Illian: Silver and Gold
#7 of Illian: A world born anew
Hey guys, Markus here once again with another chapter of the Illian tales. This chapter is going to be more like Heart of a Human, Shell of a Dragon, except hopefully much better done in terms of grammar and pace. If any of you find that this chapter is too long, please let me know so that in the future I can fit these stories to a likeable size. I would also like to thank Blackcat for helping me with my writing, so if you read this, thanks so much for the help. Sorry if it seems like the tale takes a while to describe the main character of this particular tale, but the way pieced itself together in my head made it seem this way was more appropriate. This note is going to be short, so without any more to say; here we go.
So much blood. The worst part about these damned nightmares was the blood. For months now, Eonarchanus, Eon to most, was being plagued by the same horrid nightmare; always the same memory over and over again: the day he lost Markus.
That day had been a normal day except for two things; it was Markus's birthday and that was the night of the Blood Festival, an event held in the Golden City to celebrate the arrival of the Blood Moon. The day even started out normal enough, the same old routines that all squires had to participate in; cleaning up the stables, washing the Silver Guard's armor, shoeing the horses, everything that a knight in training had to do for the higher-ups.
The last order Eon had been given that evening by the Silver Guard was to straighten up the bookshelves in the High Father Izil's library. Personally, Eon couldn't stand the old man; but going there would give him a chance to talk to Markus as he would be finishing up his lessons. As he headed out of the front gates of the recruit's quarters, Eon stopped and noticed that the sky was way too black for the afternoon, sending a shiver down his spine just thinking about it. Pushing those minor thoughts aside, Eon headed once again to the Church of the High Father, the Golden City's most cherished landmark.
The Church of the High Father was understandably famous, just looking at it could cause one to gaze at its design for hours, maybe even longer. The outside of the church consisted of a large domed tower surrounded by four domed towers. The center tower was made of Crystal Tyrs, the strongest ore known to all of the races of Illian. These Tyrs alone gave the tower a light blue hue that made one feel as though they were connecting with the divine powers just by looking at the glory of the massive domed structure. The four smaller towers that were connected to the center tower by even smaller, arching pillars were made only of Mythril, a lighter, but sturdy ore that has been known to even defend against DragonFire.
Being forced to head to the back regions on the Church of the High Father, Eon had soon found the library he was ordered to clean. Upon entering the room, Eon looked around at the disgusting mess the High Father had made of his library, sighed and thought to himself, By Gree, this old man really has to learn how to put things back where they belong. So for hours on end, Eon spent his afternoon placing books on their proper shelves, removing excess food the old man must have left while studying, placing spell scrolls back in the cases where they rightfully went, and even dusting the multitude of tables on which many books had been placed.
Just as he was finished dusting the last table, Eon heard a teenager call out from the door of the library "so how does it feel cleaning up after the old man?"
Eon just smiled, turned around and said "how long have you been watching me do work the countless nuns around here should be doing, Markus?"
The boy came closer and said "Izil finished the last lesson about an hour ago, near the time you were categorizing the class four spells."
"What, you didn't even bother to help; sometimes I wonder how much use you really are."
"So being friends means I have to help you do your chores, if I would have known that..." Markus replied with a smile on his face.
Eon ignored that last part and said "want to go climb the tower and look through the dome again, like we did when we were kids?"
Cringing at the reminder of his youth, Markus got more serious than he intended and replied "No, we're going to head back to the training court to have a nice little match, you still need to improve on your defense."
"Markus, I'm sorry, I forgot..." Eon said, trying to apologize for bringing back old memories. When both of them were around eight, Markus and Eon were forced to watch as Jessica Wyrmheart, their friend and co-conspirator in childhood mishaps was pushed out of the center tower dome by her drunken father. Eon knew that before that, Markus and Jessica were becoming more than friends, and watching her die must have been the hardest thing for Markus, even ten years after it happened.
"Forget it, let's go" Markus said to Eon, obviously not caring at all that his friend was trying to mend the damage he had done.
"No hard feelings then."
"Sure" and with that, they were on their way to the training grounds.
