punches with him. In response, Nocturne grabbed his arm and stopped him, while Gabu held Vern back before things could escalate any further.

"We don't need a reenactment of the police chief meeting right now!" Nocturne reminded Unnerve.

"Stop antagonizing Chief Unnerve! This is the last thing we need to deal with right now!" Gabu scolded Vern.

"Tch... Fine. Sorry, I was just trying to make light of the situation until you became all serious" Vern rolled his eyes and apologized.

"Sorry... But you shouldn't have been so overzealous with these kinds of things in the first place" Unnerve apologized, although begrudgingly so.

"I've never seen someone calm Unnerve down so quickly before" Chief Leo commented, shocked at how Unnerve was stopped before things could get violent between them.

"Yeah, normally Unnerve would lash out at everyone and start throwing chairs around whenever he lost his temper" Sorien added in, which Seth nodded to.

Unnerve turned towards the three other chiefs, clearly not liking being the talk of the room.

"The Unnerve of the past has changed, so there's no longer any need to bring up any of his past behaviors. He's working on being a bit more understanding now, and even though he still possesses quite the temper, I still love that about him, and we're working together on it" Nocturne spoke for Unnerve, so as not to make the dragon angry again.

Everyone snickered and laughed as they heard these words though.

Unnerve suddenly slammed his heavy fists on the table, having had enough of all this gossip about him.

"The meeting isn't about me damn it! It's about the mission!" Unnerve glared at everyone.

Everyone quickly nodded their heads, understanding now that maybe they should keep quiet after all.

Nocturne gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, before Unnerve continued to talk.

"Kain, SnipeS, what did you find out about your meeting with Sleuth and Inferno?" Unnerve asked them.

"We actually discussed this with Nocturne yesterday, but I'll repeat what we talked about. We haven't found out much without looking suspicious towards Inferno. Inferno told me that I would be tailing you and Nocturne at a distance when you eventually go to your meeting with Chief Ken. Before that though, Inferno asked me to observe as much as I can about your station, and talk with all the officers about you" SnipeS told Unnerve.

"My job is to ensure SnipeS' safety throughout the mission in case anything goes wrong, and plan out an escape route if he needs it. If it's necessary, I'd make an interference via 911 calls to distract officers or cause some chaos in the station" Kain relayed to everyone.

"Wait... What? Why would you tell them to stir up trouble in the station in the first place?" Unnerve asked Nocturne, making the zoroark laugh.

"Hehehe, it's not actually going to happen. That's just what they're going to tell Inferno and Sleuth once they were done.

"Yes, we'll try to make up a report on what had happened, and Nocturne talked to some selected officers on what to say. If Unnerve and Nocturne were to leave the station, I'm supposed to follow them to that new destination, and immediately report who they had met up with, which we all can assume it is Chief Ken" SnipeS iterated.

"And he has all the gear he needs when it happens, so our plan should be foolproof" Kain added.

"You better not mess it up then, or else we'll have to deal with that stupid fire lizard and that blue dinosaur" Unnerve blew a puff of smoke.

"I embody perfection, no screw ups or mishaps will happen under my watch" SnipeS smirked.

"You really need to stop being a narcissist at times" Kain said as he leaned his head against his shoulder.

Unnerve rolled his eyes before turning towards Leo.

"Chief Leo, all eyes are on you now" Unnerve sat as he gave Leo the floor.

Leo stood up and thankfully nodded to Unnerve.

"Despite the past that everyone here has, I'm happy that you're all working together despite the conflicted past that we all have with each other. Don't get me wrong, I still believe in defending the law. But l believe that Nocturne's vision to change the law is a just one, a change that's been long overdue. And I'm looking forward to working with Nocturne to do just that, but only if he's able to help me with one smaller goal first" Chief Leo announced.

Murmurs rang out, wondering what this smaller goal was.

"And that goal is to bring Chief Ken on our side as well" Chief Leo continued.

"Tch... That fire chicken is nearly impossible to persuade, especially with how the last meeting had gone, he'll surely be seeking revenge on me" Unnerve grunted angrily at the thought of Chief Ken.

