Paws of Fire: Tiger in Town - Chapter 3
#12 of Paws of Fire: Tiger in Town
I made the third chapter to make up for the slowness in chapter 2. Still, the last chapter was important to the overall plot D:
Enjoy!
Chapter 3: The Corruption
How horrible the sick reminder of the ancient evils that once wrought this world with its wretched plague is. The return of the desolate wasteland had returned after six or seven years. The once bright and blinding sunlight that blazed glory through the grasslands and gave life to the tall trees that had just taken their place back in the world after the first desolation was now but a slowly fleeting memory. Black clouds covered the skies, shielding the world from the heat and light the blessed star once shined upon this land. The heat had been replaced with an even hotter atmosphere provided by a new source...a darker one.
The once delicious fruits and vegetables that most of the furs once feasted on became bitter with the taste of blood. Furs had to force themselves through the horrid taste of fallen ones to get their nutrition. The wild animals that the carnivorous furs used to satiate their own hungers were doomed to die out. These uncivilized beasts know nothing of nutrition, and the taste of blood will deter most of them from partaking in their typical consumption.
The once green mountains that wore a halo of innocents in the form of clouds before were now giants that struck fear into all who looked at the hollow eyes of horror that stared them down. The trees that once covered this horror were gone, and the ground that showed to the world now would frighten the strongest of warriors.
The grass was well on its way to withering out. The vast pastures of green delight were fading rapidly as the desolate terrain crept around the world, seeping the ground dry of soil and nutrition. The once soft ground became hard and rocky to the touch, and some furs were not used to the sensation in their feet.
Perhaps the most horrible of the new atrocities that corrupted this once peaceful world was the emergence of the undead in masses. The disfigured walkers of the lives lost to this rebirth of evil roamed the desolate plains in search of survivors to slaughter. They needed not consume for sustenance, as the undead were nothing more than shells that were designed to kill.
The trappers had returned with all of their previous cruelty. The cunning alligators roamed the world with the undead, helping when they found cities with a formidable defense against the simple undead. These trappers knew about war strategy, and used their cunning to outsmart their opponents and overwhelm them in numbers once their defenses were down. These sickening creatures would make the death of their victims as brutal as possible. Some were not even put to death, but rather forced to live on for sickening purposes until their body broke under starvation or stress.
The greatest horrors among the undead were those giant, bulky, repulsive abominations that shook the earth as they walked. These beasts had hooves the size of a large bull. Their bodies were covered in a hide that put any armor constructed by the hands of Hephaistos to shame. They walked on four legs...four giant legs as thick as their feet and as tall as eight bulls standing on each others' shoulders. Their faces were identical to the triceratops head except for what was inside the mouths. These foul creatures secreted a putrid slime from their mouths as they grinned with their razor sharp teeth. They fed on the undead, and the rotting flesh of rotting flesh made their breath one of their most deadly weapons. Their roar alone was enough to burst the eardrums of any unfortunate fur to every lay eyes on these horrible creatures. They were known as...the behemoths.
The neighboring city of Bai'ji, Helgei, had been abandoned of all defenses after reports of city after city being taken over had reached them. Every army retreated to the one city that they knew they would be safe in...Bai'ji. Helgei's simple townsfolk remained behind, most of the males taking up whatever sort of weapon they could get their paws on to fight the oncoming hoard. The number of undead far outmatched the numbers of furs willing to fight. The trappers made sure to slaughter all those who fought back at the undead, taking those strong males down with ease. The repulsive smell of those ghastly walkers ravished the noses of every fur in the town, giving them their chance to take over. The males were slaughtered. The females and cubs were bound to buildings with rope. As the town was cleared of the males, the undead marched on to their next target of Bai'ji. The trappers stayed behind, selecting the cubs and the females that they would send back to their master. Some of the trappers would strip the furs right there on the spot and have their sick ways with them. All of the chosen ones were hauled onto the back of a tamed behemoth that would bring them to the red dragon that ran the whole show. The trappers always laughed as all of the furs around them vomited everything they had out as the smell of the putrid behemoth raped their noses. Once the behemoth had made its way to Drayak, the town was set on fire. All the unchosen furs were doomed to death by burning...but such death would be far sweeter than what the chosen ones were in store for.
