Marzipan's heart pounded in his chest, his sides ached, he was so desperate to stop and take a breath but as soon as he stilled he could hear the rustling. The monstrous form of the silkin, a snake-like beast with eight claw-tipped legs, was constantly on his heels.
The cat had nearly shaken his pursuer before, then while trying to leave the area as silently as possible he'd practically walked into it! A flashing rustle in the leaves to his side made him divert his course, his hand pushed through a thickly leafed branch shoving it out of his path. The green and brown gave way to a thick mass of white webbing, yet Marzipan's momentum was too strong for him to just stop. His hand carried on forward fingers trying to spread in time as it landed open palmed in the sticky cling. The white was a solid sheet, sticky yet pliantly yielding, not stopping him until his shoulder and even a cheek were mired within.
"Aaah, no!" He gasped, taking a step back trying to pull away, his stomach twisted as his foot squashed into another pocket of soft, unfortunately welcoming webbing. He squirmed sharply, trying to pull out of either mass, yet both followed his motions, stretching to compensate, with the wide snare pulling back to distribute the weight of his arm more evenly.
The hunt was over and the silkin knew it, slithering closer with calm glee, smirking at the trap it had herded its prey into.
"No! Stay back!" Marzipan yelped, his free arm swinging out, knowing full well how useless it was, that even if he landed a full strength punch the snake wouldn't even flinch. The pronged claws at the tip of the silkin's tail split apart, while able to produce web, they were clear of it for now. Instead they flew toward Marzipan's head, grabbing squarely along the back of it.
It spun Marzipan's head in a pair of circular twists, forcing it into the web-sheet, getting the restraining silk to paste onto the cat's face and cover his head. The second turn caught most of what the first missed. Even though the tail was underneath the webbing, the silkin was able to just slide off and out of it, unlike its captive.
"Mhhhff, nhh plhhs!" He begged instead of threatened, only able to see the hint of light through the web, nothing beyond that, both eyes already covered up soundly. His flailing arm and foot connected with scaled snake belly for a moment before the spidery claws seized his leg, sharp tips dug into his clothing. The snake split just enough to break the fabric he wore apart and rip it away without harming the fur below, then it thrust the errant foot toward the snagged one, dragging enough web over both ankles to pin them together.
The claws slid upward, caressing Marzipan's sides whilst dipping under his top, the cloth ripped as the limbs pulled upward and outward, shredding it then gathering his free arm. He felt the tip of the tail kiss along his underarm, spreading webbing in its wake before slapping a tether to his chest.
Marzipan squirmed and wailed, the snake was taking its time, playing with him. It was enjoying it!
The silkin reached in, twisting him around, tangling his legs up further before cutting the boundary of the webs loose below his toes and around his arms. It then spun Marzipan, building a twisted cord that tethered him to the branch above. By weaving its legs through that it hoisted him off the ground, dangling by his ensnared head. It brought him to eye level, jabbing the tail forward again.
Marzipan squeaked as he felt four solid points break through muffling silk and push over his tongue and inside his mouth. They stretched his jaws wide before chasing them with more thick gooey webs, filling his mouth up completely until it had stuffed his cheeks. The claws pulled out of the webby mass, grabbing Marzipan's snout and chin and squashing them into the filling gag before adding more wrapping to his head. The hint of light grew dim until it was totally blotted out, leaving the increasingly scared cat alone with his thoughts, only able to discern the silkin's actions by touch. "Mmm, mm mh." He tried to complain, his louder cries reduced to tiny mumbles by the extra webbing.
It hissed in a rhythmic way that sounded like laughter. The terror stricken feline whimpered again, holding onto a vain hope that the creature was intelligent and only sadistically playing with him with the intent to release him or leave him hanging so he might escape.
The hope for the latter was dashed as the brushing of scale and claw returned, a wide snare of webbing was held between two claws like a thick rope, wrapped with teasing slowness around Marzipan, trapping his arms haphazardly against his body then securing his wrists. It crept down, pressing on his sides and belly.
He could only keep squirming and whining, praying the beast would feel pity. The hefty web coated his thighs, tugged suddenly tightly to make his legs all the more surely packed into one. Another twist of the web covered above and below the knee and then a sudden rush of air and feeling struck along Marzipan's body.
From almost every angle scales and belly pressed against him. It squeezed from toe to neck, leaving nowhere for air to touch fur or webbing. The silkin squeezed the breath from his lungs and held hard, wiggling its body up and down.
