Showing Off
Another idea from the aether, or at least not from any inspiration I can specifically remember. Hardly unusual, a lot of my ideas come from nowhere!

It was not terribly unusual to see a Pokémon in a hospital. Not as a patient - that was exclusively reserved for the Pokémon Centers which were uniquely equipped to handle the kinds of maladies a Pokémon could experience - but as a visitor for a human who had gotten into some kind of trouble. In some cases, particularly that of traveling trainers, they were the only ones within a reasonable distance who could be there to support their trainers during a trying time of illness or recovery. So their presence was far from a rare occurrence.
That didn’t, however, mean everyone was always used to it. And Balger could definitely feel the eyes on him as he walked up to the desk, a tall and somewhat stacked Blaziken who looked like he might have been able to lift half the room without breaking a sweat. The attendant at the desk was definitely focused on him as he approached, perhaps concerned about whether he might make a scene; sometimes Pokémon who were stressed out weren’t the best-behaved individuals. Balger didn’t blame her for her apprehension, he got looks like that more often than he could remember…such was the nature of being a Blaziken built more like an Incineroar. Which, at is happened, described his parentage perfectly.
“I’m here looking for a…James Colburn. Might be under Jim or Jimmy.” His voice was even and patient, intended to try to put the attendant at ease. It seemed to work at least somewhat, her features relaxed hearing the levelness in his tone. Showing he was controlled, not close to a nervous breakdown and unpredictable behavior. One would think they would trust the control of a Fighting-type, but Balger sometimes wondered if he had an aura like his father did…he wasn’t a Dark-type, but there was a touch of that in his bloodline, maybe they sensed that in him.
It didn’t take too long for the attendant to find the details on her computer, but she had to ring the room before she could give Balger the answer he was looking for. Her voice was quiet, and Balger made an effort not to try to eavesdrop until she was done. “All right, it looks like he’s awake and able to take visitors. Do you, uh, want someone to escort you, or…”
“I’ll be fine on my own, but thank you. Just need to know where to go.”
“Down the hallway there to the end, take a right, he’s the fourth door on the right in there.”
“Thank you.” And so off Balger went, trying not to look too conspicuous as he did. Fortunately, in the hospital hallways there were fewer visitors and waiting patients and more actively-working doctors and nurses, who were generally preoccupied enough that they didn’t really focus on him very much. Which he was glad for, the last thing Balger wanted to be was a disruption…when it wasn’t called for, anyway. If he needed to, he absolutely could throw his weight around, and did so in the name of protecting his human.
Unfortunately, it seemed that Jimmy might have needed more protection from himself this time, if what he’d heard was correct…
Carefully counting so he didn’t end up startling some poor stranger, he found the room he was looking for. The door was open already, and he could see his trainer laying on the bed, looking plenty the worse for wear. His left arm was wrapped up tight and splinted, his right hand was patched up along the side and palm, his head was bandaged, and he had a look of being under some fairly effective painkillers. Still, Jimmy gave Balger a weary grin as the Blaziken entered. “Eyyy…thought I was gonna be lonely all day long.”
“Like I wasn’t going to come by when I heard you’d had an accident.” Balger sat on a chair next to the bed, leaning over Jimmy with an expression of concern. “How’re you feeling?”
“Like crap, mostly. Mainly my head…doc says I conked it pretty good. Uh, grade 3 concussion, I think they said. Was out for a bit, even though I had the helmet on. And I jacked up my arm, too, broke both bones…he said at least it wasn’t a super bad break, but they’ll have to cast it for sure.”
“Jeez. Well, at least it’s not your dominant arm. What happened? Or do you even remember?”
“I sorta do…well, you know I went to the skate park, right?”
Balger raised an eye ridge. “You said you were just going to the café.”
“Oh, yeah. Well, I thought you probably already knew that wasn’t what I was really doing…just sayin’ it so you wouldn’t come with me, I know how you get about watching me like a hawk when I’m out there.”
“Yeah, for good reason.” Balger hadn’t known, but as he thought about it, he realized he probably should have questioned why Jimmy was so insistent on using his skateboard to go to the café. “You know I want to be there in case something like this happens.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. But you kinda…get all nervous whenever I’m doing anything more risky out there, and it makes it hard to practice any of that. It’s easier when you’re not out there fretting all the time.”