Bai'ji was surrounded by a roaring flame, the fire that Shah himself had created to keep the undead and their stench from reaching the walls of their final city standing. Not even the mighty behemoths could walk through the scorching flames without being instantly turned to ashes. The undead would wait for as long as they had to, keeping the furs in one spot. The city was crowded beyond sitting room, a foul stench forming from inside as furs had to take their business nowhere but where they stood. Nobody can move...it is a nightmare. The last of the remaining heroes needed to find a way to kill Drayak themselves, and Shah prayed that Uraku and Daniel would one day return to free the furs from this torture they were in. Nick and Aveyi had left the city in search of the missing king, Jalhamut. The king was their best tactician, and they needed him to find a way to kill this returned threat.
Upon the icy platform provided by Aveyi, the two wolves roamed over the desolate world in search of their beloved king. The memories of traversing this horrible looking world long ago brought remorse to both of their eyes. The nightmare has returned...and Nick didn't have the weapons to stop the beast like he did before. This was the end...unless they could find the cheetah that provided their only hope.

Jalhamut was wandering the landscape aimlessly after fleeing from his friends in shame. The undead he came across fell easily to his claws, as did the trappers that tried to fool him into submission. The wise king trudged onward into the same direction, hoping some sort of revelation will come upon him through his journey. He wept almost hourly as he imagined the horrors that his people were forced to go through. He heard stories of what Drayak had done in the past...and he would definitely be doing those deeds again. Jalhamut felt helpless now. He was but one king...and he needed help.
He came across many burnt down cities, trudging through the ruins in hopes of finding someone still alive...someone he can save. What tragedy would it be if he walked the world aimlessly only to achieve nothing. Each city, however, proved to be completely wiped out. No trace of any furs existed...or if they did, they were in the form of ashes that blended perfectly with the buildings' ashes.
He was wandering for almost fifteen hours nonstop. He started feeling more and more exhausted as time went by. He wanted to fall onto the ground and give his life up. Their world was finished...
"Let me go!" Jalhamut's ears perked up as he heard a sign of life...and it wasn't the voice of a trapper. He looked to his left and saw the source of noise. A gray wolf was being gagged by a trapper with a ball and strap found in the ruins of the town they just destroyed. There were two other trappers there. One tied his arms around a table that they brought, and the other bound the wolf's legs to the table's legs. They were laughing as the slim wolf struggled for freedom. He was naked, probably stripped clean of his clothing for a nasty rape. Jalhamut hid behind a nearby dead tree, peeking around to see what they were up to. They weren't showing any signs of interest in the male, as none of the trappers did. Trappers were straight, and heavily homophobic. That didn't matter though...either way they were murderous fucks that needed to die.
"Bring 'im in! This ought to be fun!" The trappers had finished binding their prey to the table, the wolf barely moving as he strained to get free. The binds were strong...too strong.
Nothing happened for a few seconds, the three trappers turning their backs to Jalhamut and watching just to the side of the trapped wolf. Then the earth trembled violently. His heart sunk into a sea of fear as he heard the rampaging rush of a behemoth rushing his way. He froze, seeing the ghastly creature making a dash at the wolf. It stopped just behind the bound fur that seemed to be presenting itself. The behemoth showed a dirty little grin, the putrid smell of the slime inside of its mouth dripping over the poor wolf's fur. The wolf was gagging wildly, and Jalhamut knew he was throwing his guts up from the smell that he couldn't hold his nose from. He pitied the wolf...and looked on in horror as he saw what the plan was. The behemoth was aroused...greatly. The massive tree of a cock almost touched the ground while it was standing. The abomination walked slowly over the bound wolf, crouching down a bit as it got into position.
