Path of the Emerald Maiden is a coming-of-age adventure story with mild horror elements and, due to its nature, contains violent (and occasionally gory) scenes. This erotica seeks to tell a story first and excite in the other way second. You could read the entire thing and enjoy it without even being into the content depicted.

All of the violence depicted within the book is for story purposes only and exists independent of sex scenes, though they may be next to them. You can expect scenes of giant alien-on-person sex, said giant alien harming people, and acts of depravity such as torturous murder. The story is ultimately about the protagonist’s struggle to accept her new life and her journey in the doing, along with the changes that occur within her.

Description:

A young woman from a pre-neolithic society is accidentally whisked away to another world entirely during a raid on a research lab run by alien invaders. Stranded with no friends, badly injured, and no idea where home even is, she's forced to live off the land and learn how to survive in this strange and hostile world.

There's only one slight problem, though.

She's not trapped in this world with them. They're trapped in this world with her.

This story will have a very slow and intermittent pace to begin with. True stakes don't really show up until halfway through, though the build-up is always there in the background. Chapter 28: Hump of the Trip

#

“Emeral. Come on, get up girl," I coax the sick alien on the ground.

And here she was so insistent earlier that we get on the move...

I wasn't happy to be moving away from home, but I suppose it's better to have inevitably run into civilization than potentially miss Gold River or have issues convincing her to let me take her to my house. Another reason I wasn't particularly happy was because I forgot that I was technically kidnapped.

There are people looking for me. Frank and my family have got to be worried sicker than Emeral apparently is. She seemed totally fine up 'til now.

I prod her armored side with my hiking boot again.

“C'mon. Up. Up. Let's go."

“Hrrrrhf," she grunts.

I can't tell whether she's about to keel over dead or if she's only being lazy. Either way, I need to get to a pay phone and let everyone know that I'm fine. I don't have any money on me but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. A wound like hers could potentially be pretty serious but considering the fast clotting, illness and internal damage are probably the only real issues. Neither of which would down her this fast.

There's no way that I can move her, but I can't just leave her out here. Not only would I probably not be able to find her again, she might wander off or get attacked again either by a wild animal or some random guy like last time!

Yes, she abducted me. Yes, she killed someone. But she's... I don't know what she is, but she doesn't seem to know better. She's alone in a strange place and... whether I like it or not I suppose I feel some odd burden of responsibility to make sure she gets through this.

I didn't ask for this. I just want to go home, hug my family, and lay in bed for four weeks! Now I've got a sick and lazy alien on my hands!

I throw up my hands. Fuck! It took said lazy alien to finally shock me into what my situation is! I'm a kidnapping victim, people are looking for me, I'm now hours away from where I disappeared and I forgot all of that in the excitement!

In the heat of the moment, I kick Emeral's hard side. “Get the fuck up, Emeral! You're not getting hurt again on my watch!"

I kick her again, and again.

“GET! UP!"

The only response I get is a few slight shifts and a throbbing pain in my foot.

“Hrmph. No. I up, I eat Carey," she murmurs.

Oh, so it's threats now?!

“Get up, you lazy, sick, reeking pile of... of... whatever you're covered in! Scales and plates!"

Finally, she shifts. Rather than get up, she grabs ahold of my leg as I swing for another kick.

She turns her head to face me.

“No. I need eat. I down, no eat Carey."

What, is she starving or something?

My mind goes back to how she tried to take more of the strips of rabbit meat.

...Oh. She might be.

“Fuck," I exclaim. “Sorry, girl."

She releases my leg and lowers her head again to stare at my ankles. She just spent a few hours lightly jogging with me on her shoulders--no wonder she's tired. And apparently hungry.

I have an idea.

“Come on, Emeral. Food. You eat food. Let's go, we're almost there. You up, eat food. Not Carey. Let's go."

I haven't taught her most of that, but she does know 'food.' Upon each mention of the word she shifts a bit.

Slowly, laboriously, she finally rises again.

“Food?" she asks.

“Yes. Food. You down there," I say while pointing down the hill. “Let's go."