When they reached the training ground, Markus dashed ahead of Eon and yelled back to him "Let me go grab the training swords."
Within a few minutes, Markus came back with three wooden swords. Confused, Eon asked "Why three?"
"I'm going to try using two at once; I want to see if what the old man has taught me really works."
"Alright, your funeral" Eon said with as he grabbed his weapon from Markus and assumed the battle position. Even though Eon knew he had an advantage against Markus by being able to focus on one weapon instead of two, he knew he was going to lose; for Markus had been the one who taught Eon to use a sword in the first place.
As Eon prepared to charge at Markus with all of his ability; everything went black. Suddenly, he was in an alleyway in the dead of night, with the Blood Moon shining brightly above him. Quickly recalling what was happening, Eon nearly cried as he thought: this is where I get attacked by that dog thing!!
As the nightmare took its full effect, time began skipping faster. At one moment, Eon was standing perfectly still in the back of the alleyway, the next he was on the ground being attacked by the beast that had attacked him so long ago. As he began feverishly defending himself from the beast, he constantly looked behind him, making sure Markus wasn't there; but soon enough, the time came. The nightmare sped time once again to the point where Markus had tried pulling the beast off of Eon, only to be bitten in the process; but this time, Eon caught something he never remembered before. Right before the beast struck at Markus, Eon heard it whisper "son of a bitch." As the beast struck, Eon screamed, waking him from the dreaded nightmare like so many times before.
Returning to the real world, Eon sprang up as he felt the sudden rush of fear take him. Damn it, why does this same dream keep coming back, Eon thought to himself, fully drenched in sweat produced by the nightmare. The small bed he was in was accompanied by 19 similar beds, each occupied by a sleeping Silver Guard. Pulling off the bed covers; Eon began remembering his current location. "The Silver Guard barracks, that's right" he whispered to himself, making sure none of the other soldiers in the room were awakened.
Heading over to the small mirror to see the damage done by the nightmare, Eon also took the time to check how much his features had changed over the two years since the day he lost his best friend. His naturally white hair was two inches longer since then, now at least shoulder length, his silver eyes shone with a keenness that could very well be another sword, he had grown at least four inches, making him now 6' 2'' and his body had taken on a mold produced by the laborious work being a Silver Guard provided. After examining himself, Eon wiped away the sweat on his face and arms, grabbed a small bite of left over bread from the rations bin, donned the silver armor required to be worn by the Silver Guard, and prepared for another day of duty.
As Eon stepped out of the barrack's door, he quickly closed his eyes to protect himself from the dawn's bright rays. Moments later, his eyes adjusted to the light, causing him to just frown and say "wrong day to mess with me sun, today I'm leaving this hellhole, but first I get to get the worst ass kicking of my life by the king himself."
Picking up his step, he quickly strode through the morning mist, trying to get to the Golden Castle before being late. As he reached the front gate of the castle, Eon decided to take one last look at the marvel of the Golden City before leaving the damned place forever. The Golden Castle was, true to its name, a castle made entirely out of gold, yet still strong enough (with the help of enchantments) to defend against any form of attack. The castle was defended by four large towers made entirely out of Mythril, a Crystal Tyrs wall that has been rumored to have never been scratched, and finally a swarm of Resal (Reh-saal), giant beetle golems that spew acid at their enemies. As he stepped up to the main gate, the guards saw that his silver armor was that of the Silver Guard, and so they let him enter the castle without any opposition.
The inside of the castle was by far more extravagant than the outside. The throne room was the first room in the entire castle, but one could clearly see that there were many branches of hallways and doorways that led to the various sections of the building that were commonly unexplored by many. The throne room walls were covered in various tapestries of silver and gold, the city's colors, along with portraits of kings and their families long past, including that of Jerico. The throne room was held up by eight pillars in total, four on each side of the room in a straight line leading towards the throne. The carpeting that led to the throne was pure wood nymph hair, an expensive, yet sad rarity for the Golden City. For authority purposes only, there were six steps that led to the throne.