"I understand that it will be tough, but Chief Ken needs to be on our side, because I cannot dare harm him if he wants to join. We grew up together in the academy, growing up from a family of police officers ourselves. Yes, Chief Sal was my grandfather, even if we weren't related by blood, or in any other way that didn't relate to being a police officer. I don't want Chief Ken to fall into a trap, just like Unnerve fell into a trap with Chief Kai. He doesn't deserve it, no matter how mean he can get" Chief Leo told everyone, trying to garner even a small amount of sympathy from everyone listening.

"What's Chief Ken's relationship with Chief Tai? Is he undergoing the special training? Is he being abused as well?" Nocturne asked Leo curiously.

"I... I am hesitant to talk about it, it's an uncomfortable subject matter for myself. But what I will tell you is that Chief Tai was a "figure" to Chief Ken in a way that he had to be an ideal and perfect student in every aspect that he can think of... This is not the recruit that I had heard of, but he had to be a perfectionist in his family as a result, always having top marks too" Chief Leo answered Nocturne.

Nocturne's ears perked up as soon as he heard the word "recruit"

"What do you mean recruit? Did you meet anyone else that fits that description?" Nocturne asked him, making Chief Leo blink a few times in surprise.

"Well I remember a recruit being selected to be a police chief, but things didn't turn out as everyone hoped for it to be" Chief Leo simply said.

"Can you elaborate more on why it didn't turn out as everyone hoped it would be?" Nocturne asked, pressing him further.

"I only knew a little bit from what Chief Sal told me, but he was greatly considering this recruit to be a police chief. The thing is that the recruit suddenly vanished, so I can imagine that they couldn't recruit someone who was missing" Chief Leo answered Nocturne's question.

"What do you mean by vanishing!?" Nocturne yelled as he immediately got off his chair.

"I don't know more, Chief Sal focused on me after the vanishing of the recruit. Said recruit had nothing left to trace him back, not an address, not a phone number, or where he went. It's like he just up and left, without informing anyone too, and taking everything he had" Leo shook his head solemnly.

Nocturne sank from his chair and began to cry.

"That... That was the same story that Chief Seth had told me... My son... He... He might be gone for good..." Nocturne held back tears.

"Don't worry about it, this may not be true. Something else might have happened to him, so there's no use worrying about it yet" Unnerve rubbed Nocturne's back, making Nocturne look back at him.

"I kept hoping and hoping to find him, hoping that one day he'll turn out to be working in another station... But now I'm not so sure anymore..." Nocturne said as he looked back at Unnerve.

"Don't lose hope, just like how you didn't lose hope to bring me back to my senses. I'll always stand by your side, along with everyone else in this room" Unnerve brought him into a tight hug in an attempt to bring Nocturne any sort of comfort.

Nocturne looked back at everyone he had recruited so far.

"Don't lose hope, you haven't even found out what exactly happened yet" Kain told him.

"He may be in hiding, knowing how nefarious the other chiefs were so far. It's not out of the question he might be hiding" SnipeS tried to give a valid hypothesis.

"He may have been threatened, so the only option for him before he got in too deep was to erase any trace of him" Gabu theorized.

"And even if he did, we'll track him down, even if we have to beat it out of the former chiefs" Vern gave his assurance.

"And I'll help out too, because what kind of chief would I be if I don't even try" Sorien chimed in.

"And I can't call myself a police chief if I don't try to help my friends" Seth added.

"I'll even break my code of honor not to read other people's minds if I have to. Vanishing, but never telling the people you care about... I won't let anybody else have their final goodbyes stolen from them... Not like what happened with my parents" Leo finally said.

Nocturne smiled and wiped the tears from his eyes as he looked at everyone gratefully.

"Thank you everyone, for having my back" Nocturne thanked them.

Unnerve then turned back at Leo, prompting him to continue with his speech again.

"I did not intend to harm anyone or provide any misinformation, but this is all I know regarding Nocturne's son. But I think that Chief Ken may or may not know anything about it, since Chief Tai tends to tell Chief Ken everything that happens. Out of all of us, Chief Ken seemed to be the most cooperative from their mentors. I just hope he isn't in too deep with Chief Tai" Leo continued, which Nocturne nodded to, now filled with determination.

"I'll do everything in my power to help Chief Ken join our side, of that you can be sure" Nocturne assured Leo.