After a moment, she grunts. “Fine. Food good."

Finding somewhere to stash her just outside of town was the easy part. Getting her there, not so much.

Thankfully, I recognized the stretch of highway. We'd emerged many kilometers south of nearby Campbell River, the second-to-northernmost town of relevant size on the island. There are a few more towns along the highway between here and its end, but most are the size of Gold River.

Probably larger now actually, what with a quarter of the town being damaged.

It took us another half a day of walking to reach the outskirts of the commercial center, this time with me on my own two feet. Progress was slower but I chose not to burden her more than needed.

She's been agitated by all the cars, the noise, and proximity to people, but the promise of food got her up and it's kept her going. Finding a couple of quarters for a pay phone is one thing, bumming enough food to feed her is another problem entirely; she's gotta weigh at least half a ton. Still assuming that she's starving, I'm going to need to get something in her though. At least she's able to move--she was just being lazy. I'd send her off to find her own food, but... yeah, not happening around town.

“What this?" she asks, gesturing out from the secluded copse of trees I've stashed her in.

“It's a town, Emeral. Campbell River. This is Campbell River," I explain.

“Cammm-el Rrriver?" she slurs.

“No. Campbell River. It's a town," I correct her. She seems to have issues with a few letters, notably 'r,' 'd,' and anything with a 'puh' sound; 'please' almost sounds like 'blease' when she says it. She seems to have surprisingly able lips, so I'd bet it's due to inexperience with English and the fact that hers are quite a bit wider.

I continue. “You stay. You down, Emeral. Please?"

She grabs my shoulder with one of her massive claws as I turn to leave. “You no there. No."

I look at her over my shoulder. “Food, Emeral. Food. I have to."

She 'pouts' for lack of a better word. Her lips scrunch up and she glares at me.

“Food. Fine," she finally spits out.

She releases me and I'm on my way.

Finally, civilization. I just need to find money for a pay phone, get some food, and hope that she stays out of trouble.

After spending a couple of days out in the forest on the world's strangest camping trip, it feels foreign to be back among people as I walk into town. A few out walking glance at my disheveled hair and judge my unwashed smell, but... I'm back. I could just walk off right now, go home, and forget all of this happened.

But... I can't. I just can't.

Emeral needs me. She might die, or she might hurt somebody, or, or--

No. No worrying, Carey. You have a job, you do it.

There's a gas station up ahead and there should be a pay phone there. If I'm lucky, someone got lazy with their change.

The odd looks continue but most simply think I'm homeless most likely, although the B.C. Parks and Rec stuff on my clothing is a little conspicuous. Thankfully, when I press the coin return at the third pay phone I check--this one being outside a gas station--three quarters pop out. Someone must have had a longer conversation and forgotten to get their extra payment back.

The pay phone needs fifty cents and I've got seventy-five, so unless I can bum a quarter from someone I've only got one minute for one call. I only really need one call, but I still need to consider who I should actually dial.

My first instincts are my mother or Sam, but Goose doesn't know my boss' number and Sam... I honestly don't know how well Sam would do in a situation like this. Elijah would be good since he has my emergency contact information on-hand. In the end, I decide on good old reliable Frank since he knows everyone who I could call anyway, and he's definitely a lot more personally involved due to my radio call.

He's also my best friend, so... I'm a bit biased.

There's always the police as well, but I'd have to abandon Emeral. I need to get her back to Gold River discretely, and I can't do that with cops or--god forbid--my mother breathing down my neck. I'll have enough issues with that later.

I insert the two coins required and dial the number. While it rings I pocket the spare quarter. There's nothing that I could buy with it, so I guess I'll just end up giving it to Emeral. Maybe I can get her to help me with chores around the house and give it to her as payment?

The phone sits ringing. A clock I saw puts the time around dinnertime so I hope he's not busy and actually decides to pick up an unrecognized number.

Thankfully after a few seconds more, he does so.

“...Hello?"

“Hey, Frank! It's Carey, now, look, I know this is gonna be weird, but-"

As I speak I hear from the other end a quiet declaration.

