Cynder woke up and smiled, feeling the warmth of her mate laying against her. She looked out the window and watched as Sophia introduced her daughter to Mary and her children. May slowly approached the larger kids and warily sniffed them. They smiled at her and talked with her a bit, then May smiled and they walked away so they can teach her some of their games. Sophia watched with a smile on her face while she talked with Jack and Mary. Spyro mumbled and opened his eyes, he smiled at her and laughed to himself.

“We've been mated for almost a year now and I still can't get used to waking up next to you." He spoke.

She blushed and looked over at him. “I know, I can't help but to smile whenever I wake up."

Spyro kissed her, then got up and stretched. Cynder groaned and followed her mate. They walked into the kitchen, and made a quick breakfast. They quickly ate and prepared for the trip, they filled their inventories, and put on their armor. They stepped outside and greeted Michael, who was watching his granddaughter play with her new friends. He turned to them when they approached him.

“You two ready?" He asked them.

“Almost, we were going to say goodbye to Mary before we left." Cynder answered.

Mary walked up to them. “Aw, that's sweet of you, bye, have a nice trip."

They said their goodbyes and Michael opened a portal. The two mates stepped through the portal and looked around the grassy terrain. There was a city not far from the portal location, and as soon as it closed, they flew towards the sparkling structures. They landed in a ruined square and started walking around, looking for the archive. After a few hours of walking, they found the massive library. They entered the building and set up their camp.

“This place is huge." Spyro spoke, then pulled a book out from his inventory.

“Yeah, I love it." Cynder smiled.

“Michael said that we should start right after he defeated the last human army. The Book Of Providence, Volume Eight, and stop at the end, when the dimension is abandoned." Spyro replied

Cynder nodded, and looked around. “Now, where would we find that?"

“This way, I think."

Spyro led her down a hall, then turned right, then went down another hall. The entered a massive room filled with books that went several floors up.

“No, wait, this is the family line section, I must have got the two of them mixed up." Spyro looked at his book with a frown.

Cynder looked at an alter in the center of the room. She lifted her paw and placed it on its smooth surface. Suddenly, two books floated down to her, and she grabbed them.

“This one's my bloodline, all the way to the beginning." She looked at the book with awe. “And this one is… a collection of all powerful dark dragons?"

Spyro walked up and put his paw on the alter, this time three books floated and he grabbed them.

“The royal bloodline, my mother's bloodline? And a list of all purple dragons." He spoke

Spyro opened the royal bloodline book and flipped to the end, he gasped when he found himself.

“You're here too." He told her

She gasped and looked at the book. There was a line that showed Nuri and Frost, then it showed Fury and Mary and the others, it had a line that connected Fury with Rose, which led downward to Spyro. Cynder noticed that there was an image of her connected with Spyro's.

She smiled at him. “I wonder if you're in mine."

She opened the book and flipped to the end, it showed her parents, and her grandparents. There was a line connecting Cynder with him. He smiled at her and laughed.

“I guess they do auto-update" He chuckled.

They sat and read the books that floated down to them, then they copied them and returned to their camp. Cynder cooked up a quick meal as Spyro set up their bed and warmed it up with his fire element, when Cynder finished she brough the two meals to him and laid down. Spyro laid down around her and they ate their meal together, then fell asleep.

Spyro woke to a strange tapping sound coming from outside the archive. He slowly got up and looked out the window, there was a strange black creature along the road, its claws were clicking on the road as it walked. Spyro walked out of the house and it froze, and turned to him.

“Hello?" He called.

The creature charged, and Spyro blasted it with an electric beam, vaporizing the creature instantly. Spyro looked at where the creature was originally, and looked around for more of them. Even though Michael said the original evil that made the dimension become abandoned is gone, that doesn't mean that there aren't other evils.

“Spyro!" Cynder hissed. “Get back inside, don't you remember what Michael told us; stay inside during the night."

Spyro walked back into the building, and laid back down around Cynder.

“You had me worried there for a second." Cynder mumbled.

“Sorry, I wanted to see what it was." Spyro replied, then fell asleep

Michael walked across a battlefield, there were scattered bodies of lions and insect-dragons. He walked up to the leader of the former, who was crawling away as fast as he could. Michael grabbed the back of the lion's armor and dragged him back and flipped him around.