Jalhamut couldn't take it anymore. He had to help...it didn't matter what power this beast held. He wiped some dung just under his nose, the foul smell not pleasing him one bit, but it would keep him from smelling the other option that made others vomit. He then brought out his natural claws, the only weapon available to him now. He had no armor and no clothing...he lost those a few hours ago in a nasty standoff he was stuck in. The cheetah rushed out with great stealth and attacked at the observing trappers. He slit all of their throats before any of them had a chance to react. The blow was so accurate that none would have survived. This was the deciding moment now. The behemoth was ready to enter and crush the wolf from the inside. He dashed at the monster, roaring out loudly to let the cowering wolf he was there. He ran up to that large cock and wiped at the base with all of his might and precision. The thick rod sheared completely off, the behemoth kicking around after it was taken aback into the distance. It roared in an earsplitting pain as it writhed around.
Jalhamut quickly severed the ropes from the wolf that looked back at Jalhamut, tears of fear mixed with unimaginable thanks. He removed the gag quickly and pushed in on the wolf's stomach gently. "Are you okay down here now?" The wolf then wretched violently and threw up everything he ate earlier. The retching wouldn't cease either. The wolf was covered in filth...he had to get him cleaned up of the putrid slime so he could breathe again. "Hold on to me tightly! We're out of here!" Jalhamut got onto all fours, the wolf nodding as he limped onto the cheetahs back and wrapped his arms around his slim body. Jalhamut cringed at the feel of the slime getting on his fur, but he had to do this...he had to save at least one life. He made a mad dash away from the slowly recovering behemoth. The putrid smell seemed to never touch the wolf's nose as they sped off, giving him a chance to recuperate his breath.
"Th...thank you..." The wolf hugged the cheetah tighter, Jalhamut's heart fluttering at the affection and thanks. He couldn't stop to share in the embrace yet though...he knew they'd be on the run from the beast in just a moment.

They fled for about ten minutes, and there were no signs of the behemoth chasing them. Perhaps he actually lost it? The cheetah felt so light now. He had just secured someone's life...he was a hero again. The feeling of saving another's life was by far the greatest feeling one could ask for. He knew he wasn't done yet though. He needed to get to water and wash off the filthy fur they shared. He could sense water not far to his right, turning to rush to the source.
Of all the things that were tainted in this world, there was one thing that could never be touched. The fresh waters that came from that grand waterfall near Helgei were just as vital to Drayak as they were to the common furs. Both Jalhamut and the wolf on his back gasped with excitement as they saw their escape from the filth that was tainting their beauty. The cheetah dashed straight into the slow river of fresh water, the splash made reminding him of the good times when he used to play with his friends in the water. The two furs separated and got to work on cleansing themselves vigorously.
They scrubbed and scrubbed at their furs for about five minutes, the green putrid spunk that matted their furs down floating away in the water to dissolve into nothingness. They were cleansed now, and they were safe from danger. Jalhamut sighed before he dunked his head under the water, the elixir of life rejuvenating his vigor now and giving him energy to stay awake for a while longer. He emerged again and turned to look at the gray wolf. The canine swam right up next to Jalhamut, almost pressing their chests together. The cheetah couldn't help but turn red at the closeness. His instincts wanted him to do something, but he fought them back. The poor wolf was almost raped...it wasn't the right time to try anything.
"Sir...thank you so much...I owe you everything." The wolf sounded so relieved. He also seemed dazzled, the muzzle and his eyes going up and down the length of the cheetahs body. Most of it was distorted under the water though. The wolf blushed brightly as he wrapped his arms around Jalhamut. "Please...tell me the name of the one who risked everything to save me..."