Balger couldn’t deny that - as far as he was concerned, the whole skateboarding thing seemed like it was nuts. Especially for a fairly fragile human, but he couldn’t see himself doing it either. “Well, thinking like that ended you up here, so…maybe I was the right one this time.”
“Jeez. It’s not that bad. I’m hurt, yeah, but I’ll recover. But I think I fucked up a bit…there were these girls there and I was showing off some tricks I’d been doing, and…I was actually doing pretty well, I think I hit a couple cleaner than any other time. And they were into it, I could see it. Was feeling pretty good…and then…mph. It kinda gets fuzzy, but…I was trying to do a rail slide, I think. I’m not sure what happened, but I wanted to cover the whole rail backwards, I think…”
“Wait. You didn’t use one of the walker’s rails, did you?”
“Uh…I think I might’ve? I was a bit into it, wasn’t really paying as much attention because I was in the zone.”
Balger facepalmed. “Jimmy…the walker’s rails have big, round knobs on the end. If your board hits one of those…”
The human blinked a few times, comprehension dawning on him. “Oh…uh…well…fuck. I think I know why I crashed down hard, then.”
“Dammit, Jimmy.” Balger let out a steamy sigh. “This is why I keep telling you you have to be more aware of things. I know how you are, you get focused and you lose all your sense of what else is going on.” There was definitely truth to that, Jimmy ‘in the zone’ seemed to completely forget that the zone wasn’t all that existed. Other mishaps had been more minor or close calls - accidentally walking into a street sign, almost stepping out into oncoming traffic, and nearly tumbling down a hill while trying to take pictures. This was the first time it had caused any serious injury, but Balger always worried about the possibility.
“Sorry. Yeah, you’re right…I guess my head was just too on things, I was doing so well.”
“I don’t understand it. It’s just…jumping on things and spinning around and stuff. What’s the appeal? I’ve never felt the urge to try to do that, and you know I’m way more physical than you are.”
A slight shrug was all Jimmy could do, and then only with one side. “Who knows? I guess the speed is fun, and it feels like I’m doing something cool. And a lot of girls are into it, you pull off good tricks and they’ll cheer and clap for you. And you know I like making them do that, not that I’m much good at it with anything else…”
“So…you’re just…showing off?”
“Yeah, I guess. Show off enough and maybe one of them will be interested in learning more about me. And then maybe that’ll go further…”
Balger cocked his head. “Really? I thought humans didn’t really go for all that ‘showing off for mates’ thing. I thought they more did the whole social gathering and dating sites and those sorts of things.”
Jimmy chuckled. “I mean…to actually keep someone it’s gonna take more than that. But it just gets attention in the first place…you get that foot in the door and things can go forward, right? But I probably blew my chance at that by wiping out like I did, seeing someone break an arm in front of you is NOT sexy.”
“I sure as hell hope it isn’t. Arceus knows you humans are already weird enough, I’m not sure I wouldn’t be able to believe anything you could come up with.”
“I think it’s pretty safe to say major injuries are NOT a turn-on for anyone I’d ever want to get with. So, uh…I guess I’m gonna need a bit of help with stuff for a bit. Even if it’s not my main arm, there’s a lot of stuff that’s gonna be harder to do with one arm for sure…”
Balger sighed again. “Yes, I suppose that’s true. Of course, I’ll help however you need me to. How long are you going to be here?”
“Doc said they want to keep me here for a day or two to make sure I don’t have any nastier head injuries. Apparently bleeds can be hard to see right away, and that would be a REALLY bad thing to not notice. I don’t really understand it all, but it doesn’t really take a genius to realize that ‘bleeding’ and ‘brain’ are a bad combo, right?” Jimmy chuckled a bit. “Good thing, because I’m clearly not a genius.”
The Blaziken decided that now was not the time to go for the low-hanging fruit. “Do you want me to stick around?”
“I, uh, I guess I wouldn’t say no…might be nice to have someone to talk to other than doctors. But you don’t have to, like, be here constantly.”
“I suppose it would be good to make sure some things are taken care of at the house to prepare for you not being as able as normal for a bit. But I’ll definitely be around, just in case something else comes up…”
“Thanks, Balger.” Jimmy sighed and then laid back again. “Though, I’m not gonna be great conversation at the moment…dang, that stuff makes you tired…”
Balger still stayed put, even as he heard snores start to come from Jimmy. Getting himself into trouble like this was something he’d always worried about…all this just for the sake of showing off to some females? It seemed pretty odd to him, that Jimmy would think something like that was important…but, well, if he did, maybe that was just him. And there was no sense complaining about it…not when there were other things he could do.
