A confusing timeline (Patreon reward for Kodi)

Hazel is very excited to talk to Kodi about the new hypnotist he's found. It's always great to share your interests with your friends.
A Patreon reward I wrote for BluKodi (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/blukodi)! You can read it here.
"So who's this guy I keep hearing about?"
Hazel smiled and slurped up the remnants of his milkshake. It was weird talking about his usually-intimate interests with Kodi - well, or with anyone that didn't share them for that matter - but even if he still hadn't got completely used to it, he enjoyed doing it from time to time.
When he had told Kodi he enjoyed hypnosis as a kink his friend hadn't been judgemental at all. In fact, the black wolf had almost seemed a bit too interested in the topic. Hazel assumed it was the same kind of interest a friend displays when one says he's finally found a romantic partner.
"Well, someone I met a few weeks ago," the dragon replied. "We found each other in one of these apps and well, turns out he enjoys hypnotizing people and I love getting hypnotized, so you can figure out the rest."
"Good for you! I'm glad you found someone to do that with." Kodi took a sip from his own milkshake. His joy seemed completely genuine. "That way you won't have to pester me about how good it is. You can finally talk with someone who likes it as much as you."
"Heh, I'm sorry if it was too much at some point."
"Nah, I was kidding. I enjoyed being there for you. Just make sure you have fun with this guy," the black wolf asked, winking an eye at Hazel. The dragon chuckled.
"Well, we'll see how it goes. We only had two sessions so far. Today's our third."
"Oh, going to meet him now?"
Hazel nodded.
"Yeah, he texted me earlier and said we could meet in his place for another session."
"Is he any good?"
"The guy knows what he's doing if that's what you're asking," Hazel answered, chuckling.
A few minutes later, walking to his friend's place, the dragon kept thinking that he'd been extremely lucky to find someone to take his kinky interests into practice with and a friend he could talk to at the same time.
In the past, he'd kept those desires to himself. Although things were changing nowadays and people were generally more open to this stuff, telling someone that he enjoyed having his brain thoroughly washed had always fallen under the category of "really weird conversation". Hazel had mostly kept that conversation to internet chats and, even then, those had been fairly scarce. He was only opening up about it now.
The fact that Kodi had been there for him whenever he had needed to talk about it was awesome. Maybe he could invite him over to his hypnotist's place sometime. The wolf had been curious about the way hypnosis worked on the past, so maybe he'd find an actual demonstration rather explicative.
Hazel rang the doorbell and pushed the building's door open. His new friend's place was on the first floor, so he ignored the lift and went upstairs until he was there. Then, as he stood in front of the door, the weirdest thought occurred to him.
What was the name of this hypnotist?
He knew he'd heard it - damn, he'd called his name several times by now, and Hazel didn't feel like it was a particularly difficult one - but he couldn't remember it. He racked his brain trying to figure out what it was, looking for a memory in which he'd seen it. A business card, an internet nick, whatever. It didn't appear on his mind.
That wasn't the only thing bugging him, however. What did his mysterious hypnotist look like? As hard as he tried, he couldn't picture him clearly.
Hazel switched his weight from one leg to another, feeling slightly uneasy. Well, he's a hypnotist after all, he thought, his cheeks blushing with the idea. That's what they do. They make you forget.
The door opened just then, startling Hazel. As soon as the body of his hypnotist was visible, the dragon's eyes moved up and down trying to reconstruct those missing memories, trying to make sure this time he wouldn't forget. However, shock made him stop in the middle of this process.
He knew the name of his hypnotist. He'd known all along.
"K... Kodi?" he stammered, confused.
The black wolf gave him a wide grin. He was still holding his half-empty milkshake cup.
"That's right. Do you remember now, buddy?"
Hazel did.
Wait, no. He didn't.
What?
"You... you can't... that's not..." he began. Words felt difficult in his mouth.
There was no way Kodi was his hypnotist. The black wolf was his friend! He'd been his friend for a few years now, how could he be the hypnotist that had zonked him twice for the past few weeks? Had it been twice? Most importantly, had it only been a few weeks?
Yes, he thought. It has to. The memory of telling Kodi, his friend, about how much he enjoyed hypnosis only three or four weeks ago, at most, was clear as day in his mind. Had he made him forget that he'd already been under by then? But they'd known each other for so long!
No. Hazel could feel his head spinning. That doesn't make sense. He remembered entering Kodi the hypnotist's office for the first time, thinking the black wolf was fairly handsome, blushing as he told him about hypnosis and about what they were going to do... The memory of beginning those sessions was as clear as the other in his mind.
How could that be? How could those conflicting memories coexist? Had Kodi always been his friend? Had Hazel known him as a hypnotist? Had it been two sessions or four, or eight, or sixteen, or thirty-two? Was he hypnotized right...
His train of thought got suddenly interrupted by the wolf raising his free paw in the air. Hazel watched the movement in slow motion, still utterly confused, but knowing perfectly well what would come afterwards.
Snap.