As Eon briskly made his way across the throne room, he noticed two things wrong with this picture; first, the king was very pissed, and two, the king's aid was looking very pale at the moment, a first for Eon. As according to the laws of the Golden City, the king's aid must be someone who shows no emotion, for they alone are the king's backbone and support, one that must hold his own emotions while the king freely shares his own. When he made it to the bottom step, Eon knelt down on his left leg and said "Sire, it is not my place to ask what is wrong at this time, but I seek permission to end my duties as a Silver Guard."
The king finally realized that someone was even there and replied "Sir Eonarchanus, if you truly wish to leave the Silver Guard, then you must do one last duty to your people of the Golden City; head to Scycrain and persuade the Evizilan Alpha Male to send us reinforcements to aid in these raids against the vampires."
"But, sire please, I wish to rid myself of these shackles, not make them..."
"Silence, young Guard, know that this is not a favor, but an order from your king himself, you can do as I tell you or stay a Silver Guard the rest of your life, there is no middle ground here."
Now Eon was angry, not only did the king order him to go to the city of Scycrain, but he also was threatening to make him a permanent soldier in the Silver Guard, which was the last thing Eon wanted. Gathering his composure, he finally said "In a fortnight (two weeks), you shall have your answer, my lord." Pleased with Eon's answer, the king just shooed him away, obviously uninterested with even looking at Eon any longer.
As he arrived near the front gate, Eon noticed that a tall, skinny man with deep black hair was standing at the castle gates, and by the way he was watching Eon, he was probably there to see him. The closer Eon got to the gate, the closer this stranger got to him, until finally, when he was halfway to the gate, the two were within arm's reach of each other. Growing suspicious of the stranger, Eon asked in a calm, yet steady voice "Sir, do you wish something of me, or are you here for someone who needs me?" The boy just shook his head at the last part of the sentence and point towards the stables. Hmmm....so he wants to lead me to a horse? Wait..that's perfect, I can get to Scycrain within a few days time now, Eon thought to himself as he let the young stranger lead him towards the stables. Though one thing did bother Eon, the man never talked, until finally, Eon decided that no matter what he could do, the man would not talk.
Finally, gathering a bit of courage, Eon asked the man "Sir, I don't mean to be rude, but are you a mute by chance?" At this the man just stopped, turned around, nodded his head and smiled. Well....that explains a lot, Eon quickly thought as they arrived at the stables. As the two entered the horse shack, one horse caught Eon's eye the most. This horse had a black coat, a thick streak of red hair that trailed from its head to its back, and the most frightening set of blue eyes that Eon had ever seen in an animal. Yet, even though this horse was intimating, Eon felt the sudden urge to jump on the horse's back and dash out of the Golden City.
The mute man noticed this and made an odd noise; he clacked his teeth together. After a few moments, Eon realized what the mute was doing, he was laughing, laughing at him!! Suddenly Eon felt a little embarrassed, yet also a little hot under his collar for being laughed at, so quickly he shot back at the mute "So I take it this horse isn't mine? A simple nod or shake of the head will do." As soon as Eon said that, the mute stopped clacking his teeth together, got very serious, and led Eon to the horse he was going to be riding for the next few days. A little disappointed in himself, Eon tried to apologize to the poor mute as they walked down the stable hallway to reach the horse, but as soon as he put the right words together, they arrived at the horse. Unlike the other horse he had seen, this one was a light, brown horse with little spots of white every now and then. Upon further inspection, Eon noticed that the shoes given to the horse were finely whittled down, meaning that this horse was meant for speed, exactly what Eon needed. As soon as he finished looking at the horse, he realized that he had never apologized to the mute man, but as he was about to, he realized that the man was gone. Eon just shrugged, placed the saddle on the horse's back, and calmly strode out of the Golden City, not knowing that this was the last time in a long while he would be able to gaze upon the glory of the Golden City.
The journey to Scycrain itself wasn't all that bad; it was the constant stops for water, food, and rest that bugged Eon. It was true that Eon didn't like the feeling of entering the main capital of the Evizil, but deep down he knew that in that city he would find clues to help him find his best friend. The reason he was so sure of this was because at the night of the Blood Moon two years ago, he saw what his best friend had become, a werewolf, just like the old stories told by the crazy old nuns had said. That moment alone was enough to convince Eon that his friend was somewhere near Scycrain, and he was going to do everything he could to see him again.