“Did everything go as you planned? Your allies are extinct, your people are shattered, weakened, and without any form of defense. What did you really think would happen?" He grumbled.

“I… don't know." The king sighed.

“Do you understand now?" Michael replied.

“I… do."

Michael let the king go, he slumped to the ground with a groan.

“You will have one planet, only one, and nothing more."

The king nodded, then slowly got up, and hobbled away.

Aura walked out of her house, and watched as Sophia and Trice chatted energetically. May was playing with Trice's claws, smacking them with her paws and squealing. Aura joined her sisters and sat down with them.

“Hey, what's going on?" Aura asked.

“Nothing much, just talking about our older brother, Max." Sophia answered

“I haven't seen him since I was young, how is he?" Aura replied

“He's good, he is busy running the ML, his son, Mark, wants to join us, but he isn't letting him for some reason." Sophia told her.

“I would like to meet my nephew." Aura spoke, as if to herself. “I hope Max changes my mind."

They nodded.

“So." Trice cut in. “Egg year, you excited?"

Aura smiled “I am, I can't wait to be a mom."

“You'll be a good one." Sophia told her. “And you beat Trice, which was expected."

“I'm not even ten percent of the age dad was when Max was born." Trice replied.

Sophia rolled her eyes. “Blah, Blah, Blah, excuses."

Trice narrowed her eyes, and focused back on May. “Blah, Blah, Blah, Quick on the draw." She mocked.

Sophia chose to ignore the retort and looked back to Aura. “How many eggs so you think you'll have?"

“I hope I have at least four, Sam wants six." Aura replied.

“The little white ones are always the cutest." Trice giggled. “You were downright adorable."

“I want a few light blue and a few dark blue." Aura replied.

Sophia chuckled. “Does he seem excited?"

“He is bouncing off the walls, he keeps looking at my belly like I'm already pregnant." Aura chuckled.

Both her sisters smiled.

“Just wait for him to start collecting nesting material for you." Trice replied.

They kept talking for a while, Aura enjoyed the time with her two sisters, it had been a while since she had spent time with both of them.

Ember woke up and looked out her window, it was almost noon, and they were needed at Warfang soon. She looked over at her mate, and kissed him slowly, he eventually woke up and returned the affection. His eyes opened and sparkled at her.

“Time to go to work." She cooed at him.

They both got up and put on their crowns, before walking out of their bedroom and into their spare room. A portal stood floating and they stepped through it. After they made their way to the throne room and settled down, they began their daily work.

Camry woke up and smiled at his mate, who was laying on his chest, her sleeping expression made his heart explode every time. He watched her for a few hours before he licked her cheek. She opened her eyes and smiled.

“Time to travel to Warfang?" She asked

“Almost." Camry smiled “I made sure it was still a surprise."

They kissed for a while before they got up and put on their armor. There were a few guards waiting for them, the leader stepped forward and opened a portal. They stepped through and walked into the main square of Warfang. The guard's eyes widened when they noticed the royal procession. They nodded to them as they passed and opened the gates to the palace.

“Your majesties, the king and queen of Fen have arrived." A guard told them.

“Camry and Layla? What's going on?" Ember asked Flare, who shrugged. “Let them in, of course."

The guard nodded and pulled the rope, Camry and Layla walked in and smiled at them.

“Hi." Layla called.

“Hi, don't get me wrong, I'm glad you're here, but why are you here?" Ember asked.

“We wanted to discuss some trading agreements, and maybe some other official stuff, then have some friendly chatter." Layla explained.

Ember smiled. “Then let's go to the lounge."

They walked out of the throne room and into the royal lounge. Ember and Layla chatted about royal and personal affairs, while Camry and Flame chatted about random things like fighting styles and the upcoming egg year.

“Both of our territories are going to go nuts when the eggs are lain." Camry spoke.

“Ember told me, they want a celebration, then another when the first one hatches." Flame replied.

Camry nodded. “Good thing we are staying in Faun, we won't have such issues."

“Yeah, having all of us close by will be better for them when they hatch because they will have friends." Flame told him.

“That's one of the purposes of egg years, so they will have friends, so that the future mothers will have help and will experience things together, and for them to be able to trade favors and help each other." Camry replied.

Flame chuckled. “Yeah, and having at least fifty eggs between all of us will be interesting for a while."

