I'm glad to finally be revisiting these two characters. When I first wrote the original story, I only had a general idea of how the story would play out. I've always tried to do something different in my stories. I liked the idea of having a relationship based around the whole predator/prey dynamic.
Ironically, I ended up having Kria be a spider... I say 'ironic' because I'm actually a little scared of spiders in real life. Despite that, I still find her to be a pretty sexy character. Kria could easily kill Steve if she wanted to, but it's her feelings for him that allow her to consciously chose not to. As for Steve, well he's just your average white-collar worker, a nice guy who lacks confidence.

Revised 11/13/2014 : I'm planning on posting a new chapter, since it would be a shame to leave this unfinished. In the mean time, I've gone back and fixed a few problems that I came across while rereading these, mostly missing words and grammar issues. So hopefully now, this story should flow a little better now.

Part 1: "Contentment"
When one thinks of a spider, a number of unflattering notions tend to come to mind. After all, the idea of a dangerous venom-filled arachnid skulking in the shadows and preying on unsuspecting victims isn't the most comforting image. A multi-limbed creature capable of injecting lethal poison into its victim by sinking sharp fangs into them is not exactly a welcoming idea.
With all that in mind, one would think that anyone with any degree of common sense would just simply avoid them all together. Certainly, it would be safer- not to mention, just plain sensible. However, common sense and love tend to be very different things. The romantics argue that love blinds us. And it can certainly be said that when love is involved, people tend to view things differently. However, it's also believe that love can open our eyes to a brighter and more vivid world.
Certainly, for two particular individuals, this was very much the case. Before these two people met each other, they were very different. Kria, a spider, had become cynical and believed that she wasn't capable of being anything more than what society perceived her to be. Steve, a fox, was a timid white-collar worker with little confidence and unfulfilled desires...
And yet, here the two of them were- the spider and fox, nestled together in bed. Kria smiled as she held the slender fox in her arms. It made her happy to think that he felt so safe with her. More then that, he trusted her. She could feel it- when they touched, kissed, and even when they made love. She wanted to be there for him and support him. She had the ability to bring him up when he was down, to remind him that he was worth something... This was a role she took on willingly (and gladly) without question.
There was no denying it... Kria was in love with Steve. Even though she had nothing to compare it to, she still knew that the devotion and untainted affection between them transcended simple lust or physical desire... She cherished Steve and savored every moment they they were together. No matter what happened, she knew that as long as she had Steve- that was all she really needed.
She watched as the fox slowly opened his brilliant eyes and looked up at her- their eyes met in that moment and everything seemed perfect as they connected. "Do you ever miss it, Kria...?" He began, smiling up at her. "Do you ever miss your old life?" He added, his blue eyes peering up at her as she cradled his form in her arms.
She smiled and ruffled his disheveled hair with her upper-most hands. As a spider, Kria's eyes were perfectly adapted to see the fox in the darkened room. The long wavy locks of messy red/pink hair hung down around her eyes as she looked down at him. "No, not really... Though why do you ask?" She replied curiously, her sharp teeth visible as spoke.
Kria truly was the center of his world- she made him stronger, gave him confidence and a desire to be a better person. When he looked at the woman laying beside him, he saw the creature that he was passionately in love with... In short, he adored her. And after everything she'd given him, he wanted to take care of her in some way, to give her something back. "Well, it's just that I asked a lot you... And, I can see how things might be strange for you- I just want to be sure that you're happy."
The fan hummed faintly while it circulated above their bed. The curtains were drawn over the window and the late evening sun was quickly setting outside. It was dark in the bedroom, yet somehow, they could still see each others eyes perfectly... Steve's light blue eyes reminded her of the sky, bright and full of wonder. While when Steve looked into Kria's eyes, he was reminded of precious red jewels, such as garnets, shining with a deep crimson radiance.
The spider shook her head and smiled. "As long as I have you in my life... I couldn't ask for anything more than that." Steve started to sit up, but Kria gently pushed him down onto his back with her upper set of arms. She shifted so that she was hovering over him for a moment, her eyes narrowing as she slid her hands up and down along the contours of his furry body.
She reached for the hem of his boxers and lingered for a moment. Flashing a seductive smile, she gripped gripped the waistband firmly and slid them down- exposing his semi-erect member. She wrapped her right upper-most hand around his shaft and began gently stroking it in a slow, deliberate rhythm motion.