Along the path leading to the City of the Moon, Eon had the chance to finally gaze at the glory of Illian. The forests radiated a green glow that brought comfort to all who looked at it, yet at the same time, was fierce enough for most travelers to know not to betray the forests by ruining the land where it stood. The lakes brought a sense of relaxation that no city can bring, not even through the wondrous perfumes that streak city roads. To Eon, the sense of completion the nature Illian provided was stronger than that of the famous Church of the High Father. Yet, as the moons gave way to suns, and the suns gave way to moons, Eon finally reached the borders of Scycrain, and to his utmost surprise, he was glad.
The city gates were wide open, almost as if the Evizil were expecting him, but Eon knew that couldn't be true, and so he quickly cast any thoughts relating to that notion. Before he entered the city, he jumped off his horse, led it to a nearby stable, and tied the horse to the stall. As he finished, Eon noticed one thing was wrong about this whole scene; not a single living thing was here. No bakers, no towns people, no florists, no brewers, no nothing; the whole city seemed to be devoid of life. Now panicking, Eon started thinking, what if the Malar got here before I did? What if they killed everyone? What am I suppose to do now?
As he started heading back into the stable, he heard a faint noise; cheering. Shocked, Eon turned around to see where the noise was coming from. Quickly, he started dashing from house to house, seeing if the noise would get louder, but to his dismay, it seemed to only get quieter. Finally, he decided to head to the center of the city in hopes of finding a castle. As he got nearer and nearer to the castle, he found that the noise only got louder, and soon enough, he knew why. In the City of the Moon, there was no castle, just a massive open area where a throne encrusted with Crystal Tyrs was placed in the center. The throne itself was a tall chair nestled on top of eight steps, and on the top of the throne sat a glorious silver crescent moon, the sign of the Night Mother.*
In this "open castle", every inhabitant of Scycrain was cheering for the man sitting on the Crescent Throne, an Evizil with snow white fur, a very toned body, and a pair of blue eyes that nearly frightened Eon to death. Yet, Eon calmed himself down and reminded himself, come on man, you have to do this to find Markus, and soon, he was ready.
With his bravado gathered, Eon quickly strode down the main pathway to the Crescent Throne, along the way followed by gasps and looks of surprise as they saw a member of the Silver Guard walk toward the throne. When he reached the stairs that led to the throne, Eon knelt down, bowed his head and said "Alpha Male of the City of the Moon, my name is Eon..."
Today, Markus was enjoying the benefits of being the replacement Alpha Male for the city of Scycrain. The current Alpha Male was away on an important mission in Crysal dealing with a pesky dragon that was bothering the nearby settlements, so with Markus being his nearest friend, the Alpha Male asked him if he could be a replacement for the next week. Markus gladly accepted, knowing that this would give him time away from his duties as the leader of the Alpha Pack.
On his final day of leadership, Markus decided to call everyone in Scycrain to the Moon Plaza. Everyone that day seemed relieved to be free of their duties, so most of them were in a happy mood. When he knew everyone had arrived, Markus began reciting the speech he had been preparing for the citizens. The young Evizil cleared his throat and said "Thank you everyone for coming today, I'm sure you all have much to do around your keeps, and it gladdens me to know you will take that time to attend this. As many of you know, this is my last day being the Alpha Male, and starting tomorrow, Uren, the current Alpha Male, will be retaking his rightful place on this throne. I would also like to thank the citizens of Scycrain for being very supportive of my actions and my duties as replacement Alpha Male." Just as he was about to finish, a young human male walked down the aisle, one that Markus knew very well.
As the young man reached the steps that led to the throne, he kneeled down, bowed his head and said "Alpha Male of the City of the Moon, my name is Eon..."
"Eonarchanus, I know your name, young man."
The boy looked very surprised at the fact that Markus knew his name, and suddenly he knew why. Eon doesn't know I'm a werewolf; Markus began piecing together in his head. Suddenly, the boy regained his composure, lifted his head and said "I see my lord has already sent you word of my arrival, Alpha Male."