———
It was three days later that Balger actually got to take Jimmy home - complications with the first attempt at casting his arm delayed things a little longer than expected. But at least the human seemed to be in better spirits, and some additional treatment for his concussion had helped clear the fog away. He was supposed to come back weekly for check-ins to make sure he was progressing and getting better, and a Psychic Pokémon was going to be helping check on his brain and help repair any damage from the impact. Balger wasn’t entirely sure he’d have been comfortable with that - being a Pokémon ostensibly vulnerable to psychic influence left him leery about letting them anywhere near his brain - but he wasn’t about to argue with the doctors for what they thought was best for Jimmy.
Jimmy was a bit uneven walking from the bus towards their house, the brace on his left knee still something he wasn’t used to. That was something Balger hadn’t seen initially, having been covered by the bedclothes; it was probably not going to be needed for long, the sprain on Jimmy’s knee was far milder than the damage to his arm, but they wanted to be safe. “Guh…won’t be back on the board for a while, that’s for sure,” Jimmy groaned as he tried to stay steady on his legs, his left arm casted and slung, which wasn’t making it easy to keep his balance on that side.
“You won’t be anyway,” Balger reminded him. “You nearly snapped it clean in half.”
“I know…I mean, I’d get another one…” The Blaziken’s eyes narrowed at the human, who backtracked on that quickly. “I, uh, I mean, if I was gonna skateboard again! Which, uh, I…haven’t decided on.”
“I’ll be more than happy to help you make that decision.”
“I can decide that on my own.” Jimmy’s voice dropped considerably. “Jeez, stop being such a big chicken, ya big chicken.”
“What was that?”
“Nothing, just talking to myself.”
Balger rolled his eyes; he’d heard every word, but wasn’t going to belabor the point. But he was going to have to enforce that more strictly, it seemed…one might have thought he was overstepping, and perhaps he was, but at this point, Balger was adamant that Jimmy couldn’t be allowed to skateboard until he’d gotten better about paying attention to his surroundings. This had been a pretty bad accident, and the next one he might not walk away from…there was always going to be risk to it, but if Jimmy could demonstrate he was at least making a concerned effort towards safety and awareness, maybe Balger wouldn’t have any good excuse to deny him. “Considering that I’m the one that could safely do a lot of those stunts and you’re not, you’d think my reticence would mean something to you.”
“Mmph…yeah, but no one ever got girls by being a safety nerd.”
“I’m fairly sure you won’t get any by turning your brain into mush, either.”
“Well, no, but at least taking the chance!”
“Find other ways to show off. Personally, I don’t think anyone wowed by a little skateboard trick is looking that deep into you anyway. You really think showing off is that big a deal?”
Jimmy groaned. “It’s not like I WANT it to be, but it’s the only way someone’ll pay attention to someone like me. Like, I don’t have anything else going for me, I’m not smoking hot, I’m not filthy rich, I’m not famous, what reason does anyone even have to look at me?”
“You probably shouldn’t be trying to draw that attention anyway. The people who will look at you for the way you are now, they’re the ones you should think about…they’re the ones who are looking at the real you.”
“Tch…I’d need to have someone actually-whoa!” Jimmy’s reply was cut off when his foot hit an uneven patch of grass as they turned into their yard, his knee buckling just enough to be making him tumble - and without his left arm to help brace him. It might not have been a spill like the one that had landed him in the hospital, but it would’ve been unpleasant…if Balger hadn’t zipped over to catch him before he landed, minding his wounded arm as he did. “Aheh…uh…thanks, Balger.”
“Not a problem. The yard’s clearly not set up for you while you’re off-balance. I’ll take care of this.” Balger pulled Jimmy back upright, and then hefted him up with one arm, making the human yelp as he was slung into the air. For a moment Jimmy felt like he was flying free, but as his head righted itself, he could tell that Balger had total control over him, one arm crooked under his rear and his back against that powerful arm.
“Jeez…you tryin’ to baby me or something? I’ve never seen you do something like that before.”
“Just want to make sure I keep an arm free to do whatever I need to do to get us inside,” Balger replied simply. Indeed, he only needed one arm to keep Jimmy stable, and it barely felt effortful…Jimmy felt himself redden, it was a bit embarrassing, but it was for his benefit, so he wasn’t going to complain further. Balger didn’t usually make such a big show of his strength, though…it was kind of intimidating in ways, showing how outclassed Jimmy was in that department. Not that it didn’t make sense, Balger was a Pokémon, they were just BETTER than humans in a lot of ways…and for Fighting-types in particular, strength was one of those ways.