“It's Carey," he says to people nearby, perhaps Mom and Sam.

Before I can explain he excitedly shouts and cuts me off. “Carey, holy shit! Where the hell are you?! I thought you were hurt, the police found your truck, and- and-, fuck, dude, just..."

He stops, and I can hear his breathing as he tries to calm his nerves.

“...Where are you? We can help you, just wait there!"

What I want to say is: 'I'm in Campbell River, I've got an alien, don't freak out please, now come and get us.'

What I actually say is: “I'll explain everything later, Frank. I'm sorry, but things are a bit complicated right now. I'll be back in town soon, I need you to tell everyone I'm okay. Alright?"

He's still worked up, and it's clear in both his voice and response.

“Woah, woah, Carey, what do you mean 'back in town soon?' Where are you, I can come and pick you up!"

Whether I like it or not he might freak out about Emeral and I don't have time to explain things to him, I've only got about half a minute left.

“I'm sorry Frank, seriously, I'll be back soon. I'm at a pay phone in Campbell River. Don't come pick me up, I'm fine-"

The moment I mentioned where I was, I could hear Frank lower the phone and start speaking to someone else. I can make out my mother's voice in the background as sounds of a scuffle ensue before he begins to speak again.

“Goose- just- ahk. I'm with your family, Carey. Goose just raced out the door to come pick you up, I- just stay there, alright? Just stay there. She looked kind of mad, but please just stay there."

“Frank- no, Frank I'm sorry, it's complicated, I'm fine, don't get her riled up please!"

Fuck, now I'm going to have to contend with my mother mad at me!

“Frank. Listen, I do not have time to explain, just trust me, please?"

The pay phone hangs up and the line goes dead. Damnit! Okay, it'll be a bit before anyone can get here--I just need to get food now. At least the search will be somewhat called off and my family knows I'm safe. Kind of. I rush inside to the store. The pay phone starts ringing again, but I ignore it; I said what I needed to say and I have other concerns.

All I've got for a very late lunch is the quarter, my word, and a giant hungry alien. I definitely need to add a bit of loose cash--including quarters--to my list of things to keep in my bag in case of emergencies like this.

“Welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order?"

My only option is going to have to be goodwill and the McDonalds franchise at this gas station.

The young man working the front is clearly bored and is only half-paying attention.

“Hello. Um. Can I speak to the manager? I got robbed and need help," I lie.

He perks up at what is technically the truth, and pays more attention to me, looking me up and down before turning around to follow my request. Moments later, another man appears.

He scowls. “I hear you got robbed? You can use our phone if you need to, but I'll have to supervise you."

Damn. Should have thought of that. No point doing it now though.

“No, no thanks, I'm fine, I already contacted someone with the pay phone. The problem is that- I've got a friend, and we haven't eaten in a while, so..." I trail off sheepishly.

He sighs. “So, you're asking for hand-outs. Got it. One moment."

He disappears into the back and returns with a large paper bag. “Here. You don't have to lie you know, we give our unsold food to the homeless anyway," he states.

He clearly doesn't believe me, but that doesn't matter. Food acquired.

“Thank you, thank you sir."

I accept the bag and... well, scuttle out. This has got to be one of the most embarrassing moments of my life but you do what you have to. I file away the idea to pay it forward to the local actual homeless later by donating to the food bank.

As I round the corner and power-walk back to where I stashed Emeral, I open the bag. The smell of old burgers and stale fast food fries wafts out. None of it is the healthiest, but... food is food, as Emeral said. Food is food.

When I push aside a bush and enter the copse, I find Emeral splayed out, not dissimilar from the first time I met her. This time she rouses immediately when she notices the scent of the food and immediately starts snuffling in my direction.

Once she locks eyes with the bag--her expression one of confusion--I reach in and retrieve a burger, which I unwrap. It's a mostly simple cheeseburger, with just ketchup, cheese, and pickles on it. Hopefully she can process dairy products. I bring it to my own mouth and take a bite, cringing a bit at the cold meat, but it should get the point across. I offer it to her and she greedily swipes it from my hand before tossing it back into her mouth, not even bothering to taste it.