"And I'll do my best too, even if it means that I'll be working alongside that rooster" Unnerve patted on Nocturne's shoulder.

Unnerve then turned to the crowd, and decided that it was now a good time to tell them what they were going to do.

"Gabu, Vern, continue to survey the station, and utilize the secret agents within the station if you have to for any reason that would dispel any unrest" Unnerve ordered Gabu and Vern.

"We'll do our best" Gabu and Vern replied. Satisfied with the answer he got from them, Unnerve turned towards SnipeS and Kain.

"You two, follow through with your plan and keep lying. I want whoever hired Inferno to be thrown off our trail with any information you give him. Remember, we're trying to find out who took an interest in Unnerve and his station, and we can't risk losing our cover. Do you two understand?" Unnerve asked SnipeS and Kain.

"Whoever it is, it must be someone with a lot of connections if they convinced Inferno to approach me about it. But I must admit it's fun getting to relive "bugging your station again" SnipeS chuckled, making Unnerve roll his eyes.

"You're getting carried away again, Kain, keep him in check" Unnerve gave an annoyed grunt.

"We'll try to know as much as we can. I won't let SnipeS go overboard" Kain laughed.

Unnerve turned toward the remaining five of them.

"What would you like for us to do in the meantime?" Baku asked Unnerve.

"You should all lay low and try to monitor your own stations individually. I want you all to watch for anything suspicious, as well as act natural. We don't want you getting found out because you've started acting too obviously. If you need to, try to contact Gabu, Vern, or anybody else through the private channel, just don't let anybody catch you doing so" Unnerve ordered them.

"We'll do our best to ensure the success of Nocturne's plans" Seth and Sorien concurred.

"And we'll do our best to ensure our partner's safety" Moxie and Baku replied in turn.

Unnerve and Leo made eye contact with each other, wondering what they would even say to each other.

"I have some plans of my own to take care of" Chief Leo told him, before Unnerve could come up with anything for him to do.

"And may I know what these "plans" of yours are?" Unnerve asked him.

"Sorry, but these plans are not for anybody to know, just an insurance for its safety" Leo warned him.

Unnerve and Vern felt a bit uneasy, for all they know, it might be a plan to expose all of them, making paranoia run through their mind.

"You can't keep secrets from us if you're going to be a part of the group in the first place" Vern tried to interrogate Leo.

"Secrets plants paranoia and doubt among everyone, so please, tell us what it is and we'll drop it immediately. We won't tell anyone if we have to, just tell us what the plan is" Unnerve surprisingly agreed with Vern.

"I swear I will not jeopardize the plan, I'm simply asking all of you to trust me" Leo requested.

Everyone began looking at each other, not sure what to say, and whether or not to blindly trust Leo.

"I trust you Leo, go ahead with your plans. You trusted in me when you decided to withhold vital information from the other chiefs when you found me out in the meeting. You had all the power to reveal my true identity all this time but you didn't until we approached you, so I think you're trustworthy enough to make this gamble. You chose not to reveal my identity so I know that you have a good plan in store. Even though I don't like being kept in the dark about something like this, maybe it's better to be ignorant about something like it for this to succeed" Nocturne broke the silence.

"Fine, but if anything happens alright, it's all on you" Vern said, lending what little trust he could spare to him.

"Well it's better than nothing, and if this plan is good, we can thank him for it then" Unnerve told otherwise.

Everyone else agreed, with things being less forceful now.

"Thank you Nocturne, for that rousing speech to get everyone to trust me" Leo smiled at Nocturne.

"Then the meeting is adjourned, there's nothing more to be said, I won't be repeating any questions. If you have any, ask one another, not me" Unnerve ended the meeting.

"Enjoy yourselves tonight, tomorrow will be a very busy day. Me and Unnerve will be busy ourselves, so we won't be able to join any of you for the festivities" Nocturne informed all of them, which Unnerve nodded to.

"Have fun everyone, but please make sure nothing happens to the three other police chiefs outside these walls" Unnerve warned all of them.

Ace turned his head for a moment, seeming a bit surprised at the personality on display.

He is aware of the animosity shared between the two chiefs, but this was a bit more

than usual, at least from what he can tell.

"I see... Well, I'm more than qualified to give you a tour, I've been in this station for at least a year now. Why don't I show the combat practice area?" Lieutenant Garen offered them.