Balger pushed the door open without any issue, and then deposited Jimmy onto the much more level floor of their house. “There we go. Safe and sound.”
“I could’ve walked,” Jimmy grumbled. “But…well, thanks, anyway.”
“You’re welcome. Let me know if you need help with anything…I suppose I’ll be doing the cooking for a while.”
“You don’t have to cook ALL the time, we can order in, too.”
“I’ll at least be using what we have before it goes bad. How long is that thing on your arm again?”
Jimmy let out a sigh. “They think six weeks. I tried to get ‘em to authorize a Recover Specialist to speed it up, but they said that’s only done for people who have nowhere to go or worse breaks.”
Balger nodded. “And that makes sense. You’re really NOT supposed to try to shortcut like that if you can afford it, human bodies aren’t designed for that sort of thing. It’s a lot harder to do that with physical wounds in the first place, you know.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know…” Jimmy still grumbled, and Balger didn’t really blame him - it didn’t sound like a fun time, he’d probably be tempted by the thought of a shortcut as well. He’d just have to do everything he could to make it easier on him for a while.
———
Jimmy was at least moving around better after a couple of days, and the knee brace came off after the pain mostly went away. He was still keeping cautious with it, but for the moment that seemed not to be much of an issue. Only the left arm and the head were at this point; Balger had been keeping on top of that, and Jimmy had admitted he still felt a bit fuzzier in the mornings than he normally did, and headaches were popping up more often. He wasn’t showing any confusion or memory loss, though, which was a good sign.
It was early afternoon, and they were sitting at the table while Balger made them some soup for lunch, while Jimmy munched on a berry from the fruit bowl in the center of the table. The two of them were talking while he did, getting close to back to their usual back-and-forth.
“You CAN’T be serious.”
“I’m absolutely serious.”
“They asked if you were my DAD?!” Jimmy looked like he was about to have a fit. “Why would they just assume something like that?!”
Balger snickered slightly. “They heard a male voice, I assume they didn’t pick up on it being a Pokémon. Would you have preferred they suggested I was your mother instead?”
“At least that woulda been closer, the way you fuss over me. You’ve got mom energy for days.”
“I don’t know if you meant that as a compliment or not, but I’m taking it that way. Anyway, they probably assumed you lived with your parents, Pokémon aren’t usually picking up the phone. It rarely is ever something that matters to them on the other end.”
“Yeah, I guess that makes sense.” Jimmy shook his head. “Still, that feels weird just to hear.”
“Why? Pokémon have been known to ‘adopt’ humans before.”
“I mean, okay, YEAH, but in the middle of the city?”
Balger shrugged. “I suppose you’ve got a point there, not many of them would be Urban Pokémon. That said, it occasionally happens when the human parents are neglectful and the Pokémon ends up raising them out of necessity.” He stuck the lid on the pot of soup, then pulled over a special cooking iron. Opening his beak, he let out a stream of fire into the iron, which started to burn with his own special brand of flame. He stuck a grate on top and placed the pot over it, letting it start to simmer.
Jimmy watched all of this production with a non-plussed expression. “We have a perfectly good stove.”
“I know. I’m using it.”
“You know what I mean.”
“I do, and the day I use inferior flame is the day I break my OWN arms.”
The human rolled his eyes. “It’s FIRE. It’s all gonna heat up either way. The flames aren’t even going to actually touch the food!”
“I don’t care what you say, it doesn’t taste as good if you use your human stove. And since I’m making the food, I get to call the shots. Besides, it’s not like it’s actually any more work for me.”
“Lay it on a bit, why don’tcha?”
Balger looked back, smirking at Jimmy. “You weren’t complaining when I lit ALL of our campfires while we were traveling.”
“Of course I wasn’t, it made sense then.” Jimmy reached for the fruit bowl again, but misjudged his reach and knocked the berry he was going for off of the bowl; it rolled off the table and under the sofa. “Gosh darn it! About the one thing I actually WISH I could use my left arm for…”
“I got it.” Balger stepped over to the couch causally. Jimmy expected him to just reach under and grab it, but the Blaziken threw a curveball at him. He kicked a talon under the couch and tilted it well off the ground, then knelt down and grabbed it from underneath and tilted it up high off the ground over his head. Casually he grabbed the stray berry from where it had came to rest, then backed out and let the couch down back into place, before walking back like nothing had ever happened. Jimmy was staring oddly at Balger as he washed the berry off, before handing it back to the human. “What?”