She glares at me. “Food? Freezing food. Bleh."

“I'm sorry, Emeral. It's all I have. I have more."

I hold out the bag to her, and she reluctantly takes it. She sits up and peels the sides apart to reveal the food within. She daintily holds the bag with two pressed claws and reaches in with her other 'hand,' retrieving a slightly moist and very sad fry. This isn't a very good introduction to human food... I'll have to make her something when I get home. Regardless, she puts it in her mouth, summarily cringes at the taste, and swallows anyway.

She makes a face. “Not bad. Not good. Food is food. Ehk," she says before moving to upturn the whole bag above her head.

“No, wait, Emeral, the wrappers-!"

She dumps the rest of the bag into her mouth and swallows it down napkins, wrappers, and cardboard boxes of fries included, barely bothering to taste. Well... I suppose it's mostly all paper, so it shouldn't really matter... she really was hungry. I don't know what the burger wrappers are made of but I'm fairly sure it's paper... maybe wax paper. She finishes her meal with a rather excessive drink from a small stream running through the woods to water the salted food down.

With the food and family situations sorted I urge Emeral on again, this time away from Campbell River, back the rough direction we came.

A few hours later, we were just about out of the clearcutting operations between Strathcona Provincial Park and Campbell River when Emeral suddenly stopped.

Glorp. Rmble. Glep.

“Ohhh..." Emeral whines.

Her belly's been increasingly making noises over the past hour. Either it's normal as her body processes the food or she's lactose intolerant after all. Either way...

“Blegh!"

She vomits everything back up, and continues to dry-heave for a while.

“Aw, damnit, Emeral! I had to beg to get that!"

I avert my gaze as she does it. I really don't need to see this. At least we're out in the wilderness again pretty much; hopefully she can find some food for herself.

We get moving again quickly, though she's clearly not happy and every once in a while she stops to dry-heave more. Clearly something with the food did not agree with her... perhaps the cheese? I've never heard of lactose intolerance this bad before--something might be wrong with her.

Wait. Fuck, right.

“C'mere, girl!" I call to her. She meanders over, still dry-heaving a little but the nausea mostly subsides.

Acting on a hunch, I put my hand on her side and feel at her plates. They're rough, but overall pretty intact. However, where two meet on her haunch, there's a slightly rougher part, almost like a nick into the plate. As gently as I can I pull it away a little bit and feel underneath with my fingers.

The skin below is strangely normal: it's just skin, almost like that of a hairless cat. It's grey, and as I try to peer underneath... I find a red, scabbed over spot. Emeral shies away a little and hisses when I feel at the swollen site.

I never did check her wound. With the lack of active bleeding and her presumably having scrubbed herself of it while I slept, it slipped my mind. I'm... agh, I keep forgetting things. Important things. My mind feels all over the place ever since... this all began. I was just checking her a few hours ago, too!

I've been so distracted lately, and even before meeting Emeral! First I forgot my radio, then I got swept up in the excitement and forgot about Emeral essentially kidnapping me, then... other things happened that I would like to forget about, and now even Emeral is slipping my mind.

I can't wait to get home and get some actual rest.

The wound itself is healing absolutely fine, with very little evidence that it even happened despite coming from a hunting rifle and being like, half a day old. There is no evidence of infection despite her wholly alien biology, which is a good sign. However, my prior thought is proven correct as I line up her actions: the fatigue, her near-constant water drinking, the vomiting... she absolutely does have a gut wound. I've heard about this before in a first-aid class I took for certification: 'secondary peritonitis.'

The bullet is presumably somewhere within her abdomen, having torn through her intestinal tract. If we're lucky it'll pass on its own, but if we're not, she'll die to recurring internal bleeding as it scars within. Judging by the insanely fast healing process she'll probably be fine when it comes to said internal bleeding--assuming that the hematomas don't get too bad--but things are going to suck for her for a while.