He felt something moving yet was too in need of oxygen to notice. His lungs still hadn't recovered from his mad running dash, the extra pressure was excessive!
The kneading squeeze shifted to focus on his legs for a few seconds, enough for him to greedily gulp air through his nose before the squash came back to his torso. The pressure was enough that it was stretching his arms out from where they lay, straightening them against his sides.
Even when the snake's belly lifted an inch or so from him he still felt pressure, with taking a breath no longer his only, desperate priority, he realised what it had been doing. It was smoothing the thick ropes of web into an all encompassing cocoon!
"Mmh, nhh." He cried weakly as the coils descended from him. The serpentine monster added even more web, reinforcing the cocoon's thickness, bulking it out until it was a blob of web only to coil up and squash it again, compacting it down. What had been a rounded out cocoon moments ago was a sticky silken casing that showed off Marzipan's curves, only losing definition at the tips of his body.
The snake pulled back again, yet the tension of the extra layers kept him from being able to pull his legs apart from each other or even wiggle his arms. He could only kick his legs enough to set himself swaying from the bough by that single tether at his head, his arms were too tightly pressed in to be of use.
He hung there in dreadful silence, he hadn't heard the snake leaving which made him assume it was still watching him, observing his struggles. The light rustle of scales on the grass and leaves confirmed it, the snake moved around without disturbing him further though with all the webbing over his ears it was hard to tell which direction it had gone. He kept willing it to leave, hoping it was planning to save him for later, to give him a chance to recover his strength and break out.
Several minutes passed with it staying nearby, the beast let Marzipan struggle until he had no fight left in him. When he finally stopped squirming, hanging limp and defeated, the silkin had still watched in amusement for a further minute.
Inside the dark warmth of the form-squeezing cocoon, Marzipan felt his body being moved, lowered downwards. His throat caught, was the thing putting him down? Had the silkin had its fun or was it simply lowering his legs so he could struggle more?
The tips of his toes touched something but it wasn't the hard ground nor the squishy softness of webbing, instead it was a cushioned but firm feeling, which rose to squeeze over his heels and press at his shins. "Nhh!!"
The silkin's mouth was wide open below the cocoon, the centre of its throat starting to take in the captured prey. It stopped pushing Marzipan down and closer and instead, as its cloying, squeezing throat rippled, it rose into the air. Moving at the perfect speed to make it look to the outside that the snake was effortlessly sliding upward over the cocooned cat.
The new, taut and tense pressure sucked him down, he could feel the snake's gullet kneading through the webbing, squashing over him and tugging before it started vigorously contracting, squeezing him more than it needed to without pushing him in as far as he felt it should. He wailed, even now it was playing with him, neither finishing the job quickly or letting him go.
Pressure slid over his arms, up to his shoulders and around his neck, the tight squash of the beast's throat squeezed around his neck as it held him there, he had no energy left to squirm, every movement he felt was imposed on him by that swallowing throat.
A stiff feeling prodded his nose, the tail-claws reaching to one eye, grabbing the silk and tearing it. Marzipan opened his eyelid and immediately regretted doing so; He saw the flesh of the silkin's mouth all around his head, disturbed only by the strand of web that held him aloft. He saw it tugged at an odd angle, hooked on the silkin's upper jaw, saw it ever so slowly bring the claws round to the tether and then it sliced through, severing his connection to outside. "Hmmmhhh!!"
The snake shut its jaws a little, narrowing Marzipan's view of the sunlit sky to a minimum as with one last gulp the monster pulled the rest of Marzipan's head in. He fell downwards, squeezing waves of throat pulling as the light took on a fleshy colour only to be blocked off completely as the silkin fully reconnected it's jaw to let out a happy sigh.
"My, I haven't had so much fun with a catch in ages. The fear of your's was exquisite." The silkin said, making Marzipan yelp at the revelation that it truly was an intelligent beast. "I should play the wordless monster more often if it means less noisy pleas and fewer bargaining attempts." It said with a chuckle, raising its neck high to slide its meal in deeper. A lone claw rose to pat the lump of Marzipan's head, pushing in so it could feel the vibrations of his attempts to call out.
As the cat's legs passed the point of the silkin's own, the snake began to scuttle and slither away, to find somewhere quiet to enjoy its meal...