“The heck was that?”
“I was helping you. You’re welcome, by the way.”
“Okay, yeah, I mean, thanks, but, uh, extra much?”
“What ARE you talking about?” Balger asked innocently.
“You didn’t have to lift the whole damn couch up and you know it!”
“I didn’t. I merely lifted one half of it up.”
“You know what I mean!”
“And you’re making a bigger deal out of it that you need to, don’t you think?”
Jimmy wasn’t so sure, but he didn’t really have a good comeback, and didn’t want to get too up in arms with the person making his food for him. But still, something about Balger seemed off lately…it almost seemed like he was TRYING to flex his strength, which wasn’t something he normally did, in fact usually he almost acted like he WASN’T capable of bench-pressing a Snorlax. He wasn’t sure what it was, maybe Balger was thrown off by what had happened even if it hadn’t actually happened to him…maybe Jimmy was making too much out of it, and it would pass in another couple days.
———
It definitely was NOT passing. If anything, it was getting more obvious.
Two weeks after the accident, Jimmy was starting to at least get back to functioning for himself in a number of ways, especially as the head symptoms finally receded and he was cleared of any significant effects from the concussion. It was still awkward having one arm hindered, but he was starting to adapt to that, at least, and do a few more things around the house. Still, there were a lot of things he needed help with, leaving him reliant on Balger more than he usually was.
And whenever it was something Balger was doing, it seemed to be in as demonstrative a fashion as Jimmy had ever seen it. Getting groceries, Balger waltzed in with eight bags hung over his arms like it was normal, which it most certainly wasn’t. House cleaning, Balger was just lifting everything and holding it up effortlessly, making sure the place was spotless in ways that Jimmy would never have noticed normally. And that wasn’t even getting into the times he just randomly picked Jimmy up and moved him around casually like he was an obstacle rather than a person, without even asking him - which, to be fair, meant he wasn’t interrupting Jimmy’s gaming nearly as much, but still was very out of character for him.
And that wasn’t even getting into the exercises…Balger liked to do workouts, that was no surprise, but he usually did them in his room or in the basement, out of the way and out of sight unless Jimmy went looking for him. He wasn’t shy, he just said he preferred the solitude, and Jimmy had no reason to make anything of that. But now he was doing them in the living room, saying he just wanted a ‘change of scenery.’ But it meant Jimmy got to see what he was doing, and it was quite the display. Leg stretches which had Balger’s legs at practically a 180° angle, displaying a level of flexibility that normally only the most practiced humans could get close to. Standing backflips, ten or twenty in a row, without moving more than a few inches from his starting spot. Curling weights that were in the hundreds of pounds with each beefy arm, with it barely looking like it fazed him. And most ostentatious of all were the push-ups…the HANDSTAND push-ups. His body ramrod straight as he brought himself up and down, not wavering even the slightest bit in Jimmy’s eyes. Balger was the picture of fitness and power, to be sure, but Jimmy had never seen that pushed into his face quite like this.
It came to a head one day as they were outside, getting Jimmy some exercise in a less dangerous way. Tossing a frisbee around was at least athletic, even if Jimmy was never that good at it, and while it wasn’t risk-free the back yard was at least less uneven than the front, and he was avoiding doing too much running around. Balger was making sure the throws were on-target on his end to help with that, but Jimmy wasn’t very good at returning the favor…except, this time, he was almost trying to be off-target, trying to see how Balger would react. Because something was up, and he wanted to try to get to the bottom of it.
It had started with some errant throws, making Balger run and jump for things, which he did adeptly as per usual…but then Jimmy had starting pushing it further, almost challenging the Blaziken to make catches that shouldn’t have been feasible where he threw it. Except, Balger was still catching everything…and how. One throw that was almost out of the yard entirely was chased after with a burst of speed and caught with seemingly little effort. Another that seemed surely outside of Balger’s range was popped up into the air by a Flamethrower attack, giving the Blaziken time to catch up and nab it. Another that was going high over the fence saw Balger vault up and catch it with his taloned toes, stopping himself stock-still upright and then backflipping off, flipping the frisbee up and catching it with his hand before casually tossing it back to Jimmy. “Just a thought, you MIGHT want to work on your aim a bit.”