Jalhamut's heart fluttered at the tone of voice...and the beauty the voice rang with. The canine's ear was pressed heavily against the cheetah's heart. The quickening beating would easily alert the canine to his excitement. He didn't want the pup to think he was only after one thing though. "My name is...Jalhamut." The wolf nodded, giggling some as he pressed his whole body up against the stronger cheetah. "My name is Zephyr...and I owe you a favor." The wolf started getting amorous with the cheetah.
Jalhamut shook his head lightly and gently pushed away on the wolf. The way the wolf was rubbing his groin up against his felt nice physically...but the time just wasn't right. "Look...I just did what anybody else would have done. Don't feel that you have to do something for me." The wolf looked disappointed now, which really put the guilt on Jalhamut. "Then again...how about this?"
"Perhaps we can travel together. I'm looking for the solution to this little undead problem we're having now. I don't want to be alone on my travels...and a companion would easily solve that issue." The cheetah pulled the wolf close again, stroking his back to entice a little rurr from the young wolf. He nodded with a smile, bright blue eyes shutting as he basked at the touch.
The wolf grinned up at Jalhamut bashfully, shimmying a bit as he spoke. "Perhaps you'll let me give you a little show of appreciation? Nothing too serious...I think." The cheetah snickered some, thinking it was cute that the young wolf was wanting him so much. The things survivors will do for those who save them...
The wolf jumped up and wrapped his arms around the cheetah's neck and the force pinned him against the banks of the river. He pinned the cheetah down under his own weight and gently massaged the back of Jalhamut's neck. The cheetah couldn't help but smile as their lips drew so close. Jalhamut reached behind Zephyr's ears and scratched at them as their eyes slowly closed, and their lips touched. The kiss was gentle and passionate, tongues only prodding shyly into each other before a quick drawback. They were both being so cautious, as if they were worried they'd scare the other off. The shared in that sweet kiss for a short time before they slowly parted, eyes gazing into each other longingly. The wolf was still blushing wildly, as was the cheetah. "Well...I'd say that's a good repayment..." The cheetah winked, the wolf giggling as he buried his head into the cheetah's chest. They knew they'd become close friends already.
Their sweet embrace and relaxation were cut short at the sound of a ferocious roar behind them. They felt no tremors because of the constant beating of the water against their fur and flesh to create a constant vibration already. They were too lost in their own little world to think of the dangers around them. And there it was...the behemoth with its severed junk glaring down at the two furs with blood red eyes. They froze and stared back at it. It was too close now...they couldn't run. The giant beast raised up its front hoof high, the two furs burying their heads into the other's shoulders as they were about to be crushed.
Book ends

Daniel read on in horror for about ten minutes. Uraku's world was already coming to an end. Can he honestly wait an entire two months before returning to their world? Would it even be worth returning to by then? And what would happen to Jalhamut and Zephyr? When he reads again tomorrow, will they be dead?
It was like reading from a fictional novel...but it was a second reality.
He closed the book, sighing as he went over the details in his head. He pitied the ones he left behind, and prayed for their safety during his and Uraku's absence.
He needed to force himself to make a vow now. If his world would be saved by Uraku, then he had an obligation to save theirs. It didn't matter what kind of hardship he'd face.
"Jalhamut, Nick, Aveyi, Shah, everyone inside the story. I vow to return to you all and save you from this corruption with haste. We'll solve the troubles in my world at once, and the very second the danger is over in my world...we're coming back. This I swear." Daniel felt a sense of accomplishment wash over him. He was doing the right thing now...even though he had an evil side. He had bound himself to the duty prescribed by Shah, and the justice of the matter made him feel proud.
"I'll save you all...no matter the cost."
Daniel's head perked up when he started hearing several gunshots firing. It was so sudden, and he had no idea what was going on at first. The men were screaming at the top of their lungs, some in fear, some in pain. Something was assaulting the police guarding the prison. Daniel ran up to the bars and grasped onto the metal firmly, looking left and right inside the long hallway. He had a feeling he knew who was doing this now.
"Uraku..."