"We'd like that" Ace agreed, with Unnerve nodding in agreement to the decision.

As they left for the combat practice area, Ace and Unnerve saw many other pokemorphs looking at them.

Ace and Unnerve didn't know how to react, not sure what to think about how they were staring. It wasn't the normal stare you'd get from someone you didn't know, it was a stare that held a certain scrutiny behind them.

"That's him?" One of them, a lickitung whispered.

"I expected more out of a police chief" Another one, an exploud whispered.

"I wouldn't say that out loud in front of them if I were you" A third one, an absol warned them.

Unnerve shrugged those comments off, not paying attention to what they were saying, but Ace quickly picked up on their attitude. It seemed that the pokemorphs here have some discrimination against Unnerve, no doubt instilled by Chief Ken himself.

They eventually reach the combat practice area, seeing officers performing drills and target practice training. From what Ace observed, a lot of them nearly had perfect accuracy, hitting the bullseye, with only two or three stray bullets missing the middle target by an inch, while the other officers seemed to be performing surprisingly well. Ace even found a snorlax moving at a speed that of which shouldn't be possible based on the mass he had.

Ace and Unnerve thought of how much Unnerve's competition would face, if the two would duke it out based on the performance.

"Tch... Didn't expect a station like this to perform that well" Unnerve muttered, almost a bit bitter from the performance, comparing his station's officers with Ken's.

"You shouldn't make that sort of comment here" Ace nudged Unnerve.

"Heh, my station is the best, that won't change, especially now that my team is" Unnerve smirked at him.

They eventually reached a door that led to Chief Ken's office.

"This is Chief Ken's office, and he's available right now. I hope you enjoyed observing the combat practice area, as brief as it was" Lieutenant Garen closed the door behind them.

As they entered further into Chief Ken's office, he was busy beating up a punching bag in the middle of the room. He was punching and kicking it rather aggressively, nothing to be surprised about.

But as they walked closer, they saw a picture attached to the punching bag, that being of Chief Unnerve's face.

Chief Ken reeled back before charging a blaze kick and kicking the punching bag square on the picture attached to it, knocking the punching bag off its post.

Unnerve scoffed in disgust, while Ace frowned in disappointment. Ken must really loathe Unnerve that much to have gone that far to attach a picture to a punching bag.

Chief Ken finally noticed them, before smirking and kicking the punching bag aside, as if in mockery of Unnerve and a display of disrespect.

"Well well well, you see what I did to that punching bag? Bet none of you can do that. But I'm surprised to see you here, Unnerve, come to bask in the glory of my strength and superiority?" Chief Ken gloated at them.

"Tch... If you must know, I'm surprised I'm even here right now" Unnerve shook his head spitefully.

"Well then, if you must know, I can let everything between us, including my low attempts of embarrassing and undermining everything you worked for be in the past. BUT only if you apologize to me, and to admit that I'm better than you" Chief Ken gloated, clearly he hadn't changed from their last encounter.

"W-Where'd you even get that idea from?" Unnerve asked, shocked that he would even ask for something like that, which he wouldn't easily do for anybody, especially Ken.

"Did you really think I'd let you step foot in my station willy nilly just like that? Well guess what, I wouldn't skip the chance of letting you grovel before me and apologize for your behavior in our last meeting. I should be the best chief around, not you. It's too good a chance to not pass up being number one after all" Chief Ken explained to him.

Unnerve's jaw dropped at Ken's demeanor, while Ace intercepted Chief Ken.

"And why would you think Unnerve would even do that?" Ace asked Chief Ken.

"I spoke with Chief Leo, and he told me that Unnerve wanted to speak about something important. You're not at all invited in my station but Leo convinced me otherwise, and that Unnerve wants to kiss and makeup for everything" Chief Ken explained further, smirking at Ace and Unnerve.

Ace finally understood that this was all Leo's doing, and how they were easily able to meet with Ken without him turning them away, given Unnerve and Ken's hostility with each other.

Before Ace could speak though, Unnerve's anger got the best of him and started shouting at Ken.

"If you think that you can get an apology out of me, then you'll have to beat it out of me first!" Unnerve yelled.