“And all them being pregnant, it will be a district full of instincts, hormones, and craziness." Camry whispered.

They both looked at their mates, who were busily chatting and gesturing, then back to each other.

“Can't wait." Flame replied.

Camry agreed. “Me neither."

They continued to chat for a while before the sun started to set and everybody prepared to go.

“Hey, can we use your portal to Faun, ours isn't set up yet." Camry asked.

“Sure, let's go." Flame answered.

They walked along the halls and through a portal, Camry and Layla said their goodbyes and went to their new home. Ember cooked dinner and they ate it together, then they retired to their bedrooms. Flame curled up around his mate and sighed.

“So, what were you and Camry talking about?" Ember asked.

“Some random topics, like the egg year." Flame answered

“Does he seem excited?" She replied

“Were all excited, waiting is driving us insane." Flame told her

She rolled her eyes. “It's not like we have any control here."

Flame laughed and set her head down.

“I know, but it's still nerve-wracking."

Ember nuzzled her face against his, then set her head down next to it.

“Imagine how I feel." She mumbled.

They slowly fell asleep, thinking of the future, and their children.

Michael landed back in the square, the lights were off in most of the houses, Bea was waiting for him and nuzzled him when he reached her.

“There you are, how is everything?" She asked.

“Good on that front, but we need to find that eldritch terror nest before anybody else does." Michael told her.

“Let's do it tomorrow, it's already late, you don't want to fight them at night." Bea pulled him into the house.

They slept through the night, and Michael stepped back out of the house after the sun had risen. Michael yawned and looked around, everyone was still asleep, and the square was eerily silent. A portal opened and two dragons walked through it, one of them was holding a bundle in her paw. She quickly handed him the bundle and they both bowed before they stepped back into through the portal. Michael opened the bundle to reveal a bright red egg, he smiled and inspected the egg, before turning and walking into his house. Bea was waiting for him and smiled when he entered.

“It's a girl, first of this egg year." Michael told her.

He handed her the egg and they walked into the nest room. Sophia was asleep curled around May next to the nest, she opened her eyes and looked over at them. Bea inspected the egg, then whispered to it, a protection rune appeared on the egg then faded away. Bea set the egg on the nest and curled around it herself. Sophia smiled at her mother, and turned back to Michael.

“So, looks like another sister is joining us?" She asked.

“The first of what's to come, after the eggs are all laid, more will arrive, it's the perils of life." Michael replied

Bea closed her eyes, and sighed. Michael smiled and left, walking once again out of the house. Ember and Flame left their house and were walking towards him.

“What was that portal for?" Flame asked.

“Ignitus' egg has arrived, and is in my nest now." Michael told them.

They both gasped, and smiled. They turned and watched as Amber walked out of the house, and turned around and beckoned to somebody that was still inside. A small snout poked out from the door and looked around warily, before stepping out and running to Amber. The others followed the leader and huddled close to their mother while looking around. Lumi stepped out and smiled, the hatchlings huddled between their mother and their father, as they walked towards Michael and the others.

“Hi" Ember cooed at the little dragons, who watched her with dumbfounded gazes.

One of the hatchlings recognized Michael, and ran up to him. She chirped happily at him as he lowered his snout and greeted the tiny dragon. Sophia stepped out of the house with May chirping happily and following, they walked over to them and May froze when she noticed the other hatchlings. She walked up and greeted them enthusiastically. The other hatchlings sniffed her curiously, then they started playing.

“That's so cute I'm going to die." Ember spoke.

Amber and Sophia smiled.

Cynder woke and looked over at Spyro, she wanted to stay mad at him because of the risk he took last night, but couldn't stay mad at him. She looked over at his sleeping face and couldn't help but smile, her tail was tightly curled around his, keeping him there, but also preventing her from getting up without waking him. She set her head back down and sighed, after an hour, Spyro lifted his head and yawned. Cynder looked over and kissed him. They got up and cooked a quick breakfast, ate it, and made their way to the history section of the library. They quickly found the books they were looking for yesterday and brought them back to their camp.

“This is going to take a minute." Spyro said, eyeing the stack of books they brought.

“Yeah, but it will be relaxing." She stretched and laid down on the temporary bed.

Spyro joined her with the first book, she nuzzled his neck as he opened it and started reading aloud…