However... the biggest problem is actually going to be infection. I don't know how long she's been around, and I don't think she's had issues so far with eating and drinking stuff here, but a bullet that could have all sorts of stuff on it? Right in one of the most toxic parts of any body? Where the hell am I going to get antibiotics in the middle of a forest?! They might not even work on her! That the wound site wasn't infected is still a good sign, but there's no way to tell what's going on inside.

I urge her onward. There's little point in turning around now, and I can't help her with what resources I have.

If I actually had just walked off...

Fuck. I really am getting attached. I guess I always have been a sucker for cute animals.

Before long the sound of rushing water echoes through the trees, which is a damn good sound to hear considering where it means we are. I'm not all that experienced with hiking through the rainforests this far north but I do know my home's geography. I stop Emeral and go on ahead to see if anyone's in sight, and thankfully I can't see anyone around.

Stretching across the valley is the Strathcona Dam; a rocky berm holding back the seasonal rainwater and forming a water reservoir. It's not the most glamorous earthwork in the world and I'm not sure if it's even hydroelectric, but it's still quite a sight to behold.

I retrieve Emeral and we begin crossing. Counting the hike to Campbell River, this marks the halfway point home. She eyes the lake warily for some reason, perhaps due to a fear of water, and begins to stray to investigate the various machines controlling the sluice gates.

“Emeral. No, here! Come!" I call her. I quickly glance around to make sure we're still alone; hopefully anyone hearing me thinks I'm just walking my dog, which... isn't far from the truth if I'm being honest.

She stops and turns her neck back to look at me, wearing the same expression as when I'd shoved her head from my truck. Hopefully she doesn't start making trouble again like last time, but I'd best make sure that she's kept focused.

“Food, Emeral! This way!" I remind her. The less-populated northern side of the river should have lots of food for her, the problem is just getting her there. She comes trotting over and retakes her position by my side, clearly eager to resolve her hunger issues. We clear the dam, pass beneath the gargantuan powerlines connecting Gold River to the electrical network, and head for the hills and old logging operations above the lakes. Her eyes are wide the entire time in marvel, as if she's never seen anything like it before, which may be precisely the case. She acts so smart and clever at times and yet so naive and innocent at others.

As we continue travelling I teach her the occasional word here and there when I can. It's a bit like building a tower of sorts--like a figurative reconstruction of the Tower of Babel--where I need to use what she already knows and help her make inferences, building upon her knowledge. Progress is slow due to the risk of misunderstanding--and the fact that I can't exactly ensure that she does know what a word means, yet--but proper communication is inevitable.

She disappears at one point and, trusting in her obvious ability to find me, I leave her to her own devices. Less people and more animals means fewer dangers for her.

Finally, after reaching the mountains, we make camp for the night. I build another Dakota campfire, prepare myself a meal of rabbit, berries, and edible mushrooms, and tuck in by the warmth of the fire against Emeral's side.

A/N:

Note: no actual humping involved in this chapter. Just yet another multifaceted pun I couldn't resist. My chapter names are getting better and better as time goes on.

As mentioned before, Carey is a bit scatterbrained when she has a lot on the mind. She doesn't handle stress well, and she's really not in a very good situation: kidnapped, feeling stockholm syndrome to some degree, witness to a very gruesome killing after someone attacked her new friend, and now her new friend is hurt and sick.

Anecdote time. When I was a little kid, I thought the town was named 'Camel River,' and as my family drove through I said that I didn't see any camels. My family thought I was making a joke, but I was serious. I don't know how true this is for others' childhoods, but camels were just kind of A Thing in childrens' media when in reality they aren't nearly as common in the west as we'd been implicitly led to believe.

Anyway, childhood anecdotes aside, this is an erotica. There may or may not be humping later, but since it's an erotica it's not going to be twenty pages of purple prose in one single sex scene. I'm not that kind of writer, and as a wise smut writer once said: “There's only so many ways you can write 'he stuck his penis in her vagina,' before it gets stale."

Or something like that.

Plot over porn.