“…I’ll…consider that.” Jimmy didn’t consider it for a second, launching the Frisbee high and away. It landed on the roof of the house, out of reach. “Whoops. Guess I gotta get the ladder for you.”
“No need.” Balger merely turned and crouched, and then launched himself into the air with a powerful jump, landing deftly on the roof. He kicked the frisbee back up into his hand and then jumped down, landing cleanly on the ground like it was nothing, while Jimmy gaped at him. “Almost feels like you were trying to throw it up there…you CAN just say you’re ready to do something else, I won’t mind.”
“…What…the hell was that?!”
“That was called ‘retrieving a frisbee.’ I’m pretty sure you were watching the whole time.”
That was the breaking point. Jimmy was starting to actually lose it now. “Inside. We gotta TALK.”
Balger said nothing to the rather stiff declaration, heading inside casually while Jimmy trailed behind. Once they were inside, though, Jimmy could see a slight look in Balger’s eyes…all but confirming what he was thinking. This wasn’t just casual, this was very deliberate.
“Okay, out with it. What’s going on with you?”
“Whatever do you mean, Jimmy?”
“You know what I mean! All of this! All this…feats of athleticism and strength stuff! Ever since we got back from the hospital you’ve been flaunting yourself all over the place like you never ever did before!”
Balger shrugged in a gesture that even Jimmy could tell was farcical. “I’m not sure what you’re talking about. This is just stuff I can do, it’s part of being who and what I am. It’s not like you haven’t seen my strength before.”
Jimmy scoffed. “It’s not ‘just that’ and you know it! You’ve never been that obvious about it, not since we settled down! You always worked out in private, now you’re doing it right out in the open! You’re acting more like a strongman than ever, you always were reserved before! And you NEVER went that hard when we tossed frisbees around! It’s…it’s almost like you’re…showing off or something!”
At that, Balger’s expression changed, getting a little less casual as he cocked his head a bit and raised an eyebrow. “…So, you’re just NOW catching on to that?”
“That…what?” Jimmy had to stop for a moment, that was an unexpected swerve. “Wait, you HAVE been showing off?”
“Of course. I wasn’t expecting it to take this long for you to pick up on that, I’ve had to think a lot about how to keep it fresh every day.”
“But…why?”
“…Really?”
“Wh-don’t ‘really’ me! What makes you think I’d have any idea?”
Balger was quiet for a moment, and then snickered. “Wow…I think we might need to bring you back to the doctor and make sure you didn’t knock any screws loose in there after all. You really haven’t figured it out?”
“What in the world are you talking about?” Jimmy was confused as anything - why was he supposed to know? Balger clearly expected him to…and then suddenly the Blaziken jumped towards him, grabbing him bodily and holding him close as he picked him up and carried him deeper into the house. “H-hey! What’s the big idea?”
“Think back a bit, Jimmy. What got you into this whole mess?”
“Huh? I crashed on my skateboard. My memory’s not THAT fuzzy.”
“Yes, but WHY did you crash on your skateboard?”
“Because I was trying to show off. What’s with the pop quiz?”
“And WHY were you trying to show off?”
“…Because I was trying to get the attention of girls.”
“And WHY were you trying to get the attention of girls?”
“Why else? Because I wanted them to be interested in me, find me sexy and cool, want to spent time with me and maybe get…some action with me…” Jimmy’s voice trailed off as things suddenly started to click - and just as he found himself in his bedroom, flying a bit through the air as Balger tossed him gently onto his bed. “Whoa! Hey! What the hell?”
“It sounds like you’ve started putting it together.” Suddenly Balger was leaning over him, a burning fire in his eyes that Jimmy hadn’t ever seen before. “Although, if it took this long, I think that doesn’t speak well of your ‘showing off’ methods. So perhaps it’s time for a more tried-and-true method of Pokémon…being more DIRECT.”
Jimmy was aghast - he’d never suspected that Balger would feel anything like that for him! Sure, he knew Pokémon could get frisky with trainers - virtually no one who’d spent enough time as a trainer wasn’t aware of that - but he didn’t think Balger thought like that, the Blaziken had never let on about that! Well, Jimmy had never noticed it, anyway…had Balger actually been hinting at something without him realizing it? It couldn’t have come from nowhere, right? Jimmy had never thought about it, he wasn’t into guys…but that was something Pokémon didn’t really care about, Balger had mentioned before how silly it was that Jimmy didn’t go for that. Now it looked like Balger was going to make a point of it…
Jimmy had only a few moments for all of that to run through his head before Balger’s hands shot out, grabbing his shirt roughly. He couldn’t even get a squeak out before Balger yanked his arms apart, tearing the shirt apart like it was paper. “Ah! Hey, my shirt!”