"Oh? Is that it? You didn't come here to willfully give me your apology? Then I WILL beat it out of you! Let's end this here right now with a sparring match! We'll finally prove that I'm obviously a better chief than you... Unless you're scared" Ken smirked at him, knowing there was no way that Unnerve would ever refuse such a thing, not with the pride that he had.

"Unnerve! We're not here to fight! Let's talk things out with Ken, there's no need for this!" Ace immediately stood up in protest.

"All that bastard thinks about is with his muscles, and not with his chicken brain!" Unnerve shook his head in disapproval of Ken.

"At least I'm not as stupid as a dragon, not like your entire group are" Ken goaded at Unnerve.

This struck a nerve in him, and charged at Ken with his dragon claws full of rage.

Ken easily dodged his swipes and backflipped a few feet away from Unnerve.

"Wait, Unnerve! Stop! We can still resolve things peacefully!" Ace warned Unnerve, blocking him from fighting any further.

"Step aside Ace! This is between me and Ken!" Unnerve growled.

Ace shook his head in disapproval of Unnerve, who wouldn't even listen to him, doing as he was told and pressing his back against the wall. He thought about just how far Ken would go with the animosity between them, and the comment earlier about Unnerve and his group, and not particularly the police station.

Unnerve struck Ken with his dragon claws, while Ken used his blaze kicks to counter them, producing sparks from their attacks.

"You live up to being a cock! Just like your heritage of being a chicken!" Unnerve mocked him, making a hard swing to Ken's face, only to be blocked by a blaze kick from his flexible leg.

"You're acting all high and mighty just because you're a dragon, but the truth is you're a weakling deep down inside!" Chief Ken retorted, his blaze kicks growing hotter with each second that passed.

Ace tried to make sense of the hatred, but all he could come up with was that Unnerve was a dragon. Perhaps he hated dragons for a reason? Did one of the former chiefs do this?

Evenly matched, the two jumped away from each other from across the room, panting as they hadn't damaged one another in any way, at least not yet.

"You don't understand what I've been through, you had it easier with being a favorite prospect of Chief Kai! I had to work extremely hard to get where I am today, only to be stood up by a privileged dragon like you who had it easier than me with Chief Kai on your back!" Chief Ken growled at Unnerve.

"You idiot... My life was hell under Chief Kai! You don't know anything about me and what I've been through with his training!" Unnerve argued, clearly offended that Chief Ken assumed that he had it easy.

Ken laughed at Unnerve's statement.

"If you only knew what Chief Tai had put ME through!" Chief Ken laughed in pure mockery of him.

Unnerve then relaxed his stance, realizing his pain might have been worse than his, which in turn shocked Ken.

"You... You're weak for even giving me a wide opening! Is this a joke to you!? Is my challenge really that big of a joke!? Are you looking down on me!?" Chief Ken asked Unnerve, offended by him.

"Fighting is no longer my thing now, if I can negotiate something, given the chance, then I'd take it. I want to know more about what Chief Tai did to you to make you hate me so much" Unnerve simply said to him.

Ken gritted his teeth, he hated that Unnerve wasn't fighting him, it wouldn't be satisfying if he didn't fight back.

"If you want to find out so much then I'll tell you. It's not fucking satisfying to beat you down if you're not being serious" Chief Ken said before he started to recall the whole story with Chief Tai.

Officer Ken was having a meeting with Chief Tai, just after busting a few crime operations in the city at that time. Unnerve's rage started to boil, it took everything he could to stop himself from lunging at Chief Ken before looking at Ace's eyes, before his anger dissipated.

"Then tell me the serious parts of the story then, not the unnecessary stupid shit that you're talking to me about. If you don't, I'm leaving without finishing this fight" Unnerve scoffed at him.

"Then that would make you a coward!" Chief Ken yelled at him, hoping to anger him again.

"I won't even engage you in this, I won't give you the satisfaction of making me angry anymore. So tell me what I want to hear or I'll just walk away. Your choice. Either way, there is no victory since no fight occurred' Unnerve retorted.

Chief Ken tightened his talons, he hated how much Unnerve was refusing to fight him. It made him angrier than when Unnerve hurled insults back at him.

Officer Ken was called again to Chief Tai's office for another meeting, but this time Chief Tai had seemed more irritated than pleased.

