A Viper's Nest: Border Station Five - Bored Games
This is the chapter 7-8 Interlude.
John scrolled through the information displayed on his Pad. He was researching information about the 3d printers available for the crew on board Border Station Five. From what he had read so far, as long as you had a general idea of what you wanted to make, the printers would be able to create it. John had noticed that a lot of technology used by The Matriarchy came with an easy-to-use and intuitive interface. Lying on top of Etsala, John was very comfortable, thanks in part to her thick thighs and having his head between Etsala’s ample chest. Her breasts resting on his shoulders acted like a comfy pillow.
“Are you comfortable?” Etsala asked as she adjusted her position.
John and his two guards were currently lying naked within the nest of his VIP Suite. Etsala had suggested John rest on top of her while he did his research, and Nisku lay nearby, asleep. He had initially been reluctant, thinking that she would want to do more than just lie in bed. However, Etsala had said that she would behave. After a while, Nisku, having become increasingly bored, dozed off.
“Yes, thanks,” John replied, “I’m almost done,” he said.
“What have you been working on?” Etsala asked as she tried to look at John’s Pad.
“I’ve been designing some board games,” John replied, “I thought they might help us pass the time,” he said.
“What is a board game?” Etsala asked.
“I’ll show you,” John then raised his right arm, and Etsala took the Pad. The motion of her arm pushed her right breast against John’s head.
“Thanks,” she replied, and then proceeded to look over the designs John had made. After a few minutes, she handed the Pad back to John and then used her tail to wake Nisku up.
“Huh, what?” was all Nisku managed to say as Etsala’s tail kept hitting her. A line of drool connected her mouth to the fabric of the nest. She sat up, dazed, and took a while to wake up.
“That was mean,” John said.
“Funny though,” replied Etsala. She held onto John as she sat up. Adjusting her position again, Etsala had her back against the edge of the Nest while John was sitting on her lap. She pulled him close and then plonked her breasts over his shoulders.
“Why do you keep doing that?” John asked.
“Are you saying you do not like it?” Etsala asked.
“Ha. Ha,” replied John.
“You are very warm, and having your head in the middle means your back is against my torso,” she said. “The amount of heat transferred via skin to scale contact keeps me so warm,” Etsala finished talking and hugged John tightly.
“Have you finished?” Nisku asked John. She wiped the last remaining bits of saliva from her mouth.
“I have, would you like to see?” he asked, and Nisku shook her head. Her hood flapped back and forth.
“Well, let’s go see if the printers can make what I’ve made,” John said as he tried to stand up. Etsala resisted initially but then allowed him to move.

“Your turn,” John said as he finished turning the pieces over.
Etsala frowned at the checkered gaming board and carefully looked at the wooden pieces. After a few minutes, she picked up one of her round, double-sided gaming pieces and placed it onto the board. Turning over those owned by John, she looked up at him and smiled.
“I think I am getting close to beating you,” Etsala declared.
“Are you sure?” John asked. He then placed one of his gaming pieces and proceeded to turn over two rows of Etsala’s.
“What? Where did that come from?” she asked, confused at what she was seeing.
“Are you sure you’re a member of a big and powerful alien empire?” John asked mockingly, “Because I’m surprised at how easy it is to beat you at Reversi,” he said.
“As I told you while we were playing Chess, I do not think tactically,” Etsala said as she picked up one of her pieces.
“I’ve noticed,” replied John, “Chess, Draughts, Backgammon, and now Reversi. You’re not good at board games, are you?” he asked. Glancing at a table nearby, there were three wooden boxes. One unfolded into a Backgammon board with the pieces and dice. The other two contained a complete Chess set and pieces for playing Draughts.
Before Etsala could reply, there was a loud thud followed by a loud ‘Oww’. Looking over to where the noise had come from, both John and Etsala saw that Nisku had faceplanted the table she was sitting in front of. Unknown to both of them, Nisku had dozed off, resting her chin on her right hand. At some point while they were playing, her head slipped off, and the result was her head hitting the table face-first. Etsala sniggered while covering her mouth, and John looked away, trying not to laugh.
“Ow. Who hit me?” Nisku asked as she sat upright, a line of drool linking her mouth to the table. She rubbed her flat nose as she stretched.
John and his two guards were currently sitting in the communal area for the VIP section of Border Station Five. They had been there for several hours, since John had finished getting his Board Games printed. Neither of his guards knew what they were, and so they were curious when John led them to one of the station’s printers. Once each one was complete, the trio headed back to the communal area. Unlike Etsala, Nisku got bored very quickly, and so she moved away from them and fell asleep.
“Are you okay?” John asked as he got up and walked over to where Nisku was sitting. She looked up at him, still sleepy.
“Did someone hit me?” she asked.
“Heh, no,” John replied, with a snigger.
“Why are you laughing?” Nisku asked.
“You fell asleep, and then I think your head fell off your hand,” John replied. “I’m guessing you hit the table with your face,” he said, and then Etsala burst out laughing.
“Urgh, it is not funny!” Nisku complained as she attempted to stand. Her body didn’t react as fast as she had hoped, and so Nisku half stumbled, half fell over as she stood. “Are you two finished?” she asked as she picked herself up off the floor.
“Almost,” John replied, “there is one more board game I thought we could try, and this time all three of us can play,” he said.
“Ooh, what is it?” asked Etsala.
“I hope it is not like the others,” Nisku said.
“This one is different and is aimed at children,” John said as he revealed the box. Nisku walked over to the table where he was sitting, and both she and Etsala looked down at the box. “It’s called Snakes and Ladders,” he said.