Markus just shook his head and said "No Eon, if you remember, we use to be friends" and as soon as he said that, he began to slowly shift from his lycanthrope state into his human form. Remember, change slowly so that Eon can truly grasp that this is what you have become, Markus reminded himself as he almost shifted at his normal speed. Slowly, his large, doggish ears shrank to the size of normal 18 year old human ears, his legs began shrinking back to their proper size, causing bones to lightly snap and readjust to the new shape, and soon, his whole body became the human form it once held two years ago.
Obviously catching Eon off guard, Markus just laughed and said "Jeez Eon, you make it seem like I just told you the Golden City had fallen."
The young man just stood up, smiled and said "it isn't every day that you see your long lost friend morph into a human, you know."
"Quite right, my friend, now, with this whole ceremony complete, I believe you and I have a lot of catching up to do.

As the sun began moon began seizing its throne in the starry night sky, Markus and Eon had talked, laughed, and shouted at so much that had happened over the past two years. But finally, as Markus led Eon to a special tent he had prepared for tonight, he grew very serious and asked "Eon, I know you are in the Silver Guard, but would you like to join me in a very...interesting experience?"
Eon just laughed and replied "Eh Fuck it, I was planning on leaving the Silver Guard anyway."
"Good, good, now...this tent before us is only usable by Alpha Male, so just know that you and I are very lucky to enjoy this."
"You lucky, aren't you the permanent Alpha Male?"
"By the Night Mother, no, I'm just filling in for the current Alpha Male while he is away on a mission. If he comes back unsuccessful however, I may have no choice but to bring my Pack to the mission site to deal with it myself."
"Oh....well then, this "experience", can you be more specific?"
"Sadly no, you'll see when you get inside." As soon as Markus said that, he led Eon to the entrance to the tent and opened the flap. The tent was overall very large, holding inside it a small bed, a makeshift fireplace, a small bathtub in the corner of the tent, and an odd assortment of "items" that Eon had never seen before. When Eon saw what else was inside he was shocked; two women, one Evizil and a feline. The feline had an orange coat, nicely shaped hips, and a pair of the largest breasts Eon had ever seen in his entire life. The feline's ears were quite short for a cat, but her eyes held a sense of danger and need. The werewolf girl on the other hand, had little hips, a grey coat, very petite breasts, and eyes that held one thing inside them, longing. The women themselves were very attractive but what surprised Eon was that the two of them were fully naked.
Slowly, the feline walked up to Markus, started trailing her finger down his shirt, and gave a little mew of laughter. After she was done, she just looked up at him and said "So this is your final day of this stupid job then, wolf boy?"
Markus just smiled and said "That's right, and tonight, I planned a very special night for you and me."
"So I take it Tasha is here for that reason also? Markus, I never knew you could be such a horny little wolf" the feline said with a cute little smile. Soon, she retraced her finger up Markus's shirt and began unbuttoning his shirt, revealing his plain human skin.
The feline's smile turned into a pout and said "you know this human form won't do at all for me, turn back into your well endowed wolf form."
Markus just let out a big laugh and said "Of course, how could I forget how much my sexy little kitty likes her milk." With that, Markus shifted back into his lycanthrope form in a matter of seconds, causing the feline to give a big smile and begin undoing the rest of his clothing.
As the two were making their way through each others clothing, Eon just watched the little Evizil known as Tasha. He had to admit the werewolf girl was very quiet, but her eyes still held that sense of longing, causing Eon to believe that she wanted something from this night. Gathering a little courage, Eon began removing the tiresome armor, leaving himself exposed with his light undergarments. After throwing the Silver Guard armor to the empty side of the tent, Eon walked up to the werewolf girl and said "I'm sorry to say it, but I've never had sex before, so this may get a little....interesting."
Seeming to break out of a day dream, Tasha started to actually look at Eon, causing him to become a little scared that he had said the wrong thing. Within moments, Tasha's eyes wide and started to mumble "I'm...I'm a virgin also, so...so I guess this will be interesting for the both of us."