"That haxorus that let that thief get away is in Chief Kai's good graces again. How you could not easily replace him!? Now that same dragon took your rightful place, and he's staying for good" Chief Tai lamented, frustrated and mad at Officer Ken.

There's another candidate in the academy that can be a better candidate than you, better than you ever will I bet. At least this officer seems to want to be here, unlike you" Chief Tai shook his head in disappointment.

"No! No please! I'll do anything! I'll continue to try my best! What can I do to please you again?" Officer Ken pleaded with him.

Upon hearing that, Chief Tai evilly smirked.

"Anything?" Chief Tai asked him.

"Anything! I'll do whatever it takes" Officer Ken nodded.

"After all the humiliation I felt from the "Advanced training" I received from Chief Tai, I told myself I'll do whatever it takes to show everybody that police chiefs don't only have to be dragons, they can be anything else, like me and Chief Leo, stupid lizard" Chief Ken said with evident resentment towards Unnerve.

A metaphorical lightbulb lit up in Unnerve's head as he figured out why he was mad at him.

"I see now..." Unnerve said before getting into a fighting stance. Chief Ken had developed an internal hatred towards anybody who were dragon types, readying his dragon claws as he prepared to fight him again.

Ken smirked and lit his legs on fire in response, finally getting the fight he wanted from him.

"I feel sorry for you Ken, just like the history that you went through" Unnerve said, with a few tears coming from his eyes.

"You'll never understand my hate for you" Chief Ken said disdainfully as he spat to the side before charging in with a blaze kick.

The two then resumed their fight, with Unnerve slashing with his claws, and Ken kicking with his talons, deflecting each other's attacks each time as sparks flew in the air of the impact.

"You ruined my life, that's what you did. And you can never make it right again!" Chief Ken said as he continued kicking at Unnerve.

"I didn't ruin your life! It's Chief Tai you should be blaming! Not me!" Unnerve retorted as he slashed again.

"Do you think I'm being delusional? Heh, maybe, but the blame is still on you no matter what! I will NEVER forgive you Unnerve! Never!" Chief Ken kept kicking him faster now, but Unnerve deflected all of them.

The two took a bit reprieve after a few minutes, catching their breath from the continuous fighting they had done.

"I will win this fight and show you that you're wrong all along for thinking like this. Being the best chief around isn't all that special, we should all be working together instead!" Unnerve told Chief Ken his resolve.

"Hahahahaha! Say all the brave things you want! Once I become the best chief and prove to everyone how inferior you are to me, I'll make sure you'll never step in uniform ever again!" Chief Ken declared before reaching into his pocket to fish for something.

It was a stone, an ivory colored stone with a red hue in the middle, it was a blazikenite from what Unnerve had recognized.

"Ken! That's cheating! Are you really going to condone cheating just to prove your point!?" Unnerve tried to persuade him from using it.

Chief ken just smirked evilly at him.

"I will do whatever it takes to win, especially against you" Chief Ken then pressed it against his wrist, before engulfing himself in a rainbow colored light.

Ace and Unnerve shielded their eyes as the light blinded them, before lowering their arms as Chief Ken became a mega blaziken.

Chief Ken stood there, smugly looking at Unnerve, who was in shock at what he had witnessed. Ace stood by, his eyes opened wide as well from not expecting any of this.

"Tch... You can use all the advantages you want to use, either way, I'll still win" Unnerve stated before he cracked his claws.

Unnerve was expecting another smartass remark or insult, but instead, Chief Ken smirked before launching a blaze kick at him at an incredible speed. "Don't get overconfident, I've yet to show you your place" Unnerve said before the two charged at each other again.

Unnerve kept slashing at him with his dragon claws, and Chief Ken used his now stronger and hotter blaze kicks in retaliation.

"Damn it... His blows are not just stronger... He's going faster too... I can feel my bones shake each time his kicks land against my claws... Like I'm hitting metal..." Unnerve thought as he kept fighting him.

"What's wrong? I thought you were stronger than that huh!? I thought you were going to show me my place!" Chief Ken taunted as he kept kicking rapidly.

As much as Unnnerve didn't want to admit it, he was starting to lose this fight badly. There was now a very apparent gap in power compared to the two of them.