“Oh, relax. It had two holes in it and the collar was falling apart.” Balger said this casually as he tore the rest of the shirt away, casting the useless rags behind him. “Just like these are…” He dragged his claws down along the jean shorts Jimmy was currently wearing, which were ragged around the cuffs and had a couple of holes in them. “I made sure they were at the top of your dresser when folding your clothes, just so I could make sure you didn’t take anything you might actually care about later.”
He really HAD been thinking about this a while…had he actually been planning to do this for just as long? Jimmy winced as those hot claws hooked into the band of his shorts - and his boxers underneath, which was another layer of unexpected. And before he could say a word in objection to that, the Blaziken’s claws flared with fire, and rent through the fabric in an ashy burst, obliterating the entire front of those garments and leaving the backs to flop uselessly on the bed. A brief moment of panic spiked in Jimmy as those claws came SO close to a very delicate spot, but Balger was able to avoid even grazing him, an impressive display of his physical control.
Mental control, however, appeared to be fraying, as a fierce grin appeared on Balger’s beak, looking down at the now naked human. “Hnhn…now that’s what I like to see. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to sneak a peek at you, trying to fuel my fantasies…you know, I alway thought you were pretty sexy, in a subby sort of way…something about you just seems like it’d be perfect moaning on a bigger male’s dick. Hm, I’ve been wanting to be the one to make it happen for so long…” Jimmy felt himself shuddering involuntarily at the vague threat of that...against all expectation, he was starting to get aroused. “Hnhn, feeling a bit heated, are you? Well, you know what they say…fight fire with fire.”
“B-balger…” Jimmy was flushed, sweating from the heat that was starting to feel sweltering. The pressure in his head was getting intense, pushing him to yield to the powerful creature…he’d been warned about this, that even Pokémon who weren’t Dark-types could have some of that influence if they were born of one, carried on words through their aura. It was a warning he hadn’t ever cared that much about before…Balger had never shown anything like that, he was normally pretty reserved in nature, but there was no doubt what was happening now. And he’d never imagined it would hit so HARD…a guy who had never thought about banging another dude was on the verge of surrendering to his Blaziken’s amorous overtures like a seasoned pro. Maybe he should have tried to fight it harder, but…Balger had been showing what he could do for days now, how strong and powerful he was, what kind of feats he was capable of…his influenced mind was telling him he couldn’t and shouldn’t try to oppose Balger, that it was better to give in and give what him what he wanted.
The decision was rapidly made for him, but his indecision was pretty much an answer as it was. Balger snatched Jimmy up, hefting him in his arms and holding him against his hot feathery body, lifting and twisting him as effortlessly as Jimmy could have lifted a small stuffed animal. The Blaziken’s blazing cock rubbed up under his legs, leaving a searing sensation wherever it touched, on that was bizarrely pleasurable and made Jimmy squirm and twist. “See, not so bad, is it? I can give you as much pleasure as any female ever could…maybe even more. Just relax, and let me take care of you…”
Relaxing was maybe going to be a bit on the difficult side, as worked up as Jimmy was getting, but he was decidedly surrendering to the overtures, ceding everything to Balger. And that was just what the avian wanted to see, as he lifted Jimmy a little and lined his cock up with the human’s ass…a prize he’d been pining after for literal years, had restrained himself on for so long trying to tell himself it wasn’t a good idea to be the one to bring it up, had fought those urges down each and every time. But now…now he had convinced himself this was good, this was what Jimmy needed, one less distraction so that he could get better at focusing and keeping himself out of danger. One could have called the logic warped, but to a pining Pokémon looking for any excuse to convince himself to take what he wanted, it could have been twisted like Giratina’s Distortion World and still worked for him.
And he wasn’t giving himself any chance to second-guess things. A loud caw escaped him as he thrust in, nice and hard, burying himself deep into Jimmy and getting a high-pitched yell out of the human. That blazing heat lit Jimmy’s ass on fire like nothing else ever had, and the thickness of it was a shock to his unprepared and previously untouched anus. But the heat pouring through him was staving off the pain, soothing him even as its intensity seemed like it should be torching him viciously. Balger wasn’t going to let that happen - he most certainly did NOT want to hurt Jimmy, that was quite the opposite of what he was looking for, and he was tuning his heat to be perfectly harmless without any effort at all.