"I guess it will." With that said Tasha walked behind Eon and lightly began ripping the back of his shirt, causing it to fall off in front of him. As Eon was enjoying the moment, he started watching Markus and the feline go at it.
By this point, Markus had nothing left of his clothing and had already removed the covers of the small bed. With her tail flicking in every direction, the feline sat on the bed and awaited her great wolf partner to join her. Knowing she was ready, Markus gently pushed the feline down on the bed and began trailing his fingers down her body. He started at her neck, but slowly made his way down to her breasts and when he made it there, he began swirling his finger around her large nipples, which caused the feline to let out a soft mew of pleasure, signaling that her nipples were hardening. When he knew that his hands would no longer be able to pleasure the feline's large breasts, he bent over her and began kissing each hardened nipple. This caused the feline to let out even louder mews, and soon there was an odd scent in the air; juices. Markus just smiled and said "Kia, you want me to keep going or do you want to kick it up a notch?"
The feline let out a low growl, locked her legs around his body and said "I need you...now!!" With no other hints needed, Markus picked Kia off of the bed and began lightly penetrating her now steaming pussy.
As he watched, Eon had to admit that Markus was definitely good at the craft of seduction, and before he knew it, Tasha was finished removing the rest of the undergarments. Before he could say anything, the werewolf girl turned him around so he was facing her, and pushed him down on the ground. With Tasha being as petite as she was, she knew there was no way she could pleasure men the way Kia could, so she decided to use the one trick she did have; the amazing powers of a wolfish tongue. Starting at Eon's chest, she began licking her way down his chest to his stomach. There she stayed a while, lightly tracing a circle around his belly, causing Eon to give a small sigh of pleasure. Knowing this was going to work, Tasha made her way to his nether regions, and began licking the tip of his erect dick. At first, she began licking it as if she were enjoying an ice cream cone on a hot day. When she noticed that Eon was enjoying it, she decided to go all out. Slowly, she placed her whole mouth on the tip of his dick, and made her way downward. This caused Eon to give a low moan of ecstasy from the waves of pleasure he was receiving from Tasha's mouth. As he reveled in the wonders the girl's tongue was doing to his dick, Eon decided to see how Markus was faring.
With Kia so close to Markus, her breasts were pushing against his coat of white hair, only making the experience more enjoyable for the both of them. Each pump of Markus's dick brought unimaginable amounts of pleasure to the feline, causing her to moan with pure joy. Soon, the pleasure became too great for the feline, causing her to bury her head in Markus's chest and shudder as she felt the orgasm arrive. As she finished spreading her juices, she slowly slid Markus's large wolfish dick out of her and moved forward more, positioning her ass right above Markus's dick. Greedily, Kia slid her ass right on top of his dick faster than Markus expected, causing him to give a small yelp of surprise. Mixed in with her mew of newfound pleasure, Kia gave a small laugh at causing the big wolf boy to let out a cry.
Obviously growing tired of licking Eon's dick, Tasha released her grip, moved forward, and let Eon gently slid right into her asshole. With the new experience, the two gave loud yelps of surprise, causing Markus and Kia to laugh. With the pleasure of Tasha's mouth still lingering inside of his dick, Eon felt as if he was about to explode; but for the werewolf's sake, he endured the pressure swelling inside, allowing him to enjoy the moment even more. For minutes Eon pumped his dick into the Evizil girl's tight ass, until finally, the two of them could hold on any longer, causing them both to spill their contents. Finally knowing what true pleasure felt like, Tasha lay on Eon's chest, not bothering to remove his pulsating dick from her ass.
Kia started to remember why she loved werewolves so much; the things they can do to one's ass is astounding. Not only did she feel complete, but the pulse each stroke of Markus's large cock left Kia no choice but to mew with delight. As each stroke gave more pleasure, the time the two had before they would hit climax shortened; until finally, the two gave loud moans of ecstasy as their bodies shuddered under the force of the orgasms.
As the four lay on the ground panting with the rigors and delights the night brought them, Eon recalled the code of the Silver Guard, "With silver armor we save the day, with golden swords we pave the way."