The effort was reserved for the rutting. And Balger gave it to Jimmy, in the way that felt perfectly natural to him - all-out full-bore slamfucking. His grip was tight on Jimmy as he pounded in fiercely, pummeling that ass with his powerful hips and smacking his feathery crotch into his cheeks in a display that looked almost reckless. Jimmy was crying out blissfully as he was swamped with heat and pressure, the force of that dick burrowing into him making his head spin. His prostate was being assailed ruthlessly, and was clearly liking its introduction to the wonders of anal sex judging by the sharp spikes of ecstasy rushing into Jimmy’s head. He was little more than a wild ragdoll in Balger’s arms, limbs flailing about mindlessly as he was overrun completely with the force of that lustful assault.
He couldn’t possibly have done any damage like that, but Balger was finding himself distracted by the strikes of Jimmy’s legs against his, and decided to do something about it. He shoved in all the way, and then leaned back slightly and let go of Jimmy, letting the human’s body rest against his just enough. Before Jimmy knew what was going on, Balger had snatched his legs up and was bending them upwards, trapping them in a tight hold between forearm and upper arm, catching the human’s arms along with them and keeping them restrained as well. With one foot on the bed and one on the floor, he started to hammer in again, with even more force than before, and Jimmy completely under his control.
If Jimmy thought it had been wild before, now he was truly overwhelmed - his legs bent up further than he thought was possible, his body was basically a sleeve for that pistoning prick, he felt infernally hot inside and out, and he was in ecstasy like he’d never imagined before. Every breath that escaped him carried dulcets of rapture, and what little he could draw in was quickly punched out of him by that impressive fuckstick, pounding away into him like it was meaning to break him…if this was what been broken was like, though, Jimmy was all but ready to fall to pieces.
Jimmy wasn’t sure how long it took, time seemed a blur when his head was as screwy as it was now, but it felt like no time at all before he was cumming, shooting out onto the bed and into the air a bit as his own cock flopped up and down uncontrollably. In the position he was in, he couldn’t even squirm effectively, all he could do was clench down on Balger’s dick, squeezing it tight as it slid in and out, soaking his ass with heated fluids, making every thrust burn fiercer. If someone had told him Balger was branding his innards at that very moment, Jimmy would have completely believed them…
At least, until Balger screeched out again, the sound ringing in Jimmy’s ears as he suddenly came, and HARD, that torrid lava flushing through his innards with forceful shots that felt like gut shots inside him, and so volcanically intense that Jimmy didn’t know how he wasn’t bursting into flames right then and there. A glorious conquest for Balger, who was letting loose years of pent-up frustration and desire, pumping them all into the human who’d been the target for all of it, and who he was sure was no longer going to be unreceptive to this idea going forward - his ability to read emotion wasn’t nearly as strong as a true Dark-type’s, but he could catch hints of it here and there, especially when they were strong emotions, and Jimmy’s bliss was as boundless as he’d ever felt it. And it was so satisfying knowing that HE was the one who had brought it there.
It took some time for Balger’s load to taper off, and longer still for him to relax and release Jimmy’s limbs, which were definitely feeling the stretch a bit. He laid down on the bed on his side, still holding Jimmy and rubbing his stomach a bit; he could feel the heat he’d left inside, know that Jimmy would be feeling it for a good while. “So…enjoy yourself?”
“Haha…f-fuck, Balger…” was all the more Jimmy could get out. He was panting hard, unfathomably heated, spent and satisfied like he’d never believed.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” snickered the bird. “Maybe next time I’ll show you an easier pace…had to get that out of my system, though. Of course, I think I can get you to liking the wilder rides, too…I’m certainly open to providing you enough experiences to get you more than used to it. Hm, isn’t this better than dinking around on a skateboard trying to draw attention? Much more direct, much more effective…can’t argue with results, can you?”
Jimmy certainly couldn’t at that moment, if at all. Balger had shown him something he wasn’t going to soon forget…and he knew it wouldn’t be long before he gave the Blaziken a chance to reinforce that. And if this was how Balger wanted to show off to him, he had a feeling he’d start to prefer it over other things before too much longer…
